@zozo-01 wanted to hear my thoughts on the rest of the boys’ potential wedding rings after my ramble about David’s on EJ’s post so… here we go!

Asher

First of all, this man gets a silicone ring.

He does not trust himself not to utterly ruin a metal one, and silicone is easy to replace and have spares of.

(My husband has two silicone rings. One that’s simple black and came with his real metal wedding ring, and one that’s gunmetal grey with The Mandalorian’s helmet etched into it. It’s actually really cool.)

Asher gets a silicone ring that’s shiny and metallic, but has some Star Trek something etched into it. Whether that be the Enterprise or a quote, IDK

Alternatively he gets something from Halo. Either/or works and fits. We love a nerdy boi

Second alternative: he gets something that closely matches Babe’s. Still silicone but color matching

Milo

Mr. Fashionable. Mr. Stylish.

Milo’s ring is gold.

At least, it looks like it’s gold

In truth, it’s an alloy. Gold is too soft and malleable and even though Milo takes care of his jewelry, he’s also a shifter and knows that a gold ring wouldn’t be practical

He also has a moissanite on his. The band arcs up to the top of the gem so it doesn’t stick out too much from his finger, but there is very much a moissanite.

Milo picked moissanite over a diamond because it’s more ethical, barely lower than a diamond on the hardness scale, and also has a higher brightness index

Y’all. The gem on his ring is reflective and shiny

Maybe Aggro tries to put it in his mouth idk

His and Sweetheart’s anniversary is engraved on the inside of the ring

Hoo boy! Sam!

Darlin’ gets Sam a ring with meteorite around the middle because his hand doesn’t change as he gets older, therefore he can get a ring that’s hard to resize.

The metal is shiny and durable, and the meteorite is slightly iridescent

It’s comfort fit, with the curved inside, and the edges of the outside are beveled so he can move his fingers without being encumbered.

Gorgeous ring 10/10

Darlin’ argues that his ring does have a stone on it because of the meteorite and Sam always laughs and says it’s not a gemstone so it doesn’t count

Mr. Fashionable and Stylish As Well

Vincent’s ring is platinum. Shiny, bright, strong. Expensive

The man likes the finer things in life and his wedding ring should be no exception

The inside is engraved with several significant dates. The day he met Lovely, their first real kiss, the day Lovely turned, the day he proposed, and the day they got married

Where’s that post about the Solaire rubies so I can properly credit the person? Because that concept lives in my mind rent-free and Vincent absolutely puts his ruby in his wedding ring

Also, comfort fit and beveled outside edges and several extra gemstones lining the middle channel of the ring almost all the way around

Gavin’s ring is made of magic so he changes it to match his outfit when he sees fit

The most common though that he seems to prefer the most is a braided band of white, yellow, and rose gold with scattered teeny diamonds

If I described all the other designs Gavin morphs his ring into, we’d be here for days

My man is very happy to be taken and he wants it to be visible at all times, thank you very much

Avior

Avior’s ring isn’t a ring so much as it’s a bunch of silver metal stars embedded with star sapphires that stay clustered loosely around his finger because they’re magic and he wants them to.

Elliott’s got a white-gold wedding ring with constellations etched into it, each star a tiny dot of moonstone

Except Brachium in the Libra constellation. That’s an amethyst

He’s got My Dreamboat and his and Sunshine’s wedding date engraved into the inside

He’s also got the comfort fit, but didn’t like beveled edges so it’s not beveled

Geordi’s was hard to come up with, tbh

He has a pretty thin ring, comparatively

He goes for tungsten at first, but it oxidizes quickly so after a couple years he switches over to a cobalt chrome one and leaves the tungsten one for traveling or when he doesn’t want to risk his real ring

He also has Live Long and Prosper engraved to the inside

Ollie

I struggled so hard to think of one for Ollie, I’m not gonna lie

He gives Casual Ring Vibes but I wasn’t sure if that meant he got a tungsten one and didn’t particularly care when it oxidized or he just went simple and got a thin gold band just to show he’s happily taken

He also works with his hands a lot fixing up stuff around the house so he definitely has at least one silicone ring

Aaron has the boring classic gold wedding ring

Thick band. Straight fit. No beveling

Morgan doesn’t work with his hands much in his day-to-day life, but he still prefers the practical

He goes for a cobalt chrome ring with a thin gold band around the center, preferring the durability over expense or flash, and the ribbon finish rather than the polished finish so scratches are barely noticeable unless someone’s really examining it close up

Beveled edges and comfort fit definitely

Engraved inside is “Into the Future with You” and his wedding date

GEMSONA REDESIGNS AND NEW ADDITIONS

I decided to give all of my gemsonas updates, as well as draw new ones that I have been wanted to do for a long time.

