#Gelfling Ofir

Happy 2nd anniversary to TDC:AoR! (I’m hoping to post some more stuff as well today too)

Maeve’s comic is starting off much more cleaner sketch than I originally intended. I got a new art gig to help develop a young artist and it motivated me a lot to make Maeve’s comic closer to what my college penciled comics looked like. (I also intend on making my stonegrot pieces for Stonegrot week to be close to this level)

These are all characters I rarely draw, Ofir is the closest to being an exception. And so far it’s been nice drawing them and writing their dialogue. I can’t wait to write more for Vidra and Erdahn since only one other person knows more about them. I also can’t wait to write little mentions of the elder Stonesan siblings because you know how some grandparents can be and the Stonewood grandparents are them lol.

This comic is gonna focus on Maeve as well as overlap with some events from the series. Heads up that future pages will have a trigger warning and be tagged as such. This comic during it’s climax is gonna be a ride.

So I did my morning Gelfling studies, and I drew @thanatasia Ocs, I know some of them look crappy, but It was my first time drawing them^^

More IG answers featuring @nurloxx OC Eri who’s basically the Stonesan family’s second daughter lol She and Ofir have super an awesome friendship! And she is Fleur’s oldest friend!

Fleur is that friend who will make sure that you are doing fine during a rough patch. Her friends have been there for her and she makes sure to be there for them. Fun activities or comfort food is always on the schedule for cheering up friends!

Eri’s funny quirks have definitely rubbed off on Ofir. He likes getting into a bunch of shenanigans with Eri, especially transporting and delivering her candy and any sugar!

Rizzi is always ready to help with anything that looks fun and dressing up in costumes is something she’s never done before. Th ether of them together are a force to be reckoned with. Thorough planning, obtaining the candy without getting caught and sharing the spoils with the club!

These were all done on my train rides the past two days (hence why I personally think Cha’l and Kiel look slightly off) I also added Viara because she was my second Dark Crystal Oc and she deserved to be included. Originally this was going to be most of my young adult ocs but then Ofir, Rizzi, Sera and Ortun said, “hold up! What about....us?”

I need to get back into human proportions because some of their noses are slightly off. I also have a ship I am getting tempted to draw from an anime I’ve watched and my IG feed shows me all the cutest drawings of them.

Maybe I’ll do some of the canon characters as humans. I’m afraid my interpretations of them won’t be so unique or something that hasn’t been done.

Anywho~ these are just a portion of my Gelfling (and one Podling) ocs as humans! I hope you all enjoy this!

I would be curious about "11. What is their dream pet?" for any of your OCs! I'm not very familiar with the Dark Crystal OCs people have on here, but it's cool to see everybody having fun with them!

Second, thank you! Dark Crystal Ocs are so fun! If I could I would make a series of graphic novels lol

I have a ton of Ocs but I'll write for a few that connect with this question.

Fleur: Tumbeloths! She and her boyfriend have two. One was his surprise gift to her (but this tumbeloth Jujubee loves Razer more). The second is Jujubee's mate who they adopted into the family (his name is Fabio, and he likes Fleur more lol

For a long time Fleur wanted a Crystal Skimmer but that will be a dream to dream.

Cha'l: Muski and Fizzgig. Growing up Cha'l had a family Fizzgig named Piff but he would like one that is his own. He and his girlfriend/fiancé were on a quest to find a Muski. The Musli is more of her dream pet but Cha'l gets excited for her and the adventure they have.

Kiel: Lunarkin! As a childling he had a plush Lunarkin and boy did he love it! It became his favorite animal and by Thra he wanted one. But he knows it's impossible to own one so he and his partner, Sammi, enjoy watching them when they can.

Azra: Awlis (I hope I got the spelling right, it's the big black bird that can pick up an adult Podling) She wants one solely for that reason and because they look scary, Azra loves scary/frightening and creepy crawlies. She also would like to at least befriend a Ruswha, a predatory fish. She does own two Gigantic centipede-esque creatures and they are her babies.

Ofir: Literally anything fuzzy and cool tempered. Don't tell Piff though she will get jealous.

