after sting became master a lot of the ex fairy tail members from 7 years ago either rejoined fairy tail or joined sabertooth. hence why sabertooth is big and popular

sting, no matter how serious and professional he tries to be, is always known as the goofball dumbass master to the members. even the newest members

rogue, no matter how unserious and relaxed he tries to be, is always known as the no-nonsense hardass to the members. even the eldest members

again, the newest members mistake rogue for the master and sting for his assistant. because sting made rogue the one to show the new ones around

the eldest members also refer to rogue as their master bc its hilarious

rogue honestly does more of the paperwork than sting unless it needs the masters magic signature. he knows how to forge signatures and does it most of the time

sting is still the master bc rogue doesnt like all that publicity. sting genuinely does think rogue would be a better master. hes basically already the master

stings still has the final say, though. guildhall needs renovations? talk to sting. guildhall needs a new shipment of something? talk to sting. going on a quest? tell sting. wanna be s-class? talk to sting.

they have their own s-class trials. it used to be fighting the old master and whoever drew blood would be the only s-class for that year. now it changes every year, but its never fighting your family. never again

honestly sabertooth and fairy tail ruin whatevers left of the magic council. theyve gotten to the point of wondering if joint guild membership can be a thing. then they can lump st and ft together for taxes and punishments

it would probably help the confusion whenever the ft dragon slayers show up at st for a 'slayer meeting' or when the st slayers show up at ft for the same

I hate when people say that Mashima basically made Sabertooth’s team a copy of Fairy Tail b/c in my opinion, I think they were made to reflect Fairy Tail. What would’ve happened if Fairy Tail went down a more power hungry path?

Not to mention, after they redeemed themselves, the most thing that they have most in common with those Fairy Tail members is maybe their appearance and magic. That’s all. In my opinion, their personalities are nothing alike, really.

Like Sting is much more clever and responsible then Natsu (not bashing on Natsu, he has his good qualities, obviously).

Rogue is much more brooding and less emotional than Gajeel.

Orga is much more… how do I say… dense… than Laxus is. I also feel like he’d he much more outgoing as well. And more goofy.

Yukino is much more softspoken than Lucy is.

And finally, I think Rufus is nothing like Freed except maybe appearance wise. Other than that, Rufus is much more snarky, cocky, and honestly more outgoing. I mean sure, they’re both quite perceptive, and elegant in their demeanor. But I think that’s as far as it goes.

Sting was bright and quick to attack, while Rogue tended to hang back and study the situation, which wasn't normal for his guildmates. He was weird; he knew it, and that was okay.

Sting could be in the spotlight; he liked it there, grinning and waving at the people who loved him. Rogue was okay with being in his shadow; being his shadow. He liked the dark more than Sting did, anyway.

Besides, when Sting rushed over to grab his hand, all big grins and delighted laughter, Rogue liked basking in his light.

fairy tail dragon slayer headcanons pt. 1

♡ what the first gen and second gen dragon slayers eat is pretty self-explanatory. all of their elements are... somewhat tangible. sting and rogue though? they're still figuring it out. rogue wonders if he can eat someone else's shadow, and sting immediately volunteers himself. "for science!" he says. the result is that sting almost passes out. oops. he insists they try on their friends, much to rogue's displeasure. the results are that sting is the most susceptible, then yukino, rufus, orga, and minerva is the least susceptible to magic drainage. sting insists rogue tries to eat an inanimate object's shadow, and nothing happens to it, so they decide that's the way to go.

♡ when wendy eats air, the oxygen levels thin. she has to be careful or she'll cause her allies and enemies alike to pass out. when sting eats light, the area gets darker and darker. this is great for rogue, who starts eating the shadows, and they manage to balance each other out.

♡ sting insists that different types of light taste differently. his favorite is light from golden hour, right when the sun is dipping below the horizon. moonlight will do in a pinch, but it's so diluted that it takes way more of it to recover sting's magic. he also gets sick if he eats too much moonlight.

♡ pantherlily already has transformation magic and enhanced strength, and carla learns to transform so she can help wendy fight. the other three exceeds feel... a little left out. happy learns how to fly faster and for longer (though he still complains about lucy being heavy). lector goes to porlyusica and wendy to learn some stamina regeneration spells for sting. everyone is surprised when frosch, completely on their own, manages to learn an adorable light spell that creates floating pink bubbles. rogue can consume the shadows from them without worrying about draining frosch's magic, and he spends the entire afternoon crying about it.

