Attrice, conduttrice televisiva, produttrice televisiva e produttrice cinematografica nota soprattutto per aver interpretato tra la fine degli anni sessanta e gli anni ottanta numerosi film appartenenti al genere del giallo all'italiana e della commedia sexy.

🇬🇧 Edwige Fenech (born Edwige Sfenek on 24 December 1948) is an Italian actress and film producer.

She is mostly known as the star of a series of commedia sexy all'italiana and giallo films released in the 1970s, which turned her into a sex symbol.

Fenech moved from Nice, France to Rome in 1967 for her first Italian film Samoa Queen of the Jungle by Guido Malatesta

In 1968, she came under contract with Austrian director Franz Antel and from the late 1960s to early 1970s, she acted in various films of Antel (including his acclaimed Frau Wirtin series) as well as that of Franz Marischka

Fenech was also a regular in giallo films.

Her works in this genre include The Seducers, Five Dolls for an August Moon The Strange Vice of Mrs Wardh, Your Vice Is a Locked Room and Only I Have the Key, All the Colors of the Dark, The Case of the Bloody Iris, Strip Nude for Your Killer, and Phantom of Death

🇮🇹 Nasce ad Annaba (all'epoca denominata Bône), nell'allora Algeria francese, il 24 dicembre del 1948 da padre maltese 🇲🇹 e da madre italiana 🇮🇹 originaria di Acate (in provincia di Ragusa), di cui diverrà cittadina onoraria.

A seguito del divorzio dei genitori, si trasferisce con la madre a Nizza, in Francia, dove frequenta il liceo e studia danza e medicina. Lì viene notata mentre passeggia per strada e ingaggiata per una piccola parte nel film Toutes folles de lui di Norbert Carbonnaux.

Nel 1967 partecipa al concorso di bellezza Lady France, che si svolge a maggio durante il Festival di Cannes e che vince, ottenendo così il diritto di partecipare a Lady Europa come rappresentante del suo paese, la Fenech si classifica al terzo posto, Pur non vincendo, viene notata da un talent scout che le propone di girare in Italia, da protagonista, il film Samoa, regina della giungla, si trasferisce quindi in Italia con la madre.

Dopo questo film e il successivo, Il figlio di Aquila Nera sempre per la regia di Guido Malatesta, lavora per un certo periodo in Germania; ritorna poi in Italia per girare due film con Franco Franchi e Ciccio Ingrassia in Don Franco e don Ciccio nell'anno della contestazione e Satiricosissimo (in cui interpreta l'imperatrice Poppea).

Tra la fine degli anni sessanta e l'inizio degli anni settanta, recita in film del genere“GIALLO”... in voga in quegli anni.

Inizia un duraturo sodalizio soprattutto con il regista Sergio Martino con titoli quali Lo strano vizio della signora Wardh, che la fanno diventare un'icona del giallo erotico.

La sua consacrazione avviene nel 1972 quando è protagonista del "decamerotico" Quel gran pezzo dell'Ubalda tutta nuda e tutta calda di Mariano Laurenti, pellicola divenuta un film di culto come il successivo Giovannona coscialunga, disonorata con onore. Da allora per circa un decennio è protagonista della cosiddetta commedia sexy all'italiana,

sono 40 gradi all'ombra del lenzuolo di Sergio Martino, con Tomas Milian e La poliziotta fa carriera con Mario Carotenuto e Alvaro Vitali

Nel 1976 appare nel film La Pretora diretto da Lucio Fulci

Passata la stagione cinematografica, negli anni 1980, con la nascita delle prime emittenti private, partecipa alle edizioni dei programmi Ric e Gian folies, trasmesso nel 1983 su Italia 1, Bene, bravi, bis (1984, con Franco Franchi e Ciccio Ingrassia), trasmesso sempre su Italia 1 e vincitore del Telegatto, e all'edizione 1985 di Risatissima, varietà del sabato sera trasmesso su Canale 5 e anch'esso vincitore del Telegatto, insieme a Lino Banfi e Paolo Villaggio.

Debutta in teatro nel 1985 con il dramma D'amore si muore di Giuseppe Patroni Griffi, con Massimo Wertmüller, Fabrizio Bentivoglio, Monica Scattini.

