Time to stray away from the other types of au's I have... Welcome to LusterTale! If you don't know, Luster is 'a gentle sheen or soft glow, especially that of a partly reflective surface'. LusterTale is another of my very old AU's, One that I hope to revisit more.

In this AU, the UNDERGROUND is very dark, and cold, like a normal cave.

Monsters had to find a way to brighten up the underground, and made a system using the core and their magic.

Fire Elementals were a big help when it came to distributing light, as well as any other fire wielding monsters.

Because of this, Grillby is quite busy, and has Sans and Papyrus (Lumen and Gleam) help him with run the bar.

Gleam helps make a lot of the side dishes when Grillby is around, and helps manage the kitchen if Grillby is needed elsewhere.

Sans works as a waiter, though you can find him sitting down and talking with the customers most of the time.

Sans has a messed up eye light that he hides, he got it from a fight, which I'll get into some time later...

Hey hey @kumatora770 look what I did

I’m still getting used to pens, my apologies, but tada!!! This was mostly done a while ago but then it occurred to me that I had no brown, so I had to wait until my new pens arrived before I could finish. All in all, adequate piece of art, the colors are pretty, and I’m proud of myself.

I just came up with an Undertale AU, so please tell me if someone else came up with it or if it's bad please.

It's call Underglow or glowtale, each monster in the underground have unique patterns on them and they glow because they adapted to how dark everything was, they don't have little bursts of sunlight down there and the colours change based on how they're feeling, the older monsters like Toriel, Asgore, and Gerson don't have the prominent glows because they use to be on the surface, but they have a faint glow because since they're magic their own bodies have adapted a bit to their surroundings, instead of flowers (besides echo flowers) there are mushrooms everywhere and when you touch them they glow. The ruins are still like the ruins but dark and no leaves, but instead of purple it's black and blue, like waterfall but bricks, snowdin still has snow, but there's more ice than anything, but people still call it snowdin, waterfall is the same, but instead of flowers for the bridge it's big mushrooms, and hotland is the only source of light because of the magma, but nobody really goes there because it hurts their eyes, but people still needed to go through it, so when they go there they just put on goggles to block the light, and they can't glow there unless their emotion is REALLY strong, and you can still barely see it. New home is the same, just a little darker since everything is grey, but there's no golden flowers in the throne room, but all of the plants you see in waterfall (besides the flower bridges). Frisk fell down because they couldn't see where they were going and tripped on some rocks, flowey is a sentient echo flower and that gets annoying since everything they say or what someone else says is repeated.

That sounds really cool actually and no I haven’t heard of that 👀 I understand how you might think it exists because the world of Undertale AUs is ever-expanding n stuff and it feels like everyone’s thought of everything already, but really there’s a lot more people can come up with like how you just did! I read this and pictured the aesthetic and it was really cool imo- I’d love to explore this AU just to feel the glowy magics :0

soooooooooooooo I made an AU...called GlowTale lol Basically the Core had a huge magical malfunction and now the whole underground has become a bioluminecant paradise. "The waters run pink and shimmer like glitter, the walls are lined with vines full of glowing flowers of brilliant color, and the monsters...well, they grew, adapted, and evolved to better fit their new magical environment." This whole AU was heavily inspired by Ark: Aberration because I love that game and I couldn't stop thinking about it lol

EDIT: I changed the name of the AU after some refined details were worked out.  The AU is now called: AberrationTale
