We ask that you choose your top 5 favorites in each category but then rank the order in which you’d rate them in the ‘other’ option. If you’ve got any questions about how that works, do not hesitate to ask us. The ranking per usual goes five points for first place, four points for second and so on so please put your votes in order accordingly. Please vote before the 10th of November as we will be announcing the winners from that point onward before the end of the event. RELATIONSHIP TO GREER: He actually first met her backstage before opening night of his first play. They had a quick chat then and probably would have thought she was an interesting person… if he could remember that conversation. He was high at the time, trying his best to hide it from everyone around them—and failing at it too. Greer would have been able to notice that in their brief conversation. That was the performance that ended their run on Broadway and was the catalyst for them going back to college. Cal had no idea she was at Ogden and was shocked when they ended up at the same party once. While they mostly ran in different social circles, they did talk to her a few times when Cal ended up going to parties that she was at, but they remained wary of her. He mostly avoided her though because he didn’t really like her all that much and if there's anything Cal hates most, it's being around people he can't stand.

PLEASE EXPAND ON HOW THEY EMBODY THEIR SKELETON TROPE. Cal has always been the type to know that they’re destined for more. Ever since he was a child, he knew that Broadway was the dream. They wanted to see their name in bright lights, to be up on the stage, and to be known. For them, acting has always been the goal. And though it was a rocky road, at the age of fifteen, he got there—a one off audition when he and his aunt were visiting New York City for the weekend turned into something more. Cal was heading north for a musical. After two shows, Cal started to feel some of those feelings that a ton of child actors feel. Pressure to do better and be better was greater than ever and after getting drunk and essentially sleeping with someone who was their boss and a whirlwind relationship between the two of them (despite his boss being married), Cal went down a bit of a spiral. Parties and drugs—and sure he was eighteen at the time, a barely adult who’d never really had a stable family to begin with, but it was still too much. Everything was too much and it was his only coping mechanism to deal with the way the world around them worked. Calloway was like that for three more years—until their first play. No one knew there was anything wrong then. They wouldn’t have known anything was wrong then. But a few months into their first play—after the first public performance—, Cal came to it so drunk and high that he nearly fell off the stage, couldn’t remember any of their lines, and was a genuine mess the whole show. It was enough that finally someone noticed. Cal went to rehab and then decided a change in scenery would be good for him, which is how he ended up at Ogden. He’s been broken many times, theater is his passion, but through circumstances outside their own control, Cal has only ever been left broken by the people around them. They're a tragedy of Shakespearian proportion. Time away from New York City will do him good though and maybe heal some of those wounds they never had a chance to fully heal from. And until then, they can continue to hone those skills they learned as a child at Ogden.

BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION:

Calvin Horowitz was born to two archeologists, which meant they traveled a lot as a child, but Cal was five when their parents decided they probably could benefit from settling down in one place, so they shipped their child off to live with his aunt in the states. Since his parents didn't really get a lot of time, most of their communication was done through an occasional video call and the post cards they sent of every place they'd ever lived. While they did not the most ideal relationship, Cal eventually really liked getting to live in on place, even if they didn't always get along with their aunt.

Their relationship with their aunt was nothing if not complicated. Clearly she didn't want to bear the responsibility of raising a child that wasn't hers. She constantly fought with her sister on the phone when she thought Cal couldn't hear, but they heard about half of them. It wasn't her fault, they knew. Cal threw themself into activities that would let them be out of the house and not be a burden on their aunt. They tried everything from soccer, like so many of the other kids his age, but Cal fell in love with acting when there was a summer program for theatre. They signed up and in almost an instant everyone could see they had talent. Their relationship with their aunt somewhat changed when she realized she probably could capitalize on Cal's talent.

(death tw) One of the worst arguments that Cal got into with their parents was when they had a major role in a musical and their parents promised to come. When they didn't show up, Cal got really upset and accused them of not caring about him. Two days later, both their parents died in an accident and Cal never really forgave himself for their argument, even if it wasn't his fault. Especially since a few weeks after the accident, Cal got a callback from an audition he'd done while he and his aunt were in downtown Atlanta. The guilt didn't stop them from booking the role.

Suddenly Cal's life was rehearsals and trying on costumes. Their first role was a hit and the director, a younger up and coming playwright had the perfect role for Cal. His aunt let him drop out of school and be tutored like other child actors did. They moved to a small shitty apartment in New Jersey and Cal thrived. Their love of theatre only grew, even if it was a tough field to truly do well in. They started becoming more popular, booking bigger roles. It seemed like everything was in place for Cal to succeed in the Broadway scene.

(death tw) For Cal, school was always a struggle. He wasn’t academic in nature, often being called out by his tutors for not paying attention and constantly being a distraction. Acting was the only place they ever felt like they belonged, so that’s where they put effort. Singing lessons, dance lessons, costume fittings and rehearsals. Time was flying and moving slow at the same time. Cal's aunt was proud of them, but somehow they knew their parents wouldn't be proud. So they pushed themself to do better and be better, as a child actor. A week before Cal turned seventeen, their aunt passed away. She’d made plans to moved back home and by then, Cal was earning enough money to live comfortable in the city on their own. But three days before he turned eighteen, she passed away from a heart attack and they were once again on their own. Cal never really dealt with the grief of having lost their parents and now their aunt was gone, they didn’t really know what to do but keep acting, keep their career on track, and act like nothing was wrong because, well, he's a good actor.

