i like to think that smith is objectively cool. the guy looks like justin beiber, owns a MOTORCYCLE. i like to think he rides the motorcycle very frequently and his uncle gave him a leather jacket and sunglasses to match. everybody on campus is like omggg that guys so cool, but in reality hes a vibrating can of anxiety ready to burst.

andrew sees smith in his leather jacket riding his motorcycle and thinks "sick." unknowing of the fact that smith used to fear for his life in andrew's presence.

i just like the thought of a Cool White DudeTM who likes to bake and has extreme anxiety and a pepto bismol dependence.

To beginning with Fluent Freshman comes one Known Smith who once has gone beyond mortal men's understanding of certain flashcards with the help of the enlightenment of one 5 hour energy potion much to the ire of one goalie (who does not like this title) and a stiker (who quite favors this title amount a select few) and Smith's afflicted stomach... and another piece from one of their other fabulous writing from MathNerd where one disgruntled Ichirou appears for one Neil Josten (who couldn't be bothered in the slightest for throwing a wrentch certain plans) much to the unfortunate heart of an anxiety driven Kevin Day.

Author's Notes: "Yuu" is a character who has been around as an idea for a long time, approximately just as long as Jocia, but she wasn't anything more than a plot device until around 2018. I finally fully developed her and gave her a set design and personality that was more than just "Jocia's twin." Previously she acted as a goal to work towards in some of my stories, but now she often takes on the role of antagonist or a foil character.

Fluent Freshman - 01

Just thinking about some poor Palmetto Freshman who, due to the nature of the Foxes, is super quiet and blends into the background. This poor freshman is a foreign language major (forcing himself to have to talk to people and he likes languages) and he knows a couple languages already!

He hasn’t mentioned his major so no one knows but its fine there will be time to make friends and- did Captain Neil just call the scary goalie милый (Darling)? Their tones give away nothing but the goalie with all the knives responded by calling his weirdly intense captain кролик (Bunny).

He stares at them but Andrew threatens to cut him if he keeps looking (he thinks its about Neil’s scars) and now he has officially missed the chance to mention that he is fluent in Russian.

Cue being subjected to the sappiest shit on the entire planet because Andrew and Neil are fucking extra with the shit they say when no one can listen in. So now begins the long play of trying not to let on that he knows because that would be so embarrassing! So awkward! He masters the art of the poker face by the Fall Banquet. He refuses to sit in hearing distance of the two of them on the bus because last time he listened to Andrew describe in excruciating detail what he was going to do to Neil if Neil let him when they got back to the dorm. (He couldn’t get up and walk away! That’d be suspicious!)

This is his hell but at least he made friends with the other freshmen when he accidentally said “No I think Andrew likes Captain Neil plenty.” Because he was trying not to process the absolutely filthy things Andrew was saying to Neil in what looked like a heated argument.

The only person who knows is Nicky because Nicky came up and asked if he was homophobic (power walking away from Neil and Andrew when Neil sat in Andrew’s lap for movie night because he has LEARNED that lesson) and he panicked because HE IS NOT HOMOPHOBIC and confessed that he is fluent in Russian.

Nicky, wisely, promises to take this information to his grave. The freshman weeps in gratitude.

Spidey Academy AU!!

Like Xavier's School for Gifted Children, Miguel - a Spider-person fond of kids, opened a Spidey-Science Academy, for the Spidey-people of the universe

It's not like a high school. There's five years and the years are not really sorted by age - but by experience.

So Hobie would be a year 3 - a middleclass-man

Pavitr is a year 1 - a freshman

And the classes, are all based on honing your Spider-powers and senses.

There's assignments, things you have to take home and do.

They're give you a fake evil Doc Ock chip and have you decode it and make it good again (like Peter in No Way Home).

Or they ask you to stop a petty robbery without using your webs. You have to bring in the Daily Bugles article on you the next day and they grade you on that.

Any class a Spider-person needs, they have.

