MG 00 Qan[t] officially 100% complete!

This is my longest MG project to date. Which lasted almost over a month. Though the building process took maybe a week or two, the long process was due to the days that I needed to topcoat and decal

While I did not use all of the custom decals (by Delphi). I did use most of them, primarily on the weapons or places that would stand out the most

I really like this build. Though it can be a little bit of a hand grenade when trying to attach the weapons on the hand tabs because some of the armour parts can fall off. But this is because I did not want to pull out any of the swords or GN Shield while trying to putt the weapons while it still has its load out attached. I did happen to do the GN Sword V and the bits as the last to decal and topcoat

Note that I did use Mr Hobby topcoat on this kit as it is the only topcoat available that can be used on ABS framed kits. If I used the Tamiya one then yeah…

Despite the flaws of an older kit. I had such fun with working on this kit. I really love the asymmetrical design of the Qan[t] and it’s basically the closest to the Exia in terms of main body design (I would get the 2009 MG but I would rather wait for a 2.0 of it anyway, don’t care how long it takes for Bandai to get their asses to do it lol). It’s has become one of my favourite MC Gundam designs, only behind the Wing Zero Custom, Aerial and Calibarn.

Will be doing these reviews more frequently soon since I will be speeding up my HG builds. Working my way up on MG kits and the next MG I’m planning is the Sandrock Armadillo unit.

BUT I won’t be working on that kit because I’ve been working on the Calibarn in conjunction with the Qan[t]. And I’m kind of pooped out having to work on a MG for 1 month. Once I’m done with my Calibarn and put a review on it, will be doing another HG next since I have bunch of HGs in the backlog I want to do.

Finished building 00, here he is next to Ilfrith (dont mind the mess in the background).

Building him was a lot similar and different from Ilfrith, obviously due to the fact he’s and MG and she’s HG-

I only lost a small piece on the arm and one or two green caps. It it was a pain in the ass to build some parts, almost broke the hands and decided to remove a small piece so it could fit better, broke a part of the sheild due to not having a part separator (I should buy one tbh-) and had to fix some od the chest pieces with clear tape because for some reason there’s no glue in my house.

A problem I encounter with my copy is that the upper body isn’t standing correctly. It’s probably just a defect but you can see he’s kinda sideways. Also some parts keep popping off (arms and V crest) which was pretty annoying.

Overall even tho somethings went “wrong” it was a fun experience, I’ll definitely need a part separator and glue in the future.

Man, imagine you're those PMC's with your normal mobile suits, you've seen Gundam's before so you think you know how bad it can get and all of a sudden you're dealing with a legit alien modified piece of tech. The GNT-0000 00 ELS Qan[T] is up there with Turn A, Unicorn, G-Self, and G-Lucifer in "things I'd hate to see coming at me as a mook on the battlefield".

Done building my first Real Grade gunpla. Why so many tiny pieces for my big meaty hands... My fingers hurt, my shoulders hurt, I spent four hours building it. And it look gorgeous ❤️

Time to watch SEED. Or 00. Or Tekketsu, cuz building the S1 Barbatos made me want to watch Tekketsu again, even tho I've rewatched it barely a month ago.

Anyways, I guess, no gunpla while I watch some familiar Gundam show for the nth time.

And also I think now I only have RG Exia and 00 Raiser to build for a while, so maybe I need to make them 'last longer'. I'm waiting for some other kits to be delivered from Japan (it still takes hella long), but I'm not sure how long exactly I'll have to wait for any of them. So if I want to get some new gunpla quickly, I'll have to raid the local 'anime' stores which aren't even guaranteed to have something I'd want to build. Aliexpress and other online stores like this that do have original genuine product but ship it from China are not really an option for me as the boxes get damaged too much and I've just been lucky with Justice and Qan[T] not having any parts broken.

what’s your favorite gundam series and/ or mobile suit (either from the series or separate)? Mine favorite’s 00 and the Exia is my babygirl but, as the name implies, I’m also very partial to the Jegans (and their big sisters the Jestas *drools*)

Jegan’s are such fun little suits bc of how easily they seem to be able to be customized (forever gr at Bandai for making the stark jegan p Bandai)

Fav series is Unicorn hands down bc Ive always been a sucker for Believe In Humanity stories. That and the technicals are all just Absolutely Spot On. I own like all 3 or 4 of the ost discs? Still forever sad Marida died tho. Big L.

So while Unicorn is DEFINITELY up there for my fav suit (I have the rg and mg ver ka and I still want the MGEX and pg) I still think the gen3 suits from 00 Awaken the Trailblazer are all Fucking great, Zabanya and 00 Qan[t] topping that list. Actually no Harute fucks absolutely raw so Harute too :3

HG 1/144 Gundam 00 Command Qan[T] Desert Type

A weekend project I completed on Sunday (That I bought on Saturday); I'm a big fan of the boxy, militaristic aesthetic that this builds on from the base kit's design, as well as the more unified desert colour scheme. (which is why I didn't pick up the previous version of the Command Qan[T])

This one was another partial paint project like the GNXIII, defining several sections on the armour with a grey made with H28 Metal Black (50%), H22 Grey (50%), and H1 White (Small dose/7 drops), and painting in several sensor sections on the head and throughout the body (following the colour instructions for "Metallic Red Sensor" in the kit's manual).

The paint chipping was achieved with drybrushing the light coloured sections with the remaining grey, then going over the dark grey sections with drybrushed silver.
