I have been able to find a good gif of the latter or clip of the former to properly compare, but today's Chimera!Falin scene reminded me of the end of GWitch Season One. Specifics below the cut, and obviously spoilers for Dungeon Meshi and The Witch From Mercury.

Not just the shock value, but also the childishness of it. The bounciness of Falin, and Suletta's cheerful "oh no you don't!". The way they both look right after - smiling, but threatening. The spray of blood. The way both kills look perfectly natural. The slow-motion and repeated shots.

You get what I'm saying?
