'Someday' Chronicles Rhino Hero's Inspiring Legacy, selected for KIFF

Vishal P Chaliha’s latest short film ‘Someday’ has found an honourable place in the forthcoming Kolkata International Film Festival. This is a short environmental documentary film on the retired Forest Conservator of Forest Shri Dharanidhar Boro who served in the Assam Forest Department. This film presents how Dharanidhar Boro tried to curb rhino poaching primarily in Manas and Kaziranga National Park with his non-violent way of handling rhino poachers. Dharanidhar Boro served for many years in the Agoratoli Range of Kaziranga National Park where he established a school for the villagers. The villagers living near the national park have always been influenced by rhino horn smugglers to help them locate and kill rhinos. Dharanidhar Boro endeavoured to build a positive connection with the villagers, shielding them from the influence of wrongdoers.

Director Vishal P Chaliha

Director Vishal P Chaliha is a writer and actor from Guwahati. His first feature film Sijou (2021) premiered at the 52nd International Film Festival of India in the Indian Panorama section.  ‘Someday’ (2023) is the second film he has directed. Now, Vishal is working on his next feature film. He is playing a character in an upcoming film of Rima Das.

Producer Priyam Chaliha

Priyam Chaliha, is an active producer of film and TV programmes.  Her film ‘Tai Phake’ was awarded the National Film Award and she was also one of the producers of the film Sijou. Someday is her latest work.

Jawa Barat memiliki sejuta pesona wisata yang tak kalah menarik dengan Jawa Timur. Ada satu wisata pantai yang menarik di Sukabumi, yaitu Pantai Karang Hawu. Pantai Karang Hawu berada di Kecamatan Cisolok, Kabupaten Sukabumi, Propinsi Jawa Barat.

Objek wisata pantai ini dikenal dengan nuansa mistis yang berhubungan dengan mitos penguasa pantai selatan, Nyi Roro Kidul. Pantai ini merupakan salah satu pantai terkenal di Sukabumi dengan ciri khas tebing yang menjorok ke laut.

Pantai ini di sebut Karang Hawu, karena di areal pantai ini ada sebuah karang yang menjorok ke laut dan memiliki lubang di beberapa bagiannya yang berbentuk menyerupai tungku (atau hawu dalam bahasa sunda). Karena itu, pantai ini kemudian dinamakan Pantai Karang Hawu.

Harga tiket masuk Pantai Karang Hawu di Sukabumi yaitu Rp 2.500. Keistimewaan yang dimiliki oleh pantai ini ialah panorama alamnya yang sangat indah, udaranya sejuk, dan memiliki hamparan pasir yang lembut dan luas.

Warna pasir di pantai ini putih sedikit kecoklatan dengan teksturnya yang halus. Sementara garis pantainya memiliki panjang mencapai 3 km dengan tepian yang melengkung. Di pantai ini, Sahabat Sporto dapat melakukan aktivitas seperti surfing, berenang, dan memancing. Mabel loves cats and her favorite color is Orange which is one reason she loves her cat Meelo a lot. She enjoys being outside most days rather than being inside. I continued to ramble everything i had learned about Mabel to my mother to convince her that Mabel is real.  seni budaya Nusantara sangat beragam dan penting di lestarikan karena sudah banyak terkikis oleh budaya luar dan mulai di kuasai dan di akui oleh negara lain. ketoprak merupakan permainan orang-orang desa yang menghibur diri dengan menabuh lesung secara berirama di saat bulan purnama (gejog). Seiring berjalannya waktu ditambahkan dengan sebuah tembang (nyanyian), gendang, terbang, dan suling, kemudian lahirlah ketoprak lesung. Pada tahun 1909 ketoprak pertama kali dipentaskan dalam pertunjukan lengkap. Ketoprak yang pertama kali resmi dipertunjukkan yakni Ketoprak Wreksotomo. Ketoprak tersebut dibentuk oleh Ki Wisangkoro. Setelah awal peresmian pertunjukan ketoprak, perkembangan ketoprak sangat maju dan diminati oleh masyarakat. Adapun beberapa jenis pertunjukan ketoprak yang berkembang dari awal hingga saat ini yaitu: Kotekan Lesung, Ketoprak Lesung Mula, Ketoprak Lesung, Ketoprak Gamelan, Ketoprak Pendopo, dan yang terakhir Ketoprak Panggung.