Skip a few years later and Cal was in their first play, but dealing with a lot emotionally and struggling with pressure to do better career wise. The last couple of years had been a kind of downward spiral with drugs. Their reputation was not the greatest after it was leaked that they'd been having an affair with the director that found them all those years in Atlanta—a married man. Between the affair and drugs, Cal's career was beginning to feel like it had peaked when they were younger, but directors still wanted to work with them and their agent booked them a role in a play. A bad performance and a decision to leave Broadway for education is how Cal ended up at Ogden. The official story is that he wanted to focus on his education before returning to Broadway. Tabloids long suspected he was a product of child actor syndrome. His agent said maybe a break away from everything was needed and Cal knew that was probably true.

2, team im currently on and why:

the miami dale who NOTHING BAD WILL EVER HAPPEN TO! i uhhh live in florida yknow which explains this. im also basically roommates with the lovers & the wings & the georgias im holding hands with a lot of teams because i love them.

6, storyline i keep coming back to again and again:

Season 7 postseason for the Mexico City Wild Wings. I’m genuinely insane about it. Sometimes you have been Mild and Wild and Wexico and Mexico and then you hit the postseason as the CDMX Mild Wings and in no way should you have gotten there. But the Wings make it and they fully block like. Knight Triumphant could have died if the Lovers won that. If the Garages won Champs would have gotten Jaylen. its just so many little dominoes that add up into such a narrative. Like i honestly think if the Garages won it’d just be like. Idk. scrappy underdogs with nothing to lose except their lives vs the former heroes playing host to a heel who tore a hole through the league narrative countering the whole narrative jaylen’s driving of you will win but is it worth it. look at what youve done. Season 7 was scripted I swear to god.

9, favorite stupid blaseball moment:

Crowvertime… 2! Tot Fox walks out. Reece Saetang continues the strike. Jaxon Buckley is pitching because why the fuck not. Against all odds, the Pies win.

PolkaDot Patterson but also they don’t really count because my thoughts on them don’t really line up with main fanon, including my thoughts about their Alternation. i do like them though dottie my friend dottie :)

33, favorite aspect of blaseball:

COLLABORATIVE LOREBUILDING!!!! You can just say words in a circle and have people riff off that until it builds. and i love it i love talking with my friends i love it so much.

Words that make you feel good. Nobody is immune.” It was a key part to some manipulations. If people could trick the brain into thinking they were being rewarded, they were more likely to repeat behaviours, and in the case of this wolf, it seemed it may just work. “I do,” Fox said blankly, smile fading instantly, “one of the few in this cesspool state that does.” Of course the wolf was straight to business, and Fox liked that: no dithering on small talk. “Fox Lucero. If you feel leech is more appropriate, that is up to you. As for what I offer you, is this brief exchange of information. Tell me what I want to know, and I can offer you information in return. Quid pro quo. That, or something as simple as leaving you be. After this, consider it a promise that I shall never bother you or your pack again. Your type could always use one less vampire to concern themselves over, no?” The smirk returned. While selling secrets was not Fox’s business, he know the importance of knowledge, and that often was more precious than anything physical. “So, let me ask you this:

I show the past and the present,

with my roots at the top,

if all parts of me die,

my growing will stop.

What am I?”

Locations: Vampire territory / Berseker’s.

Characters involved: Hollis, Hayden, Jaxon and Nolan (unconscious)

Note: Despite Fox being mentioned, all parties have agreed that we are going to pretend his was a name out of many and that nobody knows it was him.

Hayden had taken her old truck to try and find Nolan, figuring it would emit more light than her motorcycle. She had been searching everywhere, carefully entering districts of other species, until she ended up in vampire territory. The possibility of him being there wasn’t a good thing, but she kept driving around to look until she spotted a figure laying on the ground and her blood ran cold. She got closer and started to panic when she realized it was him. She quickly put the truck in park and ran over to where he lay, but it didn’t look great. He was unconscious and his arm was clearly messed up, and she saw the signs of a vampire having drained him. She called out his name and looked for a pulse, it was there but it was weak. After swearing many times, she took out her phone and dialed Hollis’ number. “Doc, I need your help. Nolan’s been attacked, I’m in vampire territory and his pulse is so weak…please you have to fix him,” she said frantically, and gave him her exact location. “You can’t tell anyone but his lab is in the basement of my bar, he’s got a bunch of stuff there and a bed, that might be the best place to work on him. Please…I can’t lose him.” Just the thought of that made her throat feel tight.

Hollis It wasn't very often that Hollis got calls in the middle of the night. Hollis had just been lounging on his couch, reading a book, when he heard his phone vibrate. He assumed it was going to be Jaxon, just checking in, so when he looked at the screen and noticed it was Hayden, he was a bit perplexed. Answering the phone, he barely got out a hello before she began. She was panicking and that certainly wasn't something Hayden Liu typically did, "Hey. Slow down." Hollis spoke, standing up so he could start getting ready, "You're not going to lose him." Hollis knew Nolan from his Hideout days. He and Hayden were inseparable. "Has he been exsanguinated?" Hollis asked, opening up his supply closet to grab just whatever be might need, "I don't have supplies for that just hanging around." He added in, "What's been injured on him?"

