August 2018
It was one of those long, humid summer nights where sleep never came easy. Joe had spent hours tossing and turning in his bed, the pressure of the upcoming season gnawing at him even in the quiet of the night. His mind refused to shut off—thoughts of practice, plays, expectations swirling in his head.
He reached for his phone, his mind seeking some distraction. Scrolling through social media, he found himself aimlessly clicking through posts, stories, and memes. Nothing grabbed his attention. The cool light of the screen was a poor substitute for sleep, but he had long learned to accept this was his routine during stressful times.
After a while, he grew bored of the usual scroll and, half out of curiosity, he opened up a tab and began browsing mindlessly. Eventually, he clicked on a link that led him to a site he didn’t recognize—a cam site.
The page was filled with small video thumbnails, each representing a different live stream. Some showed girls pleasuring themselves, others performing various sexual acts, and others just chatting with their viewers. Joe scrolled through them, feeling a mix of curiosity and hesitation. He wasn’t really into this sort of thing, but something about the anonymity of it all piqued his interest.
He clicked on a stream that caught his eye. The girl on the screen was beautiful, with long brown hair and piercing green eyes. She was wearing a lacy white lingerie set that complemented her curves perfectly. She was sitting on a bed, facing the camera with a seductive smile.
“Hi there, handsome,” she purred, winking at the camera. “Welcome to my room. I hope you’re ready for a good time.”
Joe felt his heart rate increase as he watched her. He couldn’t believe how sexy she was. She started to tease him, slowly pulling down the straps of her lingerie and revealing her perfect breasts.
“Do you like what you see?” she asked, running her hands over her body. “I know you do. I can see it in your eyes.”
Joe felt himself getting hard as he watched her. She was so confident and sexy, and he couldn’t take his eyes off her. He reached down and started to stroke himself, matching the rhythm of her movements.
The girl on the screen noticed and smiled. “Oh, I see you’re enjoying yourself,” she said, her voice husky. “Why don’t you tell me what you want me to do?”
Joe hesitated for a moment, feeling a little embarrassed. But then he remembered that no one could see or hear him. He was completely anonymous. So, he decided to go for it.
“I want you to touch yourself,” he typed into the chat box. “Show me how you like it.”
The girl’s eyes lit up as she read the message. “Oh, I like a man who knows what he wants,” she said, biting her lip. “Watch closely, baby. I’m going to show you exactly how I like it.”
As Joe continued to explore the world of camming, he came across another stream that caught his attention. This one was different from the others. The screen showing a woman’s silhouette against a backdrop of soft lights and muted music.
The first thing Joe noticed was her voice—smooth and confident, laced with an almost hypnotic undertone. She was speaking to her viewers, chatting casually, but there was something different about the way she held herself, a control in her every word. She wasn’t showing her face, but the way she carried herself, the way she spoke—it felt like she had an invisible connection with everyone watching.
For reasons he couldn’t explain, Joe found himself mesmerized. The other streams were a blur in comparison. He couldn’t pull his eyes away.
There was a magnetic energy to her. She knew how to command attention, how to make even the smallest gesture seem deliberate. She wasn’t showing much—just a hint of skin here, a teasing smile there—but everything about her radiated power.
The girl on the screen wasn’t showing her face or much of her body. She was sitting in front of the camera, her long brown curly hair cascading over her shoulders. She was wearing a simple white tank top and shorts, but there was something about her that drew Joe in. He wanted to know more about her, to see what she looked like underneath her clothes.
As he watched, she slowly started to tease her audience. She lifted her tank top slightly, revealing a glimpse of her flat stomach. Then, she ran her hands through her hair, the movement causing her top to shift and reveal a hint of cleavage.
Joe felt himself growing hard again as he watched her. There was something incredibly sexy about her confidence and the way she moved. He couldn’t take his eyes off the screen.
“Do you want to see more?” she asked, looking directly into the camera. Her voice was soft, but it held a power that Joe couldn’t ignore.
He hesitated for a moment before typing a message into the chat. “Yes, I want to see everything.”
