#Group chat with the squad

Here's an ask for the squad in general - have you guys seen or even met any 'famous' Commanders or Jedi? If so, how was it? And is there someone in particular you'd like to meet once?

Knox: We have, yeah!

Kess: We met a bunch of the command batchers when we were in training. Part of the programs were to have the commando squads square off with the commanders for cross-training. No one was famous yet at that point, though. Everyone was still trying to make a name for themselves. Competition was pretty fierce with that bunch.

Knox: I got paired up with Commander Bacara for a sparring match, once. I was faster, but he packed one hell of a punch. And he was relentless. Don’t think anyone has ever been that determined to beat my ass. But I also don’t think he was expecting me to put up that much of a fight, either. We went 11 rounds before the trainers finally called a draw. He wasn’t happy about that, let me tell ya. Normally I wouldn’t have been happy with a draw either, but I felt like a pile of mashed potatoes by that point, so it was fine. Lol Now I can say I survived a fight with a marshal commander, though, so that’s something.

Speedy: yeah that was a hell of a fight

Speedy: i ended up doing marksmanship drills with commander blitz at one point

Speedy: picked up some great techniques from him for using dual pistols

Speedy: and i got to help him improve his quick draw which was cool

Speedy: oh hey kess didnt you get to meet jango once

Kess: I didn’t meet him directly, no. He was overseeing a training exercise I was in. At the time, it felt like such a privilege to get to train under his instruction. Super weird to think about in hindsight. Dodged a big-ass blaster bolt there, I guess.

Drums: Yeah, no kidding. I don’t really remember the commanders I met that well, but we have gotten to meet some Jedi masters! We’re at the Temple frequently enough that we run into folks. Mostly because of Master Eeridos, though. She knows everybody. Lol

Nitsani: She’s got the in-roads since she has a seat on a couple of the advisory councils. She interfaces with the High Council members pretty regularly.

Drums: She actually arranged for us to train with Master Rancisis recently! He’s an expert at Battle Meditation, so he was able to help us refine our Mind Bridge technique.

Nitsani: I was rather giddy about getting to work with him, not going to lie.

Knox: Me too, that was awesome. One of these days I’m hoping we’re in town when the 212th are planetside, though. Their hand-to-hand combat is legendary, I’d love to talk to some of those guys.

Speedy: they were in town the last time we were at the temple

Knox: Wait, really?

Speedy: yeah I saw general kenobi in the hallway

Knox: What??

Speedy: i saluted him and everything

Knox: WHAT?! WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME?!

Speedy: i had lunch with commander cody too

Knox: No you didn’t, shut up

Speedy: yes I did

Speedy: he regaled me with stories of all the droid punching hes done

Knox: Speedy, I swear to god

Speedy: it was great wish you could have been there

Knox: I’m gonna kill you

Speedy: he was showing me his special drop kick technique

Speedy: and the whole time I was thinking

Speedy: you know who would love this? knox

Drums: Knox just came barreling into the rec room shouting “I’LL show YOU a drop-kick technique!” and Speedy made a break for it. Not sure he’s gonna survive this one.

YES OMG OTL hot girl summer Riddle is something I never thought I’d see in canon, yet we are here and it’s wonderful!!! Grinding on his tummy or even running your hands over it, teasing his navel, complimenting him for how good he looks in that outfit even if he’s against showing so much skin. <3 he may think it’s against the rules and very unbecoming, but you think he’s the most attractive one on this beach, and when Riddle hears you say that it’s hard for him to think otherwise. Maybe it’s fine to show a little skin for the sake of this vacation—so he doesn’t get hot in non-summer clothes, he insists! After all, there aren’t many rules one must follow when on vacation. :)

It’s so weird for me now to look back on the Aphmau amino because it’s so fucking dead.

Like aphblr isn’t exactly the most inhabited space on the internet, but it’s been like this since I joined, I’ve come to enjoy the kind of closed off feeling I get from it. Like it’s our little corner of the internet and no one else’s.

But I remember the amino being so huge! Like of all of the aminos I used to be in it was the most active and people put so much time and effort into rps and posts and it was just so lively.

And now it’s… not.

No one I used to be friends with remains active and there’s like no way to find them, like no one to recount the good ol’ days with.

And like I hate that site with every fibre of my being, it ruined me, but I do miss some of the folks I used to talk to.

Itsumi is sooo fun. She thinks Yuichi is an idiot and is frankly astonished he's still alive and that he's lived so long(she admires him, his kindness and determination). She tolerates him as he loves and cares for all the neko ninja orphans as little sisters (he loves and cares for her). Just. She was snarky and bossy and disbelieving. And it could have just been she was a brat kid and/or a bully. Or. Or It could be that she was always trying to be the loudest among them, speaking up and speaking out to get all the attention on her, "Look at me, look only at me, pay attention to me, ignore them, leave the others alone, they are not worth your time, focus on me." And disbelieving how Hanna actually got out of the crew because she needs to nip false hope in the bud to avoid getting hurt. Because while the other kittens sometimes have a confused or concerned expression, she had an angry or sceptical one. And she was always in front while the others were at her side and a step behind. She needs to be on the lookout, she needs to guide and protect the others because who else will? And Yuichi got them out. Sure Chizu and the others helped but Yuichi gave them a home. Tells them the best napping spots. Will tell them to try and find his hidden comics on their own, but will give hints(that aren't so much so hints but their exact locations) if he feels like they might be struggling even though they very much are definitely not. Pats their heads. Calls them imouto. Lends them his old clothes, gives them his childhood toys. Became their big brother. Goofy and more childish than them sometimes, but a good and caring older brother nonetheless.

Going from living with Lady Fuwa to living with Auntie on the farm.... They were always kept in the dojo, and depending on how young they were taken in never even remembered or knew what the sky looks like, and then its shown in the show that because of the bright lights of Neo Edo you can't see the stars, and then their first night at the farm, still disbelieving that they're truly free, together in a room because there's no way they feel comfortable enough to separate, and then looking out a window and seeing a sky, blue, dark, and covered in stars.

Itsumi chose new clothes that were blue, and yes it was to copy Yuichi (she will forever deny that) but also because blue is the color of freedom, the color of the samurai who held out his hand and tried to teach them to be good, the color of the sky overhead as you realize you are free to rest your head and not worry about a demon in red coming for you and your sisters family comrades, just. Peace.

She'll never admit that though, it's more tactical now, she'll say. The blue blends in better with the night sky now that the lights are off.
