My Cookie Run Kingdom Hot Takes I’ve wanted to bitch about Part 1
There are too many Epic Cookies and not enough Commons and Rares
As of right now, with the addition of Peach Blossom, there’s 132 playable cookies
7 are Common
14 are Rare
You know how many Epics we have?
80!!!
That’s over 10 times as many Commons!

It’s more than all of the other rarities combined (yes I make a pie chart just for this post)
“Oh but why is that a big deal?”
First of all, it completely negates the point of the rarity system
The point of Common cookies is to be just that, common

Having too many epic cookies diminishes their value
Also, let’s be honest with ourselves, half of the epic don’t deserve to be epic
A lot of them suck and are completely forgettable
How often do you use Fig or Caramel Choux or Butter Roll?
Honestly you could downgrade half of these epics and no one would care
You could downgrade some of the SUPER EPICS and that would be fine cause let’s be real, some of those guys suck too
Not every new cookie needs to be an Epic, you can add a new rare or common every now and then
TLDR: too many Epics, new more Rares and Commons, Devsisters need to start downgrading some epics

unfunpleasures OFMD fic directory
I’m bad at using Tumblr now, but it feels like I should, at the very least, have a fic master post.
One-shots
Fig-ured Out: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated G; 1,526 words. Stede's online date doesn't show, but that doesn't mean his evening is a wash. A prompt fill for OFMD Fluffvember 2023 Day 7: First date | "It's pouring down out there."
24-Hour Pharmacy: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated T; 2,436 words. It’s New Year’s Eve and Ed is alone. Even better: he’s en route to the only drug store on this side of town that’s open all night tonight, and it’s after 11 and he’s risking life and limb (okay, that’s probably an exaggeration, but drunk drivers and weirdos abound on nights like this) to go grab a pregnancy test, some snacks, and a bottle of moscato (which depends on how the test goes) for his roommate Anne. Not like he had anything better planned, honestly– ordering takeout and watching TV with Anne had been his big plans for the evening– but it’s cold and dark and loud and he’s not super thrilled with how the night’s going. Then he meets someone in the snack aisle and he changes his tune a little.
It’s a Date: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated T; 2,769 words. Stede's a regular at the coffee shop Ed works at. They're both going to a party at Lucius', but Stede's bringing a date. Ed's bummed about it.
Help Me Make It Through the Night: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated E; 5,867 words. Ed’s a champion bull rider who’s just lost to relative-newcomer Stede Bonnet. On their respective drives out of Wyoming, a summer storm leaves them both looking for a place to stay. Written for OFMD AUgust 2024 Day 6: Rodeo and #OneBedWeek. (You can find the podfic here.)
Picking Flowers: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated G; 2,002 words. Stede decides to pick some flowers and gets caught in the act. Written for the OFMD Gotcha For Gaza event.
Longfics
Kings River, 1969: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated E; 33,155 words. Fresno County, CA, June 1969. The mighty Kings River runs through the San Joaquin Valley of California, beginning as snowmelt in the high Sierras and running over 132 miles down the valley to where it terminates near what used to be Tule Lake. Besides providing a haven for wildlife and fishermen alike, there are multiple powerhouses along its course, and it provides irrigation for over a million acres of farmland, including several dozen acres of citrus along the south bank of the lower river in Piedra. This was the domain of one Edward Teach: 29 years old, single, and trying his damndest to keep his criminal record from getting any longer. Ed works on a citrus farm along the Kings River and newly-divorced Stede Bonnet, fresh from Tennessee, has just taken a job as a horse trainer at the ranch up the road. Written for AU-gust 2023 day 14: place-based.
Stationary: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated E; 111,161 words. Edward Teach has made a massive mistake-- what's a few more? A Gentlebeard lovers to exes to lovers fic set in the modern era. (You can find the ongoing podfic here.)
Night Moves: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated E; 56,938 words. Ed and Stede are friends, but maybe also something more. Inspired by the 1976 Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet Band song of the same name.
SMAUs
Ask a Punk: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated E; ongoing. Ed Teach is a barista who lives at and co-runs a DIY space. Money is tight and times are tough, so when he literally runs into trust fund kid Stede Bonnet, whom he recognizes from the cafe as one of his regulars, at the local university, his housemates convince him to rope him in as a bankroll. Stede is game to help out, but it quickly becomes clear that neither has their mind solely on business. (You can find the Twitter thread here.)
Series
Drive Me, Crazy: Blackbeard/Edward Teach and Stede Bonnet; Rated E; ongoing. California, 1974. Stede Bonnet is fairly new to trucking, which he started as a means of getting some time away from his failing marriage. He enjoys the time on the road, but he finds it a bit lonely-- that is, until he meets seasoned driver Edward Teach. Series includes (in order): Daydreams About Night Things, Drive Me, Crazy, Still Thinkin' Bout You, 'Till The Rivers All Run Dry (longfic), Home For the Haulidays (Christmas one-shot), Baby, It's Pure Love (Valentine's Day one-shot), and Here In Love (CJizzy one-shot).

