Twas 8 years ago that I spotted this squirrel while I was walking back to the barracks. I've deleted so many pictures since then but for some reason, not of this squirrel from that that hot summer afternoon. Perhaps its fate and mine were briefly entangled as it kept its unwavering gaze upon mine. Perhaps this squirrel is still alive, or perhaps it's passed on to the great beyond. Since April 22nd 20 year old #vanessaguillen has been missing. Another victim of #sexualassault in the military. This time at #forthood Today her body was found and her senior officer killed himself. The same senior officer she complained to her family was sexually harrassing her. Far too many stories like this. M3 Stuart Light Tanks at the 1st CAV Division Museum at Fort Hood, Texas (Oct 2016). The one with the Japanese markings represents one of the captured Stuarts in the Philippines in April 1942 used by Japanese Army 3rd Company 7th Tank Regiment.

The Stuart with the US markings is an M3A1.

Happy Memorial Day Weekend, Frazetta Fans! 📸: Death Dealer & the US Army III Corps Fort Hood, Texas In April 1986, an agreement between my grandparents (Frank and Ellie) and Saint allowed US Army III Corps to use ‘The Death Dealer.’ The Army’s adaptation of the figure was referred to as the “Phantom Warrior” and has served as the III Corps symbol for over 25 years. Sadly, my grandpa passed away before they could fly him out and dedicate the statue to him. The Army has all kinds mascots for various units but the III Corps mascot is Frank Frazetta’s ‘Death Dealer” how bad ass is that? So empowering! Thank you to all who’ve served and who continue to serve our country. God bless you all.
