we started this song together back in 2020 and picked it back up at the end of 2022

'Older' was originally a voice memo of a 50’s-style love song that we wrote together, then forgot about. when thinking of concepts for my debut album i stumbled across the memo and fell in love with it all over again, but i put it aside yet again as to me, it deserved more than the album

the song has changed a lot from the original voice memo, but the meaning has stayed the same throughout. despite all the beauty, the ups and downs of a long-term relationship over many years, there’s inevitably going to be the worst moment of your love because one of you is going to lose each other

capturing those feelings in a song was tricky but ultimately we wrote from the heart and i think it shows in the song itself

this has always been a song between us, so having him play on this song was very importnt to me and im glad he said yes

Steal Off 2 - Feedback on your feedback!

Thank you to everybody who voted in our poll yesterday regarding Steal Off 2! Your honesty is greatly appreciated and it's really helped us clarify how we wish to move forward.

Our main findings were:

A lot of you (roughly 40% of respondents) are too busy to steal right now. It's exam season! I forgot this because I have been out of education since 2022! My bad!

Some of you were prolific stealers during the actual tournament but have since run out of ideas and motivation - I may have expected too much of you in too condensed a timeframe!

Some of you would feel more motivated if you felt your contributions to Steal Off 2 meant more than a medal emoji, seeing as they can't change the results of an actual poll.

And a glorious and brutally honest 19.1% of you just don't give a shit about Steal Off 2. We love you anyway ❤️

We the mods have had a chat amongst ourselves about these very important findings, and HERE is the plan going forward:

1. Firstly, we will not be extending the deadline for Steal Off 2. Submissions will close as planned on Wednesday 30th April at 19:30 BST (UTC+1) - if you're in line to steal, stay in line!

2. If you desperately want to create a steal for any ship but know you're not going to have time to finish it before Wednesday evening, DO NOT PANIC! This will NOT be your final chance to create a steal on this blog, because...

3. We have a very, very special event planned for a period of time when hopefully a lot more of you will be available, free from the burdens of academia, and hopefully also well rested and refreshed after the relentless onslaught that was the Les Mis Shipping Showdown. It is another steal only event, and we will release more details about it in due course - so keep following this blog and watch this space!

4. We ARE going to establish the Les Mis Shipping Showdown as a recurring (probably annual) event.

5. I asked Yunho sarcastically, "I thought married couples go somewhere alone for honeymoons," and he responded, "It's just for today doll, our honeymoon is tomorrow." I rolled my eyes at him for calling me doll, but since he's now my husband, I nodded. I didn't want to go on a honeymoon with this man, I barely know him. He helped while we were driving to my house to get my clothes for the honeymoon.

"Your dad told your manager about our honeymoon, so you don’t need to model today" Yunho stated, "but I have to model." "Wait, my dad spoke to Harin, and he didn't call me?" I ask him, perplexed. I glanced at him and realised he was lying about my dad talking to Harin. "Harin. Do you mean the person who witnessed me swap with his wife?” His glance at me confirmed my concerns that it was a lie.

"Ok let me call him right now" Yunho grabbed my arm in which I was holding my phone, our gazes locked, and he snatched my phone and performed something with it, asking, "What are you doing?" "Call me whenever you feel unsafe or if you need anything" "why would I feel unsafe?" I looked at him, still holding my phone, as he said, "It's just to keep you safe." I nodded, and as soon as we arrived at Yunho's house, Yunho's guys placed my things in a room.

"Where are you gonna sleep?" "And where am I going to sleep?" he asked, pointing to this bed. He pointed to the bed and said, "right here" I laughed a little, believing he was joking, but I could see the sincerity in his face "were married doll, we're not gonna sleep in separate rooms"

“Yunho I barely know you” “come on go get your pajamas on” Yunho took his shirt off making me cover my face and turned around “what are you doing!!” “I’m getting changed” “yeah, in front of me” “you’re my wife” he grabbed my shoulders and turned me around he took my hand away from my eyes so I could see him “keep your eyes on me doll” he kissed me and I look at him in complete shock. “WHY DID YOU KISS ME!!” He looks at me smiling “can’t I kiss my wife?” I push him off me and went into the bathroom and got changed.

