Nicola Mary Tina Coughlan,

born on 9 January 1987 in Galway, Ireland, and raised up in Oranmore.

At the age of 4, she realized her dream to be an actor after watching an videotape film of "The Wizard of Oz". Likewise, she grew up watching her older sister perform in a school play. She attended Scoil Mhuire for primary school and Calasanctius College for secondary school. She graduated with a degree in English and Classical Civilization from the National University of Ireland, Galway. She then went on to train in England at the Oxford School of Drama and Birmingham School of Acting.

At the age of 9, in 1997, Nicola Coughlan had an uncredited role in action thriller film My Brother’s War. Coughlan was able to take the day off school and was paid £30 to feed swans, though she was scared of them. In 2004, she started her career with a role in Tom Collins’ short film, The Phantom Cnut, a revenge comedy. In the following years, she did various voice works in animated series. She was suffering from depression during this period and her family helped her through the entire process.

Due to financial difficulties, Nicola moved home to Galway, Ireland, to work part time at an optician and get back on her feet. During that time, she responded to an open casting call on Twitter for Jess and Joe Forever at The Old Vic in London, and she just so happened to land the role of Jess. The show has a special place in her heart, as it was her first real break into the acting industry.

In 2018, Coughlan began playing Clare Devlin, one of the main characters, in Derry Girls. This sitcom is set in Derry, Northern Ireland, in the 1990s. The series was broadcast in January and February 2018 on Channel 4. But it was after its rerelease onto streaming platform Netflix in December of the same year that the show gained an international audience and an instant popularity.

In the same year, she also played Hannah Dalton in Hulu’s Harlots. The period drama television series is set in 18th-century London. This year also marked her West End debut in The Donmar Warehouse’s production of The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie. Evening Standard named her as “one of the Rising Stars of 2018”. Unfortunately, not everyone was a fan and Nicola was forced to call out a critic for the British Theatre Guide, Philip Fisher, due to his rude comments about her weight. In a poignant op-ed for The Guardian, where she demanded for critics to

“Judge me for my work in Derry Girls and on the stage, not on my body.”

In the following year, she made headlines again for rebutting the Daily Mirror’s comment on her 2019 British Academy Television Awards look as not the most flattering. She tweeted “I mean incorrect @DailyMirror I look smokin’, sorry bout it”. In July 2020, she auctioned off this Alex Perry dress and €5,000 raised funds went towards LauraLynn Hospice, an Irish children’s hospice which provides specialist palliative and supportive care services.

In 2019, it was announced that Coughlan had been cast in the Netflix series Bridgerton, which premiered in late December 2020. Nicola only had to audition once, and was soon given the role. In this period-drama series based on the best-selling Julia Quinn book series of the same name, Coughlan played Penelope Featherington. The girl is a reluctant debutante and youngest daughter of a nouveau-riche family in Regency-era London. Soon after its released, it was announced that over 63 million people had watched the series.

Nicola has remained an avid advocate for LGBTQ+ and Women’s Rights. Back in 2015, she went from door to door campaigning to legalize same-sex marriage in Ireland. “This was pre anyone knowing who I was, so I didn’t have a big platform to do stuff, but I did what I could,” she told The Guardian in December 2020. She also campaigns for the rights of women and LGBTQ+ communities, including with This Is Me in Ireland (which is run by her friend Noah Halpin) and The Rainbow Project in Northern Ireland. As she explained to Bustle during a December 2020 interview,

"Playing a gay character in Derry Girls and same-sex marriage being illegal until this year, I wanted to lend my voice. It’s not a cozy issue that’s easy to talk about, but I’ve got friends who have suffered because of legislation like this."

In February 2019, Nicola and, her Derry Girl’s co-star, Siobhan McSweeney women led 26 with their suitcases across London’s Westminster Bridge to demand the decriminalization of abortion in Northern Ireland. They represented the estimated number of women a week who had to travel to England to access abortion. Despite many celebrities calling for a boycott to filming in Northern Ireland, Nicola refuses. Of the matter, she said: “Just to state I would never boycott working in NI, I absolutely love working there and feel like my time is better spent supporting the women there by speaking out in interviews, protesting, etc.”

