Hi! My friend and I are getting into hockey and we’re kind of wondering what the vibe on Max Domi is?? I’m kind of seeing mixed messages about him so we were wondering why you like him so we can figure out what his deal is and if we should try to pay attention to him more on the leafs. Thanks!
hi anon!! just wanna say before i get going that i’m in love with this ask and you by extension for asking, and i’m sorry this took me so long!
now on to the propaganda (this is long i’m not sorry)
i’m obligated to preface this by saying i’m hugely biased as a Leafs fan who grew up in Southern Ontario. my dad has always been a pretty big Tie Domi fan, so liking Max just seemed like a natural continuation of that.
Tumblr media
baby Max with Mats Sundin, then-captain of the Leafs. he’s just a little guy,,
born March 2nd, 1995, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, one month before Tie was traded (back) to the Leafs, Max spent his childhood in Mississauga, Ontario, roughly half an hour west of Toronto. at the age of 12, following some health complications at a hockey tournament in Detroit, blood work revealed that Max had type 1 diabetes and celiac disease.
not the end of the world, clearly, but a pretty significant shock for a kid with aspirations of greatness. of course, he was able to manage it, with time, and when i finally read his book i’ll tell y’all more about it i promise.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
these pictures make me emotional,, a couple of Domis, a couple of decades apart,,, except Max looks about 200% cuntier
anyway
scored a hatty in his OHL debut (slay). won consecutive OHL championships with the London Knights in 2012 and 2013 (double slay). selected 12th overall by the Phoenix (now Arizona) Coyotes, and signed a three year ELC (!). won gold with Team Canada at the 2015 WJC, and was named the tournament’s best forward (huge W). traded to the Montréal Canadiens in 2018, to the Columbus Blue Jackets in 2020, to the Carolina Hurricanes (via the Florida Panthers) at the trade deadline of March 31st 2022, to the Chicago Blackhawks in July of 2022, to the Dallas Stars in March 2023, and finally signed as a free agent to our beloved Toronto Maple Leafs on July 2nd 2023. he’s been on seven different NHL teams since he was drafted.
sadly, as i’ve only been a hockey fan for one calendar year, i cannot provide much insight into his time with NHL teams other than the Leafs. i have ordered and am waiting for his book to come in so i can better rotate him in my mind, but i encourage anyone who knows more about his other teams’ lore to add to this post or send me what you know, so i can share it with the world. (pls i wanna know everything about him ever)
what i can say is that him and Mitch Marner were teammates on the London Knights for two seasons, (13-14 and 14-15), the second of which saw Max as captain and Mitch as an alternate captain. the season after, Mitch was named captain in Max’s stead. seeing them back together on the Leafs brings joy to my little London Knights heart.
now back to him as a Leaf.
the current Leafs points leaders, as of December 30th, are as follows:
William Nylander - 48P (17G 31A)
Auston Matthews - 44P (29G 15A)
Mitch Marner - 38P (14G 24A)
John Tavares - 31P (11G 20A)
Morgan Rielly - 27P (4G 23A)
Max Domi - 21P (3G 18A)
the first five of these are pretty much to be expected, but there’s my close good friend Max Domi right there too :) he’s doing his part, and even if he’s not the biggest scorer, assists are just as important and valuable :) if i have to kill y’all with positivity for this i will :) i love him dearly :)
also, he currently sits at 389 career points, and he’s nowhere near done, while Tie Domi earned 245 points in his entire career of 1020 games. nobody can say shit to me about him not living up to his dad’s legacy (Note: Tie also sits at third in NHL history for penalty minutes with 3515, but that’s a stat nobody will ever surpass. ever. the current PIM leader in the NHL is Corey Perry, and he only has 1392.)
and now i’m not about to sit here and pretend i know how to quantify the skills of an NHL player, let alone describe them in great detail. i do not. however, what i do know is that i love watching him play and make plays. in my eyes, he is a good player, and this is the Max Domi Propaganda Blog so if you want something less biased i can’t help you, sorry :’)
this love began in a preseason game against the Habs, on Oct 2nd. his first game as a Leaf in Toronto, he scores a tip-in against his former team, and he shrugs it off like NBD. for those of you who were following me at the time, you know i was not normal about it then and i am not normal about it now. i think about that celly every goddamn day.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
much to my great sorrow, they Leafed this game up and lost in OT 5-4. but either way, this was the moment that definitively kicked off the Rick eastoncowan Domishka era.
and the only time Max ever seems to get a scoring chance, it’s either on a breakaway or from a spot that would have been absolutely NASTY if it went in. my mans only wants sexy goals, which is a stance i respect immensely.
his first regular season goal… didn’t give him any points. it was beautiful, and a game winner, but since it happened in a shootout, it didn’t count towards his points totals. personally, i think this is bullshit, but now is neither the time nor the place for me to get into my issues with some of the NHL’s rules. (Nov 10, 2023, Flames @ Leafs)
Tumblr media
Domishka bardownski SO winner,,, you were so beautiful and so unappreciated but i will never forget you </3
now.
Max’s first real goal as a Leaf.
for those of you who followed me at the time, you may recall this post:
Tumblr media
a post that the Hockey Gods took to heart
Tumblr media Tumblr media
and obviously i followed through. what do you think i am, some kind of quitter?
Tumblr media
and, again, unfortunately, we Leafed that one up, too. we lost it in OT again, so still no Domi belt pic for Rick :(
now i’m not going to go back and gif all 18 of his assists, because i don’t think y’all care quite that much about Visual Proof of all of them. for your convenience, though, i did go back and track down whose goals he had assisted on, and the results aren’t super surprising IMO
Calle Järnkrok, Nick Robertson (assisted on 5 each)
Matthew Knies (assisted on 4)
William Nylander, Morgan Rielly, Mitch Marner, Timothy Liljegren (assisted on 1 each)
anyway, now for what is quite possibly my favourite game that i didn’t actually get to watch live.
December 16, 2023, Penguins @ Leafs, a decisive 7-0 victory.
it was also a 3 point night for Max, two of which helped to complete Matthew Knies’ Gordie Howe hat trick, the first since Daniel Winnik in 2015. but a goal and an assist are only two parts of it, the third being a fight. a fight which Knies initiated against John Ludvig after he knocked out yet another of Max’s front teeth with his stick. a fight which was Knies’ first ever. i’m still mad i didn’t see this happen live, but i’ve rewatched the game in its entirety twice, and the highlights too many times to count. this game sparked my undying love for the 23-11-16 line, which is a line i still pray keefe will bring back.
and so, we have a goal and a fight, and we have an assist to finish off the hat trick, and none of it would have happened without Max :)
and speaking of fights, Max has had a couple of em himself in his time as a Leaf so far. granted, if you ask hockeyfights dot com, he didn’t win either of them, but that’s not what matters. what matters is that he looked beautiful doing it, whether it was against Ian Cole (VAN) or Sam Bennett (FLA), especially with the fun added bonus of him flexing his full head of hair at Bennett’s bald dome. as an aside, i fucking hate Sam Bennett, so Max trying to fight him was… well it made me feel things. all i’m gonna say.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
max’s third goal was also gorgeous. stunning. amazing. another beautiful bardown, the sound of which lives on in my dreams.
Tumblr media
this is getting far longer than it really needs to be, so i’ll take a step back and give you my true, honest thoughts.
Max Domi has been a very helpful player for the Leafs since he got here. he obviously has the drive to play here and to play well here, and 21 points is nothing to be ashamed of. you know who else has 21 points as of me writing this? Alex Ovechkin. and now i’m not saying they are players of the same caliber, but Max is 6th on the Leafs in points, and Ovi is tied for first on the Caps. 21 points is still 21 points, no matter where in the standings someone is. Max was born to be a Leaf, and nothing makes me happier than to see him here and thriving on the team he’s loved since he was a kid. he takes shots, blocks shots, defends his boys and is defended right back in turn.
and i would not be Rick eastoncowan if i didn’t mention that i think he is hot. like stupid hot. especially without his teeth. fuck, the heart wants what the heart wants, and damn if my heart doesn’t want this tiny toothless idiot.