pomegranates in judaism
pomegranates have deep significance within judaism. they are thought to have 613 seeds, similar to the 613 mitzvot (commandments) that observant jews adhere to. of course, there aren’t necessarily 613 seeds in every pomegranate let alone one, this is just and old-age theory that is shared for historical/nostalgic/religious reasons.
rosh hashanah
pomegranates are often the fruit of choice of a rosh hashanah*** tradition of eating a “new fruit.” a new fruit is a fruit someone hasn’t eaten in a long time. in sephardic*** tradition, it is customary to have a rosh hashanah seder***, in which a pomegranate is one of the foods incorporated into it.
jewish texts
pomegranates are also mentioned in jewish texts, as well as being listed as one of the “seven species”***:
a pomegranate was one of the things brought back by the spies who scouted the land of canaan*** (torah, numbers 13:1-15:41)
pomegranates decorate the robes of a high priest (torah, exodus 27:20-30:10)
a wife of a rabbi disguises herself as a sex worker and seduces him, demanding a freshly picked pomegranate as a form of payment (talmud, kiddushin 81b)
many judaica*** is adorned in pomegranates, such as torah scrolls, mezuzot***, kippot***, candle holders
coins
pomegranates are found on ancient judean coins. recently, a coin was discovered dated to the bar kokhba revolt*** in 132-136 CE.

hope you learned something new ♡
*** glossary

seven species: seven products that are listed in the torah as being special types of species; it includes wheat, barley, grape, figs, pomegranates, olive (oil), and date (date honey)
judaica: jewish literature, customs, culture (examples include mezuzot, kippot, menorah, candles used for jewish observances, etc.)
mezuzot (singular → mezuzah): a small decorative case that holds a parchment with religious writing; placed on the doorpost of jewish homes
kippot (singular → kippah): also known as a yarmulke or skullcap, it is circular in shape and traditional placed on the head of jewish men, but women and gender non-confirming folks wear them as well

