Part of the moss cleaning process; it gets brought in and dumped into my sink, where it gets an initial cleaning. I remove any debris and detritus I can find, and take the "roots" as close to down to bare as I can get them. They get a hot water soak (about 135F to start with) for a bit to loosen anything else up, and then they get a second cleaning, to get to this:

Then they get a quick hydrogen peroxide mix bath to sanitize them, then a rinse, then drying overnight on paper towels. They'll get one more rinse, and then they're ready!

This batch I'm using for the snail babies, in their mini terrariums.

The last batch went into the big terrarium, which has just some isopods/springtails in it so far but will have snails, too. I put together a little trellis for the ivy.

And what's an update without saying hello to Whiskey, who is doing yoga to repair a nick in his shell.

Bandai Namco US is Looking for Licensing Partner for Lifestyle Consumer Products

Have you been dreaming of Tamagotchi merchandise? Well that could very well be on the horizon soon! The Toy Book reports that Bandai Namco is seeking to expand the Tamagotchi brand into lifestyle consumer products. These products would be geared toward the millennial market, allowing fans to engage with Tamagotchi across new categories including apparel, accessories, stationery, food, and more!

“Tamagotchi fans are always looking for new ways to personalize their experience and express their fandom,” says Tara Badie, Senior Director Brand Strategy, Bandai Namco Toys & Collectibles America. “The elevated-grade lifestyle line we are creating will allow the Tamagotchi community to celebrate the much-loved brand on a whole new level.” 

To secure the right licensing partner, Bandai Namco is attending the Licensing Expo at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas from June 13th, 2023 through June 15th, 2023. Bandai Namco will be at booth F170 at the Licensing Expo.

This is big news! We’ve been craving more Tamagotchi merchandise. There have been several licensed products over the years that have been available in Japan that leave us drooling! We’re really hoping that Bandai Namco is able to secure a partner soon to get merchandise on the shelves as quickly as possible. What Tamagotchi merchandise would you buy?

Woke up at 8:30 a.m on a saturday for some unknowable bio-clock reason. Instead of doing anything remotely productive with this unexpected wealth of weekend free time though (e.g getting up, having a drink of water, getting dressed etc., high standards of productivity here lol), I have spent the past FOUR hours in bed getting very invested in and gradually losing steam about the idea of attempting to cosplay Kasane Teto from the delightful chaotic sensory hell hidden-detail-riddled PV by Channel for 32ki's banger new sensation song "Mesmerizer" ft Miku and Teto.

I have never cosplayed, can't sew, have very little experience with makeup of any kind... but brain latched onto the fact that the outfit itself wouldn't be too difficult to assemble : all able to be bought off-the-shelf, I thought. The yellow gloves and retail-worker cap would be the hardest to obtain, but surely someplace or other would have stuff in friendly sizes!

I was about two hours deep into an online window-shopping session, even making plans to Get Up And Go Out To Buy Some Clothes IRL On A Weekend WTF (height of unfun eMe activities), when reality finally slapped me upside the head with the realisation that a Kasane Teto cosplay is basically Nothing without a good wig. Which i of course do not know how to make. 🫠💥

...So now I've just been rewatching Sarah Spaceman's wig-based videos (starting with the Teto SynthV one of course) and looking up material availability / equivalences here in Baguetteland (oh the irony), and realising that perhaps a drill hairstyle is Absolutely Not What You Should Be Doing As Your First Wig when you only first attempted to trim your own hair yourself two-ish months ago with Very middling success... 💥💥💥

Anyway (the irony continues) THAT'S why i forgot to take my ADHD meds this morning!