Loving You Is Red - A Jeon Jungkook Fic, teaser 3
Tumblr media
Link to fic: here
Synopsis:
Jeon Jungkook's name was unheard on the Formula 1 paddock till he got a chance to drive a Mercedes car as a reserve driver. His 2020 starts looking brighter as he signs with Ferrari and meets you, his teammates little sister. So many cliched tropes, strangers to friends to lovers, slow burn, dating brother's best friend, and most importantly Jeon Jungkook looks smoking hot in a Ferrari!
Author's Note:
So, this has been collecting dust in my drafts since I watched Drive to Survive last year, watched the new season, and got motivated to write this fic.
The fic is going to be released on 17th March 2023, mark your calendars!!

Race 8 Austrian Grand Prix 2020
“Why?” Jungkook asks as he’s walking to the Ferrari office. It’s a meeting and photoshoot heavy day for him.
“Because I have a job now, even if it’s sorting my father’s emails and arranging his meetings, I can’t be there every weekend” you explain calmly as you swivel around in your office chair.
“What’s your day like today?” he asks as a fan stops him for a picture, he’s becoming better at being popular as every race happens.
“We have a few apartment showings, so I’ll be shadowing him, start to figure out if I want to do this or not” you say sipping on your coffee, you’d been arriving early at the office to have some moments of peace before the chaos starts.
“What is your day like?” you ask him and he just grunts, knowing how bad it is to sit through meetings.
“I have a strategy meeting, another meeting with the communications team, lunch with a bunch of promoters and in the evening we’re shooting a bunch of videos for ferrari’s youtube channel” Jungkook reiterates his schedule for the day, and he’s already starting to feel tired.
“Press has just been awful since the last race, no wonder we’re having comms meeting two days in a row” Jungkook had been trying to stay away from the negative headlines but everyone was absolutely shitting on Phillip this week.
“They like pitting you and Phillip against each other, last week was all the ammunition they needed” you had been screening all the click baity articles, they were absolutely making Phillip lose his mind.
“Do you think he hit me on purpose or was I really in his blind spot?” Jungkook asks opening the door to the conference room, most people are already here. Phillip is already slouched against a chair, looking defeated already.
“No comment” “Boo Freaking Hoo!!” he says and you can’t help but smile like a stupid idiot.
“Call me later if you can” you say and Jungkook hums a goodbye as he takes a seat opposite Phillip.
“So, lots of bad press, people are divided” Claudia says, placing down multiple article print outs and newspapers on the table.
“And thank you Phillip for snapping at the sky sports reporter, just handing them their headlines” this hasn’t been Phillip’s week, and he’s done with cameras and reporters.
“We need to take hold of the narrative or at least change it because the sponsors aren’t happy with the two drivers seemingly fighting each other. How about you go golfing or something this tuesday” Claudia suggests and Phillip immediately nods his head no.
“He can’t golf to save his life and I have my sister’s birthday party that day-”
“So, just invite Jungkook, because I really need the news narrative to change” Claudia says with an authoritative tone, the two of them can’t even think about going against her.
“I don’t want to intrude on a family thing-” Jungkook sounds a little offended by the whole situation, mostly he’s a little ticked off about you not telling him about your coming birthday.
“It’s not, it’s a surprise party with a few friends, I was going to invite you anyway” Phillip says and Claudia smiles widely.
“This is sorted then, I need at least a story with the birthday girl on the two of your instagram’s” The two of them are left alone as Claudia leaves, there’s still this animosity in the air.
“Just so we’re clear, I didn’t hit your car on purpose,” Phillip says, looking Jungkook square in his eyes.
“I know that,” Jungkook replies, a little too confidently.
“How can you be so sure?” Phillip asks as he sits up straight.
“You’re competitive, not petty” Jungkook leaves with a big smirk on his face, he’s been enjoying the season so far a little too much.

Czech Calendar Customs Master Post
I’m an American who has always been fascinated with family history.  The most recent arrivals in my family from the old world were my Great-Grandparents who emigrated from Běhařovice, a small village in Southern Moravia,  Perhaps it is because they are my most recent connection to Europe that I’m pulled so strongly toward their traditions.  In this post I’ll provide links to my posts documenting my attempts to integrate Czech calendar customs into my practice, as well as other resources.  In 2023 I plan on doing more detailed articles and will add them to this article.  I am in no way an expert on the customs of Czechia, just a descendant attempting to connect with my ancestors.

