had grossology been a more mainstream show i guarantee you kid rot/chester would've been a fan favorite on tumblr

Kid Rot (Grossology) "Grossology is a 2000s spy kids show in the vein of Totally Spies and Kim Possible where the entire rogues gallery is based around gross stuff, to the point that you could honestly make a smaller bracket for corruption avatar that's just Grossology villains, however if I had to pick just one, it would have to be Kid Rot. A boy named Chester was researching a way to have food that never rots, in the hopes this might impress people and help him make a few friends. Instead, the experiment backfires, and a parasite that calls itself Kid Rot takes up residence in his body. Whenever Kid Rot is in control, everything they touch rots rapidly. Kid Rot mainly comes out when Chester is angry. He only appears in two episodes. In the first he battles with Chester over control of his body, and eventually, he wins, and runs off into the night. In his second he tries to woo a girl he has a crush on by rotting things, and then trying to devastate the Earth with his rot after she rejects him."

The Radiance (Hollow Knight) "The Radiance is one of the few higher beings / gods in Hollow Knight. It was previously the main higher being of the land know known as Hallownest. Then along came The Pale King. The Pale King buried The Radiance’s religious relevance with his own, becoming the knew main higher being of Hallownest. This! is because The Pale King was able to give the bugs thought, and let them have minds of their own instead of being savage beasts.

Also yes, every character in Hollow Knight is a bug. very corruption aligned as well.

Eventually, eons later, The Radiance came back, upset about being replaced. It brought about a mind-controlling plague known as The Infection. This was a mass breakout of a disease in Hallownest, which caused bugs to loose their minds and become obsessed with praising The Radiance. Not to mention the fact that orange sludge / goop drips out of the infected bugs in a really grotesque way. This is MULTIPLE elements of the corruption. Corruption of physical form, Corruption of thought, and religious corruption, as well as general themes of bugs. literally this entire game and franchise revolves around bugs.

The Pale King tries to fight back many times, sacrificing his own children and failing. By the time the player character arrives, The Knight/Ghost, Hallownest is already in a post apocalyptic state of infection, very few bugs with thought and true being remaining."

“Grossology Reboot” (#2)

1) My own idea of a redesigned Insectiva from Grossology if it were given a reboot. More insect-like traits in her appearance. In this interpretation, many of the villains are on the payroll or employment of Lance Boil. 

2) My own idea of a redesigned Lance Boil from Grossology if it were given a reboot. Lance Boil here is the main mastermind behind the gross-related criminal activity in Ty and Abby's city. An incredible genius who for the last several years has been recruiting other criminals (and civilians) to become under gross criminals his payroll. He spies on (nearly) everyone by hacking into the city’s various cameras from his secret headquarters. He’s very elusive and hardly ever does the work himself, usually having some stooge or other villain do it for him. Went down a more 'mad scientist' vibe opposed to this 'smug yet cool and suave James Bond billionaire type villain'. 

3) My own idea of a redesigned Slither Buddies (this being the escaped prototype, Cuddles) from Grossology if it were given a reboot. Their infant stage is based on the mythical Tsuchinoko. Made an attempt to make the other elements from other reptiles used in its DNA more prominent (monitor lizards, crocodiles, iguanas, boas, etc.) Funny story, when looking up the name I typed "thicc snake cryptid" and boom, first result. Heh heh. For it's adult stage, I used the mythical basilisk as reference. Artist's Note: *Size of juvenile and adult are not to scale w/ one another*.

4) My own idea of a redesigned Chester/Kid Rot from Grossology if it were given a reboot. In this reimagining of the series, Chester's gains his powers and alter ego in a similar fashion to the original. Though, his darkened skin when in his "Kid Rot" phase is limited to his facial area around the eyes as you can see. Unlike his counterpart from the original series this Kid Rot chooses to be a crime fighter and do good... but his other half (i.e. Kid Rot) can get extremely petty and serves justice his own uniquely "rotten" way. Because of this, he's viewed as a vigilante. Choosing to join neither the Grossologists or Lance Boil. Often causing problems for both parties. His relationship w/ Abby is far less obsessive and more as playful teasing (much to her annoyance) as he's seemingly always one step ahead of the two and gets away. 