♡ dragon slayers are a bit like crows. their way of bonding with someone is through gifting trinkets. natsu will bring lucy, erza, and even gray pretty rocks or seashells that he's found on jobs. wendy picks up a new craft or hobby every week, so the members of fairy tail are constantly recieving handmade accessories from her (gajeel helps during the metalsmithing phase). gajeel does not buy cute things for people. he is like a dad in the fact that, when juvia mentions she wants watermelon, he buys her 20 watermelons. walking math problem fr.

♡ laxus has mixed feelings about his more draconic features and habits. he's never loved his magic because of the way he got it, and the memory of his father basically torturing him as he inserted the lacrima will stay with him forever. he tends to suppress dragon instincts more than anyone else in the group, and they all scold him for it. on a rare occasion, laxus will give in and buy something shiny (like a hairclip) for wendy. she has a little jewelry box for them that she guards fiercely.

♡ cobra considers himself more of a flying snake than a dragon. he once drew a picture that sent everyone into a laughing fit. he prefers to stick with the old oración seis crew, but the guild dragon slayers are always happy to see him when he stops by with crime sorcière.

♡ sting, because of his heightened senses and his affinity for light, prefers nighttime. the day can often be overwhelming, and overexposure to bright settings and lots of people leaves his skin buzzing. he likes to sit in the dim guild hall, leaning against the cool stone wall, as the chatter of the crowd quiets down with the setting sun.

♡ dragon slayers all have the Bite instinct. some exercise a degree of control about it, and others go crazy with it. wendy will very gently nibble on erza or mira's arm when she's in the mood, and sometimes she does it absentmindedly. natsu, on the other hand, is an absolute menace. multiple of erza's armor sets have natsu-shaped bite marks on them. he tends to go after her the most because he knows he won't hurt her with the armor. when natsu's more calmed down, he will chomp on lucy's shoulder. gajaeel copes by eating all of fairy tail's silverware (mira starts buying ceramic spoons), but when levy offers her wrist to him he can't help it.

♡ rogue is another one who doesn't really bite people. he, very rarely, nips at frosch's ears, which causes the exceed to giggle. sting is a Biter like natsu, but with slightly more decorum. he really wants to go at it but will restrain himself because most people aren't willing to be treated like a chew toy. luckily for him, gray and cana aren't most people! because they both wear pretty exposing clothing, gray and cana have no qualms about showing off sting's bite marks on their skin. sting always turns bright red when they tease him about it.

♡ laxus and cobra don't really feel the Bite instinct due to being second gen, but cobra is a little shit and bites people for the fun of it. laxus is completely unbothered when natsu clings to him like a koala and gnaws at him.

Summary : It was already the second day of the grand magic games and you seriously didn't understand why they let Sting compete in the race. So now you had a sick Dragon Slayer on your hands, who was way to stubborn to admit it was a stupid idea to not let Orga or Yukino go.

a/n : I can barely find Fairy Tail content, so now I've made it my resposibility to write fors this awesome show, starting with my all time favorite boy.. Sting! <3

Why did he have to be so stubborn? It would have been much smarter to let one of the others compete.. But no that dumb ass with the adorable smile had to go up against Fairy Tails Natsu Dragneel and Gajeel Redfox. You understood that he wants to beat Natsu, the one he looked up to for years.. But did it really have to be in a race on moving carts?! Jiemma was so mad, Sting and the whole team couldn't allow themselves another slip up, or the whole guild would feel his rage.

“Sting it's me, I'm coming in.” Entering his room in the inn the guild was staying at, he was laying on his side, clutching his stomach. Beside his bed a little bucket just in case. Well at least it was good to know Sting and Rogue weren't the only Dragon Slayer with this issue. “Lectors out with Rogue and Frosch, they'll pick up some soup for you.” Upon the mentioning of food, the blonde poorly clutched his mouth, letting out a low groan, warning to not mention food again.

Setting the bowl of water you were carrying onto the nightstand, you take a seat at his side. Stings eyes averted. Of course. Ashamed is what he felt when he stood in front of Jiemma, of front of the whole guild.. And he still feels like this. Taking the rug from the water, you carefully wring out the excess water, before rubbing it softly over his face. A content sigh could be heard, as Sting turns onto his back, so you had better acess to his face. Poor boy, he looked completely out of it.

“Feeling better a bit?” Looking at him now, he nods. Eyes closed. For once he had a soft look on his face, no scowl, no sadistic smirk. Deep down he was a hurt little boy wanting to prove himself to whoever. It's sad what this guild made out of him.