august 28, 2022; 7:10 pm - long weekend
long post ahead! i feel like i havent really had the time again to just sit down and update my tumblr (and even myself tbh) with everything thats going on with my life so fair warning this post is going to be super long but feel free to read along
work:
i hate how work is all i ever think about nowadays kasi wala naman akong jowa, all my friends are busy too, tapos na yung board exam pumasa na ko and everything so talagang when i have problems at work, its all my brain can think about and its really exhausting
ill try to go in depth again about work in another post next time pero all i can say is its both really fun to be challenged but also its just really tiring too kasi it isnt the most ideal way of being challenged (if that makes any sense)
im just really thankful for my work friends kasi they constantly remind me na oo nga pala im not alone and they understand me more than anyone could kasi theyre living through these challenges too
family:
my tita and tito are leaving this week and its really bittersweet! i love having them here kasi nga its a great break from the mundane but its also very tiring to constantly have to be a host every single day so all in all im just really glad they got to visit and that they had fun here during their stay!
sana most of my cousins could come to our house tomorrow for my little celebration kasi i really do miss them plus ang daming pagkain na balak lutuin/bilhin ng nanay ko and i dont want that to go to waste
i miss my kuya so much and i wish march would come sooner para nandito na siya for a few months of vacation
i love my family and our dogs so much and im forever thankful for all the blessings we receive everyday and that we're always safe
personal:
where the fuck did this rain come from? it was partially sunny from yesterday to this morning and now its pouring again - i love the rain, not so much the lightning, but i really hope it doesnt rain tomorrow
im so excited for tomorrow kasi my brain is already making a mental to do list of the things i want to accomplish tomorrow before guests start arriving
im so emotional and extra bloated kasi magkakaroon na ulit ako ng period and most of the time naaamaze parin ako sa flor app kasi sobrang accurate niya when it comes to telling you how long before you get your period again (that is, if you make sure to always update the calendar once you do get your period)
i dont exactly know what to wear yet tomorrow - and yes inisiip ko parin yun kahit na sa bahay lang naman kami magcecelebrate
i got the tiny spray bottle that came with my keyboard cleaner to work! akala ko sira talaga siya ever since i got it pero i think i just havent been pushing it correctly all this time lang
i kinda want a cute mousepad too kasi ang panget ng mousepad na gamit ko whenever i use my laptop
music:
talk that talk is SOOOOOOOOOOOOO much better than pink venom when it comes to comeback singles
im so so so happy about twice sounding more like they did around mid 2019-2020 kasi thats my favorite era from them and im just really happy na talk that talk fits that sound ive always been looking for from them
super love the y2k mv, the choreo is AMAZING, the song is really cute, and i really love how maganda yung distribution of lines nila in the song
theres this particular song i recently fell in love with and instead of gatekeeping it (even though im sure some of you might already know it) im going to share it with all of you kasi its one of the loveliest songs ive discovered in a really long time - golden hour by jvke; reminds me so much of call me by your name and feeling like youre in italy and falling in love and being outside, basking in the sunlight with your lover - i really hope someone, someday, remembers me when they hear this song
and thats it for another update post! again if youve made it this far, thank you again for reading my updates; i hope you all are doing okay and are staying safe and dry!
happy long weekend, tumblr! sulitin na natin to!

Dracula Daily Responses
 June 17
It has been… weeks since I last heard from my dear friend Jonathan. My heart was pounding from my chest with excitement, my hands trembling as I gripped the envelope and tore it open. He is alive! But trapped, still, within his chambers. Still he looks to those in service of the Count for aid, and unsurprisingly finds none.
June 18
The radio bursts alive with a short blast of static, and again I hear the voice of Dr. Seward. He speaks quickly, and I can only assume it must be of his patient Renfield once more. It seems to be the only subject which captures the doctor’s attention, since Miss Lucy’s refusal of his proposal. The man is apparently keeping spiders as pets now. What a peculiar man. Though I do find such creatures helpful in keeping the house free of other pests, I would hardly make the effort to attract them myself as they come and go as they please. My cats find them entertaining.

Dracula Daily Responses
(Previous days https://asylos.tumblr.com/post/684810916316037120/may-1819-below-the-cut-oh-my-poor-friend-it-was)
May 24th:
Another letter mislaid upon my door, from Miss Lucy to my dear Mina. I shouldn’t read it, but I cannot help myself. I hope for some news of my dear friend Jonathan buried within, but I am doubtful. Perhaps the gossip within will lighten my spirit for a moment or two.
Miss Lucy has had quite an eventful time since her last letter! Three proposals! A dream for many girls her age. The doctor who she had thought might be a good match for Mina, had our dear Jonathan not been already in her heart, was first to propose. Ah, but Lucy was already firmly set on another. Ah yes, Mr. Holmwood, who she spoke of before. I do recall this now. Surely he must be one of the three proposals this day?
Ah it seems Mr. Holmwood was trying to find time to make his proposal but just couldn’t seem to get Miss Lucy to himself before the other two, even with her aid. Mr. Morris therefore was the second of the day. And this man too, realizing Miss Lucy’s heart belonged to another, pledged to be a great friend to her. What a blessing to her to have found such good and honest men in her life. Oh Miss Lucy, I do agree, they should let a girl marry as many men as would agree to marry her together and be happy.
Ah, and then Miss Lucy, you rob us of the details of Mr. Holmwood’s proposal! But such happiness is a blessing.
I shall reseal this quickly and send it on its way to dear Mina so she can share in her closest friend’s joyous news. Hopefully it will distract her too for a moment from our worries.

I went into the office today to clean out my desk (the office is moving, I’m still remote) and my area had been gutted by IT. My phone doesn’t even have a receiver. But my @risingoflights calendar was still there, left on March 2020.

My #1 post of 2022
I have received several days' entries of my dear friend Jonathan’s journal, in his most familiar shorthand. He has arrived in foreign lands, and has written in lush detail of his travels so far, both of the land itself and the peoples therein. I have found his descriptions of the food there most tantalizing, and amusing that he had so much trouble with it and yet, he makes note to remember to fetch the recipes to bring home to his beloved Mina still. (Ah Mina, I should write to her soon. It has been far too long!) The castle that was his destination is most interesting, and I cannot wait to hear more about his stay, and the peculiar master of it. I shan't write back to him at this time, as he will surely be on his way back before any such letter would reach him.

FAQ
What is this blog?
This blog posts a new song prompt each week. You can then reblog the prompt with a link to a song that fits it (or do whatever else you want with it; I'm a pinned post, not a cop)
Who runs this blog?
@nullpointerintime, via an automated bot I've written.
What's the origin of this blog?
Back in March 2018, a friend of mine ran a daily song prompt challenge in the Slack for the course we were both teaching at the time. I then ran a similar challenge in March 2020 in a Facebook group for former TAs of that course and in March 2023 in an unrelated Discord server. These challenges were fun to complete, but the daily pace made them hard to keep up with and time-consuming to run. For 2024, we've decided to repeat the challenge in the Discord server on a weekly pace spread out through the whole year. I already had a Discord bot to post the prompts and I already posted my own responses to each prompt last year on my Tumblr, so I decided to hook up the bot to Tumblr as well to allow others to participate.
Where do the prompts come from? Will they ever repeat?
I believe the original prompts for 2018 came from an Instagram infographic whose source I no longer have. I came up with the sets of prompts for 2020 and 2023 through a mix of repeats and variations on previous prompts, new ideas of my own, and suggestions from others. Here are 2023's prompts.
Going forward, I'll add prompts in a similar way, though instead of me pre-selecting all of the prompts for a given period, the bot will randomly select each prompt from a bank (with a few exceptions where I might manually select a time-sensitive prompt to be used for a particular week). Prompts will not repeat within the same calendar year, but may return in future years.
If you have any prompt suggestions, feel free to send them in an ask and I'll consider adding them to the bank.
Will peoples responses for each prompt be collected into a playlist of some sort?
While I did this manually for past challenges I've run and I might continue to do so for Discord, doing so for responses to a public post won't really be feasible manually. I may eventually try to add an automated solution, though getting this to work across different streaming services is difficult. I personally use YouTube Music, so if I do decide to implement something like this in the future, responses that link to the song on YTM (the label-provided music track; not a video) would be the ones it would work best with (though I'd probably also support Spotify if I do end up implementing it)
This FAQ is a work in progress. I'll continue to update it as things change / people ask questions.