Hayden Hayden tried to slow down but she was too busy trying to make sure Nolan stayed alive. “I don’t know, there’s a vampire bite for sure and he looks pale,” she said frantically. This wasn’t her usual demeanour at all. “I’m a universal donour just use me if you have to I don’t care. His arm also looks broken. I have my truck here but I’m worried I can’t get him into it,” she said out loud as she tried to figure a solution just by looking at the truck.

Hollis Hollis sighed. What the hell had Nolan done to get himself in a situation like this? "Using you is a last case scenario. I'll go to the blood bank. Pick up some blood." He said as worked on getting himself dressed. Hollis sighed, running his fingers through his hair, "Okay, I'll send someone to help. He'll help you get him into the truck while I get supplies. And I'll meet you back at Berserkers." Hollis paused for a moment, "He's going to be okay. Send me your location if you can." And with that, Hollis hung up. Immediately, he dialed Jaxon's number. The wolf would be there for Hollis. "Jax, hey. I need your help. There's been a vampire attack and my friend needs some help. Are you busy?"

Jaxon

In terms of the long list of Alpha related things that he needed to cross out today, Jaxon Reed was doing quite alright for himself. He had run a few errands, visited a few pack members and he had even gotten a start on securing a lot for a new business in the area, making that Syndico's next base. What he had not anticipated was Hollis..or more specifically, his requesting for help of that kind --vampires? Since when was this his problem? He had tried to question it, taking a couple extra seconds to reply, but..who the fuck could ever say no to the medic? Surely not him.. "..no. Not too busy. What do you need?" he asked, tightening his hold around the object.

Hollis There was always a hint of doubt that Jaxon might just tell Hollis to kick dirt and to carry on with his night, but luckily, that didn't happen. He released a sigh of relief as he tossed random odds and ends in his bag, "My friend found one of her friends attacked by a vampire. He's alive. For now. But she can't lift him into her truck. Do you think you could go there and give her a hand? I have to go to the blood bank and get some blood packs. Figuring we could kill two birds with one stone if you're willing..."

Jaxon Humans. What else could they be if they were not healing? The Alpha released a sigh and nodded, full aware he was the only one who could actually see him doing so, "Sounds simple enough, so long as whoever this is okay with me going." he added, again, smiling through the phone. "Text me the address --I'm not far. Are you okay?"

Hollis "She'll be fine with it. You're there to help." He paused, lifting his bag from the ground as he grabbed his leather jacket, "It's Hayden. So...you know. Be gentle. She is one of my best friends." Hollis knew there was some awkward history there. Maybe this would fix it, who knows? "I'll send you the address as soon as we hang up. I'm okay. Promise. See you soon for proof." Hollis hung up the phone and immediately copied Hayden's text and sent it to Jax. Hollis grabbed his cane and keys before he headed out. He had blood bags to gather.

Jaxon "Cool." The elder wolf muttered with a slight roll to his eyes at the memory of that name. They had definitely crossed paths and once in the past with her now deceased parents, so that encounter alone was bound to be very interesting. Ah, what the hell --anything for Hollis. "I'll keep my big mouth shut, if that's what you're worried about but I won't be seen favoring the humans in all this, so I'm hoping it was an isolated accident." with those words, Jax sighed, "..that's good to hear. I'll see you then, doc. I'm sure it'll be fine."

Hayden Hayden was monitoring Nolan, ready to go into CPR mode if he stopped breathing. For now she was just worrying and constantly looking around for possible threats. Once she spotted a figure approaching, she immediately took out a knife from her belt holster and stood up, but grew confused when she saw it was Jaxon. What the hell was he doing here? It then dawned on her that she should have expected a wolf, but this wolf? Not what she had been hoping. “Please don’t tell me he sent you of all people,” she sighed, but shook her head because right now she just didn’t care about herself. “I just need to get him into my truck. Then I guess you’re riding with me,” she grumbled, not entirely pleased with the situation but putting it aside for Nolan.

Jaxon By the time he got there, Jaxon already knew exactly what to expect. Some kind of weapon pointed at him, a big, fat frown across the human's features and how to possibly dodge that one--confusion. "I'm guessin' Hollis has not updated you on the situation." he smiled, not in a rush to fix that gap of information with such wonderful news. He had come straight up, deciding against sneaking up on her..and it had paid off. "Yes, he sent me. You mind pullin' the knife down, sugar?" Reed had noticed the scent of blood. Strong and..very well capable of luring unwanted company -which it hadn't yet, much to her luck, and then the man on the ground. The Alpha bowed his head and crouched down to inspect the wounds, then looked over to the truck. "..I'll grab his armpits, you do the feet? Unless you rather get the engine started and I can do this m'self."

Hayden Hayden rolled her eyes at the pet name and scoffed, but she put her knife away anyways. "What situation?" she asked before shaking her head and walking over towards Nolan's feet. "Yeah, I'm not leaving you alone with him. Come on, my truck starts pretty easily anyways," she sighed as she waited for him to get into position before lifting Nolan and going the few steps over to her truck. Thankfully the seats were roomy, she wouldn't have wanted to just throw him in the back after all. She set down Nolan's feet and opened the passenger door. "We can put him between us, I'll just lean him on my lap," she instructed.