Below is a review I previously wrote for the famous folklore collection by famed folklore scholar Alan Dundes. It indirectly addresses modern horror in that horror films, stories and folklore are about a perceived threat to society (or human life), and folklore as an oral tradition or even in its various modern literary oicotypes is discussed below as a threat to modern but specifically literate society…
“Folklore has a life of its own”
There is a separation between folklore itself and ‘folkloristics’ (the study of folklore) and at times it appears as unbridgeable as the distance between quantum particles and a physics textbook. Certainly from the perspective of social systems theory, there is no objective separation - both are part of the same ongoing description of modern society. Nonetheless, “a controversy has raged for many years among folklorists over the very definition of their subject matter; . . . The point at issue was whether folklore should be confined to the study of survivals from the past, to phenomena which in the nature of things are approaching exhaustion, or whether it should also include the new manufacture of a certain class of data possessing the same characteristics as the familiar survivals.” (p. 92) From a certain academic perspective then, if “[p]rint is a contaminator, a reverser and freezer of versions” (p. 15) and if, “once recorded, very little subsequent use may be made of . . . archival collections [which] often moulder on our shelves waiting for the professional folklorist, or someone else . . .” (p. 280), then folklore becomes frozen strangely enough, living only in the shadows of a ‘print’ and now a ‘digital’ society. Academics here walk a narrow line where they “must always be on . . . guard against rewriting” or “the marks of artistic handling” (p. 15) regarding “tales . . . of popular tradition . . . considerably more timeless than manuscripts. . .” (p. 240). Peeking through the trees of this vast forest, one can sense underneath all this academic detritus that this ‘timeless’ material is actually quite fun. At times the whole book left me wanting to ask (some of) the academic purists within, as the Joker (a more modern form of the trickster one could say) puts it- ‘why so serious?’ Does entertainment have to be removed entirely to count as analysis? Even if origins remain somewhat mysterious, entertainment perhaps is taken as not serious enough or too “obvious” (p. 33) for scholars who are desperate to discuss the ‘repressed’ meaning or the ‘function’ of these magical tales. At times, the scholars seem to act as if the audience is unaware of what is happening, as if people do not understand a fart joke about the trickster Coyote well enough (p. 212), as if only academics can unleash the hidden meaning on a deeper level than ‘mere entertainment’. Any student of Mel Brooks I’m sure might argue that the repressed when put on display for an audience is entertaining precisely because it has been repressed. I do see now that one scholar is concerned that “folklore cannot be dismissed simply as a form of amusement.” (p. 290) This compelling article notes that “beneath a great deal of humor lies a deeper meaning [and the] same is true for . . . fantasy[.]” (p. 290) Thus one can sense the conflict between folklore which in “many nonliterate societies . . . is highly regarded” (p. 293) and modern social systems that might downplay the importance of such primarily oral communication occurring outside of what a literate society might deem to be its ‘most crucial subsystems’. To my mind, amusement allows the paradox to become naked in a sense, even if the humor itself might function as “a fig leaf” (p. 132). Humor for example allows discussion of “the cheating and tricks of the priests, the rascality of a chief—things about which everyone knew, but concerning which one might not ordinarily speak in public.” (p. 290) But as a systems theorist might, we could perhaps ask the question of academics - what are they repressing? What is their blind spot? Wherein lies the dark wood that scholars dare not enter? Academics are their own sort of chiefs and priests we might begin to suspect. To apply the idea of “Interdiction” (p. 209) equally to a John Carpenter film and to the Cheyenne oral tradition about Coyote failing to heed (direct and literal) warnings against overusing his magical powers seems to me scientifically unsound.
This book does not offer such a direct comparison between modern forms and traditional, but others have been tempted in this direction, and from the example you can see the difficulty with using traditional folklore (or traditional folklore studies) as a measure of more modern forms of popular entertainment. Still, just as social systems theorists are concerned with the self-generation of social systems, folklorists too make similar claims that “the spread of folktales from one society to another is strictly comparable to the spread of tobacco, a religious ritual or concept, a tool or a technique, or a legal principle. Again, there is the question of acceptance or rejection, and if accepted the subsequent modification to fit the new item into the other cultural patterns, a process which anthropologists speak of as integration.” (pp. 29-30) Setting aside for the moment the apparent blunder (from the systems theory perspective) of handling separate ‘cultures’ as ‘societies’, the social systems theorist might note that the transcribing or “acceptance” of an “item” of folklore into literate form might be considered a type of modification or integration of folklore into a literate ‘culture’ or, as they say, modern society. The same insightful article points to what I would say is perhaps the most important question - if “folklore is one of the human universals[,] . . . why [has] the importance of folklore . . . decreased as the written and printed word have spread and mechanical devices such as phonographs, radio, moving picture, . . . television [and now the Internet] have been developed”?(p.296) This article offers a few hints at the differentiation of modern subsystems, but a most profound insight is the possibility that modern integrations of folklore might in fact act as opposition to literate forms and might even “suggest that the individual destroy or even disregard the institutions and conventions of society”. (p. 297) One article asks this rhetorical question in describing the “paradox of folklore…”, and the question might be whether folklore and its modern incarnations in the form of conspiracy theory, gossip, rumor, disinformation and even counterintelligence, might conceivably threaten (or function as a threat) to collapse the very differentiation which defines modern society.
From the perspective of a literate, differentiated (modern) society, folklore in a sense could be perceived as a form of totalitarianism (or as intellectuals might describe it- as a form of ‘anti-intellectualism’). Folk horror genre in its modern form might be described essentially as an exploration of such a collapse of modern differentiation. This might also help explain why totalitarian strains of communication such as communism and fascism seek to control popular forms of art and entertainment to such a degree. Still even in liberal democratic segments of global society, one could argue that at least outside the confines of the narrow academic discipline itself, folklore is threatening to power, and is generally denigrated as a source of information or authority. See for example the official Air Force report on the Roswell incident, dismissing conspiracy theories about Roswell as “folklore”. Unfortunately perhaps from the perspective of the Air Force and other social institutions of gravitas, like much of communication/society, folklore appears to have a life of its own…

Miraculous Fandom Stats
Miraculous Paris Special
I was wondering if the Miraculous Paris Special has generated more excitement than the other specials or is it just me connecting with my past punky girl?
I also wondered if this was measurable - and possibly translate to more fanfics on Ao3.
I’ve definitely seen a lot of art and have also gone on an art binge myself @hamsterdraws (but I don’t know how to quantitate posts on Tumblr). So here is my attempt to quantitate my obsession with these emo kids!
Reblog don’t repost!
📈 The data presented here is a snapshot of the Ao3 database as of December 17, 2023.
🖤 Fics Posted to Ao3
It’s only been since October 15, 2023 [1], but the preview was shown straight after the Season 5 finale in July. So overall there has been almost 6 months of speculation and hype surrounding the TV Special.