As soon as I walked back out Yunho was sat on the bed looking at me “Y/n what happened on your birthday” my mood changed “did Hyunjin tell you” he nodded telling me how he just said that I forgot stuff. “Can you tell me what happened?” He beckoned me to come sit with him so I did hut I kept a distance, “when I was 19 I got hit by a car and hit my head on the concrete, they thought I was gonna die since I lost a lot of blood but I just lost my memory and tried to get as much of it back.” I didn’t want to talk about it anymore so I decided to just fall asleep, Yunho sighed and lied down aswell.

The next day we woke up and we were on our way to Japan, it was just gonna be me and him, we went to Osaka and it was beautiful, I knew some Japanese so I was the one who told the register about the booking. We got into the hotel room and i look at the scenery since it’s so pretty.

“Are you ok?” I nodded, walking towards the door and looking back at Yunho “are you coming or no” Yunho walked out with me and we went on a date, we went to a restaurant and I felt uncomfortable because right behind me and Yunho was 3 buff body guards, “what’s up doll, are you ready to order?” “Yunho why are there body guards here!?” “It’s just for protection doll, there’s no need to worry.”

I nodded knowing that he could protect me anyway, I just didn’t want my first date to look like this “Y/n I’m a huge fan can, I get your signature?” The body guards pulled him away “yeah sure” I put my arms out to get the photocard from him we were speaking Japanese so Yunho couldn’t understand what I was saying, I sign the photo card and smiled at the fan as he said thank you “is he your husband?” “Yes” I smile and nodded as Yunho looked jealous and ignored the fan, the fan walked away after thanking me one last time.

“You didn’t have to be so rude to my fan” “I didn’t even do anything” “exactly” I pointed out as he was just ignoring the nice fan. “Be nice next time” Yunho just kept a straight face and looked at the menu “what do you what to get doll?” “Can you even speak Japanese?” Yunho fries and I nodded knowing the answer. “How do you know to speak Japanese?” “Setsuna” “she taught us all Japanese” we ordered our food and we were just talking.

OH YEAH I'm so sorry I forgot to say (I've been really busy all day) but I fell asleep while writing last night 😭 I've been busy enough that I've genuinely only just sat down without something I need to do right now. I am going to finish it tonight and post it, I said in the discord server that it would be between 4-7 but I had completely forgotten that I had my class rep training session today, so now it's 6pm and I'm only just settling down.

I don't know if I'll have much time to write during rehearsals tonight, but I'll fill the spare time with writing. It's show week next week so I've really got to be there to get the set changes and stuff properly down.

With that in mind, it'll probably be closer to 11pm bst by the time I get in and do my chores. (I'll probably get home around 9:30 so once I've done my chores, taken meds, and brushed my teeth it'll be like 10)

So sorry again that I forgot to mention it 😔 I am so busy these days lmao

JUNE '23 Refine Review

Nagi: We got that DR and self-healing, but the rest is great. Dragon Wall, Def/Res penalty nullification (for those pesky daggers), and Atk/Res-10 on foe. Now the reduced Res on foe wouldn't help when adaptive damage kicks in, but it will help with double Dragon Wall, for 56% RD. This weapon isn't that powerful in a vacuum, but with the new premium dragon / armor skills, it's incredible for a far save tank.

Tanya: We got a magic bow that actually uses adaptive damage, and Spd% true damage, in the 3/4 star pool. Niles and Nina are in shambles. What's more, she has foe's penalty doubler to counter L!Robin, on top of just competing with stats of foe’s. Spd/Def Menace is perfect for her. This weapon seems pretty outstanding, until you remember, she has lower BST than Igrene, despite coming after. First Valbar, then Tanya, as the 3-4 star with lower BST then their 5 star allies, keep getting better perf weapons that make up for their short comings.

Va! Rudolf: I forgot Duma, the God his kingdom worships, had Atk check damage reduction. So he has that, along with healing after combat, prevent follow-up, Accelerate Special, Atk/Def-11, makes him great. But the cherry on top, he increases the Atk difference between him and the foe, based on 50% the highest total amount of bonuses on him or an ally (one within save distance). His Threaten skill with gives him 6. Rallying Spd/Res+ can give you another 6. If the foe negates his bonuses, a buffed up ally can provide the 6. So, if we combine the Atk bonuses and Def penalties, he can have about 23 more damage and less damage taken. 25 if he had +7 on all stats. It would be pretty busted if there was a way to buff a unit with +8 visible buff to two stats. 😑

Brunnya: I called the third condition that will give her effects, even when she has no penalties active. After that, she isn't inflicting -Atk/Res based on her Res, but based on the foe's Special Cooldown (lower score is higher penalty). We've seen this before on mages and it's great to deal with these "1 cooldown time pulsers", right Fir? And of course, the guaranteed follow-up is locked to support partner interactions. Boss Aether Raid Brunnya getting nerfed, Ewan is winning.