Austrian GP agrees second F1 contract extension in fourth months | 2023 Austrian Grand Prix
Formula 1 has agreed another new deal to continue racing at the Red Bull Ring just four months after the last was announced. The series announced a contract extension with the Austrian venue in March, keeping it on the calendar until 2027. The new deal adds a further three years, meaning F1 will race at the track until at least 2030. The event at the Red Bull Ring returned to the schedule in 2014. As well as holding a race every year since then it put on extra grands prix during the pandemic-affected 2020 and 2021 seasons. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali said the team behind the Austrian event is “exceptional”, and paid tribute to Red Bull founder Dietrich Mateschitz, who passed away last year. “The vision and passion of Dietrich Mateschitz, a man who loved this sport, made this all possible and it is a very special moment and a tribute to him that we can confirm we will be racing at this incredible venue until 2030. “The race in Austria is a big favourite for the drivers and all our fans and we are looking forward to many years of excitement and action that are ahead of us.” The venue first held the Austrian Grand Prix in 1970, when it was known at the Osterreichring. The original track, one of the fastest ever used by F1, remained part of the schedule until 1987. The series returned 10 years later by which time the track had been drastically shortened into its current guise and renamed the A1-Ring. F1 left the track after 2003, but returned in 2014 after its renovation and renaming by Red Bull. Its new three-year deal means the race will be part of the calendar for at least 16 consecutive seasons, one less than its original run. Solana NFT Marketplace Development|Connect With Us To Build One Today
Tumblr media
The Solana NFT marketplace has gained tremendous traction since the launch of its blockchain network in March 2020. It has set a benchmark in the NFT industry by offering lightning-fast transaction speed, optimal fees, and hassle-free transaction processing.
Interestingly, in April 2023, Solana had a whopping trading volume of $90 million! Can you believe it? It’s impressive, considering that Solana was just an idea pitched by Yakovenko back in 2017.
Now creators and businesses from different industries like music, entertainment, and consumer products are getting into the NFT craze. Some find it convenient and affordable to work with existing platforms that handle NFT sales and already have a  base. But many prefer freedom and control with their own NFT marketplace. It gives them more flexibility to do things their way and create their own unique NFT experience.
Considering this, there are ample blockchain networks on which you can build your NFT marketplace. But Solana stands out amongst them.
Konstantin Anissimov, the chief operating officer at crypto exchange CEX.IO, explains that Solana takes a unique approach to tackle the limitations of earlier blockchain solutions. It combines proven cryptographic strategies with dynamic innovations, offering a powerful solution to overcome the challenges faced by the first generation of cryptocurrencies.
In simple terms, the Solana blockchain brings together the best of both worlds to provide a more advanced and efficient blockchain platform. As an NFT marketplace development company, today we will discuss the nitty gritty of Solana NFT marketplace. We will cover the following aspects:

Why Build An NFT Marketplace On Solana?
Building an NFT marketplace on Solana is a smart decision for several reasons. Solana has established itself as a fourth-generation blockchain platform, offering exceptional scalability and remarkable transaction speeds. Solana NFT marketplace stands out from other blockchain platforms due to its unique combination of Proof-of-History (PoH) and Proof-of-Stake (PoS) mechanisms. This combination ensures efficient rewards for miners or validators, making it more environmentally friendly than traditional Proof-of-Work (PoW) systems. Solana contributes to its unparalleled performance and scalability with its core features, such as Proof-of-History, Tower BFT, Turbine, Gulf Stream, Sealevel, Pipeline, Cloudbreak, and Archivers. Additionally, the native cryptocurrency of Solana, SOL, has various uses within the Solana ecosystem, including paying for transactions and earning staking rewards. While Ethereum remains popular, Solana’s superior throughput, lower transaction fees, and energy efficiency make it a compelling option for investors and developers. With its strong foundation and rapid growth in the Web3 market, Solana has the potential to revolutionise the world of NFTs and overcome traditional blockchain limitations. Connect with our blockchain experts to curate a plan & build a robust Solana blockchain NFT marketplace today!

End of Q1 Impacts March Trading
Tumblr media
Julius Caesar failed to heed the famous warning to “beware the Ides of March” but investors have been served well when they have. Stock prices have had a propensity to decline, sometimes rather precipitously, during the latter days of the month.
Over the recent 21-year period, March has tended to open well with gains accumulating over its first three trading days. A brief bout of weakness follows before all indexes begin moving modestly higher into mid-month through month’s end.
March packs a rather busy docket. It is the end of the first quarter, which brings with it Triple Witching and an abundance of portfolio maneuvers from The Street. March Triple-Witching Weeks have been quite bullish in recent years. But the week after is the exact opposite,
In March 2020, DJIA plunged nearly 4012 points (-17.3%) during the week ending on the 20th. Solid late-March gains in 2009 and again in 2020 have improved average second half of March performance, but most bullish days are still in the first half of the month

ERC Tax Credit Restaurants
New Employee Retention Tax Credit Info For Restaurants
This applies to the ERC. It means that the tax deduction for qualified wages equaling the ERC is not applicable. Payroll tax deductions are reduced by the FICA credit. The March 2020 ERTC legislation allowed employers to make up to $5,000 per employee and up up to $7,000 per employee eligible for the 2020 program. employee for each calendar quarter in 2021.
vimeo
The National Law Review is an online database that contains legal and business articles. It is free to use and requires no login.
Originally, an employer would first determine if an employee was eligible. Then, they would subtract the ERC from their payroll tax deposit and estimate the ERC for that period.
The ERC is designed to aid restaurants that experienced either a significant decline in gross receipts or a full or partial suspension of operations due to a governmental order.
For 2021, the ERC allowed for a higher percentage of qualified wage earners.
Protect your 4th quarter federal income taxes payments deferred from any penalties or interest
Bars, nightclubs and any other drinking establishments are eligible. The program recognizes that businesses may be in financial distress and offers a fast-track option to those who wish to claim the credit prior the end of the tax year. Qualified businesses can still claim the credit in their 2021 New York state taxes returns.
Are You Eligible To Receive The Credit?
The Employee Retention Credit ("ERC") was launched in March 2020 to encourage businesses to keep employees on their payroll. It is one of the most significant tax credits that hotels and restaurants can get today for financial hardships caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. Restaurant industry employs a large percentage of part-time employees so it is important employee retention credit 941x example to confirm FTEs are used rather than FTEEs when determining large employers status. Part-time employees will be excluded from the computation for large employers. This will result in fewer restaurants with 500 FTEs or less and more restaurants that can claim the ERC on all wages paid to employees in 2021. Eligibility for employee retention credit for restaurants can be earned in two ways.