The girl smiled, a hint of mischief in her eyes. “Oh, I bet you do,” she said. “But you’ll have to wait. Good things come to those who wait, you know.”
Joe groaned in frustration, but he couldn’t help but be turned on by her teasing. He reached down and continued to stroke himself, his eyes glued to the screen. He couldn’t wait to see what she would do next. He had a feeling it would be worth the wait.
She wasn’t anything special in the traditional sense. She didn’t show any part of her body but a hint of a flat stomach and the bottom of her breast. She didn’t have to. The way she carried herself—the confidence she exuded with each movement—was enough. Joe found himself captivated, unable to look away even when he tried to convince himself he should leave. The other streams, with their explicit displays and desperate pleas for attention, felt cheap and vulgar in comparison. She was in control, and everyone knew it.
She never addressed Joe directly, but that didn’t matter. He felt seen, included in her world in a way that transcended the screen between them. He was part of an intimate group, united by their desire and their willingness to submit to her allure. It was a strange kind of connection, but it was undeniable.
As the night wore on, Joe became increasingly aware of his body’s reactions. He felt a stirring in his groin, a heat that spread through him as he watched her every move. It wasn’t just about the sexual tension; it was about the power she held over him, the way she could make him feel without even acknowledging his presence.
He tried to resist at first, telling himself he shouldn’t be affected by a stranger on the internet. But it was no use. She had a way of drawing him in, of making him forget everything else. All that mattered was the screen in front of him and the woman who commanded it with such grace and confidence.
As the minutes passed, Joe’s initial hesitation faded, replaced by an odd sense of curiosity. He didn’t know why, but he felt compelled to engage. Without thinking, he sent a tip through the stream, just a small amount.
There was no immediate response—at least not one he could see. But in his mind, it felt like a small act of connection. He had crossed a line, but it felt strangely satisfying.
And that was it. Just a small tip. But it became a routine. Every night, when the rest of the world was asleep and the dorms were quiet, Joe would slip into the cam site and find himself drawn to that same stream.
As the days went by, it became a habit. A late-night ritual. The nights grew longer, the season inching closer, but Joe’s curiosity about the girl on the screen didn’t wane. He didn’t know why, but something about her—her presence, her confidence—pulled him back, night after night.
She was a master of seduction, knowing exactly when to tease and when to reveal just enough to keep her viewers hooked. She had a way of making each person feel special, as if they were the only one watching, even though there were hundreds of others in the chat.
Despite the late hour, Joe couldn’t bring himself to look away. He was captivated by her, drawn into her world in a way he hadn’t experienced before. It was as if she had cast a spell over him, one that he had no desire to break.
As he sat there, watching her every move, Joe began to feel a familiar stirring. The girl on the screen seemed to know exactly what she was going to him, how she affected him.
She teases them, her viewers, by smiling at their increasing donations that are coming in. Even though they don’t see her face, they know she’s beautiful. She’s got to be.
Joe is still watching, unable to peel his eyes from the screen, as she begins to lift her tank top, revealing more of her skin. Her flat stomach comes into view, smooth and toned. She continues to raise the hem, and the bottom of her breasts becomes visible. Joe’s heart rate increases, and he feels a rush of adrenaline as he waits for more.
She pulls the top over her head, revealing a black lace bra that accentuates her curves. Her tits look perfect, and Joe can’t help but imagine what they would feel like in his hands. She plays with the straps of her bra, teasing her audience with the possibility of taking it off.
Joe is getting impatient, and he types into the chat, “Take it off.”
The girl looks directly into the camera, a smirk playing on her lips. “You want me to take it off, baby? What are you going to do for me?”
Joe hesitates, but then types, “I’ll tip you $20.”
She raises an eyebrow, considering his offer. “$20? That’s not enough, baby. I want more.”
Joe feels a surge of frustration. He wants to see her breasts so badly, and he’s willing to pay for it. He types, “How about $50?”
She smiles, seemingly pleased with his offer. “Now we’re talking, baby. But I want to make it interesting. If you want to see my tits, you have to earn it. Are you up for the challenge?”