Igerne: I did a last minute call on her wordy complicated double spd check would get changed, now she only needs the "start of combat" spd check during enemy phase. Then it's Spd% TD, Null-Guard, Lull Spd/Def, and 30% DR. An incredibly offensive bow for a unit stacked in Atk/Spd. You just need to Deadeye her foes, or upgrade her Special Spiral to 4 and get +5 special damage and DR negation.

Next let's talk new skills

Armored Beacon / Armored Floe: These skills were definitely added since IS thought Hardy Fighter was the best Fighter skill for tanking, and there was no point in having another Fighter skill with an offensive Special. These are also a oxymoron. The damage reduction counts as a Special DR (like Pavise) which means it can't be pierced by Deadeye or Lethality, but it's also triggered by unit's attack to boost damage, meaning it isn't pre-charged by Shield Pulse or Hardy Fighter, and can be effected by Atk/Res Scowl. Oh right.

Atk/Res Scowl 4: A simple Enemy Phase Standard way of getting Atk/Res+7, but then, you get to uncharge the foe's pre-charged special before they can trigger it, if you met the Res check. It's similar to the effects that the last three Tiki's had as well as Halloween Duma. And apparently, these stack, so lower your foe's special by 2 if you like. This is available to all Dragons and is a supreme skill that lets you still have Dragon Wall, and use the D. Distant Counter seal. This and Armored Floe are the skill I meant when discussing Nagi.

Savvy Fighter 4: Speaking of tanks, didn't expect this to come so soon. Instead of just "Dodge"+ Phantom Spd, the unit needs more than opponent's Spd -10, in order to get 40% DR on the first hit (not all hits). Since you have NFU, should out Spd, and have extra BST to put in Atk/Def/Res, you should only be hit once for a little bit of damage. This won't help them combo with Spd Smoke, nor complete with Dodge + Phantom Spd foes. You could use AS Pavise to tank a second foe's attack, if you hit the foe twice to charge it.

SD Rein Snap: So this explains why Guidance 4 was so busted. They really are giving melee fliers +1 movement, giving it to melee infantry/armored allies, while still having Rein. Granted, melee fliers can inherit Odd/Even Tempest. Also, the movement bonus isn't granted to Singers or Dancers. Thank god.

Wings of Mercy 4: Oh, okay. I guess we can all be F!Lilith now. I predicted they put Canto in this skill, and I was off, it's going to be 2 tile radius wrapping if any ally is less than 60%. Add +4 damage and a 3 tile radius warp to adjacent tile when ally is under 100%, and you got a skill that's overkill if you were going to give it to a dancer/healers.

Null-Follow-Up "4": And finally, they made Null-Follow-Up 4. Well, it's actually, it's two different skills. Phys. Null Follow inflicts Spd/Def-4 ( and is exclusive to physical attacking weapons), while Magic Null Follow inflicts Spd/Res-4 ( and exclusive to Magic attacking weapons). On top of that, you get 50% DR reductions. That's two ways infantry units can pierce Hardy Fighter, Dodge Tanks, Dragon Wall, or just Remote Sparrow. I really like these skills, but I now need to rewrite some upcoming theorycrafts.

FORGOT TO ACTUALLY TALK ABOUT THIS THING LIKE. mechanics-wise I got too excited about lore.

Soooo while I'm leaning towards dragon-ghost, that is subject to change. I've seriously bounced between so many dual-dragon typings for this thing. Here are his starting stats, with a total base stat total of 240, the same as a whismur and less than bidoof.

In-game I imagine it works that Movrim's base stats go up the higher your friendship with him is. Here he is with what it would level up to being maxed out with a BST of 660, same as Kyurem:

Friendship would probably have to work a bit differently with him to balance that so you can't just run in circles for a while and then hit your first gym with a post-game legendary. I don't have a moveset or ability pinned down yet, I want to have the typing solid so I can figure out a signature move first.