Jaxon Jaxon met the scoff with an all too knowing look, pursing his lips. "I'll let him tell you about that." This felt like Hollis' decision and at the same time, something not for the now..not when the human on their feet was bleeding out half-way to death with some nasty bite marks all over him. Whoever this human was to Hayden, the Alpha knew he was important to her and so..he complied with a slight scoff. The man was lifted easily and brought to where she'd intended to place him, making sure he was careful. "We want to keep him upright. Apply some wet towel on his face to keep him awake or he could go into shock. Keep talkin' to him." Jax frowned..not thinking it twice before jumping onto the driver's seat as soon as possible. There, he turned to her, extending his bloodied palm. "Keys?"

Hayden Whatever the news was, Hayden had a very strong feeling she would hate it. It crossed her mind that Hollis might have joined Jaxon's pack and that didn't sit well with her, but for now she was telling herself she could be pissed off when the time came. She hopped into the passenger seat once Nolan was lifted into the truck and grabbed a water bottle she kept in the cup holder, then looked around before remembering she had a change of tshirt in her glove box. She took that out and poured the water on it, leaning Nolan against herself and pressed the wet cloth to the bite. Was she happy to be letting Jax drive her truck? Absolutely not. But it was necessary right now so she grabbed the keys from her pocked and put them in his hand. "You know how to get to my bar? I guess Hollis is trusting you enough to know that's where we're headed." Jaxon was the last person she thought would find out where Nolan's lab was. She glanced over at Nolan's unconscious self leaning against her and wrapped her free arm around his shoulders to keep him close.

Jaxon So she was following suit. Good. The last thing they needed now was to go down the rabbit hole of their past or yes, his relationship with the doctor. Jax simply squeezed the keys and thrust them into the contact, which he then only had to turn..successfully starting the engine roar - "You mean the bersekers? Hell yeah, I know." The knowing implied so much more than just the one thing and it didn't take long before he felt the need to elaborate slightly, eyes traveling between the humans and the road as he got them started on their way. "Hollis is who I'm doin' this for. But ..if my instincts are right on this you don't want to be messin' with the vampire." he huffed, "I got every reason to believe your friend was not who he was after." The alpha drove, checking his phone for a split second for hollis and then stepping onto that speed pedal.

Hayden Now that she knew she was stuck with him in a vehicle until they arrived, Hayden was a bit more on edge. She scowled just at the thought of whatever vampire did this. "I don't fucking care if Nolan was the target or not, I'm going to find that son of a bitch and tear them to shreds." Nolan was the sweetest person she knew, the thought of anyone hurting him sent her into a rage. Whether it was from sadness or anger, she could feel her eyes getting hot with the threat of tears and she hated that. "So is this your deal? Just happening to be around when humans get fatally wounded?" she asked with an edge to her voice, too angry at everything to even pick one target.

Jaxon "You got some guts in ya, huh?" Jaxon scoffed softly, looking at her out of the corner of his eye with a smile. "..but yeah, I'm sure you will." She would try, that is. In all honesty, the wolf did not see much success in it, especially when it came to Fox being the way he was. And he had no doubt in his mind that if Nolan was alive now, it was because he had wanted to..so Hayden here better be careful. Glancing down at the bleeding human and up before speeding up some more into the night, Jaxon then made a left. "..I was close by, doing my own thing. Then Hollis called with a favor, so yeah, I just so happened to be around. Did you find him or did he call? The science guy."

Hayden "Kind of have to just to survive as a human," Hayden pointed out. She appreciated him speeding up, every second felt like hours right now. She felt a tear escape and quickly turned her head towards Nolan's to try and not let Jax see it. "I meant how you were just there when my dad died too, but good to know," she replied with a sideways glare. "Nolan, the science guy's name is Nolan. I found him. No one heard from him for a couple days and I got worried," she explained, but her thoughts instead went to something else. "You know who did this, don't you? Tell me," she insisted as she looked over to him directly.

Jaxon

A look was turned in her general direction. "Sometimes it feels like you lot are /not/ in touch with your own mortality. S'that a suicidal mission you're about to go on?" Hollis would surely disapprove and perhaps then understand him a little better when he said he could not face those demons up alone..which, speaking of, had gone radio silence for a while now. "Your dad." he frowned then, "..I guess just coincidence. Back then, I was following other orders." Jax should say sorry, he really should...but what for? It might just be that his ego wasn't letting him and he went on to listen instead. It was good she thought to investigate. It really was. "I do. But don't you think we got other priorities now?"

Hayden

"If Nolan dies, then yes it is," Hayden answered bluntly. Because really, if Nolan did die, Hayden wouldn't want to go on living knowing the vampire who did it was still walking around. "I've only got like ten years before I'm older than my dad ever was anyways," she shrugged her one shoulder that wasn't supporting Nolan. Her brows furrowed at his weak explanation for her father's death. Orders, sure. "Not much I can do until we get to Hollis, so you tell me who did this and I can deal with it when Nolan is alright," she explained, without adding the 'or dead' part because she didn't want to give that thought any power.