Quite an ass to be honest. She’s honest, says what’s on her mind. She pretty much thinks she can do anything and everything in the world. Though, She does have her nice side, mostly shown to her girlfriend. She is quite open to most things, likes interacting with people. (Will be explained in another post)

She’ll be busy, preparing for her directorial debut and, like the rest of the cast, getting ready for Season 8. Assuming Starz promotes the elusive Season 7B, we’ll see her in what are probably long-ago recorded videos, etc. Some fans are wondering if Starz will host another mid-season premiere event like they did for Season 1B in 2015.

I’m looking forward to seeing her promote The Amateur (8 November) and The Cut (TBA), and hope the films are represented next awards season. As much that circus irritates me, I enjoy seeing her and Tony out and about. 👠👞

The Colorado Springs Pizzaplex in the Mothiverse

CWs: Animatronic Death, Mentions of Discrimination, Transphobia, Ableism, Neglect, Fire, PTSD, Shitty Corporate Practices

FE is a genuinely shitty company and I write about it in this post, so that’s why these CWs exist. This post is also a giant ramblefest that is in desperate need of sensitivity / beta reading.

In the Mothiverse, there are actually two pizzaplexes; one in Salt Lake City, Utah, and the other in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Salt Lake City location is the closest-to-canon one, but the Colorado Springs location was an experiment foraying into animatronics more advanced and more lifelike than the other location’s. We’ll be focusing on the Colorado Springs location in this post.

The Colorado Springs Pizzaplex opened on March 18th, 2016, starting with six animatronics: Glamrock Freddy, Glamrock Bonnie, Glamrock Chica, and Glamrock Foxy, Montgomery Gator, and DJ Music Man; all of whom were brought to life with a proprietary, hyperadvanced version of William Afton’s Animatronic Intelligence Framework. Due to federal distinction laws under the Animatronic Sentience Recognition Act applying to all Framework-based animatronics, however, Fazbear Entertainment had to differentiate them from the Salt Lake City location opened in 2015. These changes included giving them all fluffier, featherier, scalier, and furrier shells, distinct features such as different hairstyles, different hair textures, different clothing, etc., and in Foxy’s case, he was made silver instead of red, a controversial change for many.

As the Pizzaplex saw its first few months, problems began to arise around parents just leaving their children randomly, screaming toddlers disrupting the rest of the people, and more, Fazbear Entertainment decided to do something about it. A large area of unused space was renovated into what became the Superstar Daycare, a vast, fully functioning daycare program where parents could drop off their kids as they went to have fun or work elsewhere in the building. They then got to work on a pair of animatronics based on the Sun and Moon ones present at the other, and gave them distinctions too, including the sun animatronic being given heterochromia. After a bunch of last minute changes, including suddenly switching the plans from cat/dog animatronics to fully celestial ones, switching their body types around, switching features around and adding more for security purposes, it resulted in a lot of bugs and glitches that were never fully fixed, the ones on the moon animatronic so bad that they had to delay him by three months. They were given the names Sunrise and Moondrop respectively.

Sunrise was deployed into the finished Daycare on November 12th, 2016, and Moondrop was deployed as a double Daycare/Security Unit on February 15th, 2017. Problems immediately arose, with Moondrop appearing to despise the children he was caring for, being sensitive to light among other things, all of which were ignored. Sunrise began having frequent occurrences, including behaviors described by staff as “meltdowns, constant inattentiveness, hyperactivity resulting in mood swings, intense focus on a specific thing, and more.” among other things. Initially passed off as a glitch, someone eventually got a psychologist on site where Sunrise was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD. This shocked everyone involved, as this proved that animatronics were capable of neurodivergence. Many didn’t believe it either.

As for the others, Foxy began to feel deeply depressed and self-conscious for months, addressed around October 2016, and when it was fully looked into and all other possibilities were ruled out, both he and the others on the case concluded it was a result of gender dysphoria, even though Foxy new all along and had to fight for months to get it recognized. Foxy was temporarily decommissioned in order to transition, and when she came back in December, she had a new name, a new look, a new voice, and a lot more confidence. Her name was now Roxanne Wolf, shortened to Roxy, and her mood and demeanor IMMEDIATELY improved significantly. She was accepted by the others in her band, but many staff members were hesitant and some even downright discriminatory towards her.