YES I HAVE SO MUCH RAMBLINGS OKAY OKAY. OKAY

This is Movrim! He's a fakemon I designed and the partner pokemon of my OC, Lloyd.

Their story takes place in Unova about 5 years post Indigo Disk and 15 years post B2W2. At this point, Hugh is running a pokemon shelter. This strange pokemon, unlike any known species, is brought in injured. Even after he heals he is still incredibly weak, unable to hold his own in a battle. Professor Bianca comes around to try and help figure out his deal. Around the same time, Lloyd comes in with their mom to adopt their first pokemon.

Lloyd is a bit of a problem child. They have trouble communicating with people, only partially due to the fact that they're nonverbal, and is prone to emotional outbursts since they have issues with regulating their emotions, as well. They especially don't do well with strangers and can be incredibly rude, even if they really have a big heart and are endlessly kind and faithful to those they care about. Their mom thought a pokemon partner might help Lloyd out since they don't have much in the way of friends because of this.

When they meet, Lloyd and Movrim become fast friends. Bianca and Hugh aren't super comfortable with letting a little kid and an unknown pokemon hit the gym circuit together, but Llyod could clearly use a friend and is already helping the shy Movrim come out of his shell, so they let it slide- as long as they're checking in periodically with Bianca.

Movrim is a legendary, yes! He's a dragon-ghost type, and the fourth piece of Unova's original legendary dragon, its heart. Movrim is a bit like the counterpart to Kyurem, like Reshiram and Zekrom if they didn't completely hate each other.

This also means that when Team Plasma rolls back around for round three, they need Movrim for their biggest scheme yet: to bring together the original dragon and use its power to take over Unova. If they keep on combining dragons, eventually they'll have to make something strong enough that a teenager won't be able to destroy their entire organization. Even though Lloyd is quickly becoming a powerful trainer, they're still ten. The only reason Team Plasma doesn't initially just take Movrim from Lloyd from force is because Lloyd has an older brother, Darrion, who's pretty high up in Team Plasma and refuses to give out the order to harm his younger sibling, as estranged as they may be.

This turns into a bit of an issue for Team Plasma because while Movrim may have not been able to take on a sewaddle at first, his strength honest to god scales off the power of friendship. The closer he and Lloyd become, the more Movrim starts looking like an actual legendary dragon.

Prompt: BSTS guys' reactions to MC being the photographer for the pictures we see on cards, either for events or for a new MV. - Potato

A/N: These hcs are separate from the card stories! Think of this as more of a process to get the actual card photos. There are going to be two prologues since some of the cards have cast members in their “natural�� habitat and some of them are “photoshoots”.

Prologue: 

"(Y/n), c-can I ask you for help?" Unei stuttered. "Starless is coming out with a magazine, and the owner asked me to t-take pictures of the cast members."

Seeing your surprised reaction, the intern bowed and apologized, "I am s-sorry for bothering you! But, the owner wants me to take pictures secretly. I-If I get caught, then..."

Unei looked like he was about to cry. Even you shuddered at the thought of what some of the cast members would do if they learned he was stalking them.

"Leave it to me, Unei!" You said confidently.

"Where did he go?" You mumbled to yourself and looked around. After a while of wandering, you saw him smoking on the rooftop. 

You froze in your tracks and stared at him for a while. The ethereal glow from the moon made Takami look almost angelic.

Quickly reaching for your camera, you sneakily snap a few photos and walk away with a smile. 

A few moments later, your text notification went off: "Did you enjoy staring at me and taking photos?"  

You stepped into management's office to find an irritated Taiga staring down at the restaurant tablet. Grabbing your camera, you quickly snapped a few photos of him. 

"Hm?" He looked at you and tilted his head, "Why did it sound like someone took pictures?" 

"I didn't hear anything. So what's wrong?" You quickly changed the subject, not wanting him to know the truth.

"Qu touched the tablet, and it stopped working. He just touched the tablet with his fingertips, and it broke. Some of the men in Starless are talented at breaking technology. Maybe I should replace these devices with prehistoric computers and rotary phones." 

You laughed and patted his back, "Watch them break those too." 

"I am sure they will find a way. Anyways, so why did you take pictures of me without permission? And don't change the subject this time..." 