Successivamente passa a condurre su Rai 1 Sotto le stelle (1986), Immagina (1987-1988), Carnevale (1988), Palcoscenico Italia (1988), Sulla cresta dell'onda (1989), Un tesoro di capodanno (31 dicembre 1990 a reti Rai unificate) ma l'affermazione in TV arriva con l'edizione 1989-90 di Domenica in sotto la direzione di Gianni Boncompagni. Presentò il Festival di Sanremo 1991, insieme ad Andrea Occhipinti, e successivamente presentò Singoli (1997), sempre su Rai 1.

Fra i film da lei prodotti Il mercante di Venezia del 2004.

Nel 2007 torna davanti alla macchina da presa, contattata dal regista statunitense Quentin Tarantino, per un cameo in Hostel Part II sequel di Hostel, sempre diretto da Eli Roth suoi dichiarati fan, nel suo Bastardi senza gloria il personaggio interpretato da Mike Myers si chiama "Ed Fenech", in omaggio all'attrice. Nel 2012 ha recitato nella parte di Caterina II di Russia nella miniserie televisiva La figlia del capitano della quale è anche produttrice.

Radioactive waste turns tree roots into killers, kind of a less rapey version of Evil Dead.

Low budget science fiction horror which combines the nadir of Canadian tax shelter cinema and Troll II era low point of Italian exploitation.  The setting is Canadian as hell.  Small town despair looms large, with the town prostitute playing heavily into the plot, and most of the characters are drunk, if not the actors.  Bad performances and special effects, but there's a certain earnestness you can't help but admire, reminding me of other regional film making masterpieces like Time Chasers.

The Italian connection surprised me - I wasn't familiar with Laurenti, but it looks like he hasn't done much else (though I need to check out Hasselhoff and Linda Blair in Witchery).

La più amata banda di giocattoli torna al cinema con un’avventura completamente nuova nel nuovo lungometraggio Disney e Pixar Toy Story 4. Diretto da Josh Cooley e prodotto da Jonas Rivera e Mark Nielsen, il film è da oggi nelle sale italiane distribuito in oltre 800 copie da The Walt Disney Company Italia.

Nella versione italiana di Toy Story 4 un importante cast di voci dà vita ai nuovi giocattoli. Luca Laurenti è Forky, un cucchiaio-forchetta usa e getta trasformato in un giocattolo dalla piccola Bonnie; Corrado Guzzanti è Duke Caboom, un giocattolo degli anni ‘70 che, a cavallo della sua potente motocicletta acrobatica, è sempre pronto a mostrare le proprie pose da stuntman con sicurezza e spavalderia; Rossella Brescia è una ballerina volante tra i giocattoli a disposizione dei bambini nel parco giochi.

Il duo musicale più popolare d’Italia, Benji & Fede, fa uno speciale cameo dando voce a due ranocchiette, fra gli ambiti premi del luna park in cui è ambientata parte della nuova avventura, oltre a interpretare una nuova versione dell’iconico brano firmato da Randy Newman “Hai un Amico in Me” (“You’ve Got a Friend in Me”) che accompagna i titoli di coda del film.

L’atteso nuovo capitolo della saga vede inoltre il ritorno delle storiche voci di Massimo Dapporto, nei panni dello Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear, e Riccardo Cocciante, ancora una volta interprete della canzone “Hai un Amico in Me” (“You’ve Got a Friend in Me”), presente nel film insieme al nuovissimo brano “Non Permetto” (“I Can’t Let You Throw Yourself Away”). Dopo la scomparsa del celebre e amato conduttore Fabrizio Frizzi, indimenticabile voce italiana di Woody, lo sceriffo cowboy torna sul grande schermo con l’interpretazione di Angelo Maggi, già doppiatore di Tom Hanks, voce originale del personaggio.

Presentato in anteprima a Roma, durante la serata la proiezione del film è stata anticipata in sala da una performance esclusiva di Benji & Fede sul palco con Riccardo Cocciante per interpretare insieme il celebre brano che da sempre accompagna le avventure di Toy Story.