Fig 1. Total number of fics posted that has been tagged with the Miraculous Paris Special (sample size of 80) [2].
🖤 How does it compare against the other specials?
From my own opinion, I was way more excited about seeing the evil counterparts of my blorbos than seeing them do the same Lovesquare dance again. So is is just me?
Fig 2. Total number of fanfics for each Miraculous special or movie.
I think the numbers reflect the positive uptake of the Paris Special. In the first two months alone there are twice as many fics as Miraculous Shanghai.
Fig 3. Time-adjusted number of fics posted to Ao3 per month since aired. The lighter shaded bar takes into account the public release date and not the trailer date.
For a better comparison, I included the movie because it was released at roughly the same time the teaser trailer. Even though the characters were roughly the same in the movie as the TV show, they had slightly different personality traits.
Fig 4. Number of fics written about them per month in the first six months following their release dates.
The arrow indicates when the Paris Special was televised and the preceding months were based on the teaser trailer. At the time of posting, we are only halfway through December and more fics may be posted by the end of the year.
🖤 What did I learn?
On all appearances, Miraculous World: New York - United HeroeZ had more fanfics, but keep in mind that this was released in September 26, 2020 [3].
There appears to be an initial flurry of fanfics posted on Ao3 using tags for the Miraculous Special: New York, however this excitement has petered out gradually. While the Miraculous Paris Special has yet to reach that initial number, only two months has elapsed since it was publicly aired.
The Miraculous Movie on the other hand was released a few months before the Miraculous Special aired and it had generated much less fanfiction - or at least were not tagged [4-5].
In conclusion, it appears that the Miraculous Paris Special has been received well by the fans. I would be interested to see if this trend continues or if like the New York special, the fics will fizzle out.
🖤 Total Number of Fics Tagged
Miraculous Paris Special (80 Fics)
Miraculous Shanghai (33 fics)
Miraculous New York (177 fics)
Miraculous Movie (40 fics)
Miraculous Christmas Special (9 fics)
Miraculous Origins (31 fics)
Miraculous s05e28 Action (0 fics)
More numbers for the other Miraculous World specials and references below the cut.
🖤 Number of fics tagged with New Characters

👣 Ghosts & Spirit Index - Chasing Shadows in Java: The Genderuwo, the Hairy Sentinel of Coffee
Bandung, West - Java
I first thought that the first growl was the macaque. Then my flashlight went dead. The air grew thick, as if breathing through a damp cloth. And then I saw him, a giant shadow whose eyes glowed like pieces of kopi tubruk embers, the sentinel of coffee trees.
As we travelled through Bandung, I learned about the Genderuwo, and how it is no ordinary specter. This bulky, apelike abomination, shag of coarse black fur hanging from his hulking body, is Bigfoot as conceptualized by the Indonesians if only Bigfoot harbored the craving for shoplifting sarongs and stoning tipsy villagers. In contradistinction with tragic Sundel Bolong, or Kutilanak, however, Genderuwo stands as a detracting guardian, one situated a boundary stages between guardianship and vexation.
“Genderuwo are not devils nor gods. They are “penuggu”, place guardians tied to specific trees, caves, or vacant land.” (Wessing, R.2006, p. 134-137).
So why plantations? These ghosts follow “old growth forests”, but where the jungles of Java are gone, they’ve moved to coffee estates, especially those on volcanic ridges or at sacred springs. Genderuwo also patrol land; when loggers raze their homes, they relocate to plantations (Guerrero, 2017, p. 130-132). Farmers avow that Genderuwo punish other people who overcrop or are negligent to the land (Neilson, 2018, p. 7-9). Certain Dunkun (shamans) believe certain Genderuwo are the spirits of indentured workers from Dutch coffee plantations (Bubandt, 2014, p. 89-94).
The classic signs of a Genderuwo as I’ve come to find out include unusual sounds, like tree knocking, and guttural laughter. Stolen equipment, and stolen coffee cherries is also another sign. There are also accounts of physical pranks, such as ghostly hands pulling hair, and throwing rocks at intruders.
One farmer near Malabar recently told me “He swiped my hat. Three days later, I found it hanging on a waru tree, full of good coffee berries I’d forgotten to pick.”
But not everything is nice. Some Genderuqwo are aggressive, especially if their dwelling is entered. In 2019, a kopi luwak parcher in Garut vowed a Genderuwo pushed him into a ravine for foraging too close to a sacred fig tree.
The locals try to appease Java’s hairy ghosts in similar ways they do with the Kuntilanak, leaving Sesajen or offerings of cigarettes, sticky rice, or palm wine at the base of old trees. They also call upon Dukun or shamans to perform ruwatan (exorcism ceremonies) to satisfy the spirit. They also use avoidance tactics, like painting “Genderuwo trees” with red cloth and never crop by them in the dark.
“You don’t defeat the Genderuwo. You negotiate with it. This is their land, we’re just taking a loan.” Interview with Pak Dedi, Coffee Farmer (Pangalengan, 2023).
Myths of Genderuwo are purported to enforce sustainable agriculture by some researchers. Fear of counter attack deters overcropping, soil fertility (Acciaioli, 2004, p. 712-715).
The were called “boschduivels” (forest devils) by the Dutch (Mrazek, 2002, p. 45) and documented attacks on overseers. Coincidence that the most intense hauntings are found in 19th-century estates ruins? I don’t think so.
In 2021, a French agronomist filming a documentary close to Mt. Papandayan captured a hairy figure running between rows of coffee on thermal imaging. The proof? “Inconclusive.” The farmer's responses? “Told you so.”
As a ghost hunter, I’ve learned that the Genderuwo is a cryptid, but even that does not do it justice. It’s a portent, a warning that Java’s paddies and forests are not only full of rice. In an age of monoculture and global warming, we might as well require these ghosts to remind us how things used to be.
Now if you’ll excuse me, I’m off to leave some kretek cigarettes by that suspiciously large durian tree. Just in case.