"Where did Rindou wander off to?" You sighed and looked around the unfamiliar area. 

Team P was having a little fun at the beach before their summer performance, but Rindou disappeared a while back. Thinking he might be hungry, you went looking for him but got lost. 

You finally found him sitting in the shade with his legs dipped in the cool water. You reached for your camera and took a few pictures of him.

Smiling to yourself, you quietly returned to the other members. Rindou deserved some time to himself, especially after all the stress Starless put him through. 

For the first time, you saw Yakou baring his chest. Not being able to resist, you snapped a picture of him.

Right at that time, he glanced at you, making you nearly drop your camera. 

"T-The ocean looks so pretty," you nervously laughed, "I want to take so many pictures of it!" 

After a while, Team P's members headed to the stage to get ready for their performance. As Yakou walked past you, he whispered, "Hope you set that picture of me as your phone background. It's not every day that I show off my body." 

You tried your best to take pictures of Maica in his natural habitat, but he was just so photogenic; all the photos you took of him looked too perfect to be natural. 

You thought your luck might change at the Onsen event, but nope. Sighing from exhaustion, you sat across Maica, and out of nowhere, your stomach growled loudly. Right, you were so busy chasing after Maica the entire day that you forgot to eat. Great. 

He stopped in the middle of eating and held out half of his dessert in your direction. Instead of taking the food, you reached for your camera. 

After taking a photo, you thanked him for the food and started a conversation with Menou - all the while ignoring Maica's WTF WAS THAT look. 

Everyone was having fun at the beach, except Heath. While his teammates enjoyed the summer sun, he sat in a shaded area, watching them.  

Not wanting to miss this chance, you secretly took photos of him until you snapped one of him yawning. Thinking he was bored, you joined him and started a conversation. 

"Have you eaten anything? If not, I could get something for you." 

There was no reply from him; instead, you felt his head on your shoulder. He was fast asleep. 

You held a box of donuts in your hand and searched for Kasumi. "Where does this man disappear to? He really is a ninja in disguise..." 

After what felt like ages, you found him in the office with his focus on his laptop screen. He always works so hard and never complains. 

Smiling to yourself, you set your phone on silent and took some photos before making your way closer to him. 

While he enjoyed his glazed treats, you watched him. "Hey, Kasumi. I'm proud of you for being a hardworking man." 

"Ah, thanks," he grinned, "but (y/n) why did you secretly take pictures of me? Did I look that handsome?"

Prologue: 

"(Y/n), c-can I ask you for help? P-Please don't say no!" He bowed his head and sighed, "You are the only one I can count on."

"You know, I will always help out! What do you need my help with?" You chuckled.

"Well, Starless's photographer is too scared to come back here...," he started explaining, "so if you could act his substitute..."

"But why is he scared?"

"A few days back, he accidentally got locked in a room with Sotetsu, Ran, Mizuki, Rico, and Menou. Since then, he refuses to come back..."

You weren't sure whether to laugh or feel bad for the photographer, but regardless, you were more than happy to do his job.

Hari accidentally ate something Mokuren was saving, and to everyone's shock, Mokuren was surprisingly calm. 

Since the usual Starless photographer was absent, you were taking pictures of Team C's performance. Being biased towards Hari, you decided to focus your attention on him towards the end of the song. 

Right as you took the last picture, you noticed something horrifying. When you looked up at the stage, you saw Hari flying from one side of the stage to the other. Since that day, no one has dared to touch Mokuren's food, especially Hari. 

You handed Gui a few roses and told him to pose as he saw fit. 

After a couple of photos, he handed you a red rose with a smile, "This is for you." 

"T-Thank you. Gui, do you know what giving someone a red rose means?"  

"No," he replied, looking down at the flowers in his hands. 

"It means you love them. Gui, I love you too." 

His eyes widened, and his mouth parted as you snapped one last photo of him. 

As you took pictures of him for the new June Bride event, you noticed that he looked exhausted. He was working day and night to get one of his siblings the best birthday present, but the stress was catching up to him.

Feeling a tug in your chest, you glanced at him while continuing the photoshoot. "You are the best brother in the world..." 

Sinju meekly smiled as you continued complimenting him, "Speaking of family...Sinju, you are going to be the best husband in the world." 

The reaction you got out of him made your heart skip a few beats.