“Sting! You're awake!” A cry could be heard, as the little red exceed jumped onto the bed, followed by Rogue and Frosch. “You should really think a little more before jumping straight into the games.” Rogue had a little annoyed look on his face, as he sets the bag with the soup on the table, the green cat letting out a little – Fro thinks so too. The two exceed seriously were the most adorable little beings ever. “Sorry you had to take care of him for being careless.” Words now directed to you, making you let out a little laugh. “Oh it's fine, at least I get to spend some time with my favorite Dragon Slayer.” Ruffling Stings hair now slightly, Lector letting out a surprised scream – at how someone could just touch Sting like that. The later now wearing his usual scowl on his face, with a little twist – he was blushing madly, averting his gaze to the other side and away from you.

Now that Sting was finally feeling better, it was time for the battles of the day. Following them back to the arena, Lector comfortably in your arms. Even if he didn't want to admit it, Lector liked you a lot. The battles were interesting to say the least, especially Mirajane against Jenny. What a show truly. So lastly now Yukino. Of course you were cheering for the white haired stellar magician. You two were quit close. Just like you were with Sting and Rogue. But at the end, she fell. Laying on her back and staring at the sky, tears streaming down her soft features. This was bad. Jiemma will not like this.

The evening and night to come.. were definitely something no one would have expected to happen.

Dragon Slayer Head-Cannons

All of the dragon slayers are extremely creepy, they unnerve the hell out of other people just by being around them. Part of it is their appearance with pointed ears, dragon like eyes, the nails which seem more like claws and strange marks upon their skin but there’s more to it than that. The way they hold your stare, the way their pupils sharpen in the light, the way they hold their fingers-claws ready to slash-, the smiles they hold with razor sharp teeth. Nobody ever knows what it specifically is, just that there is something not quite human about them.

Dragon Slayer biology is completely wild and so different from human biology that they’re a lot closer to dragons than they are to humans.

They can see completely in the dark

They also have scales on the rough of their mouth and in the back of there throat to protect them from their roar’s.

They also have marks which came to be called dragon slayer marks as it allows both dragons and other dragon slayers to identify them, different elements produce different marks. Gajeel for example has black marks which look like welded seems across his body, Natsu has flame like patterns, Wendy has cloud like patterns, Laxus lightning like patterns, Sting has round circles like halo’s of light, Rogue has black patterns like shadows, Erik has what looks like small tear drops under his eyes but are obviously poison.

They have four sets of lungs to power their roar’s and employ a system of air sac’s (Air sac’s ensure oxygen rich air flows through the body when breathing in and out and is used by birds and they think dinosaurs used it to) however this can produce somewhat of a weakness as the second set of lungs are located behind the first and thus are towards the back of the ribcage making their back sensitive to impact. One good hit to the back and they��ll be completely stunned for a short period.

Their claws are razor sharp and can cause serious injury. Though the sharpness of the claw depends on the dragon slayer, Gajeel’s are strong enough to cut through iron and out of all the dragon slayers his are the thickest with Wendy’s being the weakest.

They instinctively fear whatever element they are weakest too. To explain Natsu is afraid of water though he can swim just fine he absolutely hates being in the water more than anything. Gajeel fears magma and extremely high temperature fire as they can melt through his iron (Though the fire has to be well over 2,500 Degrees Celsius as his iron is twice as strong as normal iron and twice the melting point). Wendy dislikes being low to the ground and prefers to be up in the air, she also fears polluted area’s or poisonous gases though she can use her magic to purify the air doing so is dangerous to her. Laxus similarly to Natsu dislikes water along with Earth magic as solid ground doesn’t conduct lightning and is one of the few things that stops lightning dead in its tracks. Sting is afraid of dark and black as they can smother his white-light. Rogue on the other hand is afraid of bright light and powerful sources of energy as they can erase his shadows. Erik is afraid of purifying magic as it can obviously cancel out his poison.

They’re all extremely flexible and agile, with it varying from dragon slayer to dragon slayer. From most flexible to least the list goest as follows. Natsu, Wendy, Sting, Rogue, Laxus, Gajeel.

