Phia Saban gave a wrenching, powerful, heart-breaking performance as Helaena Targaryen, Aegon’s doomed, haunted queen and mother to his children.

this episode served prime helaegon failmarriage actually. both don‘t really know how to act around each other, it‘s like they don‘t even speak the same language. so much remains unspoken between them the tension is INSANE. i love his attempt to reassure her, even if it falls flat. his awkward reaction to her cryptic words… this is a daily occurrence.
and then you look at helaena and she‘s so disappointed. he doesn‘t understand her and she doesn‘t know how to make him understand. it‘s so tragic, they cannot help each other! they‘re headed towards a cliff and they cannot rely on each other!

The way she looks angry, disappointed with almost-clenched fists, girl was ready to throw hands for her husband. This gives me big sister energy about to slap a younger sibling for their stupidity. Also - she has a claim to be regent! She's the Queen!

I remember someone made a post that said Helaena had a cricket in those cages and named it Aegon, and I thought, what if it was Aegon's cricket that stopped singing?

SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT AEGON but that’s her husband.
SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT AEGON but that’s the father of her babies.
SAY WHAT YOU WANT ABOUT AEGON but helaena is his queen.
her confronting aemond couldn’t have been more perfect.
helaena is not one for big displays of emotion and she is a woman of few words, but we saw where she stands tonight regardless of whether or not aegon deserves her.
she is his wife.
she is his queen.
and the loss she has suffered comes from aemond alone. her baby boy was killed because he killed luke. her husband now lays half-alive in bed because of him. she watches him take and take and take from aegon— which means he takes and takes and takes from her with no remorse for it.
was it worth it?
aemond, was it worth it?