Tore: Rakkida. He just wants to be a show-off but isn't capable of dedicating time to any pet. He's also pretty scared of them but wants to one-up or be equal to Eri.

Elkie: A Hollarbat. She loves their colors but she doesn't know how to go about adopting one in the wild, yet.

Kenai: Pluff'M. He loves their colors and big eyes. He also fancies the idea of teaching it how to play the drums as well so they could put on performances for his girlfriend Quinta and her siblings.

I might reblog this answer with some of the others. I'm away from my Bestiary book at the moment and I got an idea for another Oc.

May I introduce my Drenchen Gelfling Rizzi and Kenai! Also a colored Ofir (Bhihaar’s genes are strong and only Cha’l came out looking like a mix of both he and Maeve lol)

Rizzi is a sweet Childling who loves flowers and animals as well as taking part in many sports activities! She and Ofir become friends prior to the events in AoR. They hit it off really well and enjoyed playing around during his and EnchantedSandstorm’s visit to the Swamp of Sog. The second image is what she and Ofir look like as teenlings when they reconnect during the Garthim Wars.

Kenai is a super chill guy who is a musician and his preferred instrument are the drums, which he plays throughout the day at the Great Smerth. When he’s not on his shift, he’s at home getting high as a kite or creating tunes to show off to his friends. He is one of Shiyoon, who belongs to @myfanartblogplusshippingtrash , ex boyfriends but the two of them are still friends. He’s shorter than the average Drenchen but he makes it work lol

I have two more to draw up and here are some IG questions about Kenai and Rizzi! Also Ofir makes a minor appearance!

They are my Drenchen babies and I will get better at designing clothes for them lol

I had to! When Ofir gets old enough, he develops the tsundere tendencies like his Fleur. He spends a lot of his childling and early teenling trine avoiding love/romance, when it happens he doesn’t communicate his feelings super great.

Two things; 1st. I can’t get over how little Fleur and Ofir look like their mother and 2nd: seeing Ofir grown up makes me feel like how his mother would lol

Here are the ones with my favorite family and favorite Sifvap!

Bhihaar and Maeve are as in love and attracted to each other as the day they confessed their feelings. Their children have a range of reactions to when these two decide it’s time to flirt lol

Ofir and Rizzi are super cute! Ofir’s reaction to love is like Simba when Zazu told him that he and Nala would get married one day lol. He is not a romantic like his brother and sister! Rizzi however likes romance and teases Ofir about why he doesn’t like love, but she finds it adorable!

And Kiel! He has stolen my heart and here’s a brief summary of his life!

Her are 2 little sketches I made of Fleur and Cha’l’s younger brother, Ofir. He’s super cute, he loves Fizzgigs, he wants to be a hero when he grows up and he’s a vegetarian lol

He is a cinnamon roll and I want to hug him!

@jack-toons and I were talking about Cha’l’s love life and of course I had to draw his exes lol. I can’t stop creating characters it’s too addicting! Cha’l and Fleur have complex relationship issues. Where Fleur must learn that love at first sight isn’t always on your side (for her first encounter with love) and Cha’l endures some of the complications that a relationship can have. I picture Cha’l having multiple run-ins with romance but 2 of those relationships were dear to him.

Lalit was Cha’l’s first love. They would meet in secret for about a trine because her family didn’t approve of their relationship. By the end of their trine together, Cha’l decided to call it off because he felt they weren’t deserving of only experiencing love in the dark and he didn’t want her to be disowned by her family.

Ofir/Tau (I’m leaning more towards Tau) was Cha’l’s last relationship and they were together for a good while. They met when Cha’l joined Kiel’s ship after Kiel had pulled a trick on them. From that moment on Cha’l became closer with them. The two of them had a fun and adventurous relationship but it eventually grew colder as they became more distant and wanted different things in life by the end of their relationship. They remain really good friends though and often share drinks together with Kiel.

