anyone know what the missing link could be between heinz edelmann and john alcorn? common influences? i suspect because they're both age of aquarius and the styles and subject matter become similar especially in iconographical illustration. any 70s afficionados?

Yellow Submarine art director Heinz Edelmann did a set of covers for a 1969 German edition of The Lord of the Rings. I tracked down decent scans of the first and the third, but there doesn’t seem to be a clean ‘Two Towers' scan online.
