You will understand how they maintain and manage greenery in whole country and turn it into tourism. _ They explained it very well in +6 degree video. @visit_singapore love this place so much. _ I'm feel so bad why we indians people don't care about our environment and nature. We are killing our environment more than our country. If this small country made it. Why don't we ? _ #gardenbythebay #singapore #worklife #workmode #gridmode #firsttimeinsingapore #singapore_insta #entrepreneur (at Garden By the Bay Singapore) https://www.instagram.com/p/BxjByH3ppfe/?igshid=r9549pn3ob02

A Beginner’s Guide to Photography
Want to start doing photography, but don't know where to begin? This photography 101 is the best place for a few tips and tricks to help you as you begin your journey as a photographer.
Firstly, there are 2 main parts of a picture:
Subject
Surrounding
The relationship between the subject and surrounding makes a better picture. A good picture has to have a sense of context. If you feel the photo you clicked isn't good enough, you simply aren't close enough.
A light subject should be captured on a dark background and a dark subject should be captured on a light background, unless the photographer is trying to create a certain effect.

A PHOTOGRAPHER'S DIET
In order to take the best possible photograph, you should try and follow the photographer's diet.
D : Design
A sense of geometry, like a shape or some lines
I   : Information
By looking at the picture, someone should be able to understand what is going on
E  : Emotion
You should feel something when you look at the picture
T  : Time
The right moment
MODE RING
Tumblr media
Main Factors-
P: When aperture and shutter are both decided by the camera
S/TV: Shutter Priority/Time Value
M: Manual- Can loose the perfect picture 90% of the time as it takes quite long
A/AV: Apperture- You select Aperture and camera decides shutter
Auto: Completely decided by camera
Ideally use P mode and avoid A
LEADING LINES
To attract someones attention to a particular part of your picture, try and find leading lines in nature. Leading lines are lines in a photograph that lead you to the subject.
Tumblr media
For example, in this picture, the leading lines which are made by the mowed grass- lead you right to the house, which is the part of the photo the photographer wants you to focus on.
THE RULE OF THIRDS
In photography, a picture is divided into 9 different sections by an imaginary 3 X 3 grid like the one shown below.
Tumblr media
If the subject of the photograph is on one of the lines of the centre box, or where it is marked, it is more likely to catch someone's attention.
Tumblr media
As you can see in the image above, the rule of thirds has been used perfectly. If you want to use the rule of thirds on a daily basis when taking a picture, simply turn the camera on your phone to gridmode and you will have your very own 3 X 3 grid on the screen.
A FEW OTHER DSLR BASICS
Exposure Value (EV)
Changes the brightness/exposure. Negative (-) is darker and positive (+) is brighter.
Should ideally be kept at 0. The negative (-) setting gets really nice pictures of buildings etc.
ISO
Sensitivity of the camera. The more the brightness the lesser ISO needed and vice versa. The lower the better. Set it to Auto. In regular daylight, it should be approximately 100.
Panning
When you have the subject fixed and the background is blurry. Set at a lower shutter speed like 1/4th of a second. Lower lighting conditions necessary. S mode: shutter priority.
Continuous Shooting
If taking a picture for example someone jumping, use continuous shooting mode.
Bubble Bursting
If you want something like a bubble bursting, use a very high shutter speed like 500 or 600. Or a continuous shooting mode. For a crisp photo with a high shutter speed, you need a bright light
I hope this taught you a bit about photography, so next time you take your camera out to capture a moment- make sure you remember a few of these guidelines.
Until then, byeee xx

SEIA investigates non-wires solutions in new white paper
Culminating a yearlong effort into grid modernization, today SEIA issued the fifth and final paper in its white paper series, Improving Opportunities for Solar Through Grid Modernization. Through this series, SEIA staff has offered thorough analyses on the expanding role distributed energy resources (DER) will have in our nation’s electricity mix.
The paper released today, DER and the Non-Wires Solutions Opportunity, provides an in-depth look at the ways in which utilities are deferring traditional distribution grid investments with investments in DER.
“Today, customers are increasingly seeking more control of their own energy, and with the rapidly falling cost of solar power, utilities are realizing the traditional business model needs to change,” said Sean Gallagher, SEIA’s vice president of state affairs. “By strategically modernizing the electric grid, distributed energy resources like solar can flourish and provide reliable, low-cost power and grid services to consumers and utilities alike.”
In this white paper, SEIA staff outline how two leading states have successfully advanced non-wires solutions to provide power and meet system needs where and when they are needed most. The paper also delves into the need to improve the grid planning process and tailor DER deployment mechanisms to capture the opportunity presented by non-wires solutions.
“This report brings an important aspect of grid modernization to the forefront—how distributed energy resources can provide a technical solution for grid management issues and save ratepayers money,” said Stephen Kalland, executive director of the NC Clean Energy Technology Center. “Most importantly, the report discusses how rate design can support these solutions, how utility business models must be modernized to fairly evaluate non-wires solutions, and how planning processes should be evolved to consider these solutions.”
“As the cost of new technologies continues to decline, and the power industry becomes increasingly sophisticated, opportunities are growing for non-wires solutions to deliver economic, environmental and individual consumer benefits,” said Tanuj Deora, executive vice president and chief content officer of the Smart Electric Power Alliance. “SEIA’s white paper identifies the potential to accelerate evaluation and deployment of these alternatives, as well as the need to further develop industry best practices for enhanced system planning, and the market mechanisms to make non-wires solutions a reality.”