Just call me M! I'm a 21 year old man who loves domesticated, game and ornamental fowl, as well as growing edible gardens. You wont see much about it here, as i do not currently keep any but I also love koi and goldfish.
my favorite types of things to grow is exactly what other people aren't growing. i like to grow what makes people ask, "what is that" or "ive never tried it." I am in USDA hardiness zone 6b. My soil loves cucumbers and root vegetables.
I am a firm believer in trying any fruit, herb, vegetable or meat (that is safe of course...) because if i turn down trying it, I'll always regret not learning.
If i cant eat or steep it, im not very interested, though i do have a soft spot for climbing flowers and unique flowers.
My favorite fruits are in no particular order, cherimoya, melons (excluding watermelon), mulberry, passionfruit, lychee, and cucumber.

A fine, rare and well proportioned North European two handed sword (hand and a half sword). The hilt, which retains much of its original blackening to the iron parts, is an impressively chiselled example of the early 16th century armourer’s craft. The flat, downwardly curved quillons, widening towards square-ended terminals, with central rope-twist decoration in raised relief on both sides, plus the deeply grooved pommel with fluted ridges, mark this sword out as a member of a distinct and unique group of North European two-handed swords. So far as we know, only six of this type are presently identified.
The broad blade is single edged with a thick spine beneath which two fullers each side extend from the hilt for 40% of its length, after which the blade is double edged and of lenticular section. Three crescent-shaped notches are applied at the end of the spine. An armourers mark of facing crescents terminating in ovals, with a further oval imbetween, flanked by trefoils of diamond shaped dots is present on one side a short distance from the hilt. The marks are most likely of a Passau smith.

The hub of the cross is formed as a thick bar of rectangular section. The distinctive quillons are rounded nearest the block and expand in vertically flattened form towards their terminals and are decorated with raised diagonally grooved rope-like lines along the middles which are flanked by further incised lines. Two horizontal ring guard bars of thick round section are applied to the sides, each formed with two raised knops with similar “roped” finish. Beneath the cross, a downward facing round section bar of open crescent shape is applied. Two further crescents, also decorated with knops, are forged onto the terminals of this bar and rise at 45 degrees to attach to, and strengthen, the side rings.
The pommel is of upturned pear shape and formed with eight equally spaced deep grooves which radiate from the pommel top to its base. The surfaces of the ridges imbetween are cut with narrow lines alternating in vertical, and diagonally vertical form, similar in depth and spacing as the lines which form the rope designs on the guard. The guard and the pommel retain much of the original blackened finish. The waisted stepped grip is of wood covered with leather over a cord wrap. The blade length is 41.5 inches (105.5 cm) and overall is 52 inches (132 cm) long.
These large swords were not just for two-handed use. They were designed to be used equally well with one hand by a trained user. In the 16th century such swords were quite common on European battlefields, carried by armies fighting wars almost permanently during a time of shifting religious and political change. As fashions moved towards the beginning of the 17th century they went out of use and today are rare compared to the survival rates of two-handed swords of the “bearing sword” variety – large, well made, imposing and decorous, but designed mainly to be carried point up in civic procession rather than for use in combat.
One fine example, almost identical to ours, is illustrated in “Records of the Medieval Sword”, Ewart Oakeshott, St Edmundsbury Press, 1991, page 241, which sold through Peter Dale Ltd of London before 1982. The same example is illustrated in “The Price Guide to Antique Edged Weapons”, Leslie Southwick, Antique Collectors Club, 1982, page 29, fig 49).
Oakeshott comments that another sword in the Victoria & Albert Museum in London (Inventory Number M.602-1927) and illustrated in “European Swords”, Anthony North, page 6 fig 3, has an identical hilt apart from the guard having one branch.
A third example is illustrated in “Edged Weapons in Sweden”, Staffan Kinman, Stockholm, 2014, page 29, fig 26b, and is similar to the British Museum example. Oakeshott comments on another in Zurich (Schweizerisches Landesmuseum Inventory Number LM 16933). A fifth sword with similar characteristics is also illustrated in Southwick (as above) fig 48, its location unknown.

