#Gelfling Elkie

Super quick in-between prizes sketch of Elkie and her sister Adette (I might change her name. Both Elkie and Adette mean noble but Adette also means sweet. Idk if anyone has any suggestions for a better name I’m open to suggestions)

Elkie’s family won’t admit it but Adette is their favorite. Elkie is kinda the rebel daughter although her expression may say otherwise lol

The Castle Guard in the first one isn’t suppose to be Tore but he looks like him from behind lol

Enyo is a fan of warriors and warriors with strong physiques. She and Fleur are cordial but not friends, frienemies but not friends. I feel like a lot of Enyo’s interactions with Fleur are either rival-ish, ignorant or cordial. Maybe Fleur had no drinking buddies that particular night andEnyo happened to be there. Along with a Castle Guard.

I’d add more about that one but we’d be here all day.

The second is a School AU which is fun to imagine! Perhaps one day we’ll see what most of my Ocs would’ve looked like in a modern high school or college setting! Elkie and Azra we’re the most fun to draw. Especially Elkie. I had to draw that artists beret

Azra is using chemistry class to learn to make smoke bombs or concoctions that will help her better in mixing potions for spells. Omg Azra in goth clothes is something I want to draw! Definitely when I end up drawing the school au lineup.

Finally the last one is Elkie and her sister Adette! They are both precious andi must draw more of the two of them together. Since their hair is the perfect shade for dying the Grottan sisters have fun dying each other’s hair. This becomes handy later on so someone doesn’t get the two of them mistaken.

Adette visits topside later and that is when she and Elkie strengthen their sisterhood. Their parents really made a wedge that prevented the two from wanting to be close.

But yeah, after Elkie learns of hair dyes, she goes to the taverns and merchant shops with a new color every few unum (if she chooses)

Quick colored sketch of Elkie my Ethereal Grottan Queen!

Her design changed very subtly, her lashes are now white. I need to practice drawing them better so that they look as cute as they can be. The light eyelashes look is so pretty, and I must do it justice.

We’ll be seeing more of Elkie in the future. She’s fun and her interactions with someone is hilarious!

These were all done on my train rides the past two days (hence why I personally think Cha’l and Kiel look slightly off) I also added Viara because she was my second Dark Crystal Oc and she deserved to be included. Originally this was going to be most of my young adult ocs but then Ofir, Rizzi, Sera and Ortun said, “hold up! What about....us?”

I need to get back into human proportions because some of their noses are slightly off. I also have a ship I am getting tempted to draw from an anime I’ve watched and my IG feed shows me all the cutest drawings of them.

Maybe I’ll do some of the canon characters as humans. I’m afraid my interpretations of them won’t be so unique or something that hasn’t been done.

Anywho~ these are just a portion of my Gelfling (and one Podling) ocs as humans! I hope you all enjoy this!

Meet Elkie my aloof Grottan archer! A big thank you to @sen-moon for the name suggestion!

I love the Grottan and when I was designing Elkie, I wanted her to be opposite of a Deet in personality- believe me I can make a super sweet Grottan but I wanted my first adult Grottan to have a bit of coldness about her.

I would be curious about "11. What is their dream pet?" for any of your OCs! I'm not very familiar with the Dark Crystal OCs people have on here, but it's cool to see everybody having fun with them!

Second, thank you! Dark Crystal Ocs are so fun! If I could I would make a series of graphic novels lol

I have a ton of Ocs but I'll write for a few that connect with this question.

Fleur: Tumbeloths! She and her boyfriend have two. One was his surprise gift to her (but this tumbeloth Jujubee loves Razer more). The second is Jujubee's mate who they adopted into the family (his name is Fabio, and he likes Fleur more lol

For a long time Fleur wanted a Crystal Skimmer but that will be a dream to dream.

Cha'l: Muski and Fizzgig. Growing up Cha'l had a family Fizzgig named Piff but he would like one that is his own. He and his girlfriend/fiancé were on a quest to find a Muski. The Musli is more of her dream pet but Cha'l gets excited for her and the adventure they have.

Kiel: Lunarkin! As a childling he had a plush Lunarkin and boy did he love it! It became his favorite animal and by Thra he wanted one. But he knows it's impossible to own one so he and his partner, Sammi, enjoy watching them when they can.

Azra: Awlis (I hope I got the spelling right, it's the big black bird that can pick up an adult Podling) She wants one solely for that reason and because they look scary, Azra loves scary/frightening and creepy crawlies. She also would like to at least befriend a Ruswha, a predatory fish. She does own two Gigantic centipede-esque creatures and they are her babies.

Ofir: Literally anything fuzzy and cool tempered. Don't tell Piff though she will get jealous.

Tore: Rakkida. He just wants to be a show-off but isn't capable of dedicating time to any pet. He's also pretty scared of them but wants to one-up or be equal to Eri.

Elkie: A Hollarbat. She loves their colors but she doesn't know how to go about adopting one in the wild, yet.

Kenai: Pluff'M. He loves their colors and big eyes. He also fancies the idea of teaching it how to play the drums as well so they could put on performances for his girlfriend Quinta and her siblings.

I might reblog this answer with some of the others. I'm away from my Bestiary book at the moment and I got an idea for another Oc.

Angsty sketch comic alert! This one features Takoda and Adora (Elkie’s twin) as well as Elkie somewhere down the road.

I sketched this one some time ago when I began feeling mentally and physically better from a few things. Takoda x Adora is the wholesome sweet ship my friend @jack-toons thought looked cute and I saw the light and potential of these two! One of these days I will share how they met and developed a relationship lol

This sketch comic takes place during the Garthim Wars. Automatic angst! Adora is kind of an angsty Gelfling when I think about it. She’s not the brooding angsty type of gal but it hits her a lot when she’s alone or around others she is strongly familiar with. Pair that with how hectic the Garthim Wars is…Adora isn’t handling the situation well. Takoda is a very patient and soft, yet stern guy when he needs to be- he’s definitely Adora’s rock and dispeller of most negative thoughts.

I won’t blab TOO much…believe me I will lol

I’ve become very busy as of late and haven’t had the chance to do too much drawing, and giving good replies to messages super fast,so here is a little treat of my favorite little Sifa, Azra, and her big glow up!

On the left of the first drawing is everyone’s favorite creepy girl! On the left are two prototype drawings I made of her way back in July, back when I wanted to create a female Sifa. The curly haired one had to be scrapped because I made her look too much like Onica. Here she was going to be the “mom friend” and very calm. The twin braided one was on her way to being Azra, but then I made the final design that had a lot more character/personality. In this design she was going to be more shy and withdrawn, kinda like how Elkie characterized at the moment.

Here are Azra’s humble beginnings and I’m so glad her final design is the one that stuck because I cannot picture Azra being the mom friend or the shy girl in her adult design, I love this little ball of chaos lol

(I have a few other early sketches I might post up. Most might be revamped for other characters. I’m a Gelfling oc machine!