Jaxon "I am not against it but it is pretty stupid. I trust you know that." It would really not get either of them what they needed but luckily it seemed that Nolan here was going to make it. His heart beat might be weak, but it was still going..along with his breathing. Hollis would just do his magic and then..this would be out of his hands again. "How much do you know about that night, Hayden? Did your dad ever tell you what he was up to?" Guess if she wanted to have that conversation, they could, right? His hands only seemed to tighten around the wheel then, considering stuff, and then spoke. "Name's Fox? He follows the overlord's command but..I get the feelin' it's a bit of an act."

Hayden "Yeah probably, but I was allowed to pick stupid the minute my kid became an adult and didn't need me anymore anyways," Hayden said bluntly. the way Jax spoke about the night her father died...she wasn't sure she liked the idea that there were parts she didn't know. She had spent years trying not to think that way. "No, I was taking care of a six year old at the time, he didn't want to put much more on me at the time...why?" she added as she narrowed her eyes, wondering if she would even believe whatever he said next. "Fox, good to know," not a vamp she knew but one she certainly wouldn't forget now. "Who is the overlord after then?"

Jaxon "Kids always need their parents." Jaxon blurted out all of a sudden, inadvertently unveiling something about himself and his own past in the process. And then, he supposed it also surprised him that Hayden would have a kid. Not something he expected to relate to her about. "At least I'd like to think so." Speaking of --he missed the little man. Funny how those things worked...how things were working now. "Your father was spoken about quite a lot back in the day..so, I dare say there might be more to it than just the one incident, that's all." No, it wasn't. But alas. "what? Axel keep you out of his scheming too?"

Hayden "Human ones learn to live without them pretty early on," she added, knowing most she knew had long lost their parents. Hayden realized that statement coming from him could go either way, but she didn't know anything about his family. She decided she'd look into whatever he was saying about her father after this ordeal, but she still wasn't sure she'd believe whatever he was getting at. "I've been preoccupied lately, and Axel tells me what I need to know," she insisted. "He knows what he's doing." Thankfully she could see the bar now, because she wasn't sure how long she could be her version of civil for.

Jaxon Well, maybe they did not share that much in common after all. The Alpha did not do much in the ways of answering that, resorting to the kind of look that let the other know that he'd heard and understood, and at last reached the area of their destination. He glanced up, meaning..wanting to see Hollis and kept going for a few more miles, lips parting with a low scoff at her word on the commander. "I sure hope so..for y'all's sake." Jaxon drove forth and finally stopped, sending a quick signal with the lights of the car before undoing his belt. "Need help bringing him in, I'd assume?"

Hollis Luckily, blood banks were open all hours of the night. He would assume for vampire purposes. Hollis had been there quite a few times so he wasn't unfamiliar. He purchased eight bags, just to be safe. Hayden mentioned Nolan had been almost drained so eight should be close to what he would need. Once he secured that, he hopped back on his motorcycle (thank you, Jaxon) and zipped over towards Berserkers. He parked the bike on the side of the bar and was walking around when he spotted a truck and a pair of flashing lights. Walking over towards the truck, Hollis opened the passenger door when he spotted Jaxon driving and he sighed, "Jesus Christ." Nolan looked terrible. The poor guy. Reaching out, Hollis took ahold of Nolan, "Unlock the bar, Hayden." He instructed softly and looked at Jaxon, "We can carry him in." (edited)

Hayden Hayden nodded as she slipped out of the truck and rushed to the bar’s door to unlock it. She held it open as they brought Nolan inside. “By the way, I found some weird note on him?” she added as she took it out of her pocket and showed it to them as they walked past. She then rushed over to the trap door and opened it to lead to the stairs and the lab, which she also opened for them. She gave Hollis a look before glancing at Jax and back at him, hoping she could convey that they were definitely talking about that later.

Jaxon Although nothing was done to let it show, seeing Hollis brought some undeniable comfort to the Alpha --something which still felt rare. It was great at distracting him from what he had just done and it set him into action right on time, his eyes tracking the way the two friends looked at each other and at Nolan before jumping off the vehicle. Then, his hands came in contact with the human and aided the doctor in its retrieval from the car. "We need to be careful about this, Hol.." Jax said in a hushed voice, eyes serious beneath the furrowed eyebrows. What inventive, yet typical thing had Fox left them? Reed had every right to know, he thought, snapping the car's door shut seconds before they carried the poor human through. "What d'you think the note says?"

Hollis His eyes narrowed at the note as Hayden showed them a quick glance at it, "What does that even mean? Failure?" He asked, more or less rhetorically. Pushing that thought aside, he gingerly moved Nolan through the bar and stopped at the sight of the trap door. He looked over to Jaxon and shrugged a bit, guiding them down the stairs, "How long has this been here?" He asked when they came across Nolan's fabled lab. It felt wrong to be there, honestly, but it was comfortable for Nolan, that's really what mattered. Hollis flicked his brows as a response to Hayden's look and he helped bring Nolan over towards the couch, "Does this pull out at all, Hayden?" He asked, "I'd rather not have to move him again."

