tried out the new Protea augment and I really like it, I thought at first I might have to have both Temporal Anchor augments buuut blaze artillery is strong on its own, plus armor rework makes armor strip less of a necessity
i enjoy the ability to actually move around more as well

So after fighting for months to include an ad banner in the game I've made I suddenly realised that for a first time project it was...not worth it at all? :'D
Long story short:
I published Bomb di fé on itch.io
Ad free
Tumblr media
It's a silly little text based game that I made to fiddle with phone input (like gyroscope and compass). I WAS going to publish it on google play but I made the mistake of submitting the ad version first, and now Google don't believe me when I try to say I removed ads from it TT even worse it won't let me delete the ad version I already submitted. So until I resolved that it's just available on itch.io
It's an android game, from what I tested it looks low-key ugly on tablet but still works :') small victories

just got hit like a brick by the realization that i could like. post one of my solo campaigns on ao3, couldn't i. if they involve characters from any specific fandoms. like, i looked extensively through the guidelines and i'm not seeing it explicitly confirmed one way or the other, but also i can think of zero reason why it wouldn't be allowed? it's literally just fanfic written from prompts, only instead of a random word generator or whatever you're rolling dice now and then.
there are some systems i wouldn't do that with, like my hack of marchcrow's pokemon polyhedral that i've enjoyed and played quite a lot, because they're more repetitive quick-moving game loop than actual RP unless you go out of your way to add it in; it'd just feel spammy, technically allowed or not. but something like an RPGSolo or Over the Mountain campaign would i think be a hundred percent appropriate for ao3.
absolutely wild. i think i'm gonna do it.

I was looking at some lob corp reviews earlier and the biggest thing that kept catching me off guard was how many ppl talked abt the game running poorly. Maybe I just have low standards but I always was impressed by how well it ran on my laptop that runs most games at like 5 frames per second, like it took quite a bit for the frame rate to notably dip, and Ive never had the game crash on me even when I actively pushed it's limits. I know there's some memory leak issues but I guess I always assumed any performance stuff was minor and just caused by keeping the game open for super long periods of time, I would have never thought of that as a particularly noticable part of lob corps jank
#rat rambles#lobotomy posting#and to be clear Ive played lob corp for hours at a time and Ive never felt like the game was chugging that much#like I rly only had noticable frame rate drops when having like 50 agents attack smth at once#also even outside of that I feel like ppl treat lob corp as if its Way more janky than it actually is tbh#like dont get me wrong. it has jank. obvious jank. criminal jank. but its not like. constant or even as common as ppl act like it is#its mostly seen in certain mechanics just. straight up not working. but outside of two examples most of them are very minor#now the two exceptions are. pretty bad. the stupid bracelet in particular is Really bad. but yknow.#theres other miscellaneous glitches and visual errors but none of them caused me any real problems#I also think ppl generally exaggerate how hard lob corp is but tbf I agree that the hardest stuff is a bit overtuned#cough cough binah#generally tho the main glaring flaw of lob corp to me is that it doesnt make it clear at all that you literally Have to reset shit#like once you understand the core gameloop and that youre meant to memory repository and do day one resets when you get stuck the game#becomes a Lot easier like you super dont have to deal with shit you arent ready for yet its not meant to be unfair in it's difficulty#like genuinely most of the game is a normal fun amount of difficulty its just a few specific fights and challenges that get stupid hard#it just rarely feels properly unfair imo#in general I feel like a lot of games that ppl call too hard just straight up. arent.#like every time I see someone calm oni too hard I shrivel inside a bit#same with rain world neither games are nearly as hard as ppl act like they are they just are built to have a learning curve#youre meant to experiment and learn in these games and ig a lot of ppl think that means theyre too hard#like ofc they wont be for everyone but that's not a fault of the game I think

Hypnotised to be focused on nothing else but the game in front of me.
Being drawn into the addictive gameloop, the swirling graphics, the melodic tunes. Not noticing you positioning me in your preferred position. Never blocking my senses needed to play the game when ravaging in any way you desire. Never letting me register the pleasure and arousal that my body might be experiencing. Maybe even allowing my physical body to cum, but certainly not actually letting me notice anything you're doing to me.
I'm just a good, obedient boy, and I'm focused on nothing else but the game in front of me, just like you told me to.

For some reason I'm having a better time with programming than art. Why is programming so much easier I've only been doing it for like 5 months now. I anticipated drawing to be the easy part but god I was so wrong.
Updated: Prunes Potion Shop
Prunes Potion Shop
Made a bunch of art assets and hated them
More gui edits. Getting the namebox to display correctly was hell thank god it's over
The basic gameloop runs now. Can be played indefinitely
Optimising variables so the whole thing isn't bloated with if statements.
Started coding the "Invitation Letter" (aka pity system) to help the player meet their favourite characters faster.
Started making potion sprites

Yeah, and honestly the more time goes on and the more persuaded I am the game would have benefited immensely from divesting itself from the idea of being a literal sequel. A spiritual one, maybe, as in: same type of game, same artstyle even maybe? But a different Hyrule, like Spirit Tracks followed Phantom Hourglass in the far future. I think half of its worldbuilding choices, namely this one, wouldn't have been as jarring as they are now --and they wouldn't have to feel as deeply married to BotW's open world design, which, in my opinion, was more a hindrance than a bonus in the end and forced them down a familiar path that constrained how the world could serve its story --especially when you take into account the relative similar scale in production time. Even the blatanly similar character arcs would have felt more excusable then, as it's a staple of the series to have these echoes happening, ricocheting things we have seen before; but here, we are actively encouraged to understand the two as continuity and to try and make them interact together as a coherent narrative. And so, the game comes off as worse for it for many people... and it's a shame I think.
Thinking about how the Ancient Sheikah tech mostly just *disappeared* in TotK, it really highlights how TotK is structured in such a similar way to BotW: there were catastrophic events in the past that Link must uncover via collecting memories, and throughout his journey in the present, he is aided with tools gifted by to him ancient benefactors.
In TotK, the ancient benefactors are the Zonai, who completely replaced the Ancient Shiekah. TotK is now a story about the Zonai’s influence (even though *they were mostly gone* by the time Zelda was zapped back there), and perhaps the Ancient Sheikah would be distracting from that, or make the Zonai feel redundant.