Two handed sword, Northern Europe, circa 1520

"The Silk Worm." From the Maha Upanishad, the Exploration of the Mysteries of the Atman.
V-128. ‘The potent Spirit, thus degenerating into dense egoism, passes voluntarily into bondage as a silk-worm in its cocoon.
V-129. ‘And, like a lion in chains, becomes totally dependent finding itself within a net of its own imaginings and nothing more.
V-130. ‘Sometimes (it operates as) mind, sometimes as intellect; sometimes as cognition; sometimes as (pure) action. Sometimes it is egoism and sometimes it is held to be what is thought.
V-131. ‘Sometimes it is called Prakriti and sometimes it is held to be Maya. Sometimes it is designated a ‘flaw’ and sometimes referred to as ‘action’.
V-132. ‘Sometimes it is proclaimed as bondage and sometimes accounted the ‘eight-fold case’. Sometimes it is said to be avidya and sometimes it is identified with ‘desire’.
V-133. ‘Bearing within itself, as its seeds the fig-tree, this entire empirical sphere that fashions the cords of cravings, the Jiva is verily A a tree sans fruits.
The Upanishads explain creation as unity between Purusha, the Spirit, and its natural substratum, Mother Nature called Prakriti. Prakriti determines that water will flow downward, heat will flow from more to less, whether you are right or left handed, etc.
You may be very good at playing the piano, not so good at the clarinet, and no amount of practice will change this, so you choose the one you are better at. To understand Prakriti in its essence is to become free from the practices of that do not coincide with nature and find ways to hum along with the rest.
This includes being gay, black, Jewish, female, transgender, how to be tall, short, young or old, to be a neatnik or a slob in the ways God intended without bias. To perform in life according to a bias is to become bound to a thing in an unnatural way and this includes things we apparently like- too many drugs, too much alcohol, too much sex too little exercise, anything that keeps us from balance and duty by choice consists of self-bondage rather than Prakriti and must be unbound from the Self a thread at a time.
This includes religious wrappings. Unnatural Self-bondage to religious nonsense, to things many consider unnatural is a real problem for this world.
They are just books. They were written by persons who trust in God to help us become an excellent human race. If that is not happening, then the book is a tree without a fruit. One can stop and find another way to become normal, natural, content, lawful, happy, and participate. The Spirit of God cannot be removed or scared off or deleted from this Place of Worship.
It is helpful to read a book, and certainly many have Him and them through the reading of a book, but they were drafted to free us from sins of ignorance and desire, not enmire us in this tenuous, exceedingly odd and awkward reality we are clambering within.
Ignore the weird politicians and shamans and priests that are screwing with your heads and really, truly read what the books have to say and then bind oneself to a comparable truth in the real live natural world and this will all turn out just fine.