As for Glamrock Bonnie, an accident in Monty’s Gator Golf in early 2017 resulted in his severe injury which he succumbed to, where it was later revealed in court that he was left to die by Fazbear due to “low ratings and low profits.” Not knowing the truth yet, Glamrock Freddy, his secret partner, was heartbroken and launched into grief for a long time when he was informed. Everyone was sent grieving at the death. Chica began to binge eat to cope, Roxy became a lot more irritable, Monty was unable to stop blaming himself for it, and Sunrise, even though they (he at the time) barely knew him, grew a lot more anxious. None of these were addressed properly or given the right counseling, thus allowed to get worse.

Back to the Daycare for a little bit. Sunrise and Moondrop initially disliked eachother, but eventually became friends thanks to Sunrise’s persistence. The two were never properly serviced, and with Sunrise, the staff saw it as a “nightmare” to do. The two were frequently brushed off, ignored, badmouthed, not accommodated for despite their needs, treated terribly by staff and managers alike, and never given the proper skills and tools to cope with their stress-inducing environment. Hell, with Sunrise, the staff started just throwing an iPad in their face to “get him to shut up.” Their autism was frequently used to infantilize them by certain staffers, and when they came out as nonbinary, they began to face the same gender-based discrimination and disregard as Roxy.

The Pizzaplex also had multiple safety issues, including a lack of sanitation practices, infrequent servicing for everyone, a lack of windows or fire exits, frequent bribery of inspectors and “internal investigations,” ignorance of any and all concerns, unaddressed fire hazards, and more, all of which would culminate in a fire that destroyed the place beyond repair on December 16th, 2020. Everyone got out except for Sunrise, and Moondrop, their now-fiancé, ended up diving back into the flames, saving them and getting them out seconds before the entire building collapsed. The fire traumatized pretty much everyone, and with Sunrise, their case was especially severe, resulting in their frequent hospitalization due to severe panic attacks and more as a result of PTSD. Moondrop later took Fazbear Entertainment to court for everything he saved, documented, and archived over years due to his top-level security access, and he not only won millions from the case, but got a criminal investigation opened into the company, resulting in the complete shutdown of the Utah Pizzaplex in 2024.

Nowadays, the animatronics live their daily lives according to their personal desires, and since 2021, have been free from corporate tyranny. Freddy bought a large house and everyone frequently gathers there, and he gardens, creating beautiful botanical creations. Chica is a large-scale social media influencer with an Indie-Y2K mix aesthetic. Roxy runs a bar and tavern, and lives her best life with Chica as her girlfriend. Monty opted to become the biggest Florida Man that Colorado has ever seen. As for the Daycare Attendants, both are happily married to eachother and live together in an apartment complex with their Maine Coon cat, Aurora. Sunrise writes a successful and popular fantasy series about two characters named Umbriel and Sol, and Moondrop has opted to live a completely private, normal life, with little to no media presence and caring for his spouse with not only his legal winnings, but his successful IT security job.

Holy Ground

Taylor has described Holy Ground as reminiscing on a past relationship, which the final is. The draft lyrics in the Lover Journal do not refer to it as a past relationship however, that was added later. The album arrangement of Holy Ground is upbeat, fast tempo, with State of Grace it was part of the anthemic opening of the Red Tour. In the 2019 BBC Live Lounge which was recorded in NY Taylor played it slow and sad:

Red Secret Message "When you came to the show in SD"

The Secret Message for Holy Ground is "When you came to the show in SD." Which may be Saint-Denis, the district and canal in Paris very close to Le Zenith which Taylor played on 17 March 2011.

They had the opportunity to meet when One Direction and Taylor were both in LA in 25-30 January 2011. This may be the referred to "first glance". Begin again shows them texting each other. From then until the 16 March they toured different countries.

