Guys holy FUCK I can’t believe I’m saying this but Nimona might beat Wolfwalkers as my Favorite movie, Wolfwalkers is pure art that deserves to be praised for all of time but Nimona hits like a rino in every way you would want it to and I just- holy shit I just need a minute man.

Okay this is gonna sound silly and maybe even a little crazy but this new movie came out on Netflix not too long ago called Nimona. From what I gathered while watching the trailers, it was just about some misunderstood guy and a punk (possibly non-binary) shapeshifter. But when I actually watched it? Holy shit. Never in all my lives have I seen a more accurate representation of shapeshifters and how misunderstood we are.

If you wanna understand shapeshifters better or see a story like your own in a movie, then please watch it if you have access to it. I promise you won't regret it one bit, it's fucking phenomenal.

I know I probably sound like I'm sponsored by Netflix or something but I'm not, I'm just overjoyed a story like mine is out there in the top 10 of a popular streaming site.

okay, yup!

i understand the nimona hype, i am having Emotions-

all of the characters were so good???? like. all of them were well-written, even if the storyline is pretty simple but hey!!! a story doesn't need a lot of twists and turns to be amazing.

and we actually get complicated queer characters? who have a happy ending?? in a movie that seems to be doing amazing with how popular it is?? and maybe that's just tumblr, but like.

we've got nimona, who is definitely a trans allegory, or whatever specific type of gender queer you want to view her as (as a nonbinary person, i want her gender). and then bal and ambrosious had a very complicated relationship and their own arcs that drove the plot, and it wasn't just because they were queer, but because of moral conflicts and belief systems, and!!! we got to see them in a happy relationship before everything, and it's so important, especially when everything else goes to shit.

there is so much i wanna say about this movie and everyone's character arcs, and holy shit??? everyone had their own arcs that fit perfectly with everyone else's (ambrosious and ballister having their realizations about the institute in opposite ways is a Choice /pos) and aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.
