SF - Presidio Woods - 1991 I have a very good time in this place since in 1956 I was born in the Presidio as My Dad was station there. Well in the 1980's Regan Closed ALL the Military Bases in the SF Bay Area as for that it became a US National Park as part of the GGNRA Group But my place is still close to my heart that I always come here to take photos, and each time in whatever lighting or time of weather it is thrill to be there. I Just Wish that they did not CLOSED the Burger King at the Presidio there. The Cafes there SUCKS. #OnThisDay, March 21, 1963, #Alcatraz Prison in San Francisco Bay closed and transferred its last prisoners. The 22 acre #AlcatrazIsland had been home to a federal prison since 1933. Prior to its years as a federal prison, it was a U.S. military fortification (construction began in 1853) and a military prison (1868-1933). Marin Coast

One of the best parts of San Francisco is our wilderness backyard just across the Golden Gate Bridge.  The Marin Headlands are a world away yet only a quick ride across the bridge. On weekends, you can even take the MUNI 76x– it always please me to see that bus from the city winding over the hills.  I have hiked up and above Fort Cronkhite countless times and it has always been an inspiration for my art.  The Adventure People even had a photo shoot on one occasion.  This latest painting is of the view looking down to Tennessee Cove. It is at the end of trail that was closed for years.  The drop off at the edge is a bit scary, but it’s worth the view.