Cha’l has no idea what he’s in for in the future lol

Happy 2nd Anniversary and my submission for @createforthra Day 1: Favorite Creature

Above we have my two favorite creatures and pets lol From the moment I saw the Tumbeloths in the Bestiary book they became my favorite. I personally like how they were drawn in the bestiary book because they have ears but that’s just me.

This Tumbeloth is OceanPetals fur baby, Jujubee. She loves her dad more than her mom, which makes for funny Fleur reactions.

The second is Piff the Fizzgig, Sass Queen of the Stonesan home. I’ve been watching “House Broken” on Fox and if I could compare Piff to anyone it’s Tabitha the cat. Piff is only mushy with one Gelfling, Ofir. To everyone else she’s a diva. She’s an older Fizzgig but don’t let that fool you lol

Happy Mother’s Day to all the mothers/mother figures of our lives.

This took me so long to complete but here it is!

From the top we have Maeve kissing Ofir goodnight. He’s her youngest and her little prince. Ofir makes Maeve feel young and she loves raising a young childling again!

Captain Sera can’t have childlings so all of her crewmates see her as a mother figure, especially the ones who are without any parental figures. She later learns of another way of having a childling of her own thanks to WanderingSails, but for now she is content with her found family of crewmates.

Azra didn’t grow up with either parents because they had died during a fatal ship wreck. Her grandmother is the closest Gelfling she has to a biological mom. The two of them are super close and she gets to see a side to Azra very few Gelfling get to see.

Quinta belongs to @nurloxx and Kenai is her loving boyfriend. The baby in her arms is her little sister Zora, who sees Quinta and Kenai as her parents. I love their relationship so much!

Shiyoon and Cha’l have already begun their big family lol The childling on top of Cha’l’s shoulders is Keziah who belongs to @everadream EnchantedSandstorms has some of the most mischievous childlings and their family is so entertaining.

Fleur and Razer are the happy parents to their Tumbeloth, Jujubee! There's another Tumbeloth they have named Fabio (Jujubee's mate) but I couldn't fit him in nicely. We'll see what the future holds for them, 👀

And finally we have Sammi and Kiel who have created a found family. Here Sammi is teaching they and Kiel's adopted daughters how to fly. Kiel is here because this is a moment Kiel didn't want to miss (the boys are being watched by Azra lol) and he can't pass up the chance of getting flown in Sammi's arms (it's not everyday the smol can look down on from high heights lol) WanderingSails also has a lively family and we will definitely be seeing them! In this piece they're with Zuri (Spriton), Ula (Sifa) and Cinder (Grottan)

Introducing Vidra and Erdahn, Maeve’s parents and the Stonesan siblings Grandparents.

Here is a brief description of them.

Vidra is a skilled Woodcrafter as well as a wood sculptor, she taught Cha’l how to make lovely sculptures. Erdahn is a renowned hunter; a skill Maeve quickly picked up.

They had hoped that Maeve would marry a skilled warrior who was the embodiment of the perfect Stonewood Gelfling. When they found out that Maeve had finally found a mate they were beyond disappointed of the match between Maeve and Bhihaar. To them Maeve’s union with a Dousan was a bad omen.

Despite their discontent with who Maeve came to love, Erdahn and Vidra would not forbid their union because they know their daughter and she would continue to do anything she set her mind on.

They eventually come around when they had gotten news that Maeve was pregnant with Cha’l. It was their idea for the Stonesan couple to return to the travelers sector of Stone-in-the-wood to continue her pregnancy somewhere safe and not surrounded by the dangerous unknowns of the Dark Wood. The arrivals of Cha’l, Fleur and Ofir made the elder Stonewood couple want to do better and be the best Grandparents they could be.

Unfortunately, both Vidra and Erdahn were under the Arathim control and among the many Stonewood Gelfling to be drained.

Here’s a little backstory to how these two attractive Gelfling met and fell in love! Words can’t describe how bad I want my hand to get better so I can sketch these ideas out!!! Like, the two of them being sneaky and giving little gifts to each other!!!!

You know Fleur loved every second of listening to this story, meanwhile Cha’l liked hearing it but not as much, and Ofir definitely only wanted to hear the exciting parts lol