vro0m’s rewatch - 118/304
2013 British GP
Welcome back to Silverstone! You’re not ready for that drama believe me.
LEWIS IS ON POLE! Almost half a second ahead of Rosberg! Let's gooo! The journalist says what they saw in quali was "the Lewis of old". I like that. It speaks to me. I love him hungry and fighting.
Oh. My. God. The summary shows so much Lewis content! I'm excited!
But let's start by taking a look at the championship standings : Seb is comfortably ahead with 132 points, followed by Alonso with 96, Raikkonen with 88 and Lewis with 77. Mercedes is also currently third in the WCC.
Quali report. Jenson couldn't get into Q3, neither could Perez. Ferrari and Lotus criticized Pirelli for bringing the hard and medium tyres, saying it was too conservative. Alonso barely made it into Q3, while Massa couldn't. Raikkonen was outqualified by Grosjean. Di Resta was 5th but he got disqualified for… brace yourself… an underweight car. Yep. Underweight. Seb is ahead of Webber. Lewis was unhappy with the balance of the car in FPs but he still took pole position.
Lewis is with Martin Brundle, in the paddock, surrounded by fans, to talk about the pole lap. He says they have the best fans there in the UK, of course. He's very proud that he got the pole for them. Oh he says the pit straight is bumpy so the car is bottoming. Very foreshadowing lol. He's explaining his lap I understand about 5% of what he's talking about but he's loving it so I'm loving it. He has a stuffy nose. Brundle says he must have known immediately– but Lewis cuts him off : no, you never do, because Nico has been particularly quick. He didn't even look at the dashboard, and then a couple of turns later he was told Seb had crossed the line and he was on pole. Brundle asks if he can try to make these people happy (and gestures to the small crowd around them) at the end of the race. Lewis says he'll try his best.
OHhh Webber has announced his retirement I guess?
Oh. My. God. They did a British quiz with all the British drivers so Lewis, Jenson, Max Chilton and Paul Di Resta. (also Johnny and Anthony). Lewis is eating a lollipop 😭
Jenson is CHEATING massively and even admits it.
So round 1 was British questions, I guess. Round 2 is F1 related question. First off they have a composite image of 5 drivers and they have to find out who they are. Lewis is remarkably good at it, but he might also have cheated. He finds 4 out of 5 of them quickly.
Then they have to guess who are the blacked out people on podium pictures. Round 3. One person in each team (Johnny and Anthony) are blindfolded and have to guess what they are eating. First was fig, it's alright. But the second one is pickled onion and they're not too happy about it, though the four drivers are having the time of their life. Third is mustard. Four is something called gherkin (? I guess it’s just pickles in British English). Then anchovy paste. I mean it's just torture at this point and they're all giggling like school kids. Lewis’ team wins 11 to 7. He receives a toy bone for Roscoe!
During the drivers' parade Lewis talks again about the fans and how many came and bla bla bla.
He says it's surreal and the support means everything to them. It'll be hard to keep the Redbulls behind but they'll do everything they can.
The grid walk is lasting ages, can we race please?
Alright, here we go.
Formation lap
They're racing!
Amazing start for Lewis while Seb overtakes Nico. Massa also had an unbelievable start, he's up 6 places! Lewis sets the fastest lap, but he's only 1.2 seconds ahead of Seb. This is not going to be easy.
Ohhh fuck.
Lewis has a puncture. Like a serious completely-destroyed-tyre-puncture. I at least hope he can go back out once he gets to the pit but that's a long way to go, there might be further damage at this point. Damn it was so sudden and the tyre disintegrated for some reason… loads of tyre debris on the track. Lewis is sent out again. He's dead last, of course. We're on lap 10.
Same for Massa??? Same tyre. He spun. But he's driving back to the pits as well. Alonso and Webber pit, they might be expecting a Safety Car but it doesn't come. Green flags all around again. Brundle says Massa has more damage than Lewis but he's also sent out. Rosberg pits from P2. Lewis is up in 18th already. Seb is called in. He's still in the lead and Rosberg is still P2.
AND ANOTHER ONE?! It's JEV this time. Same tyre, same damage! Honestly wtf Pirelli? This race should be red flagged, it's dangerous af. What is happening. Raikkonen almost received a huge piece of tyre in the head. Yes, they're sending the Safety Car out. There's so much debris on the track. The drivers are told to keep off the kerbs. Lewis is P14 now. Lap 20.
The Safety Car comes in. There's a four way battle between Sutil, Alonso, Raikkonen and Grosjean for P3. No DRS at the moment but they're all under a second from each other. Lewis is attacking Gutierrez for P13. It's done. Everything is close. Lewis is now P12. It's lap 30.
Alonso pits. Grosjean pits. Lewis is P9. P8. He's now attacking Di Resta who gets called in anyway and Raikkonen is just behind him as well. He gets overtaken. By Alonso as well? Well they do have fresh tyres I believe. At least fresher than his. Force India double stack their drivers. Rosberg pits from P2, he's out in P2. Seb pits from the lead in answer. He's still ahead. Webber overtakes Alonso for P4. JEV retires. Lewis pits, he's out in 11th, and gets immediately overtaken by Di Resta. But he doesn't give up and attacks back. It doesn't work. Lewis gets the DRS. It's very close. Lewis gets ahead!
Lap 41, Lewis up in P10. Oh! HO! SEB SLOWED DOWN, ROSBERG IS IN THE LEAD. "Lost drive, lost the gearbox". It's over for him. Safety car is out, he's stopped in the pit straight, they can't get him there. 10 laps to go. Rosberg pits. Webber pits. 9 laps to go. 8 laps to go. Rosberg is told they think one of his tyre is starting to delaminate? But he just pitted. Or was that from before his stop? The lapped cars are unlapping themselves. 7 laps to go. Here they go again. 6 laps to go. P8. ANOTHER TYRE FAILURE HOLY SHIT. It's a McLaren. Perez. 5 laps to go. Yellow flags. P7. Perez is out, there's too much damage to the floor. Alonso overtakes Ricciardo for P5 but here comes Lewis and he's up in P6! 4 laps to go. Webber overtakes Raikkonen for P2. Alonso overtakes Sutil for P4, Lewis is half a second behind… 3 laps to go. And Lewis is up in P5! 2 laps to go. Alonso overtakes Raikkonen for the podium. LEWIS IN P4! Final lap! He's just half a second behind Alonso but that's a lot to ask.
It's the end of the race!
Rosberg wins ahead of Webber and Alonso. Lewis went from P1 to P22 to P4, what a recovery. And these exploding tyres are seriously concerning.
We hear from Paul Hembry, the Pirelli motorsport director. They are currently analysing the tyres to understand what happened and get the facts. They'll let people know when they have the answers. The journalists ask further questions but he basically just says they can't answer until they're done with the analysis.
Alright let's hear from Lewis.
Natalie Pinkham asks if it's similar to losing a tyre on a highway. He says it's just as dangerous, if not more. (His body language is very low energy). He says it's very unfortunate, the fans have been great, it looked like they were on their way to a win, the car was great… but big congratulations to Nico and the team. He's just glad he was able to catch up and get some points. Yeah lol thanks Natalie, I was about to write that going from 22 to 4 wasn't just "catching up" and so she says, and then asks if it's not rather spectacular finishing where he finished after what happened. Definitely, he agrees. Back there he doubted he could get any point at all, so he's very grateful for the result and he's looking forward to the next race because given how well the car was performing, they have more chances of winning.
She asks about the testing they did with Pirelli and how the argument in defense of it was that it was to work on the tyres, "clearly more work needs to be done". He looks down and hums. He looks up and smiles. He's uncomfortable, clearly he's been instructed about this topic. "Yeah… I don't know really what to say!" he chuckles.
He's just gonna bite his tongue and hold it in, he says with a wide smile, shifting his weight from one foot to the other.
"But does it concern you in terms of safety?" she asks in a softer tone. "Yep." He nods. "Big time, but um…"
He looks serious."They need to do something."
We hear his radio at the end of the race. Brawn congratulates him for a wonderful drive and says he's sorry it didn't work out. He says "fantastic job this weekend guys, it's a shame about the tyre."