You asked him for a photoshoot, but he kept refusing. Why? There was nothing more satisfying to Zakuro than teasing you. 

You followed him everywhere and tried to take pictures of him in his anniversary outfit, but he managed to ruin the photo every time. 

Annoyed by his teasing, you pouted, "Fine. I will just pick a random picture of you for the anniversary merch. Now, I'm going to take pictures of the muscular guys in Starless while they're shirtless." 

Zakuro, in the middle of removing his jacket, turned to look at you. His expression stuck between ara ara and wth did you just say.  

"Hurry up, will ya? This is getting annoyin'." 

Mizuki was getting impatient with the photoshoot, more so with your desire to take the perfect picture. For some reason, he was moodier than usual, and not even food bribes worked. 

"Hey Mizuki, if you cooperate with me, then I will give you a kiss." 

His cheeks turned red as he averted his eyes and puffed his cheeks. He held one hand out to you and pouted, "Gimme a kiss now." 

He has never looked cuter.

It really isn't, 'cause both neuropsychology and behavioral genetics study the relationship between physiology and psychology/behaviour. There is no such distinction that behavioral genetics strictly regards genetic causality.

Yes, it there is such a distinction. Here's the definition of behavioral genetics from Wikipedia:

"Behavioural genetics, also referred to as behaviour genetics, is a field of scientific research that uses genetic methods to investigate the nature and origins of individual differences in behaviour. While the name 'behavioural genetics' connotes a focus on genetic influences, the field broadly investigates the extent to which genetic and environmental factors influence individual differences, and the development of research designs that can remove the confounding of genes and environment"

Neuropsychology examines all biological factors, whether these are genetic or external (i.e. environmental). Behavioural genetics only examines genetics as a factor.

It is established that environmental influences cannot be controlled for and have to be considered, as every single research ever will remind you. I explained this several times. You can read this on the actual papers with your eyes.

I feel like you don't understand what "environmental" means. To put it simply, "environmental" means "non-hereditary." Here is a definition from the APA Dictionary of Psychology:

"the aggregate of external agents or conditions—physical, biological, social, and cultural—that influence the functions of an organism."

In utero, the primary environmental factors are related to hormones. That is what that article you provided was saying. It has nothing to do with social factors.

Traumatic brain injuries are known to drastically change cognition and behavior. The reason is both environmental and biological: they are external and directly affect the biology of the nervous system.

You really need to actually understand what you're talking about before acting all arrogant.

First of all: "There has been no direct evidence that the BST has such a role in human sexual behaviour". So the premise of this study is predicated on something only observed in rats.

How about you include the rest of the quote? "[...] but our demonstration of a sexually dimorphic pattern in the size of the human BSTc, which is in agreement with the previously described sex difference in a more caudal part of the human BST (BNST-dspm)".

So it still is sexually dimorphic. And also, rats are often used in medical experiments, including neuropsych ones. This isn't some exception.

However, in the previous section they explain "All the transsexuals had been treated with oestrogen", but insist that this isn't relevant because 2 of the 6 (absolutely laughable sample size) subjects had stopped oestrogen for a brief period of 15 months for one and 3 months for another before death. So they completely disregard the life-long effect of oestrogen in the entirety of their sample.

Sample sizes are always low for these kinds of things. It isn't great, obviously, but it's too expensive to have a high one.

You forgot to mention that a cisgender man exposed to estrogen still had a male-sized BSTc. But either way, these transsexual women didn't have high levels of estrogen in the blood at the time of study.

Ok, you're stupid-stupid. The first article I linked explained this, but you evidently don't read even what you claim supports your arguments. Environmental influence doesn't require you to understand it. I also already explained this. It begins in utero. You pick up shit in the womb. Babies and pre-language children pick up behavioral cues. You absorb behaviours by exposure, not understanding. You were influenced. We all are. It is impossible not to be. It is also not impossible there to be neurophysiological variations not caused by environmental factors which occur spontaneously and are causally related to dysphoria, except this hasn't been found.

I did read it, I just have an accurate understanding of what "environmental" means. The primary environmental factors in utero are related to hormones.