This could mean that total payroll costs can drop as high as $5000 per year. Restaurant and hotel managers should look into their eligibility for ERC. Due to the substantial number of government orders limiting the normal activities in 2020 and 2021, many organizations are receiving substantial cash benefits, in addition to PPP benefits already received. Cherry Bekaert has a brochure on Employee Retention Credit that provides more information. If a restaurant/food-service business receives an invitation to apply for the tax credit, certain documentation must be submitted with an application to be considered complete.
Restaurants Will Pay Erc
If they are greater than $20 per month, tips are included in qualified wages and are subject to FICA. Although the government has created many relief programmes for small businesses that employee retention credit are very helpful, it is not enough to keep the best business people in their heads. The ERC has seen an increase in qualified wages for 2021. You must also review aggregation rules since all entities that are treated as a single employer under the Internal Revenue Code are considered one employer for purposes of the ERC.

2002 uk basketball roster

2002 uk basketball roster free#
Instead of being the dude for a bad team, he'll be fighting for a role on a great team in a much tougher conference. Bench Antonio ReevesĪfter averaging 20.1 points for Illinois State as a junior last season, Reeves faces a big transition in his fourth season of college basketball. Tshiebwe's physicality, tenacity and touch around the rim is a problem for opponents. Now, he's hungry for more team success after racking up a ridiculous amount of individual hardware. Tshiebwe swept the national player of the year awards circuit after averaging 17.4 points, 15.2 rebounds and 1.6 blocks per game while shooting 60.6% from the floor in his first season with the program after transferring in from West Virginia. He's a versatile defender and elite finisher at the rim, but he'll be fighting for minutes with a handful of teammates. Toppin gets penciled in for now after averaging 17.7 minutes per game while mostly coming off the bench. With Keion Brooks transferring out to Washington, Calipari has options here. Early returns on that quest appear positive. For floor-spacing purposes, it would also be huge for UK if Livingston can keep opposing defenses honest from the perimeter. He'll bring athleticism and versatility to the wing for UK and could play his way into the lottery pick conversation if he can demonstrate a consistent 3-point shot. 15 overall prospect in the 2022 class, per 247Sports. 7 in Kyle Boone's 2023 NBA mock draft last week. Calipari likened Wallace to Eric Bledsoe and Shai Gilgeous-Alexander when he signed. He should be able to slide naturally into the role that TyTy Washington played last season for the Wildcats as a combo guard who plays tenacious defense. Wallace finished the 2022 recruiting cycle ranked No. But he's an excellent, old-school point guard who can facilitate an offense, run the break and provide critical veteran leadership. At 5-foot-10 and as just a career 27.5% 3-point shooter, Wheeler has his limitations. Wheeler led the SEC in assists with 6.9 per game last season in his first year with Kentucky after two seasons as Georgia's point guard.
2002 uk basketball roster free#
Now that college basketball's version of free agency has died down, it's time to look at Kentucky's roster and assess how it shapes up as we start flipping the page to a new season. But with productive veterans in key positions and a pair of five-star freshmen arriving on campus, there is enough talent at Kentucky for the Wildcats to regain the championship trajectory it has enjoyed for much of Calipari's tenure. Around them will be a mixture of fresh faces and returning role players as the Wildcats set out on the redemption trail.īy the time the 2023 rendition of March Madness rolls around, it will have been nearly four calendar years since UK's last NCAA Tournament victory. With the pain of that loss as a backdrop, Kentucky is returning two anchors from last season's lineup in point guard Sahvir Wheeler and center Oscar Tshiebwe for the 2022-23 season. With a roster formula that skewed far older than normal, coach John Calipari fielded a team that spent much of the season ranked in the top 10 before its campaign came to a stunning end against the Peacocks. 15 seed Saint Peter's in the first round of the NCAA Tournament cast a pall over an otherwise solid season for the Wildcats, who bounced back from an abysmal 2020-21 campaign to reclaim their place among the SEC and national elite. The ending of Kentucky's 2021-22 season at the hands of No.

Wacken Open Air 2022
Hey lads and lasses, here is my 10th review and first and only blog of 2022, Wacken Open Air! It’s been almost a month removed since I was there and 3 years since I was last there. Was supposed to go 2 years ago, but of course with the pandemic going on, it was cancelled thus bumming my friends and I out and Summer 2020 was without a doubt the most boring summer I had in a long time. Summer 2021 was an improvement as I was able to compensate for my lack of shows with going to the cinema but still no Wacken and no Euro trip, but I at least expected that Wacken would be pushed back to 2022. I will never forget receiving the good news in the Wacken Crüe group chat back from Connel in February that Germany were going to be lifting their restrictions in March, which paved the way for not just Wacken to take place, but the festivals before Wacken. Ironically, I recieved the news when I was sick and off work for a week so I could recover.
Fast forward to late July of this year and I’m already seeing three members of the Crüe in the names of Bibi, Sandy, and Julian, who I went to Wacken with, and two more who couldn’t go this year in the names of Jess and Ingo respectively, although those two weren’t there in body at this years Wacken, they were there in spirit. I will also add this was the year I was able to finally go to Esther’s place as I wasn’t able to go 3 years ago due to scheduling conflicts with my travel, and I enjoyed my time at Esther’s place, alongside hanging out with Bibi, Julian, Sandy, Rabih, Elke, and Ian, and as well meeting the two Aussies Sarah and Jason, and the two Dutchmen Bas and Boudewijn, in which the latter’s name took me the longest time to remember and pronounce correctly as I alongside the others would call him “Boot Strap”.
Moving forward to the beginning of August was also the time that after 7 Wackens, I finally went there in the early morning hours of Monday as the first 3 I went on Tuesdays as there were no shuttle buses on Mondays, but of course that changed in 2017 when I could enter Wacken free of charge. So we all get in the parking lot and I then reunite with Nico, Andreas, Aurora, Max Rohrbeck (Sandy’s bf), and then meet Aurora’s friend Håvard, which also took me a few days to pronounce correctly but eventually got it down, and he and I chatted for a good half an hour and a notable moment in our conversation was when I had told him that the cancellation of Wacken 2020 made me lose my smile he then said “After the festival is done, your smile may return?” I then said “Most likely”. So after we all got the go ahead to go to the Rendsburger Camp, even though Rabih who was driving Esther and I was having issues at times because of the car being on manual since most petrol cars in Europe are on manual as opposed to automatic like in North America, we arrived at Rendsburger and set up camp and I had thought there was going to be more rain, but uh uh there wasn’t as I changed out of my urban camo pants and into my shorts so my legs wouldn’t cook into oblivion, then Rabih, Aurora and I went and got our wristbands to avoid a stupidly lenghty queue, and Rabih also won I believe top prize in the Wacken spin wheel thing, Aurora and I got some lunch at the fish stand, in which the fish was tasty, my face got tanned and later started to hurt from the burns, in which Aurora was worried at the sight of me burning from the sun. To highlight one hilarious moment before Wacken, Hanno gave Bas and Boudewijn a calendar with men showing off their dicks and we were all cracking up, so Bas and Boudewijn put that calendar on the outside of their camper trailer and would flip the calendar over for each passing day. I will skip Tuesday and Wednesday as I spent those days just hanging out at the camp drinking and eating whatever delicious food there was and of course reuniiting with other fellow Crüe members plus meeting 3 others I hadn’t met before. I will highlight other notable moments before the Thursday festivities in the forms of Bas making awesome Pizza, me passing out and getting the “Can You Continue?” sign placed on me not once but twice, drunk German doofus falling on Aurora’s tent and then Ralf and I having to restrain him that culminated with Bas booting him out of our camp, smoking a cigar (thank you Luis) just like 3 years ago, lots of partying going on at Rendsburger van but I didn’t go since I needed my voice to keep up with King DIamond and Rob Halford’s falsettos on Thursday night, Ian going into another person’s tent even after waking up from being passed out, bringing my friends Kirill and Hahmood for some late night chatting that became comedy with Hahmood’s hilariously’ drunken rants where he’d say “fuck” and “cunt” every second to third word in which Sandy and I were laughing our asses off, just to list a few off the top of my head.
Let’s begin the band festivities!
Thursday August 4th, Day 4: After waking up, Esther persuaded me to check out a band with her called  Torfrock, who is a band I hadn’t heard of before but Esther had told me they’re known for their humorous lyrics, for those who are fluent in German, and from what I’ve also read online they have a lot of songs with the Low German language variant. From what I saw they were pretty entertaining and Esther had told me that I’ve seen a band from Germany who doesn’t come to North America, and in my mind I thought “I’ve earned myself some bragging rights”. After the end of their set it was beer and food break.
A few hours later, I’m on the infield and the 2nd band I catch at Wacken Open Air is: Excalibur, Sword of the Kings, Take me on your wings, Back where I belong, who? Heavy Metal Breakdown, what? The clans are marching ‘gainst the law, Bagpipers play their tunes of war, Death or glory I will find, Rebellion on my mind, one more time? GRAVE DIGGER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 3rd time seeing these guys as I last saw them at Wacken Open Air 2017, when at that time the weather was absolute shit from the rain and the mud was like quicksand. Half a decade later, the weather is nicer, even though it was overcast, the ground was solid and there was no rain. It did rain a wee bit but not enough to turn the ground into mud, but more than enough to wash out the dust. I will also say another big difference was seeing a Scottish band in the background especially with a pair of bagpipers and as well during Rebellion it was cool to hear both the Grave Digger Mascot play the bagpipe solo and see him kick his feet up in the air, and a couple of the bagpipers taking part in the bagpipe solo as well. Here is what their set looked like:
The Brave(played live by Baul Muluy Pipes & Drums and friends)Play Video
The Dark of the SunPlay Video
ExcaliburPlay Video
The Clans Will Rise AgainPlay Video
The Clansman’s Journey(played live by Baul Muluy Pipes & Drums and friends)Play Video

