Today is my 10th anniversary as a Frozen fan!

October 20th 2014 marked my first day as a fan of Frozen after watching Once upon a time season 4's first episode "A tale of two sisters" that starred Elizabeth Lail as Anna, Georgina Haig as Elsa and Scott Michael Foster as Kristoff.

As I've previously gone over in this post a long time ago, this series was my gateway into the Frozen fandom and which made me watch the movie a month later!

The flora and fauna of Frozen!

For our first new-ish entry to the Archive, allow me to introduce you to the flora and fauna of Frozen. Most fans probably recognise Sven the reindeer and the wolves from the first movie and the sunflowers in Frozen fever but did you know there are over 70 unique species of animals and plants featured, mentioned or referenced throughout the franchise?

In late 2022, I made a very short-lived series on Reddit covering two types of plants and one type of animal found in the Frozen movies. I felt it was time to expand the list a little…

I hope this will be the most comprehensive list of flora and fauna found in Arendelle and beyond ever made and I hope it will be of use to someone! I’m sure there are plenty of artists and writers out there who want to enrich their own Frozen world and hopefully this list can help!

I have arranged the list following a similar structure to my previous project The Frozenverse, starting off covering the movies and novels and then gradually moving into different story-material.

Also, we must not forget Elsa's reaction to "And they all get married!"

I know we can't make definitive conclusions from the reactions of 8-year-old Elsa but the rest of the movie doesn't offer us anything that suggests that her views of romance have changed. Yes, he's excited for Anna's engagement but why wouldn't she be?

Watching the movie for the first time, it was very clear to me that this scene was there to satisfy all of us who are happy with Elsa the way she is (single). Had the writers really wanted to establish if she swings any particular way, they would have taken advantage of this scene and made a call-back to it later. "I knew I never wanted a prince already when we were little," she might have said.

Where in Frozen 2 does it imply that Elsa is Asexual?

When Elsa and Anna are playing in the beginning.

Anna: Uh oh! The princess is trapped in the snow goblin's evil spell! Quick Elsa, make a prince, a fancy one! Oh no, the prince is stuck too! "Who cares about danger when there's love?" *Makes a prince and princess snow doll kiss* Elsa: Ugh, Anna, blegh… Kissing won't save the forest! The Lost Fairies cry out! What sound does a giraffe make? Nevermind! They wake the Fairy Queen, who breaks the spell and saves everyone! Anna: And they all get married!

Now, this doesn't necessarily mean Elsa is asexual, since they're just kids - but given that Anna in the first film prioritized romance and finding her true love, much like her kid self here, I believe that this is meant to be a soft hint at where Anna and Elsa stand in terms of romance. Anna treasures it, while Elsa (as of F2, at least) prioritizes other things.

Off topic but I have to admit Frozen 2 was one of Disney's biggest masterpiece, the native language, the songs, the storyline, the goosebumps everything is on point. There are rumors of Frozen 3 coming in 2025 and so my eyes are ready to cry again at this masterpiece (The Nordic culture 😍)

So I had actually posted this a couple days ago, but it turns out Tumblr was being its weird self again and it never actually showed up anywhere. So, I'm going to repost it and just hope it goes through this time.

I started this blog back in June of 2020. In three years, 500 of you guys decided that this blog was worth your time. You wanted my analyses, discussions, rants, and random Frozen posts littering your dashboards. Even now in this dry period of Frozen content, you guys still show support for my posts.

I know 500 isn’t exactly something to brag about when there are Frozen blogs on here with well over 1000 followers, but every single one of you, even if you don’t actively engage with my content, mean so much. Thank you all for your support. Here’s to another three years, and another 500 followers!!
