📸Amid relentless hardship and acute starvation outside the UNHCR office, I crafted poignant slogans on July 16th, 2024, to protest their failure to restore my freedom, dignity, and rights. My two-day chanting ended with aggressive police involvement on July 18th, 2024, resulting in an unjust two-month-long incarceration on the island of Crete without due process. Returning on September 11th, 2024, all my possessions were missing. Prompt donations and support are vital amid renewed starvation. The picture shows my slogans and me next to my older banner.

The eyes give it away, trauma is embedded in them, imagine soldiers coming and attacking you, yes I have read about it but when you meet people who have gone through it well I remember feeling numb and I just kept asking myself how can people think they can get away with it and yet it seems to be the case. Conflict and war is endemic, and the casualties of conflict are left behind and often simply forgotten.