The Heart of Scotland(played live by Baul Muluy Pipes & Drums and friends)Play Video
Knights of the CrossPlay Video
Highland FarewellPlay Video
Green Hills of Tyrol + When the Battle is Over(played live by Baul Muluy Pipes & Drums and friends)Play Video
Rebellion (The Clans Are Marching)Play Video
Heavy Metal Breakdown
Note: additional vocals by Andreas von Lipinski (lead singer of WarWolf) during the hole set
After Grave Digger, the 3rd band up was: Up to the LImit, who? London Leatherboys, what? You get your Balls to the Wall, Man, one more time? DIRKSCHNEIDER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 3rd time catching him live as I first saw him at Wacken 2015 where he had an orchestra and a 2nd time 4 years ago where a good chunk of his set was Accept songs. This time he played all Accept songs and as well like 4 years ago, the weather was great, though not as boiling hot compared to 2018. At 70 years old, Udo Dirkschneider still has the pipes and after hearing him play Accept songs, I 100% refuse to see Accept live with Mark Tornillo as Mark can’t hold a candle to Udo. Here’s what his set looked like:
Starlight(Accept song)Play Video
Living for Tonite(Accept song)Play Video
Midnight Mover(Accept song)Play Video
Breaker(Accept song)Play Video
London Leatherboys(Accept song)Play Video
Princess of the Dawn(Accept song)Play Video
Restless and Wild / Son of a Bitch(Accept song)Play Video
Screaming for a Love-Bite(Accept song)Play Video
Up to the Limit(Accept song)Play Video
Metal Heart(Accept song)Play Video
Fast as a Shark(Accept song)Play Video
Balls to the Wall(Accept song)
After Dirkschneider it was time for the 4th band: We are, we’re the Guardians, Guardians of Asgaard, who? Twilight of the Thunder God, what? Odin, Guide our ships, Our axes spears and swords, Guide us through storms that whip, And in brutal war, one more time? AMON AMARTH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 9th time seeing Amon Amarth live and 3rd time at Wacken Open Air, except they played under the pseudonymn Guardians of Asgaard. I remember talking with Ralf earlier in the day and he told me about Amon Amarth playing a “secret” show. I didn’t believe him at first until it was confirmed on Wacken Open Air’s FB page and I’m like “Oh man, shit just got real”. They were a great very last minute addition to Wacken and it was more cool to see them perform between the two main stages atop of the castle. Even though their set was short it was still awesome to see. Here’s what their set looked like:
Guardians of AsgaardPlay Video
Shield WallPlay Video
The Great Heathen Army(Live debut)Play Video
Get in the Ring(Live debut)Play Video
The Pursuit of VikingsPlay Video
Twilight of the Thunder God
Note: Announced as "Guardians of Asgard", celebrating the release of new album "The Great Heathen Army"
After Amon Amarth, it was time for the 5th band: Come come to the Sabbath, Down by the ruined bridge, who? Well, don’t touch, never ever steal, Unless your in for the kill, Or you’ll be hit by the curse of the pharaohs, Yes you’ll be hit and the curse is on you, what? I was born on the cemetery, Under the sign of the moon, one more time? MERCYFUL FATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I had been waiting to see these guys live since I started listening to them when I was 18 and this was a dream come true. This was also Mercyful Fate’s first Wacken appearance in 23 years as they had gone on a long hiatus in 1999 and reformed 3 years ago. Even though it was weird seeing them without Michael Denner as he and King Diamond aren’t on good terms and as well Timi Hansen as he died of cancer almost 3 years ago as well, but they still delivered the goods live. At 66, King Diamond can still execute those awesome falsettos. Before A Dangerous Meeting he had said in between songs “The sun is gone. I thought I was going to melt. Otherwise, it would’ve lead to a very dangerous meeting”, which shows that the King hasn’t lost his sense of humour. Mercyful Fate put on a phenomenal live show and here’s their setlist:
The OathPlay Video
A Corpse Without SoulPlay Video
The Jackal of SalzburgPlay Video
Curse of the PharaohsPlay Video
A Dangerous MeetingPlay Video
Doomed by the Living DeadPlay Video
MelissaPlay Video
Black FuneralPlay Video
EvilPlay Video
Come to the SabbathPlay Video
Encore:
Satan's Fall
After Mercyful Fate, it was time for the 6th band: I’m elected, electric spy, I’m protected electric eye, who? I’ll fight you under blood red skies, what? He is the painkiller, This is the painkiller, one more time? JUDAS PRIEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 6th time seeing them live and 3rd time seeing them at Wacken Open Air as I last saw them 4 years ago. They had a great set as this was their 50th/Half Century anniversary of being together as a band, even though Rob Halford, Glenn TIpton, and Ian Hill are the longest serving members. I will also say as great as their set was, the only disappointment was Glenn TIpton not making an appearance like how he did 4 years ago to play a 3 British Steel encore even with his advanced Parkinson’s Disease, but it’s understandable as Rob did say that he would make occassional appearances whenever he was ready to like how he did in Barcelona a month prior to Wacken. Also since I didn’t eat much all day I was growing increasingly angry at the amount of crowdsurfers interrupting my headbanging as I do regret going further into the infield when I should’ve just stopped on the centre left side, but nonetheless Priest still put on a great show and at the time when he was 70, now 71, Rob Halford still has the pipes. Here’s their setlist:
War Pigs(Black Sabbath song)
Battle Hymn
One Shot at Glory
Lightning Strike
You've Got Another Thing Comin'
Freewheel Burning
Turbo Lover
Hell Patrol
The Sentinel
A Touch of Evil
Victim of Changes
Blood Red Skies
The Green Manalishi (With the Two Prong Crown)(Fleetwood Mac cover)
Diamonds & Rust(Joan Baez cover) (with snippet of Black Sabbath "Iron Man" main riff as intro by Richie Faulkner)
Painkiller
Encore:
The Hellion
Electric Eye
Hell Bent for Leather
Breaking the Law
Living After Midnight
We Are the Champions(Queen song)
After Priest were done, I then retreated to get some food, ran into Rabih for a bit, and then went to my tent to decompress, went to brush my teeth and then have a shower, then returned to my tent and went to sleep!
August 5th, 2022, Day 5: For the second consecutive day a band I wanted to see didn’t start until close to 5, so I just hung out at the camp for a good chunk of the day and then left.