In order from left to right, top to bottom. Warning, long post:

Onyx - An off-colored Onyx gemstone given a chance by Rose Quartz/Pink Diamond to become something great. In time he became the greatest scientist Homeworld has ever seen. He is kind, compassionate, patient and intelligent, but can be nervous and unsure of himself due to his off-colored nature. He is currently in a relationship with @coffeedraws’ Rhodochrosite. His ability is being able to stretch and flex his body without strain. His gem is in the middle of his upper torso.

Tanzine Aura Quartz - Or simply called Tanzine. She is an immensely popular gem fashion designer on Homeworld, creating such dazzling designs for the elites. She is very sociable, upbeat and dramatic, but knows personal boundaries and respect for other gems. Her ability is to control non-sentient crystals and use them as projectiles or shields. Her gem is on her chest.

Prehnite - A cosmic dust collector, he collects space dust and star particles for research. While a master at his work, he tends to rely on old ways to research and analyze cosmic dust. He can be very sweet and adorable, but do not insult his work, his friends or his height, or else face his temper. He has no eyes, but his gem helps him see, although he can really see only green. He is currently in a relationship with @shinydoduo’s Hiddenite. His weapons are laser chakrams. His gem is on the back of his head.

Taaffeite - An assassin for Blue Diamond, she is tasked with taking out rogue gems and troublesome space diplomats from other planets. She is very shy and quiet, but when she comes to like someone’s company she gets clingy. She cannot speak, but she can project her words into other gems minds so they can hear her. Her weapon is a crystal ball that fires lasers. Her gem is in the middle of her back.

Lake Superior Agate - Or just Agate. He’s a mysterious gem who believes he is a Crystal Gem, but has a bad case of amnesia. He’s a sweet, bubbly and friendly gem, but gets serious when the situation calls for it. His weapons are explosive bouncy balls. His gem is located on his belly.

Almandine - The perfect of her kind, tall, powerful and fierce, but deep down is a gentle giant. Her duties are to attack and protect, whenever the situation calls for it. She knows it’s her role, but deep down she does it because she really cares for her fellow gems. Her weapon is a gladius, and she has the power to give weapons fire enhancements. Her gem is located on her chest.

Benitoite - An office gem tasked with keeping records of information and history. She is very young and naive, always upbeat and sometimes oblivious to things around her. She always tries her hardest though, even when things are tough. She has no weapons, but can summon a pen from her gem. Her gem is located on her left hand.

Red Phantom Quartz - A gem formed in Era 2 for combat purposes, but due to the lack of resources he could not form completely and was given a full body enhancer to compensate for it. He feels ashamed that he needs the body suit, and always feels he has to push himself to prove his worth, even though he’s done so countless times. His ability is to create and manipulate fire. His gemstone is on the chest of his full body suit.

Orthoclase - Once a normal warrior gem, he’s now become a cannibalistic psychopath who eats his own kind. During the War for Earth, he was captured and tortured by some rebellious gems who were a little too extreme, this caused him to lose his mind and devour them all. When Homeworld gems found him, he was detained and locked in a full body lock prison, only let out when they need him for dirty work. His weapon is a sharp tongue which can cut through most solid objects. His gem is under his chin.

Medi-Pearl - Medical nurse pearls that were used mainly during the War for Earth. They were designed to be sympathetic and caring, and they have the ability to heal cracks in gems, but it’s not always a clean job. Now they are used very little, mostly for healing gems on the colonies. Their gems are always on their left chest, and their gems fire a healing beam.

Moissanite - In my AU, I created high gems called “Governesses”, gems who stand in as acting Diamond while the real diamonds are away or too busy. While they are able to give authority, they cannot disobey the direct orders from the Diamonds. They are also able to walk and talk among other gems instead of being high above them. Moissanite is the Governess of White Diamond, which is why she looks like her. She is very alluring and manipulative, always wanting to find gems she saw as perfect for Homeworld society. She saw Onyx as a gateway to whole new possibilities and manipulated him to do what she saw as best for Homeworld. Her gem is located on her upper chest.

Howlite - The leader of the Science Division on Homeworld before Onyx took over. He’s very old, grumpy and strict on the scientists, but he only wants to make sure Homeworld has the best tech and research his division has to offer. His ability is a stasis beam to freeze other gems. His gem is located on his forehead.

Grey Pearl - She is Howlite’s pearl. Unlike most pearls, she is very emotionless and monotone, very unfazed by any anger, sadness or happiness thrown upon her, making her and Howlite’s relationship comedic in ways. She has no abilities nor weapons. Her gem is located on her forehead.

