🩵 he doesn't hide his brand scar because it makes people visibly uncomfortable to see it, and he's never been a non-confrontational person. sure, he'll twist himself into all kinds of more palatable shapes in order to play a role or fulfill expectations - but there are some things he doesn't want people to be able to ignore. (if you want to look at me, you have to look at what the world did to me. you don't get to look away.)

supernatural's 5.01 sympathy for the devil and the conversation dean and sam have is crazy because to this day i literally do not understand what sam is apologising for. the last 45 mins of tv show runtime have been about how the angels were jerking sam & dean's chains around because they wanted sam to kill lilith and raise lucifer, so if he isn't apologising for that, what is he apologising for? addiction? falling back on the only person who was treating him like a human being? escaping the room dean & bobby kept him locked in for three days? and then dean goes ahead to say that he no longer trusts sam and that nothing can ever make it right? literally WHAT r u on about. because at the point of this conversation, it's pretty much established between them both that ruby was jerking sam's chain around as well. which is more tragic than it is a revelation for the damaged trust between them because finding out the only person who was treating you like a human being was also using you as an instrument isn't anything lightweight. 👈 also the last things dean said to him before their fight was dean calling him a monster