Hayden Hayden shook her head, just as confused about the note. “No idea,” she sighed. Once they were in the lab she nodded and pulled the bed from the couch. “Here. Umm, since I bought the place,” Hayden admitted. Not like she could be keeping secrets about the lab anymore at this point. She wrapped her arms around herself as she watched them set Nolan down, seeing him like that wasn’t easy. “He’s going to be ok, right?” she asked Hollis, clear desperation in her voice. “I can’t…I can’t lose him,” she added while shaking her head. The tears she had hid in the truck were coming back and she quickly swiped at her eyes to get them away.

Jaxon Jaxon was positively surprised to be granted access into something that definitely did not look like common knowledge. It was a lab. Clandestine. And by the looks of it, very well equipped..leading him to think that it was part of the hideout and where they kept some part of the weaponry to deal with his kind if the time came. For that reason, his wolf-ish eyes roamed it, his feet making him pace a bit until he stopped by some iron filled cabinets. Shit, that was a lot of iron. Pausing briefly, he looked over his shoulder. "I can go and wait out there if it makes things easier. I get this is a delicate moment between you two and I ain't helpin'." "But this shit? Someone definitely knew what they were doing getting to Nolan."

Hollis The moment they placed Nolan down, Hollis was placing his bag down and was pulling his jacket from his torso, "You're helping." Hollis stated simply as he tossed his jacket aside. Kneeling down, he pulled open his bag and pulled out the blood packs he procured along with the transfusion needle and an alcohol swab. Moving towards Nolan's good arm, it took him a moment to find a vein considering there was little to none blood flow but he managed. Once he had, he hooked up the blood bag and held it up, "Jax, hold this up and keep an eye on it. It's gonna go fast, okay? Once it starts running low, let me know."

Turning back towards Nolan, Hollis stepped back to the other side and glanced over to Hayden, "He'll be fine." He assured her. Luckily, she found him when she did. He wasn't sure what would have happened if she didn't. With ease, Hollis ripped open Nolan's shirt and sighed, inspecting the puncture wound there for a moment before turning his attention to the neck. That was a pressing issue, "Was this not just...an unfortunate vampire attack? Was it planned?" He asked, to really whomever, "Does Nolan have enemies?" That was hard to believe.

Hayden Hayden looked over at Jaxon when she heard the last thing he said, then watched as they started working on Nolan. Her mind was running a mile a minute wondering why this Fox guy chose Nolan. "He's an angel, he couldn't have enemies if he tried," she choked out with a sob. For the first time in her life she didn't give a fuck how vulnerable she looked right now. "This Fox guy... there's no way he chose Nolan specifically," she insisted. She tried to stay out of the way of what Hollis needed, but she wanted to help even if she didn't know what the hell to do. "What can I do to help?" she asked, feeling restless just standing there. "Seriously if you run out of blood just hook me up," she took the chance to remind him.

Jaxon Jaxon seemed to take Hollis' order with a bit of reluctance but he was quick into action, feeling a slight bit of discomfort about the truth he was apparently withholding from the both of them. The truth about what may be happening, if his dealings with the man were of any indication. He just couldn't risk it, plain and simple, so he held the bag for now.. "Vampires are pissed. It's not like this is such a shocker..right? No offense but he seems to me like the kind of guy who would just happen to be in the wrong place, at the wrong time." the Alpha muttered, beginning to squeeze the blood through as he looked at the wound on the human's neck. "I said this before but.. I don't think Fox wanted Nolan dead, or else he would be. So..got any theories as to why this happened?"

Hollis To be honest, Hollis didn't really have any business in this vampire situation. He didn't know anything about it. He was just there to fix Nolan and put Hayden's mind at ease. He flashed Jaxon a smile as he did what he, basically, told him to do. Reaching down towards his bag, Hollis grabbed everything he could possibly need to fix that gash in Nolan's neck. First thing was cleaning it. Pouring some peroxide onto some gauze, he wiped away the blood that was there and from the look of the wound, it should have very well been bleeding...if Nolan wasn't basically drained, "Jesus." Hollis sighed, "Whoever he is, they're a messy eater." He mumbled before he looked to Hayden, "Just relax." Hollis encouraged, "I know it's hard." The wolf went to work stitching up the large gash on Nolan's neck, "Fox? That's their name?"

Hayden Hayden scowled at the mention of vampires being angry. That was one thing about her, she might have learned not everyone who wasn’t human or angelic was an asshole, but vampires were a whole other story. She hated them all, using her kind as nothing but food. “Fuck the vampires, they can be mad all they want. I don’t know Fox so I don’t know what kind of fucked up game this is but I don’t care.” She was set on making this guy pay for what he did to Nolan, since she didn’t really care what happened to herself anyways. She still hugged herself and watched, hoping for some sign that Nolan was alright. “I can’t relax. You don’t get it, he can’t die. He…he was upset with me the last time I saw him and I have to fix it,” she insisted, her voice shaking a bit as she walked closer and crouched down next to Nolan, making sure to be out of the men’s way. She figured she should change the subject before tears started pouring down her face. “So what, you join Jaxon’s pack now or something?” she said, directed at Hollis but both could hear. She kept her eyes on Nolan’s face though, unable to look away.