Home Ec? No. Sewing and Suit Repair Class

Gym? No. Swinging & Strength Endurance

Science? ALL ADVANCED. Freshmen's take Advanced Spider-biology and have to learn ALL the different Spider-variations and illnesses Spider-people can get. Multiversal Physics.

All of the honor classes are FULL.

There's also other helpful ones like Firefighting Training and Sign Language (both mandatory), hence how Insomniac!Miles is completely fluent in ASL.

Oh - also. Because Miguel is such a tight-ass -

he's taking a french class for fun even though he's fluent in french

him and emma end up next to one another for the class

at first, emma's not so sure about gabe since he acts kind of dumb in the class so the professor doesn't know he's fluent

that annoys her because she thinks it's stupid when people play dumb even though they're super smart

his athletic persona also throws her off a bit and she thinks he doesn't ever care at all because he's just forced to be in his classes to be able to play

they start talking after the first week of classes when gabe's actively doing another class's work

emma actively laughs out loud when she sees him trying to do economics

"something funny?"

she shakes her head and thus starts their mini whispering argument about economics

eventually that leads to gabe asking for her number to get help later on since emma claims she's so good at econ

after a few tutoring sessions emma realizes she might've been wrong about gabe all along

the two become close fairly quickly and he convinces her to come to one of his games that weekend

she starts learning a lot about hockey from gabe whenever he'd start rambling on about it during their tutoring sessions

finally after a month of tutoring gabe decides to ask her out on a date once the boys convince him she'd say yes

she agrees!

they go out to a fancy dinner where they're both pretty nervous it goes super well & gabe kisses her before dropping her off at her dorm

they start dating a week after!

loves listening to emma ramble on about what book she's currently reading and even starts reading them too!

when she goes to his game for the first time he almost combusts when he sees her in the sweatshirt he lent her for it

emma most definitely tries to give his style more variety so it isn't just sweats and sweatshirts all the time

the guys start chirping at him a lot when they find out he likes emma

can get a little possessive and jealous sometimes what emma says goes "walk him like a dog"

into the windverse: high school edition

me @oh-so-youre-a-nerd and @saibug1022 got to talking the other day and said, 'imagine these idiots in high school'- well one thing led to another and now we have a whole au within the au- so without further ado:

high school hcs (read below the cut):

setting the stage, we've got all these shmoes attending the same high school together

enid and joaquin: seniors

martin and marcus: juniors

magnus: sophomore (and new transfer student)

wind: freshman

basically the premise is that despite everyone being in different grades, they all are taking the same elective every mwf, 4th period: ✨ap spanish✨

enid: took spanish all four years of hs; tested well and was recommended to take the ap course vs the advanced in her senior year- which her parents insisted on after finding out the news

joaquin: lied throughout hs about not being fluent in spanish for an easy a (a fact enid 100% knows about btw; she works part-time at her parents' clinic- joaquin's parents are her mom's patients- and have been for years, so she's witnessed him speak to them in spanish many times); he's here bc this is legitimately the last class he can exploit take

martin: type a try hard; led a petition for the school district to allow non-senior students to take ap spanish, claiming that the current curriculum was 'abhorrently suboptimal'; the resolution gets passed the summer before his junior year

wind: originally scheduled for spanish 1 w the rest of the freshman; was absolutely restless in class (a. bc they are fluent so the material was too easy, b. adhd); after being yelled at by the teacher for the nth time for being disruptive, wind bet that they could ace last year's final for not only their class, but all the other spanish courses (sans the ap). after they did- they were transferred

marcus: another student to benefit from martin's protest; super friendly theater geek (has been the lead in nearly every school play since freshman year). this fact (unbeknownst to him) enrages martin, who is another theater geek lol. anyways, marcus is the one to initially suggest forming a study group

magnus: transfers to this hs halfway through the year- countless rumors as to why he transferred float around the hallways (some perpetuated by mags himself lol); his transfer credits from his old school cover the hs's criteria, so he automatically gets placed in ap spanish