Before At the Gates took the stage, I caught the 7th band of Wacken Open Air in CLUTCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It had been 6 years since I last saw them which was when they were direct support for Lamb of God and even though I’m not a fan of them on record, they’re great live. They also did a good cover of Black Sabbath’s Lord of this World. The only thing I was disappointed with was them not playing The Mob Goes Wild as that’s the one song I know best from them. Here’s what their set looked like:
We Need Some Money(Chuck Brown & The Soul Searchers song)Play Video
Sea of DestructionPlay Video
Burning BeardPlay Video
The SoapmakersPlay Video
A Shogun Named MarcusPlay Video
Promoter (Of Earthbound Causes)Play Video
Earth RockerPlay Video
The House That PeterbiltPlay Video
X-Ray VisionsPlay Video
Firebirds!Play Video
Lord of This World(Black Sabbath cover)Play Video
Red Alert (Boss Metal Zone)Play Video
We Strive for ExcellencePlay Video
ImmortalPlay Video
Electric WorryPlay Video
The Face
After Clutch it was time for, Slaughter of the Soul, Suicidal final art, who? Under a Serpent Sun, what? The face of all your fears, Your fears unleashed, one more time? AT THE GATES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 4th time seeing At the Gates live and 2nd time seeing them at Wacken as I last saw them 7 years ago. This time around I enjoyed their set a lot more even though I found it short and that’s because A. The weather was nicer compared to 7 years ago and B. They played my favourite album from front to back, Slaughter of the Soul. I will say Tomas Lindberg at 49 still has the pipes and has absolutely phenomenal stage presence. I will say when I saw them in Toronto last Thursday, it edged out the Wacken set in terms of time as they played for over an hour, but it doesn’t beat Wacken in terms of atmosphere when seeing them outdoors in front of a packed field. Here’s what their setlist looked like:
Blinded by FearPlay Video
Slaughter of the SoulPlay Video
ColdPlay Video
Under a Serpent SunPlay Video
Into the Dead SkyPlay Video
Suicide NationPlay Video
World of LiesPlay Video
Unto OthersPlay Video
NauseaPlay Video
NeedPlay Video
The Flames of the EndPlay Video
The Night Eternal
After At the Gates it was time for, There is no time, No time to regret, The eraser’s coming for your life, who? Running from the shadow, Can I ever be free? what? A new era has begun, The world is falling, one more time? HYPOCRISY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 4th time seeing these guys live and first time seeing them at Wacken as I saw them earlier this year in Toronto and I must say this was the most I enjoyed seeing Hypocrisy live since I saw them the first time, which was 12 years ago. This was also Hypocrisy’s first show back at Wacken in 18 years and it was entited “Hypocrisy Destroys Wacken Again” which they did just that. I will say I definitely enjoyed Hypocrisy a lot more at Wacken not just in terms of atmosphere, but I could hear  Peter Tägtgren’s vocals a lot clearer whereas in Toronto, I could barely hear them, probably because I was standing in an awkward position away from the speakers at the venue in Toronto. Here’s what their setlist looked like:
WorshipPlay Video
Fire in the SkyPlay Video
Adjusting the SunPlay Video
EraserPlay Video
Impotent GodPlay Video
Chemical WhorePlay Video
Until the EndPlay Video
Don't Judge MePlay Video
Children of the GrayPlay Video
War-PathPlay Video
Fractured MillenniumPlay Video
The GatheringPlay Video
Roswell 47
After Hypocrisy I then made my way to the Louder stage where some German rapper was finishing and he was annoying but after he got the fuck off the stage, I got up to the front of the barricade and after an hour of waiting it was time for, Lay down your souls to the god’s Rock N’ Roll, who? Don’t burn the witch, The wings of hell aren’t wrong, what? All hell breaks loose, one more time? LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, FROM THE VERY DEPTHS OF HELL, VENOM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After listening to them for 16 years, the curse of me missing Venom at festivals I wasn’t at was finally bitten, envenomated, and killed. It felt fucking awesome to finally see Cronos in person as I had seen him on video before but it wasn’t the same compared to seeing him in person. Cronos also in between songs had made a pair of funny banters one of which was “16,000 people. Nice stages. Two pubs?” The crowd then cracked up, myself included. He had also made reference of Venom first playing Wacken back in 2000 when they were promoting Resurrection. Another funny banter Cronos said “Give me one moment. Are any of you out there having a hard time hearing my bass?” In which the crowd let out a massive No. Also before he kicked into Long Haired Punks he said “I see some long hairs and some short hairs, well we’re all Long Haired Punks”. Then as Venom were about to get off stage, Cronos then said “Sorry guys but we have one more song left no encores *makes whistling sounds and cutting off gestures* it doesn’t work that way, then by Venom tradition, he kicked into Witching Hour. I also then typed a venomous rant of me spewing venom at bands at Wacken I don’t like past and present, and other things that got my blood boiling as I was filled with pent up rage, I also forgot to take aim at  Mötley Crüe and that’s Fuck you guys for becoming the latest band to renege on your promise of calling it a day in which they’re more like  Mötley Poo as they’re absolute shit and the fat bastard known as Vince Neil can’t sing to save his own damn hide. It was all the more reason I’m glad I wasn’t there in Toronto when they played with Def Leppard as Def Leppard would’ve nuked them off the stage just like how Alice Cooper did 7 years ago. Also I forgot to spew venom at In Flames and that’s fuck this band for boring me 4 years ago before Ghost took the stage and plus  Anders Fridén absolutely fucking blows as a singer for his vocals have weakened over time and I nowadays find he tries too hard to be a comedian when he really flops and that his performance got bitten, envenomated, killed and devoured by Venom’s performance since his band is like a European Adder squaring off with a King Cobra. I will also highlight that it was great to see the actual band in Venom live, like how it’s awesome to see the Tom Hardy lead films where he plays the anti-hero symbiote of the same name who bonds with Eddie Brock in cinema. Here’s what their setlist looked like:
Black MetalPlay Video
BloodlustPlay Video
Long Haired PunksPlay Video
AntechristPlay Video
Leave Me in HellPlay Video
Don't Burn the WitchPlay Video
Welcome to HellPlay Video
Buried AlivePlay Video
Grinding TeethPlay Video
Pedal to the MetalPlay Video
Countess BathoryPlay Video
