Hanalei Bay Sunset.

This artwork I made when I was around 14 shows a beautiful anthropomorphic fox lady relaxing with a tropic drink on the warm sands of Hanalei Bay on the Hawaiian Island of Kauai. This character is Zoe, an original furry character who is a secret agent living a glamorous globetrotting lifestyle. A pair of Kauai's iconic wild jungle fowl are also taking a romantic stroll along the beach at sunset. I used to live on Kauai and this was the view I saw from the living room windows.

[So I'm here in the town of Hanalei, which is in the North Shore of the island of Kauai, and it is a fearful thing to love what death can touch if it's funky, I'll find it? Wait till you hear this one.]

Sachi ended up staying in Hanalei for a week. She rented the most decent-looking cottage she could find and cooked her own simple meals. One way or another, she had to get her old self back again before returning to Japan. She bought a vinyl chair, sunglasses, a hat and sunscreen, and sat on the beach every day, watching the surfers. It rained a few times each day - violently, as if someone were tipping a huge bowl of water out of the sky. Autumn weather on the north shore of Kauai was unstable. When a downpour started, she would sit in her car, watching the rain. And when the rain let up, she would go out to sit on the beach again, watching the sea.

This is the Seafood Chowder from Kalypso, in Hanalei, Kawa'i Hawai'i! This was a solid 7/10, one of the most interesting things about this chowder is that aspects of its flavor reminded me of Manhattan clam chowder, but its texture and overall vibe was entirely New England clam chowder. Because it had fresh fish and shrimp, it was very hearty and it had a flavor entirely different to any other clam chowder I've had recently. Pretty good!!