Joe’s heart skips a beat. He’s not sure what she has in mind, but he’s willing to do anything to see her naked. He types, “Yes, I’m up for it.”
The girl smiles, a mischievous glint in her eye. “Good boy,” she purrs. “Here’s what you have to do. You’re going to edge yourself for me. You can stroke your cock, but you can’t cum until I give you permission. And if you cum without my permission, you have to pay a penalty. Are you willing to play by my rules?”
Joe feels a rush of excitement mixed with a little fear. He’s never done anything like this before, but the thought of pleasing this beautiful woman is too tempting to resist. He types, “Yes, let’s do it.”
She smiles again, looking pleased with his response. “Good boy. Now, stroke that hard cock of yours. I want to see how badly you want this.”
Joe feels his face flush with embarrassment, but he’s too turned on to care.
The girl gasps, “Oh my, you’re a big boy, aren’t you? I can’t wait to see what you can do with that thick cock of yours.”
Joe feels a surge of pride at her words. He starts to stroke his cock, slowly at first, savoring the feeling.
“Mmm, that’s it, baby,” she moans. “Stroke that big cock for me. Show me how much you want my tits.”
Joe obeys, increasing his pace as he watches her react to him. She starts to touch herself, running her hands over her curves as she imagines him pleasuring himself. Joe can see the outline of her panties under her shorts, and he longs to tear them off and fuck her senseless. But he knows he has to follow her rules if he wants to see her naked.
As Joe continues to edge himself, the girl starts to tease him more. She stands up and turns around, giving him a view of her perfect ass. She pulls down her shorts, revealing a black lace thong that leaves little to the imagination. Joe groans at the sight, his cock twitching with desire.
The girl looks over her shoulder, giving him a sly smile. “Like what you see, baby?” she asks, wiggling her ass at him. “Do you want to fuck me?”
Joe nods, unable to form words. He’s so turned on he can barely think straight.
The girl turns back around, facing the camera. She pulls her shorts back up, leaving Joe feeling frustrated and impatient.
“Don’t worry, baby,” she says, reading his mind. “You’ll get your chance to fuck me. But first, you have to prove that you can follow my instructions. Keep edging yourself for me. I want you to be desperate to cum by the time I let you.”
Joe nods again, feeling a mixture of anticipation and desperation. He continues to stroke his cock, trying to hold back his orgasm as long as possible.
“Good boy,” she says. “You’re doing so well. I think you’ve earned a reward.”
Joe looks at her hopefully, wondering what she has in mind. She smiles and reaches behind her back, unclasping her bra. She lets it fall to the ground, revealing her perfect breasts. Joe gasps at the sight, his cock throbbing with desire.
“Do you like them?” she asks, cupping her breasts in her hands. “They’re all yours, baby. You can look at them as long as you want.”
Joe nods, his eyes glued to her chest. He continues to stroke his cock as he drinks in the sight of her beautiful body. He can’t believe he gets to see her like this, and he feels grateful and lucky. The girl smiles at him, clearly enjoying his reaction.
After a few minutes, she says, “Alright, baby. It’s time for you to cum. You’ve been such a good boy, and you deserve it. Cum for me, baby. Show me how much you love my tits.”
Joe doesn’t need to be told twice. He strokes his cock faster, feeling his orgasm building. The girl watches him, biting her lip as she waits for him to cum.
Finally, Joe can’t hold it back anymore. He cums hard, shooting his load all over his stomach. He groans in pleasure, feeling relieved and satisfied. The girl smiles, looking pleased with herself.
“Good boy,” she says again. “You did so well. I’m proud of you.”
Joe feels a sense of accomplishment and pride. He’s never felt this way about a woman before, and he realizes that he’s falling for her. He wants to meet her in person, to touch her and kiss her and make love to her. He knows it might not be possible, but he can’t help how he feels.
The girl starts to put her clothes back on, and Joe feels a pang of disappointment. He doesn’t want this to end, doesn’t want to stop looking at her beautiful body.
“Thank you for joining me tonight. I had a lot of fun with you, and I hope you did too.” He can hear the smile in her voice as she reaches for her camera before turning it off. The screen goes black, and Joe is left alone with his thoughts.