I looked through your links. All the articles about specific cases seem to be people who were dissatisfied with low-quality results. This is not a problem with medical transition generally, but with botched surgeries specifically. This makes sense, as a previous study found that besides patients being overwhelmingly happy with the results, dissatisfaction is most strongly associated with the physical and function results. Regardless, these anecdotes do not negate the fact that less than 1% of patients regret surgery.

I see you provided Dhekne et al. (2011), despite the fact that it doesn't show that suicides increased. And before you berate me for citing a blog: you did too. All of the authors says is reliable and you can verify yourself.

As for that ScienceDirect article, it doesn't compare the mortality of post- and pre-HRT individuals. Rather, it is comparing post-HRT trans people to the general population, which is incredibly unscientific and problematic. The only valid results you can get from it is that even after HRT, trans people are still more likely to die. None of this changes the fact that HRT reduces depression by 10X.

I don't even have to read whatever is in that SEGM article to know its pure garbage. The Yale School of Medicine led a report that ended up critiquing the SEGM a ton, as they were cited by a far-right lawmaker. It eventually says: "The misrepresentation of Steensma on the SEGM website constitutes a major violation of the scientific method and the accepted conventions of research." It also came out that the SEGM is financed by the Koch network, and personally, I'm not a fan of billionaire propaganda.

Dysphoria ≠ trans identity. Dysphoria is real. Trans is a social identity.

But since gender dysphoria is caused by a misalignment of internal sex and biological sex, trans identity has biological foundation.

I’ve seen a lot about your thoughts on Elisabeth and Tanz der Vampire, and they’ve been really helpful getting into those musicals! But you have a huge list of other musicals that people can get into…

So I was wondering if you had any musicals you hadn’t mentioned in a while that you really like or would like to talk about??? (preferably something from your lists that has a blue heart please?)

Oh if only you knew how long the list of European musicals really is... I however have only seen 9 (if I counted right) and I have a lot more that I still need to watch. Oh also, I only put the blue hearts on any musicals that I was providing multiple links for so people could see which version I reccoment the most highly. If a musical only had one link and didn't have a blue heart it doesn't mean I didn't like it.

I've watched: Mozart das Musical, Elisabeth das Musical, Tanz der Vampire, 3 Musketiers, Mozart L'Opéra Rock, Dracula (the Graz production), Rebecca das Musical, Roméo et Juliette and Schikaneder.

If you enjoyed those two you're likely to enjoy Rebecca! It's written by the same composer/lyricist team as Elisabeth and Mozart (and same lyricist as Tanz der Vampire - though if you're listening to any German musical, original or translated, 90% of the time the lyrics will have been done by Michael Kunze that man is everywhere). The Stuttgart production has my favourite set design of any musical! Well... Actually probably. There are so many big set pieces it's insane, way more than I've seen in some Broadway and West End musicals. You can tell so much work went into it and the visual effects that I won't spoil if you don't know the plot but if you know the plot you know what I mean by the effects at the end are so good and I didn't expect them at all and I freaked out so much the first time I watched it. Jan Ammann as Maxim in the Stuttgart production is the best Maxim. No I won't take any argument. Other actors feel a bit one-dimensional to me, but the way Maxim acts at times comes from trauma and some actors and productions seem to forget that, but Jan really goes for it and his Maxim is a lot more sympathetic and I just want to give him a hug. Pia Douwes as Mrs Danvers, if you've seen her in Elisabeth what more do I need to say, she's amazing. A musical goddess. Her Danny is a bit more wild than some, but she kills it. My favourite video, which I put the blue heart next to, has understudy Christina Patten as Ich/I, but I adore her she's my favourite. She adds some spunk to Ich in act 2 and her voice is so pretty and aaaa. I just love these three actors together in these roles.

Roméo et Juliette is another favourite of mine! It's hard to choose which one to recommend, but it has to be the original 2000/2001 production because of the sweetness and chemistry and voices of Damien Sargue and Cecilia Cara as Romeo and Juliet. They're so pretty and work together so well. The only reason I say it's hard to pick is Mercutio. I adore him, but in the original production they cut out a song they had planned for him and he doesn't really do much at all? In the 2010 revival they gave him two more songs and you care about him so much more and John Eyzen plays such a good Mercutio. So I'd recommend the original but if you want to like Mercutio more, which you should he's amazing, I'd recommend watching at least clips of John's. It's an interesting musical because all productions are non-replica and also change around the order of songs, add or take away characters, all sorts. The Hungarian production is also very popular and I'm sure it's great, I just haven't' gotten around to watching it yet.

