Flaming Toast - Planning Begins

The past 3 weeks of pre-production have flown by, with the beginnings of the team Flaming Toast. As Designer or the team, a lot of the work these few weeks has gone into the Game Design Document and iterations on the document to help with clarity.

The planning over these weeks has gone on to reaffirm how much design work is done on a game before production must begin, even with our relatively small scoped game we’ve had to produce a HackNPlan Task List, an Asset List and a Scope List. All of these documents stemming from each other and each has it’s role to play in informing the group how to go about each job so everyone’s pieces fit together at the end of the day.

I’ve come to realise how much making a game is like building a puzzle, by planning it all out and delegating sections at the beginning it can help avoid chaos during development and speed up the process.

The Final Project

Today was the beginning of the final project for AIE for the year. The upcoming project is to develop a game across a 13-week span consisting of several parts. 4 Weeks Pre-Production 1 Week Holiday 4 Weeks Alpha Development 2 Weeks Beta Development 2 Weeks Gold Development

With this long list of milestones comes a long list of hand in’s to accompany it. After meeting my new team I’m confident we can hit the mark running, with @braydensgames and myself as the designers in the team alongside 2 Programmers and 2 Artists. More to come in the next few weeks.

I got the decal from flamingtoast.com for like… $3 including shipping. They have a lot of options, and you can get custom ones made too. I got it really quick, so it’s legit and reliable. If you get one, tell them I sent you ;D