One Direction had a 3 day weekend 16 - 19 March. Harry left Brighton the morning of 17 March. Taylor was in Paris on the 16, 17 and 18 March. Taylor then went to Madrid and Harry re-appeared at the O2 on 19 March. Thank you @cntfightmydemonsthyknowhowtoswim for these links.

This was the first show on the Speak Now Tour that Taylor played Fearless and Train's "Soul Sister" in a mash up, which appeared on/off for the rest of the tour. Soul Sister was Harry's X-Factor audition song.

They were then both in London and on Wednesday 23 March Taylor wore a white dress similar to the cover of Begin Again. Taylor was in London many times for the rest of the year

What about San Diego?

People have theorised that SD is her show in San Diego on 20 October 2011, suggestion Joe Jonas attended, however he was in Paris on that date. One Direction did have time off then though.

Why Paris? Paris features in the music videos for Begin Again, Everything has Changed, Falling, Paris Lyric video and the Love on Tour Images for What Makes you Beautiful.

What Taylor said about the song

In the Red album talk Taylor said she wrote the song about a past relationship and appreciated the relationship for what it was. Of note, she pauses *a lot*, like 6 times in 10 seconds, and pinches her hands, in the part where she says it was a past relationship.

Taylor said she wrote Holy Ground after seeing the muse in February 2012. In January, she had been 'holidaying' in London (having spent months there the year before) being papped walking alone. She speaks with no pauses once she talks about the production. She mentioned Jeff Bhasker, who worked on the song and went on to be one of Harry's main collaborators.

Lover Journal

Taylor also shared a Lover Journal (book 3) entry for March 16 2011, where in Paris, she said "My life is so beautiful right now. Every once in a while I have to remind myself to breathe and take in the view", later a Lyric in Paris and something Harry said on the Jonathan Ross show 16 November 2013.

The original lyrics to Holy Ground are on the next page (dated "February 2012", and not yet complete) with Love Story on the adjacent page. These February 2012 Lyrics are quite different, "Back when" and the last verses with "dust on every page" are missing, it is reminiscing, but not after a break up. It is likely the song was further developed when recorded mid-year and their relationship changed.

29 August 2019 - BBC Live Lounge recorded in NY (above) one of 6 songs. Harry was in London, on the 19th he lost the Rose Ring.

27 May 2023 - Eras Surprise Song, NJ, in a green dress with False God. "I feel pretty good about this song for tonight, it's called Holy Ground". It also replaced EHC in the recorded Red intro when the Joe Break up was announced in April 2023.

Lyrics

I was reminiscing just the other day While having coffee all alone, and Lord, it took me away Back to a first glance feeling on New York time Back when you fit my poems like a perfect rhyme

The first verse includes drinking coffee alone, coffee being a theme. Here Taylor drinks coffee alone, similar to Is it over now? “let's fast forward to 300 takeout coffees later" it is post-break up. This is in the original lyrics, but separated by distance.

The second half remembers a brief meeting and includes that Taylor and her muse travel a lot and share a love of poetry and rhyme.

The original lyrics differ here, importantly "back when" is missing, the relationship was still current and Taylor felt completed by the person. It was "Back to the first glance feeling on new time, you were the last word filling out the end of the rhyme"

Took off faster than a green light, go Yeah, you skip the conversation when you already know I left a note on the door with a joke we'd made And that was the first day

This second verse hits themes in Haylor songs of how quickly they fit:

Also skipping conversation is a theme of not communicating

The note on the door is visualised as a piece of paper on a hotel door in the lyric video. It reminds me of The Very First Night's "Didn't read the note on the Polaroid picture". This lyric also reminds me of Begin Again "I think it's strange that you think I'm funny, 'cause He never did"

And darling, it was good Never looking down And right there where we stood Was holy ground

The Chorus is the end of the February 2012 lyrics. "Holy" ground has always confused me, but I think the clue is in the secret message, it was "Saint" Denis.

The Crooked House of Windsor

This quirky, off-balance structure is famously known as The Crooked House of Windsor. 

It is a Grade II listed commercial building in Windsor, England, dating back 1687 AD.