Jaxon Jaxon caught a glimpse of the smile and returned it, partly so. They both had their hands full right now and he was...let's just say a little focused on being of as much help as possible to the man. Reaching for the clean gauzes, the elder wolf made sure to repeat Hollis' process and handing him a new one, his eyebrows furrowing as he saw what the other was pointing to. "..you don't say." he huffed, then turning his attention towards Hayden. "I recognized his scent but I could still be wrong, Hayden. It's best we wait on him to confirm." Nolan was no Mackie. That's whose Fox was after, but again...he did not say..pretty sure it would be found out soon enough. Reed took a breath, having to smirk a little bit at the question as it left the huntress' lips and looked between them before focusing on Hollis. Would he say? "..need a new bag, doc."

Hollis Hollis tilted his head a bit. Jaxon had seen this vampire before? That shouldn't be a surprise. The alpha knew all kinds of people. Hopefully it wasn't an acquaintance and just an unfortunate run in. Hollis took a moment to thread his needle before he moved a bit more, working on stitching up his neck. It was an ugly wound. There was going to be no good healing for that. Just time. But he was going to be left with a pretty bad scar, no doubt. Hearing Hayden's question, he glanced to Jaxon, catching his smirk. His eyes shifted towards the bag and he nodded, grabbing a new one. Reaching over, he grabbed the near empty one and quickly switched it out with a new one, passing it back to Jaxon, "No, none of that." Hollis said simply, "We are dating." Perhaps that would help with her getting her mind off Nolan's state, "It's a recent development." He added in, going back to Nolan, "Are you and Nolan--?"

Hayden “I hate waiting,” Hayden grumbled once Jax suggested it. She didn’t look away from Nolan’s face as they switched out the blood bag, but she did glance over to see the alpha smirk when she asked her question. It wasn’t until Hollis finally piped in that she realized why, her eyes narrowing at them both. That certainly wasn’t what she had been expecting to hear. She was about to ask how the hell king had that been going on but Hollis answered that question for her. “Huh,” she simply stated, although now she was confused. “Wait, so you’re dating but you won’t join his pack? I mean I am plenty happy if you keep your distance from him but clearly you’re not so…that’s weird right?” she thought aloud. She figured she could call Hollis out when they were alone and not while she needed a level headed Jaxon to help keep Nolan alive. Ugh this was so frustrating. Needing people was the worst. She blushed and quickly averted her eyes when Hollis asked about Nolan though. “Um…no. I mean, he asked, but I was just really surprised. I said no when I should have said yes and now we’re in this mess and I need him to wake up so I can tell him the truth,” she sighed.

Jaxon

Jaxon was not looking for approval on their relationship. In fact, he expected it to be quite the opposite, very much aware that she had to have not been a fan of his..but her reaction kind of bothered him, his smile fading only slightly before he spoke his own mind, "No. And while I would like that..eventually," he started, eyeing Hollis for a moment as he grabbed the new blood bag, "I ain't pressurin' him to, so there's somethin' for you to feel good over I guess." Hollis and him still had a lot to debate on that front...including his absent experience with his wolf form, which he had yet to see. Ignoring the part about Nolan, Jaxon knelt down further so he was more comfortable and fell pensive for a moment.

Hollis

To be quite honest, he and Jaxon hadn't even discussed the whole pack thing. He figured at some point it would be brought up... He didn't think it would be with Hayden there. Perhaps it was for the best. It cut the tension a bit, "One step at a time." He said simply, looking up Jaxon, smiling towards the man. making quick work of the stitching on Nolan's neck, he listened as Hayden spoke and his brow quirked, "That explains a lot." Hollis spoke quietly, "I'm sure when you speak to him everything will work itself out." Hollis was a hopeless romantic through and through. He wanted the best for those two if that's the route they were going.

Shifting down to Nolan's arm, Hollis cringed, noting how easily it moved. Bones weren't supposed to do that. He glanced up at Hayden, "I have to set his arm. Are you going to be okay?" Hollis knew it wasn't going to be pleasant. The only good thing was that Nolan wouldn't feel it. They all would hear it though.

Hayden Hayden didn’t know how she felt about all this, truth be told she didn’t know Jaxon all that well other than the fact that he was there when her father died, that had always been enough to sustain her hatred of him. Unfortunately he and Hollis seemed to be get along well from the looks she was catching between them, it was kind of getting in the way of her blunt hatred. It was hard to fully hate someone when they made your friend look like that. Although she did think she pointed out something they hadn’t really fleshed out yet with her pack questions, so she wasn’t sure she should keep going down that path. “Yeah, go ahead doc,” she nodded when he asked about Nolan’s arm. She knew the process, not like she hadn’t dislocated something before herself. She braced herself for the sound either way. “I hope you’re right, this is all pretty new to me…I have no idea what I’m doing but I guess I’ll let myself sound like an idiot just to tell him how I feel,” she sighed.

Jaxon "..sure." Jaxon took Hollis' answer with a nod and kept himself focused without minding the blood or the stitching. He had seen it before, hadn't he? It just sort of came with experience and he had had plenty of calls like that -as had the fellow wolf. "I'm guessin' he is not gonna need more of these?" he squeezed the bag, hinting towards it and quickly flowed the change of plan, opting to move slightly, flatten and press his hand around the scientist's shoulder --just in case the pain brought him back and he decided to do something regretful.