5) My own idea of a redesigned Fartor from Grossology if it were given a reboot. In this interpretation he is the leader of a cult/gang known as "The Brotherhood of Fartor" who commit various crimes 'round town that are fart related (ex. robbing groceries/stores for foods that cause gas) w/ their endgame being to stink up the entire city (and more) for their liking. It's members consist of youths and young adults who are all mostly runaways, homeless, and have nowhere to go. There are various ranks and factions w/in this group. Basically think back to the Foot Clan from the 90's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and you get the idea. His seat can detach from those hoses and fly freely. The flatulence he breaths also powers the suit as a fuel source.  6) My own idea of a redesigned Sloppy Joe from Grossology if it were given a reboot. In terms of his character and personality, Joe is a lot more nastier in both regards. Way less friendly and childish. In this interpretation, he (and many of the other villains) are on the payroll/employment of Lance Boil. Artist’s Note: I might go back and make another revision of his design later on. 7) My own idea of a redesigned Scab Fairy from Grossology if it were given a reboot. For her I went w/ a more traditional fairy-like look for her appearance. Much like how the Tooth Fairy is often depicted as. As well as a 50s hairstyle/fashion. Grossologists, Ty and Abby are called in to investigate the robbery of the "Fairy's Eye", an incredibly beautiful (and rare) gem that was discovered and unearthed from the Scablands. The eyewitness says that the culprit was insect-like and could fly. Initially they suspect Insectiva. While looking for clues, a few scabs are found and are analyzed by Lab Rat. All them belonging to multiple people With this, Ty and Abby go around town and interviewe the owners. All their stories have one thing in common: the Scab Fairy. Claiming to have been visited by her in the night. Much later, they finally meet the Scab Fairy herself. They later find her true identity. Helena Globin, former university professor and beauty queen, who went mad and into hiding after obtaining a small cut which turned into a scab. She uses the stolen gem to power her sceptre while using the scabs she collects as a fuel source.

My Gen Z Crushes

These are the boys I was head over heels for from childhood to adolescence. The list includes characters from live-action and animation.

Jason Dean (JD) from Heathers (1989+2014)

You can’t have a husbando list without at least one yandere (the first one to exist before anime). JD is many girls’ favorite homicidal edge lord. I’ve always had trouble deciding which version of JD I liked best, the movie or the musical. On one hand, movie JD had the charisma, confidence, and twisted sense of humor to convince an honor student to commit murder. Plus, who can resist teenage Christian Slater? On the other hand, musical JD is more emotional and sympathetic. When he breaks down into tears over Veronica’s “suicide”, I feel it every time. Let me know which one you prefer.

Jack Frost from Rise of the Guardians

While the other girls were drooling over Edward Cullen, I was flooding the streets of New York over Jacky boy. His feathery frost hair and icy blue eyes are enough to draw in any pre-teen girl. His wild spirit and trickster nature make you fantasize that he’ll sneak into your bed at night and whisk you away to a romantic adventure.

Wilbur Robinson from Meet the Robinsons 

Back in the late 2ks, Wilbur was something of an underground heartthrob on the internet and it’s easy to see why. Not only. You roll your eyes whenever he gets cocky or pushy, but his determination and energetic personality are infectious. And his wide range of facial expressions is just adorable.

Peter Pan (2003)

This version of Peter Pan took the fantasies we had about Jack Frost (before he even existed) and made them a reality. You know you wished you were Wendy when he took her by the hand and danced with her right beneath the stars. 

Jim Hawkins from Treasure Planet

Jim had a smooth and compelling progression from angsty teen to clever hero. He's the only bad boy character I can remember that wasn’t an asshole.

Prince Caspian from Narnia 2

Peter and Edmund were cute and all, but they were both orcs compared to Ben Barnes. That glorious hair and manly chin are just breath-taking. Also, am I the only one who noticed that Caspian is just a male Snow White. A beautiful, royal teen runs away from home because a relative is trying to kill him, so he hides in a cottage in the woods with a dwarf. Disney loves to rip themselves off.

Marshall Lee from Adventure Time

Speaking of bad boys who were assholes, Marshall Lee qualifies. As Marceline’s counterpart, he goes to great lengths to get a rise out of people and sometimes, he doesn’t know when to quit. Despite this, he 

Chester/Kid Rot from Grossology

This one is a bit more obscure, but in middle school, I had a huge fascination with Kid Rot. He’s basically a pre-pubescent Jekyll and Hyde, a budding chemist who created a murderous second personality. He doubles as a dandere and a yandere, so there’s more of him to love.

Warren the Worm EAGLE (Don't Hug Me I'm Scared) "He’s an embodiment of toxic relationships and manipulation. He drives all his friends away and portrays himself as the victim. After getting fired from his organization for harassment, he enters Yellow Guy’s brain and causes the Brain Friends to abandon him with his self-centeredness. He becomes a parasite, clinging to Yellow Guy and following him as he retreats deeper into a state of dissociation."

(  I MEAN...YEAH KINDA?? Out of 52 episodes, Chester only shows up in like...two of them. And while the show does give some insight into his backstory, there’s still a lot just left to speculation, and the show also never bothered to finish his story arc properly, so I’ve just kinda had to rely on headcanons to fill in the blanks lmao. )
