obviously most north korean citizens are quite poor (it’s a fairly small country that is underdeveloped due to being almost completely isolated from the rest of the world besides minimal trade with china) and the government is authoritarian but the stuff people just casually say about it is pretty unhinged. “nobody lives in those buildings” (about like… every picture of a building in pyongyang) “the people in this video of the subway are actors it’s so creepy.” buddy they built that metro decades ago (yes it’s old technology but where would they get something newer). I’m pretty sure it’s more likely that these people are just going to work than that they’re “staging” people using public transport, please. according to wikipedia daily ridership of the pyongyang metro is around 300000 to 700000… they always use this narrative about “enemy” countries and it’s dehumanizing tbh
