The fact this wasn’t in the Hamilton play hurts. Don’t get me wrong burn is good but first burn in my opinion is so much better I feel like more emotion was put into first burn.

So, the song Non-stop from Hamilton is one of my favorites for SO many reasons

The different stories! I love how this song portrays Ham going to school and the actual feud with burr beginning, the constitutional convention, Angelica leaving for London, Washington becoming prez, and the different song/story lines that flow from one to the other

This is the longest song in the musical and I think its fitting as it being the last song of act I

I love the court room scene, where it shows how Ham just yaps to yap and i love that for him

AND! still on the court scene, Ham and Burr were cocounseling about a murder trial and i feel like it eludes to how this is were Burr is kinda getting fed up with ham and its the like downhill of their relationship. Downhill starts and ends with murder 👍

I love the little burr moments. i love his songs in general, but the "why do you write like you're running out of time?"s are great and i love how Eliza revisits those at the end of the show but in a more gentler way

Burrs moments also seem to convey how he is jealous of Ham with the "Why do you assume you're the smartest in the room?"

Ok, so the musical nerd in me is coming out, but the amount of different musical motifs in this song is insane. We have Eliza's helpless and look around and would that be enough, Burr's wait for its, Angelica's he will never be satisfied, Washington's history has its eyes on you, and of course Ham's not throwing away my shot and the alexander hamiltons

I'm planning on posting more about this kinda stuff so get ready

also if hamilton were present-day i feel like ham and probably his gang would call burr a-a-ron

Hc that Hermes created the Lin Manuel persona as a joke but Hamilton was wildly successful so he just kept it up and Apollo is FURIOUS that a) he’s overstepped into his domain and b) he’s so damn GOOD at it (much to the chagrin of literally everyone)

It’s like the dam cow thing all over again, but this time instead of stealing fifty of his cows Hermes stole his bit.