Goshenite - A scientist on Homeworld, the star scientist before Onyx entered the picture. He is very intelligent, handsome and sociable, making him very popular on Homeworld. He can seem suave and charming, but deep down he’s egotistical and malicious. He is extremely jealous of Onyx when he starts displaying greater intelligence than him, and winning the heart of the gem he most desires; Rhodochrosite. His weapon is a laser sword. His gem is located on his left eyes.

White Agate - A diplomatic gem that oversees gem production and discipline. She’s very cold, harsh and rude to lesser gems, yet she shows nothing but praise to higher ups. She was in charge of overseeing Onyx’s emergence from his hole, but when he did not meet expectations she was furious and ordered his shattering. But when Onyx started to surpass expectations and become something great, she started to brown-nose to him, saying what an achievement he was, like an annoying hypocrite. I personally love too "strange" and unknown minerals, so I'll try to make this list as complete as possible!

(it will be a LONG list under the cut. but i cant help myself!)

COLOUR/ASPECT:

Volkonskoite

formula: Ca0.3(Cr,Mg,Fe)2((Si,Al)4O10)(OH)2 · 4H2O hardness: 1 to 2 nickel-strunz classification: 9.EC.40 colours:blue-green to olive-green

Volkonskoite is a... blob of colour. It has a waxy lustre and can be very shiny! It's also very soft and can be scratched easily, but its pretty cute...

Conichalcite

formula: CaCu(AsO4)(OH) hardness: 4½ nickel-strunz classification: 8.BH.35 colour: green, VERY green

this mineral is VERY VERY GREEN. it has the most beautiful green colour and almost always form in botryoidal form (spheres). very pretty. very very pretty.

Serandite

formula: NaMn2+2Si3O8(OH) hardness: 5 to 5½ nickel-strunz classification: 9.DG.05 colour: salmon pink, peach pink, rose-red

it's a bit harder mineral than the ones before, it has a very peculiar orange-red-pink colour! it can be both transparent and opaque.

Pyrargyrite

formula: Ag3SbS3 hardness: 2½ nickel-strunz classification: 2.GA.05 colour: dark red/silver

composed of 60% by silver, its an incredible mineral! under direct light has a silver shine, but if lighted in the right way (mostly from behind or from some angles) its a beautiful dark red colour! 

Proustite is a similiar mineral, but instead of Sb there is As!

Diaboleite

formula: Pb2CuCl2(OH)4 hardness: 2½ nickel-strunz classification: 3.DB.05 colour: deep blue

kinda soft but LOOK AT THAT BLUE!

FORMATION:

Triazolite

formula: NaCu2(N3C2H2)2(NH3)2Cl3·4H2O hardness: 2 nickel-strunz classification: none colour: deep blue

called like that because its one of the only two triazolate minerals (the other being chanabayaite). formation is similiar to the Shilovite (my oc) one- guano reacting tochalcopyrite. very very rare.

Similiar minerals are Joanneumite, Shilovite and Ammineite.

Minium

formula: Pb3O4 hardness: 2½ nickel-strunz classification: 4.BD.05 colour: bright orange, bright red

other to have a very cool name, it's the (violent) oxidation of lead, usually by lead mines taking fire. its INCREDIBLY heavy!

Pitticite

formula: (Fe, AsO4, H2O)? varies hardness: 2 to 3 nickel-strunz classification: none colour: yellow to red to brown

amorphous gel (just like opal). it means its very hard to break and has no cleavage (points where it can break easily) but its not really a mineral more of a "mineraloid". grows from oxidation of arsenic minerals, usually in flooded mines and hot spring waters.

unique combination of elements and new structure! also one of the newest gems to be "officialized", this year in 2020!

Johnkoivulaite

formula: Cs[Be2B]Mg2Si6O18 hardness: 7½ nickel-strunz classification: none yet colour: colourless/dark blue, indigo or purple

unique combination of elements, a very new gem soon to be published (probably next year) but its most interesting property is its incredible pleochroism! (pleochroism is the property of a mineral, depending on where you watch it, it "changes" colours. NOT like alexandrite, its a different thing!) so this mineral is both colourless and dark blue (or indigo or purple depending on the gem) at the same time! it just changes the angle from where you watch it! Related to beryl.

Tlalocite

formula: Cu10Zn6(Te6+O4)2(Te4+O3)(OH)25Cl · 27H2O hardness: 1 nickel-strunz classification: 7.DE.20 colour: aqua blue

named after Tlaloc, the Aztec god of rain and water. has a high water content and its not brittle and breakable like most minerals but more gummy and sectile, not breaking in pieces but slicing if cut.

Nierite

formula: Si3N4 hardness: 9 nickel-strunz classification: 1.DB.05 colour: unknown. pure its colourless, but can be brown. 

incredibly rare mineral, found only in stardust and meteorites. very very hard. related to Diamond and Moissanite.
