[eng/pl] Pena Palace reminds me marvelous castle from "Arabian Nights". Those decorations, gates, colors and even small towers and domes. Everything has a little magic.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ If You see the entire Pena Palace, it seems to be a little bit tacky and trashy. But... if you look at them from the right side, choosing only its fragment - it turns out that it can move into a completely different, fairy-tale world.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ I was little lucky because I visited Pena Palace in the most incredible time - at sunset, with fog rising above the hills.⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ ...⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Pałac Pena w niektórych momentach przypomina bajkowy zamek z "Baśni 1000 i jednej nocy". Te zdobienia, bramy, kolory, a nawet drobne wieżyczki i kopuły. Wszystko ma odrobinę magii. ⠀⠀ ⠀⠀ Jeśli popatrzeć na Pałac Pena w całości, wydaje się być trochę tandetny i kiczowaty. Jednak jeśli spojrzy się na niego z odpowiedniej strony, wybierając tylko jego fragment - okazuje się, że może przenieść w zupełnie inny, bajkowy ��wiat. Showing you what is going on in the world and what is being done to make it better.Il nuovo sito Globalstories.org  propone una mappa di iniziative e storie da tutto il mondo che, andando ad agire direttamente sulle problematiche del territorio, sono in grado di testimoniare cambiamenti e questioni irrisolte. Queste storie non avrebbero potuto ottenere una visibilità elevata nell’epoca pre-web ma adesso, grazie alle tecnologie di rete e all’uso massivo dei social network sites, sembra che il racconto di iniziative e attività in atto da diverse parti del mondo si possa diffondere maggiormente.

Ogni storia, sia che essa riguardi una lotta per i diritti umani, una svolta nella protezione dell’ambiente o una cronaca di fatti politici, può ora divenire un elemento condivisibile con i network personali (Facebook, Twitter e Google Plus), nonché essere il punto di partenza per approfondire di più una determinata causa.

Abbiamo intervistato per voi Fung Wah Man, fondatore e direttore di Global Stories, con l’intento di capire meglio quali siano le potenzialità e i possibili usi di questo sito.

Lei ha fondato il sito Global Stories, può raccontare ai lettori di Food4Brain da dove è nata l’idea e come spiegherebbe a un nuovo potenziale utente che cos’è Global Stories?

Global Stories is a project to enable the world to see all the great multimedia story telling being produced for the net. For audiences, it is a way of seeing what is going on in the world and what is being done about it. It is also a way of letting the audience be their own news editors and express their views via their own social networks. Information is becoming more and more visual in this increasingly graphic design led space so Global Stories was conceived to apply that thinking to the presentation of news itself.

“Global Stories è un progetto per consentire al mondo di vedere il grande storytelling multimediale che è stato prodotto per la rete. Per il pubblico, è un modo di vedere ciò che sta accadendo nel mondo e cosa si sta facendo al riguardo. È anche un modo per permettere che il pubblico stesso sia autore ed esprima le proprie opinioni attraverso le reti sociali. In uno spazio sempre più guidato dalla grafica e dal design, l’informazione sta diventando sempre più visuale e perciò Global Stories è stato concepito applicando questo principio soprattutto alla presentazione della notizia stessa”

 Qual è la filosofia che guida l’attività di Global Stories?

Being a multimedia platform, Global Stories believes it can promote political diversity, drive creative innovation and provide editorial transparency. What Global Stories wants to do is create a virtual space where organisations wanting to show what they do can access an audience who want to show that they care. It is the visual expression of a new kind of digital democracy where audiences can work together with the agents of social change to form new kinds of virtual relationships where they help each other in ways that only the internet makes possible.

We can show a lot of information quickly in places where the world is changing – such as in Syria today.

“Essendo una piattaforma multimediale, Global Stories ritiene di poter promuovere la diversità politica, guidarel’innovazione creativa e garantire la trasparenza editoriale. Quello che Global Stories vuole fare è creare uno spazio virtuale in cui le organizzazioni che vogliono mostrare ciò che fanno si possano rivolgere a un pubblico che vuole dimostrarsi interessato (ed effettivamente lo è, ndr.) a queste attività. Sarebbe l’espressione visiva di unnuovo tipo di democrazia digitale, dove il pubblico può collaborare con gli agenti del cambiamento sociale per creare nuovi tipi di relazioni virtuali in cui si possano aiutare a vicenda in modi che solo Internet rende possibile. Possiamo mostrare un sacco di informazioni in modo rapido in luoghi dove il mondo sta cambiando - come ad esempio in Siria.”

 Nel futuro come crede che si svilupperà il sito?

We have only just began to learn so we can evolve and are excited at the prospect of making a positive contribution to those working hard to make the world a better place.

“Abbiamo appena iniziato ad imparare, quindi possiamo evolvere ed essere entusiasti alla prospettiva di dare un contributo positivo a coloro che lavorano duramente per rendere il mondo un posto migliore.”