The structure, which is also called The Market Cross House, was reconstructed in 18th century AD and now stands at “an outrageous slant.”

It has three storeys and bay windows at both the front and rear.

The Crooked House of Windsor is tilted at an awkward angle that seems to defy and even taunt the laws of gravity. But the building has not always been tilted.

The Crooked House of Windsor was originally built in 1592 AD, on the edge of the town’s market  square — thus its older name of the Market Cross House.

Originally, the structure was rented by a butcher because the area used to be the town’s meat market.

The original iteration of this structure spent her first 100 years as a normal, unremarkable commercial building.

That is, until 1687 AD, when the town council ordered the building to be torn down in order to make room for the neighboring Guildhall.

A dramatic legal battle ensued, which resulted in the council being rebuked for destroying the beloved Market Cross House and ordered to rebuild it just the way it was.

The bitter and impatient local council rebuilt the structure as quickly and as cheaply as possible.

Unseasoned green oak was used rather than a sturdier wood. So once the wood dried out, it buckled and warped.

Eventually, the house settled into its characteristic lean that you see today.

But there is an alternative hypothesis as to how the house became crooked.

Some historians point out that the structure remained at a straight angle up until 1820’s.

This was because it was sandwiched in by adjoining buildings, which would have supported it.

However, when these buildings were demolished in the 1820’s, the house had no side support and began to buckle and twist.

Evidence of this theory can be seen in an oil painting housed in the neighboring Guildhall.

During the Late Victorian period, when the painting was done, the Market Cross House was a beer shop known as Royal Standard.

The structure you see in the painting below doesn’t look nearly as crooked as what we see today.

Whatever the cause, this idiosyncratic beauty has a place in the hearts of many locals and is beloved by photographers around the world.

Over the centuries, The Market Cross House has hosted a butcher’s shop, a brewery, an antique shop, a tea house, and most recently, a jewelry store.

Another unique thing about the Crooked House of Windsor is a “secret” tunnel passage from the basement that purportedly connects the building with Windsor Castle.

This passageway was allegedly used by Charles II (29 May 1630 – 6 February 1685) to sneak out and meet his mistress, Nell Gwynn.

The Crooked House of Windsor last went on the market in 2015 for £1.5 million.

The problem is that I can’t find the picture that’s on the cake and since it was 2015 my mum just found this photo by searching Five Nights at Freddy’s but since fnaf has gotten very big and there’s now so many pictures of it, I can’t find this photo and I desperately need help

The year is 2012. I am browsing youtube a weekend while my family is watching a TV show I'm uninterested in. I stumble across a video that catches my interest. It's a music video in an anime style and I don't understand the japanese, but it seems to be about a girl trying to catch a flight while her friends are waiting for her. I watch it over and over. Who are these girls? this song is pretty good. I am unaware that there is and will be more content and lore about this group of girls. Fast forward a couple years. It's february 2015 and I'm sick at home. I still watch the music video every once in a while. My sisters enters the room and plugs her laptop into the HDMI on our TV. She said she found an anime I would like. It's called Love Live school idol project. Hmmmm... sounds familiar, but why? Oh it's them! The girls in the music video! I instantly love the show. A month later, it's march 18th 2015. I'm bored, so I go into the app store to see if there's any fun games to try. I remember the anime I recently watched and searches the title just to see if there is anything. Probably not. Oh, I was wrong, there's a game. I download it. It's pretty fun. I picked Honoka as my starter because I remember liking her a lot. I'm addicted. Love Live became my new special interest for years to come. It's been 8 years, the hyperfixation died down a bit, but I still keep Love Live close to my heart and I still play the game every once in a while. It's my comfort show, comfort game, comfort music and it has my comfort character all in one place after all.

It's march 31st 2023. I open the game for the last time. A chapter is ending. I wish you stayed for a bit longer, but I had fun. Thank you for all the memories. I draw the first card I ever had on the same account I've kept for all this time, but I'm unable to keep for the sequel. Thank you, School idol festival. Goodbye. I'm going to miss the anticipation for those big red envelopes.