Plumeria Han and Butterfly Jun
I don't have a lot of figs by this artist, so I enjoy the ones I have! They're a bit smaller and thinner than most of mine, so they have a more delicate air about them.
This set is actually even more delicate because it's made out of resin. I like resin figs because of the fine detail that the material makes possible, but they give me all kinds of heart palpitations because of their fragility.

Luckily, they arrived perfectly! You can tell they are resin because of the plastic cutout foam shipping box - this is standard due to the extra level of protection needed. The shipping box also came with this incredibly cute artwork on the outside!
The inspiration for these figs comes from this much-loved series of pictures of Zhehan with plumeria flowers.

Junjun wore his butterfly shirt during filming on the Chinese Restaurant show (June 2021).

Very handsome, and very summery! Perfect for a beachy vacation indeed.

Here these figs are, being adorable with the box. I really should put them in my Instagram diorama box with a bunch of sand and shells. Look forward to that, my delightful figthusiast friends!

You can tell I really struggled to take a pic of them head on. I kept wanting Junjun to take Zhehan's pic!

This is a particularly cute side view. You can really see the blush on Zhehan's cheeks and his legs.

I rarely see two brown-haired figs in a Junzhe set together, so this is a nice sun-kissed beachy look. You can really see the height difference here.

Poor Zhehan looks like he got some sun on the back of his legs!

Here's a close up of the adorable art.

And the the other side of the box, showcasing more of these two cuties. Both artistic renderings are the same height here, which is definitely not the case when they became figs!
Material: Resin
Fig Count: 132
Diorama Count: 7
Snowglobe Count: 1
Rating: Look at the camera, bao!