That’s all I can think of for now though I’ll probably post another one of these at a later date focusing on each dragon slayer individually. As well as specific posts for Irene, Achnologia and maybe God Serena if I get around to it.

if erik would join hed be sabertooth's mystogan

shows up when the least amount of people are there / when the quiet ones are there

never stays for long. grabs jobs a handful at a time and dips

sorano would try to keep him there for longer and yukino would follow her lead

erik tries very hard to never show up when sorano's there

the only sabertooth member erik would willingly stay by is rogue because nearly everything about him is kinda muted

which contrasts with sorano, whos around almost everyone all the time

erik and sorano would stick together for some tougher quests if they ever had to go on them, but at that point, theyd probably just call in everyone else from their old group. and probably some fairy tail members.

they would both work solo for the most part.

if yukino was going on a bigger quest then no matter what sorano will follow. doesnt take more than 20% of the payment in that case.

erik does his damnedest to not have anyone with him but sometimes sorano or rogue just pop up and help him.

rogue genuinely just finds erik and the shadows sometimes lead him over to him for literally no reason. at that point rogue just kinda wants to chill out but then he learns its for a quest and is like 'eh. if you want some help'

sorano sometimes purposefully follows erik from the guildhall to wherever hes going. sometimes shes in the area (typically like twenty miles from him) and notices a change in her magic and just. follows that oddness over to erik.

sabertooth thinks erik is a cryptid. sorano both plays up that rumour and tries to break it every chance she gets.

erik doesnt care about the rumour and sometimes appreciates it bc if he ever finds a sabertooth member out in the wild, theyll try to get far away from him as fast as they can

sorano, despite yknow repenting for being a criminal or whatever it was she was doing, doesnt live with yukino. shes on the other side of town, if not just the next town over

erik lives. somewhere. no ones willing to say where but sting says hes got residence somewhere so. whatever.

sorano's mark is either light blue or white and its around where gray's is, just on the opposite side

erik's is on the side of his torso. like where your arm would hide it when relaxed. he didnt care what colour it was. he got dark purple.

My goal with this art was to teach myself it’s ok for my art to look not good so I said no lineart and no obsessing over anatomy. It shows.

just woke up from a nap. recommend.

♡ as annoying as this is to her, lucy always falls asleep when she reads. it takes forever for her to get through a book! it's just so soothing, especially if the story is compelling and lulls her in... bonus points if she's on a train or in a car; the rocking motion will have her out like a light.

♡ levy has no trouble getting through books because it gets her excited, not tired. she doesn't let lucy forget this. she does, however, stay up until ungodly hours of the night to finish a story. gajeel, jet, droy, and lily have found her passed out over a book (or twenty) multiple times. I think she's always buzzing with energy or curiosity, so one of the only ways for levy to settle in is if gajeel literally lies on top of her like a weighted blanket.

♡ speaking of, gajeel is very neutral about naps. he doesn't actively seek them out, mostly because he's one of the few members of the guild who has a relatively normal sleep schedule. he is, however, soft as hell. levy and lily always nap on him. wendy will nap on him. juvia will nap on him. gajeel looks scary asf if he glares, so no one will bother whoever's sleeping by his side. he is also actually very squishy if he relaxes his muscles. 10/10 pillow.

♡ cana naps like nobody's business. she goes out at night, stays up late drinking or partying, and crashes at 3am in gray or loke's bed. there is no "schedule" to sleeping so she will sleep whenever and wherever. cana has the uncanny ability to fall asleep anywhere. slumped over a table in a guild hall while natsu and gray throw chairs at each other? out like a light. lying on a freezing cold bench while her and lucy wait for a train? snoring away. (lucy pulls cana's head into her lap.) cana rarely falls asleep in an actual bed, though. if she does, it's because she's dead tired, and she's been incentivized by cuddles.

♡ natsu looooves a good nap. him and happy cat nap all the time. this might actually be the only consistent thing in their schedules: nap. the entire guild knows, courtesy of mirajane, to stfu for a bit when 1 o'clock hits. they don't actually need to, because natsu could sleep through a storm, but it's the thought that counts. natsu is also really warm and cuddly, which means that he's the perfect napping buddy. being buried in his warm arms, snug as a bug with happy between you... truly the dream.

♡ gray hates naps. hates them!! all because he wakes up the way you wake up from an after-school nap: sweaty, dizzy, disoriented, in a different dimension, with an overwhelming sense of dread. he reveals this one night when he and lucy are plastered at a bar, and that he's slightly jealous of natsu. lucy resolves to fix this, and when they're both blackout drunk she drags him into bed with her. not quite a nap, but hey, gray woke up feeling nice.

♡ sting might be the only character in the fairy tail universe that goes to bed at 10pm. his sleep schedule is on point, so he doesn't really nap unless he's exhausted from running sabertooth's infirmary. he will snuggle up in a square of sunlight with lector and snooze away.

♡ what is a nap? minerva doesn't nap. she doesn't need to rest during the day, she has things to do, what are you talking about- oh. oh. I think sabertooth has a very luxurious library, and minerva knocks out on one of the plush purple couches. more often than not, frosch will worm their way into her arms. the only people who dare to mention her naps are yukino (who minerva has a soft spot for) and sting (who has no sense of self-preservation).
