the day has finally come. today is the day of the casting for priscilla.
you are finding it hard to contain your excitement. this is going to be your first big film--if you made the cast. you are hoping to be casted as priscilla.
you don't know any of the other people that are also going to the casting, but you are definitely excited and open to meeting people.
so here you are, in your car on your way to the location. knowing that sofia coppola (the director) had reached out to you to try out for the role of priscilla, you know you have a pretty good shot at getting the role. this makes you even more excited.
when you step inside the crowded building, you feel slightly nervous, but you push it to the side and force yourself to be excited and social.
sofia instantly recognizes you from a corner in the room of people. she quickly mutters something to the person she's speaking to before turning to face you with a joyful smile and approaching you.
"y/n! i'm so glad you made it!" sofia exclaims, placing her hands on your shoulders and you chuckle, nodding.
"me too! i can't believe i'm here," you confess.
sofia shakes her head with a smile before leaning close to your ear, "don't tell anybody, but out of everyone here today, you definitely fit priscilla's looks the best."
this makes your heart do somersaults and you gaze at her in disbelief, "really?"
sofia nods intently, "yep. now all you have to do now is show me if you have what it takes acting wise."
you grin, exhaling deeply, "i won't let you down."
once you are in the room among all the other girls auditioning for the role of priscilla, you bounce your knee up and down nervously in your seat as you wait for your name to be called.
when a casting associate enters the room, he calls your name and you gasp quietly, standing up from your seat. he looks at you with a smile before ushering you towards him, "this way, please."
he walks you into the next room. it's just a plain, empty room, the only people in it are sofia and a casting director sitting at a table in front of the acting space.
you stand in the middle of the acting space as the casting director goes to grab your scene partner to play as elvis.
when he comes back into the room, your face drops and your heart drops to your toes when you see who's behind him.
and it's none other than jacob elordi. your ex.
when jacob looks at you, it seems as if he has the same exact reaction. his expression falls and he almost stops dead in his tracks when he sees you.
when the casting associate sits in his chair beside sofia, you look up at jacob--who is now standing in front of you--with shock in your eyes. you don't notice your lips parting at the sight of him as pure disbelief washes over your body.
you and jacob hadn't exactly ended on good terms. to be quite clear, you were enemies.
your relationship came to an end when you came home from an audition for a different movie. you were filled with joy as you walked through the door as you had just been told you got the part, and you couldn't wait to tell jacob.
but when you walked into your bedroom to see him fucking some blonde slut, all your joy was washed away and was replaced with heartbreak.
the heartbreak never really went away. there was no denying you still had feelings for jacob, regardless of the fact that your relationship ended 2 years ago. the love never went away, but you somehow strongly hated him at the same time.
when jacob awkwardly clears his throat, it snaps you out of the memory and you turn your head to look at sofia sat at the table.
"you two may begin reciting your lines," she says with a warm smile, anticipating your performances.
you swallow hard, now internally panicking as you worry that jacob being your scene partner is going to make you mess up and fail miserably.
however, you push it to the side and exhale deeply in attempt to calm yourself down and focus on your lines.
"how've you been?" jacob's voice snaps you out of your thoughts as you walk to your car.
you jump at his voice, looking next to you to see his tall frame. "go away, jacob," you say, your voice clear with hurt.
jacob scoffs, chuckling cockily, "c'mon, don't give me that, y/n," he says. his voice takes you back to the happiest times of your relationship and all you want to do is scream and run away. you don't want to allow yourself to fall for him all over again.
"don't wanna hear you...at all, actually. go home," you say coldly, staring in front as you as you walk faster--desperate to get away from him, but it doesn't take him long to match your pace.
"listen to me," he says, his tone deep and slightly serious. you ignore him, continuing to walk.
suddenly, jacob grabs ahold of your wrist and you gasp, shuddering as you turn to face him. his brown hair is swept over his face as it blows in the cool wind. he has a serious, but soft expression on his face.
"it's better to just...to just be on good terms. i'm really looking forward to filming this movie, and since it's going to be with you, i want to enjoy working with you. i don't want to have to be working with someone who doesn't want to be working with me--and i know you don't want to work with me--but please, please just push everything to the side for now for the sake of our performance," jacob pours out and you feel the panic rising in your body at his words.
you look at jacob with disbelief, anger growing in your expression and you scoff, "push everything to the side, jacob? really? are you fucking dumb?" you say with nothing but anger in your voice. at this point, you weren't even happy about getting the part anymore. you genuinely didn't know how you were going to pull this off with jacob as your co-star.
jacob's face softens even more at your words and he sighs deeply, "i'm just saying, i want us to both work the best we can, and i don't think we can do that without just being able to tolerate each other."
you scoff again, looking at him in disbelief and you feel your eyes stinging with tears. you break your wrist out of his grip, shaking your head, "fuck off, jacob. you make me not even want to film this movie anymore. thanks for ruining my excitement," you growl, staring at him with hatred in your eyes for a moment before turning away from him to continue the walk to your car.
how are you going to be able to do this?
𝗮𝘂𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗿'𝘀 𝗻𝗼𝘁𝗲: don't worry guys, i will be making a part two to this. probably gonna also turn it into a mini series because i think an enemies to lovers trope is something that should be written in parts. however, not sure how long it's going to take for the next parts to come out as i'm more focused on the triplets and i also have a busy life outside of tumblr, so all i ask of you guys is patience!
thank you for reading!! <3

Can I just take a moment to talk about the wild transformation Barry Keoghan has had this year (by that I mean like 2023 and 2024 so far)?
In the space of a few months, this man went from being a slept-on actor who was being cut from superhero blockbusters — someone who doesn’t watch award shows or film festivals might have called him a “nobody” despite being an Oscar nominee in several big movies — to this impish, heavily sexualized, and somewhat overexposed (or perhaps overexposed to the point of full on excess) viral pop culture phenomenon.
I mean that quite literally.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a public image transformation like this. A metamorphosis really. Especially for a dude. It’s shocking. It’s brilliant.
You usually see people like Britney Spears or Miley Cyrus do the whole “transition into something more mature” thing to further their careers, but I’ve never seen a man do quite the same thing until now (in my lifetime, at least.) With the same degree of objectification and sexualisation a woman.
Like he’s not just unbuttoning his shirt and posing in jeans or Calvin Klein underwear like other leading men tend to do, he’s fully nude, in latex aprons, latex gloves, false nails and pearl necklaces. He’s covered in blood, lipstick, cummy bath water, god knows what else.
He goes there. Unflinchingly.
Like he’s almost sexually degraded. Degraded in ways men usually aren’t in Hollywood.
(I freaking love Saltburn, I guess I’m not exclusively referring to that, more so his exposure in the media.)
Crazy part is he’s a fantastic actor who doesn’t even have to go there. But he still goes there. And honestly I do hope he does keep working with Emerald. He could be a good muse for her. Assuming he’s going there of his own free will and he’s owning this sexuality that’s been latent inside of him his whole life, good for him.
But this will change his public image and persona forever from now on. He can totally embrace the sex symbol thing if he chooses to, but that can overshadow some actors as it has been known to do that in the past. He has openly idolized bisexual male sex symbols of Old Hollywood, after all.
I just wonder if he can channel all of this and continue being taken seriously as an actor and not become known only for this.
I know he probably needed to do this to become a lead actor and not just a character actor (I’d say the role of Oliver Quick blends both and required both), but I guess we’ll just have to see where all of this goes in time.
Still, you can watch videos of him from years ago and you will still see him, but at the same time it’s like day and night. It’s just very overwhelming.
Anyways I just wanted to get that off my chest.
