Tribune Illara Atash Setareh, Dawnwarden of the Solar Watch, Mistress of Constellations and the Lady of Defiance

The Dawnwarden

'It is not truly known how many living members of the ageless Adeptus Custodes have witnessed the Emperor walking among mortal men. It is known, however, that Tribune Illara Setareh is one of them. A prominent, and - if certain stories are to be believed - at times a controversial figure amidst the Ten Thousand, she is often credited as the founder of the Solar Watch, one of the most proactive shield-hosts of the Custodes.

The testimonies of the few outsiders who had a chance to work with her certainly support such an idea. Often described as restless and "decisive almost to a fault" the Tribune does present the image of a warrior to champion the host's characteristic style of lightning-fast operations. It is said that even before the lifting of the Edict of Restraint she spent more time beyond the skies of Terra than under them, tirelessly carrying out the Emperor's work across the Sol system. Some sources even suggest that under her command the Solar Watch carried out regular missions across the entire galaxy long before such things became the norm during the onset of the Era Indomitus.

Whatever the exact truth of the matter, there can be little doubt that the Tribune is a highly influential figure among Custodians, her name often invoked by them as an epithet for passion - a trait so rarely associated with the golden demigods, that it is not entirely clear if its meant to be taken as praise or criticism of the tribune.'

Tooth and Nail

'The Tribune can usually be seen carrying two relic weapons into battle. Ancient records, salvaged from the furthest corners of labyrinthine archives of the armories of Terra help identify these weapons Tooth - an elegant pistol, which seems to be a unique variation of kinetic destroyer, overcharged by unknown means to deliver significantly more power per shot, and Nail - an elegant sword which appears to function not by deployment of a disruption field, but rather by heating its blade of mysterious alloy to an unimaginably high temperature and essentially vaporizing anything that it comes in contact with.'

The Shawl of Terra's Sky

'Over the millennia the billowing cloak of ever-shifting colors has certainly become one of the most recognizable symbols of Setareh's presence. While no information is available on the kind of utility that this archeotech wonder provides to the Tribune, its shifting color gradients are often described as a mirror to what the skies of prehistoric Terra might have looked like. Curiously, it has been noted by the learned members of the Inquisition's Ordo Xenos that the physical properties of this cloak seem to resemble those of Eldar voidsilk. It is not known, however, if anybody was ever able to question the Tribune herself about this strange resemblance....'

Xenia sighed after the tale had wrapped up. “It ends there. I like the Quarskal version better, personally. It ends less abruptly, y’know? And it doesn’t have the weird poem.” she asked, blinking when he stood up abruptly and started walking across the hall, “Where are you going?”

“There’s a moonstone hidden in here, somewhere.” he replied, feeling along the wall behind the dais at the end of the hall. “It has to be here.”

She stood up and joined him, “Your family’s treasure, you mean?” she asked, tilting her head to the side, “It’s a moonstone?”

“My wha—oh! Yes. That’s my family treasure!”

She gave him a suspicious look, but she shrugged his tone off as weird foreign prince nonsense, “Why do you think it’s here?” she asked, pressing her own palm to the wall.

“It’s where—um, I read, in another, uh, more detailed legend, that the noble family used to keep their coffers behind—“ he paused, looking at her hand. It was quickly growing brighter and brighter, and, much to his alarm, it appeared to be adhered to the wall. “Why are you glowing?”

She blinked up at him owlishly, “I’m…?” she paused, turning to her own hand, “Oh, goddesses, I’m glowing. Why am I glowing?”

“I just asked you that! Why would I know?”

“I don’t…I’m—it’s pulling me!” she shrieked, desperately trying to tug herself away from the wall. It didn’t work. Soon her arms were buried up to her elbows in the charred wood paneling, and then the rest of her body followed.

She gasped, falling back onto nothing in a plain, white space. The only things in the area were herself and a glittering gemstone that broke apart the bright light of the strange room, casting dazzling prismatic shadows along the faraway walls. The center of the huge gemstone had turned an unhealthy, ashen grey that let no light escape. She knew what it was immediately, and it certainly wasn’t a ‘family gemstone’.

This was a dragonlight, a concentrated vessel for draconic power only rumored to exist. It was a vessel imbued with dragonfire and ancient magic, but something was wrong with it. It was weakening, somehow. She didn’t understand how she even knew that, but she did understand that if she managed to bring this back to the university, she could write a few dozen theses. She could maybe even get a tenured position. She reached out for it, wrapping both hands around the gem, turned around to find herself back in the castle ruins. The smoke that clouded the rock’s interior nearly covered the entire surface now. She tapped it, feeling none of the warmth it carried moments earlier. Still, though, it was once a vessel. And that should be enough.

“Cass! Cassius, I found the relic! It’s a dragonlight! This could potentially be proof that some draconic beings do hold the spark of sentience, isn’t that exciting?”

A booming chuckle forced the childish sense of hopefulness from her mind, nearly sending her to her knees from its sheer magnitude alone. She heard words after the laugh but her brain was so muddled that she failed to understand them. The next thing she knew, a clawed hand the size of a cottage came crashing through one of the shattered bay windows. It sent broken glass flying across the entire hall as it began feeling around for something. Maybe her? It was entirely possible that poor Cassius was already in the beast’s grip, or worse.

All thoughts of the scholarly acclaim she’d receive from finding the dragonlight vanished in that moment.

She had to run.

So I’m on day 3 of working on the picrew, and I’m having a bit of a rough time (perfectionism kicked in)

I want to make it as inclusive and expansive as possible but its proven a humongous task to live up to all the ideas I have lol

way too long of a post about the next WxS focus

i really hope it’s a Rui focus where he learns how to stay friends with Asahi despite being apart it would solve the lack of Rui character development that annoyed me in Kirapipi so i could listen to the song without being like

i will defend Asahi with my life i am his number one fan he did nothing wrong

if WxS would have disbanded, without Asahi, Rui would have had nowhere to go and Asahi actually did a really good thing when he realized how upset Rui looked so he forced the date to be pushed back to when he graduates high school also his personality is so silly and it’s nice seeing how well they get along

I heard there are coordinates are to Shibuya Crossing in the song trailer and that reminded me that is where this scene took place

that being said it’s the same thing for this place

but i don’t think this song is really a purely only middle school Rui focus type beat and even though i really want a middle school Rui focus Asahi is probably the best route to take currently unless it’s both simultaneously i feel like that would be a lot for once focus but who knows maybe it’s possible

this made me more certain it’s going to be a Rui focus (this is Rui’s voice actor if you didn’t know)

Rui has been my favorite character ever through other character special interests (no, not because i’m a simp i’m aro ace) /gen so if anyone says it’s a Nene focus i’ll piss my pants/j i love her but it’s his turn cmom
