Note
I wonder if yeerks could have natural inclinations for being right or left "handed" for lack of a better term for a slug creature? Like a yeerk lefty in a right-handed host making their host seem suddenly ambidextrous (as a possible tell for an animorph paying enough attention).
So I tried to search for info on whether invertebrates show any evidence of bilateral symmetry variations (i.e. a preference for one side or the other) and my rabbit hole mostly contained lots of stuff on how invertebrate bilateral symmetry can be used to explain human bilateral symmetry. Which, sure, I get it, scientific articles are written by humans and we have a preference for our own.
But it seems like someone has got to have checked whether at least some kind of invertebrate has a preference for one set of feelers/antennae/legs over the other. Without all the studies that train ants or roaches to veer left or veer right, but let them go one of two ways and see if they prefer one over the other.
Anyone know if this question has been investigated, and if so how to find it? I know yeerks are imaginary and not real sea slugs, but asking whether sea slugs show asymmetrical dominance seems like the right first step.