Hollis Hollis turned his gaze back towards the blood bag and he chuckled, "Quite contrary." He said and kicked at his bag, "Six more to go. Takes about ten bags for a full transfusion. But he'll be okay with eight. Just tired." Hollis procured what he could. Reaching down, the wolf grab another and tossed the blood bag over to Hayden, "Hook that up for me. I'll walk you through it if you have questions." Hollis knew Hayden wanted something to do. This would be helpful. Running his hand along Nolan's arm, he felt for the break and pressed his lips into a thin line. It was clean, from what he could tell, at least. He nodded in thanks for Jaxon holding down Nolan and in a swift motion, he popped Nolan's arm back into place with a disgusting pop, "Can some grab me a splint and some tape?"

Hayden

Hayden took the bag and hooked it up, she had seen this sort of thing done enough times thankfully. She winced at the sound of Nolan’s arm being put back in place, thankful he wasn’t awake to feel that. She quickly looked around, reached for some kind of science tool, she had no idea what it was but it was metal and about the right size so it worked. She handed it to Hollis and then reached back for some duct tape. “That work?”

Hollis He held the man's arm in place and watched as Hayden looked around for what he asked for. That was on him. "Please, never duct tape someones arm." He told her with a smile, nodding towards her bag, "Medical tape and the split is in my bag. I don't want to let this go or else I'd grab it." Hollis turned his gaze back to Nolan, surveying the rest of him, "He's getting some color back. I just want to bind up this wound on his chest and check out his head."

Jaxon "What about you, doc. Need anything yourself? Water?" Jaxon's voice echoed from the side, his eyes stern when met by those blue ones of Hollis'. It was typical for him to invest so much of himself on helping others..but they to Jax it was important to make things bearable and easier too. He then looked up to Hayden. "Have you told your people yet? What's the plan on that front?"

Hayden Hayden sighed and tossed what she gathered and grabbed what Hollis had brought with him. She really wasn’t in the right state of mind to be thinking much right now. She shook her head in response to Jax. “I’m not stopping to tell them anything until Nolan’s ok.” He needed all her focus now.

Hollis Watching Hayden, Hollis sighed softly and nodded his head in thanks. He held Nolan's arm gingerly as he taped the splint to his arm. He felt comfortable enough to gently place his arm down against his stomach. Hollis grabbed out the sling he had brought and worked on placing Nolan's arm into it and around his neck. Once satisfied, he shook his head and turned towards the human's chest, "No, I'm fine." He told the alpha, bandaging the puncture wound on his chest as well as his head after he took a look at Nolan's eyes.

Standing up from the bed, Hollis moved towards Hayden and pulled her in for a hug. He knew she wasn't a big hugger, if at all, but he thought she could use it. He patted her on the shoulder as he pulled away, "He'll be fine. Do you want us to stay until the transfusion is done?"

Jaxon "If you're sure." Jaxon said after delaying his response for a few seconds just in case there was a change of heart. Then, he proceeded to walk across the room for the little fridge full of blood bags and set the next one up. He did try to be as less of a nuisance as possible too..checking the few texts he had got so far since the whole ordeal started and moved back to position just as the two hugged. Guess she needed that, he thought. August 5, 2022

Hayden Hayden breathed a sigh of relief and stood, surprisingly grateful for the hug. “Thanks for everything, seriously. I owe you so much by now. If that’s all there is to do I think I can manage, I’ll just wait around and do that until he wakes up,” she figured, forcing a slight smile to assure Hollis she was alright. She glanced over to Jaxon, whether she liked to admit it or not, she couldn’t have helped Nolan without him. She gave him a half smile and a nod. “Thanks, I won’t forget this,” she added. Because it was true, something like this did put a lot of weight on how she felt about the alpha now. She wouldn’t be throwing him any parties, but she didn’t want to punch him in sight now either.

Jaxon The alpha glanced up, arching an eyebrow in mild surprise, and nodded. "You're good. Glad I could be of service." He partially lied. What? He was only glad he had been able to be there for Hollis and that the man had trusted him enough to think of calling him. Lifting the portable fridge onto a small table, he gave it a pat and cleared his throat before speaking. "Gonna leave these here -for easy access."

Hollis "Don't worry about it. Said it once, I'll say it again, it's what I'm here for." Hollis watched the interaction between the others and he sighed softly. Everything could have went much worse. He was happy it didn't. "Let me know if you need anything, okay?" He rubbed Hayden's back for a minute before he stepped away to gather his things again, "Keep an eye on that blood. He'll probably feel like hell when he wakes up. But that's normal. He'll need a few days of bed rest. I can swing by in a couple days to check him out, okay?" Reaching his hand out towards Jaxon, he smiled towards the man before he waved goodbye to Hayden with the other, "Get some rest."

Jaxon The Alpha moved towards Hollis and gently grabbed a hold of the other's hand, damn glad they had both had half a mind to wash them off. Jaxon was sure Hayden would be fine..as would Nolan, but maybe this was a right step in ensuring that he did not come in between whatever kind of friendship it was they had. "Stay clear of vamps for a while, will you?" he simply mused, "Looks like Nolan's gonna need you."
