I know it's because there are height restrictions on buildings down here, but they really should have been given clearance to build the neck of the guitar. It should have been the penthouse suites. I'd never stay in a godawful place like this, but it's cool to look at whenever I drive up the turnpike.
Since this trip was definitely more on the low-key end, M had the thought to head down to Hollywood and visit our beloved Le Tub, since we had no idea when we might be in the neighborhood again. The food is so damn good, and I love sitting at the bar so I can get a bird’s-eye view of the chefs making their famous burgers which are huge and absolutely worth the hype. I personally love the addition of the shrimp cocktail to the menu, because the shrimp are cooked perfectly and served ice-cold, and I chased them with some chips, salsa, and queso because that was what was appealing to me at the time.
It was totally worth it, and this place is absolutely worth the visit if you’re in the area and want a low-key spot with solid food with great service.
Built in 1947, demolished in 2021. The former Marilyn Motel of Hollywood, Florida last operated as the Auberge Azure efficiency apartments before being razed.