Mozart das Musical was the first non-English language musicals I watched so I have a fondness for it, but it's not my favourite. However, I do realise I have forgotten most of the songs and the few I've gone back and listened to are better than I remember.

Dracula isn't super popular and I understand why, I don't love the plot of the Dracula/Mina romance in it, however. I do love this musical because despite how I find the plot lacking, the songs are so good! At least, I love them. And the actors are all doing a great job. And it's one of the few Dracula adaptions to keep Quincy Morris so they get bonus points for that.

Mozart L'Opéra Rock and modern French musicals... This isn't necessarily a bad thing, but they're often more like pop-rock operas now. So if you're not into musicals with that style of music it might not be for you, but I still enjoyed it even though I didn't think I would because of the style of music. Mozart and Salieri's chemistry is very good, Salieri's bisexual crisis song is iconic, actually all of Salieri's songs are iconic.

Schikaneder... eh. I didn't like it that much and I didn't really like any of the songs. There's no English subtitles, but someone sent me the entire English synopsis and I watched it with a German friend so I had double the help of understanding it. Doesn't mean others might not like it, just none of the songs stood out to me and I had no desire to listen to any of them again. It's by Steven Scharwz of Wicked fame and I love Wicked, but I didn't love this.

3 Musketiers!! God it's so underrated and not spoken about within the European musical fandom that I even forget about it and literally forgot to write about it earlier in this post. It's a Dutch musical (though did also have a German production) and it's really good!? Faces you might know are Pia Douwes as Milady de Winter, Stanley Burlseon as Cardinal Richeliu (Netherlands Der Tod in Elisabeth), Henk Poort as Athos (Netherlands Phantom and Jean Valjean). The dialgoue is funny, the songs are good, some of the set pieces have no right to exist in this tiny musical?? They made this giant boat and pelt the actors with rain just for one 5 minute song and then we never see the boat again? And while I recommend the Dutch one because Dutch musicals deserve more love and it has official English subtitles!! Official ones, not fanmade! I have the DVD and it comes with English subtitles (and Dutch and German subtitles) which is so nice. The German version is also good, good cast, Pia came back and Uwe Kroger as Richeliu and omg they rearranged the songs and the German arrangement of Nicht Aus Stein is insane and amazing and frankly iconic.

That's all of the ones I have watched. Next on my list to watch are Rudolf and Notre Dame de Paris, both of which I have listened to some songs from and already love (I've listened to way too much of Notre Dame de Paris and am so in love).

I want to start organising streams where I'll host the musical either by getting the video from Youtube or my own files and anyone who wants to join can come along and watch with us, chat with us if you want or just watch there's no pressure to chat. I thought about doing weekly streams? This would also make me finally watch some of the ones I've been meaning to for ages. But I keep wondering about time zones. I'm in the UK and would want to stream at about 11pm at the latest (11pm BST/GMT+1 as we’re in daylight savings at the moment, if the streams continue past the end of October which would be wild then I’ll make a note of the time change that would be to 11pm GMT), which I know can work for other UK and Europeans, but for any Americans would be in the afternoon. So, I wondered if doing it on a weekend would be better? Then it doesn't matter if it's in the afternoon? Maybe Saturday evenings then? It would either be Saturday evenings UK time or Friday evenings UK time. What do you guys think? If people are down then I'll make a separate post with a list of what we'll be watching each week and if anything happens to me that means I can't stream one week then everything will just get pushed back a week, but I don't see that as likely to happen. And I'll only be streaming those that have English subtitles, so don't worry about not being able to understand anything.

edit: am also open to 10pm bst if others want that, im just trying to think of what time works best for everyone so sorry if 11pm is a little late for europeans, i know 10pm could be a little early for americans. also in case it sounded like these are the only musicals i will be streaming, thats not so, ive got more than just the ones mentioned on this list!

Most recent Observation Duty video has changed name and thumbnail.

This could be related to the recent title change of 'Dark Silence' to 'What Do You Want From Me?' but most likely not seeing as there weren't any obvious firestarters or spooky/suspicious moments regarding egos in the video as far as I remember.

Also as a sidenote, this post is over a day late because I forgot to post it whoops but timestamps are still accurate for when they were taken.