WarheadPlay Video
Witching Hour
Also one more thing, for those who read my venomous rant, I stand by every word I said especially of me spewing venom at Slayer and their half assed performance from 8 years ago as Venom bit, envenomated, killed and devoured Slayer’s performance. My grudge towards Slayer or more like The Tom & Kerry show is undying that I skipped their final German show at Wacken 3 years ago as I knew it’d be a waste of time, especially after Dave Lombardo left and after Jeff Hanneman died, and to be blunt, British bands like Venom are superior then Yankee and Redneck bands as Venom wield a lot more influence as they influenced not just the big 4, but all forms of extreme metal. Another thing that irked me was Behemoth finishing up their set as Venom took the stage but I skipped Behemoth as A. I’ve seen them live 8 times and B. I’ve seen them twice at Wacken. I also stand by my venomous rant of taking aim at both Phil Anselmo and Rex Brown for “reuninting Pantera” as Pantera isn’t Pantera without the Abbott Brothers and if Pantera get added to next year’s Wacken, I will for sure skip them.
After Venom got done coating the whole of Wacken in venom, I tried to make my way to the infield to see Slipknot but it was impossible as it was insanely packed and In Extremo were finishing up so I  just retreated back to my campsite and relaxed. Plus I’ve seen Slipknot twice, both times with Joey Jordison and the first time was before Paul Gray died, so I was fully content. Chances are I would’ve not enjoyed Slipknot’s set as much since Joey had been out of the band and also hasn’t been with us for over 13 months. Before I went to bed, I had caught wind in the chat that Micha’s leg had been broken by some asshole in the pit, which infuriated Max Neukirch to punch the asshole and give him a black eye, if I was there I would’ve done worse to that cocksucker ie rear naked choke him and wrap my legs around his waist so he wouldn’t escape and until he went unconscious or since Diana has hunted before and if it were legal, I would gladly go trophy hunting for human slime like that guy and once he was captured, I would then torture, skin alive, and decapitate him and mount his head on my wall as a form of psychological warfare for other human scum not to fuck with me. I then brushed my teeth, took a shower, and went to sleep.
August 6th, 2022, Day 6 and the final day of Wacken Open Air: This was by far and large the slowest day for me at Wacken as by now I had racked up seeing 10 bands altogether in total, but Saturday was the least busiest as I only saw 3 bands play. Another crappy moment that had happened within our camp was Julian Wegener getting stung by a wasp on his mouth and needing to go to the medial tent, but fortunately he got fixed up. After once again chilling at my campsite, I made my way to the Bullhead City Stage.
When I got there I caught this awesome band from Toronto, STRIKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 4th time seeing them and all the times I have seen them have been outside Toronto. I first saw them a decade ago in Edmonton when they opened for Metallica via them winning a contest to see who would open for Metallica’s two shows in Edmonton at the time and I last saw them 6 years ago when they opened for Razor and Annihilator in Waterloo. This was also my first time seeing them with Cory Hofing behind the kit and Cory did a phenonemal job. It was also Cory’s first trip back to Wacken in 9 years as he was last there when Crimson Shadows competed and ultimately won the Wacken Metal Battle competition. The crowd was loving Striker and as well during Striker’s set I felt a tap on my shoulder and it was Agostino, who had been looking for me for several days but sure enough found me in my spot. Here’s what their setlist looked like:
Heart of LiesPlay Video
Born to LosePlay Video
DeathwishPlay Video
Out for BloodPlay Video
The FrontPlay Video
CrossroadsPlay Video
Pass Me ByPlay Video
Phoenix LightsPlay Video
Fight for Your LifePlay Video
Full Speed or No Speed
After Striker’s set, Agostino and I got chatting and drank a couple of beers, ate some food, and as well for the 12th band I saw, I caught an Avant Garde band from Iceland and they were pretty good, I forgot their name so unfortunately I have to omit their name.
After the Icelandic band finished, Agostino and I walked around then we parted ways and I made my way into the infield.
After having to endure a full and torturous Arch Enemy set, it was then time for Oh, Demons are a girl’s best friend, who? Resurrection by Erection, what? We drink your blood, When the midnight sky is red, one more time? POWERWOLF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This was my 4th time seeing Powerwolf and funnily enough they weren’t supposed to be on this years Wacken bill but after Till Lindemann cancelled his appearance at Wacken, Powerwolf were replaced as another headliner and it worked out great. Each time I’ve seen them live they get better with every life show I’ve seen, even though there was a lot more crowdsurfers then usual, but after a 3 year absence people had pent up excitement to get all their energy out. I’ll also highlight that before Powerwolf took the stage, there was the Wacken announcement for next year and it featured a battle between zombies and vikings, which was real cool to see. I will also highlight this was the first time I saw Powerwolf live where Atilla Dorn had cut his hair as the first 3 times I saw them live, he had long hair. Plus Powerwolf were the final band I saw at Wacken and here’s what their setlist looked like:
Faster Than the FlamePlay Video
Incense & IronPlay Video
Army of the NightPlay Video
Amen & AttackPlay Video
Dancing With the DeadPlay Video

Song played from tapeOutro(Wolves Against The World
Once Powerwolf ended, I then retreated back to my campsite as I was exhausted. Was going to stay for Lordi but I changed my mind as I only know one song and that’s Hard Rock Hallelujah so I wasn’t interested in their set. I then did the usual of showering and brushing my teeth, going to sleep. Then the next day disassembled my tent, then after an hour and a half to 2 hour wait, finally left the infield, chilled at Esther’s for a couple of hours, then returned to Hamburg and then made my way to Berlin for two nights.
All in all this was a great Wacken Open Air, the weather was great as even though it did rain here and there it was enough to get rid of the dust but not even close to turning the mud into quicksand. I look forward to next year’s Wacken as I was glad I got my ticket before it sold out in a record breaking 5 hours.
WACKEN FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
