there’s a new sims 4 ep coming out next month when you can fully design apartment buildings (not like the ones in city living where you can’t move the walls or windows) as well as build townhouses, duplexes, multi family units. everybody who builds in this game has been begging for this forever and I’m excited. but there’s been some #discourse about it because you can be a property owner and, something something, slumlord endorsement.

setting aside that this is pretty silly, considering that everybody who plays this game does horrible things to their sims, this might be a good time to bring up the story of the most evil thing I’ve ever done in that stupid game.

so, this was back when the sims 3 was the most recent game in the franchise, and late night was the most recent expansion pack. and like. look. as much as i love bridgeport, the world it comes with is probably the world that gets the oldest the quickest. and when you're me and play on very long lifespans, you get kind of bored after you hit 5 star fame, get to the top of your career, and are making $10k a week in book royalties. what now? what's there to aim for?

well, in the sims 3, you can buy real estate. and i start thinking to myself, hey, my sim is still a young adult. what if i just bought literally all the lots that the game will let me. including the hospital, the science laboratory, and the criminal enterprise. unfortunately they don't let you buy the military base, which is no fun.

and so i did, but after i owned everything, i got bored again, and thought, hmm. the acting track in this game and the politician track are both charisma skill focused. so i can quit the acting job and very easily make it to the top of the political track because i've already maxed that skill.

which is exactly what i did. so on top of having the "leader of the free world" job, i owned everything. in other words, i was a sim dictator. the only thing that would have made this funnier in retrospect was if i opted to become a vampire on top of all that.

so, in case your curious, i'm not going to feel bad at all if i play a "bad landlord" storyline in sims 4: for rent.

What was that radio you guys were talking about in ep 118?

there's something called "his kids radio" that was available only in grand rapids, michigan. it received a special broadcast on a duplexed radio signal that could only be decoded by these special radios. for some reason, a 3-d model of this radio also exists as an asset in counter-strike

Builds I grabbed from the Gallery, the last 3 are already in my game with the last one still being empty. The last 3 are a senior housing facility, townhomes and a trailer park that will now be put to use with the new EP.

The build in the first pic looks perfect for the new world, Tomarang, so I'm hoping there's a lot the same size ready lol. The 2nd pic, I'm thinking of saving for Mt. Komorebi, I have a lot with a house that I plan on turning into a duplex (already have 3 apt buildings) so I'm still deciding if I want this because it's not a real duplex, it's a single residence.

3rd and 4th pics I'm not sure yet, 3rd would definitely go to Newcrest if I decide to use it and the 4th would be Willow Creek.

I don't want all the homes to look like million dollar estates, but sometimes it's hard to find average looking homes 🤔

Random Game Ramble

Well, it's been a while, hasn't it? Getting back into the swing of things here's a few game fandom thoughts I've had for the past few weeks:

Starfield ended up being a disappointment for many due to various issues, and hilariously enough, I was in the middle of a completionist playthrough of Mass Effect: Andromeda when reviews began coming out, and all I could think was that several of the complaints about Starfield mirrored the design and features of MEA (chiefly, loading screens to get off and on planets, stilted NPC animations during interactions, et cetera). MEA also seems to have done better than Starfield in some ways (planetside vehicle for exploration, more handcrafted locations and so on).

Baldur's Gate 3 feels like next-gen Dragon Age: Origins and I love it for that, but it also makes me wonder what is going on with Dreadwolf (and to a lesser extent, the next Mass Effect). I hope it will be at least as good, but development seems to be... slow on both Bioware franchises given the early announcement trailers... (seriously, the one thing EA and Maxis does right with Sims 4 is that there is a short time between announcement trailers and full trailers and releases).

The next The Sims 4 expansion is rumored to be about becoming a landlord (well, it is a young adult wish-fulfillment sim at this point) and rent and whatnot, and I wonder just how different it will be from the earlier roommates system (similarly to how the ranch hand is a reskinned butler)... I hope we will be able to build our own apartments and duplexes with it (perhaps divide existing lots into smaller lots for more moved in households?), but TS4 EPs have been so underwhelming as of late even relatively speaking for TS4 that I'm not holding my breath.

Duplexity Billboards EP - Drop The Act

At the famous Globe Theatre Los Angeles with the duo Duplexity.

Duplexity is an Indie Rock duo from Beverly Hills, CA. Formed by teen siblings Savannah Judy 17 and Luke Judy 16. Luke and Savannah have been performing their whole lives but recently decided to take their talents into the studio and create their original sound. The music is inspired by 90’s alternative rock channeling a hint of metal mixed to have a modern feel. Their debut single “Billboards” is a nod to their 10-year child actor journey they started when moving to LA for acting opportunities. Their first EP is set to be released in October ’23 and will be an upbeat coming-of-age collection of songs that will speak to fellow Gen Z-ers. Soo I have to say @plantsarepeopletoo posts about only friends music made me HAVE to do this their analysis is 10/10 would recommend.