He realizes that he doesn’t even know her name, doesn’t know anything about her other than what she’s shown him tonight. But he feels a connection with her that he can’t ignore. He closes his laptop, his mind racing with thoughts and fantasies. He never expected to find someone like her. But there she was, a faceless figure on the other side of the screen, and for some reason, she had captivated him. And just like that, he was hooked.
Joe woke up the next morning with a mixture of emotions swirling inside him. His encounter with the camgirl from the night before had left him feeling both exhilarated and confused. He couldn’t shake the image of her from his mind, the way she had commanded the screen with such confidence and grace.
For Joe, the beginning of the fall semester marked more than just the start of classes—it was the opening chapter of something larger, something heavier. With the football season looming, practices had intensified almost overnight. Each day brought more reps, more drills, and more time spent under the watchful eyes of the coaching staff. The Louisiana heat didn’t let up, and neither did the expectations.
Even as he adjusted to the rhythm of LSU’s football program—the cadence of the calls, the tempo of scrimmages, the unspoken hierarchy in the locker room—Joe felt a different kind of pressure simmering beneath the surface. The weight of proving himself. Not just as a quarterback, but as a leader. As someone worthy of the trust that came with the jersey.
Off the field, he was still finding his footing. Navigating the sprawling campus, learning the professors’ quirks, figuring out how to juggle team meetings with online quizzes and 8 a.m. lectures—it all felt like a constant balancing act. Amid the whirlwind, his dorm room in West Campus Apartments became more than just a place to sleep. It was a small, personal refuge. A quiet place where the noise dimmed—the noise of cleats on turf, of shouting coaches, of students rushing between classes—and he could finally exhale.
But college life had a way of creeping in, breaking down even the most determined walls.
It started subtly. A few nudges here and there from Ja'Marr and Justin—his go-to guys on the team, both charismatic, both effortlessly social. They weren’t just teammates; they were connectors, bridge-builders between the insulated world of college athletics and the broader, chaotic spectrum of student life.
“Come on, man,” Ja'Marr had said after practice one day, tossing a towel over his shoulder as they walked back to the locker room. “You can’t just hole up in your room all semester.”
“Exactly,” Justin chimed in, cracking open a bottle of water. “We’re not robots. You gotta unwind a little. It helps.”
Joe had shrugged at first, unconvinced. “I don’t know. I’ve got that film session tomorrow. And Coach Brady's gonna quiz us on protections again.”
Justin had laughed. “One night’s not gonna kill your GPA or your spot on the depth chart. Trust us.”
By the time the first week of classes wound down, their persistence paid off.
It was Friday afternoon, and the golden light slanting through the blinds in Joe’s room cast long shadows across his desk. His phone buzzed—a message from Justin.
"You coming with us tonight? Greek rush event. Should be fun," followed by a string of emojis: fire, beer mug, and a winking face.
Joe stared at the screen for a moment, his thumb hovering.
Greek life. The idea made him hesitate. Everything he knew about it came from over-the-top movie portrayals—red Solo cups, toga parties, chaotic chants—and none of it exactly screamed “relaxing evening.”
Still, something about it tugged at him. Maybe it was the curiosity. Or maybe it was the need to feel like a normal college kid for once, to blend into the crowd instead of always standing apart as the quarterback.
He sighed and leaned back on his bed, staring at the ceiling.
He could hear laughter echoing faintly from down the hall—someone had their door open, music playing low. There was a pulse to campus life now, a rhythm outside the weight room and playbook, and Joe knew he couldn't ignore it forever.
A few more seconds passed before he picked up his phone and typed out a reply.
“Yeah, I’ll go. Just tell me what to wear.”
Within seconds, Justin responded.
“Just be chill. Polo, jeans. You’ll be fine. We’re swinging by to grab you at 8.”
At 7:58, there was a knock on his door.
Joe opened it to find Ja'Marr in a fitted LSU polo and sneakers, leaning against the doorframe like he owned the place.
“Damn, look at you. You clean up alright,” Ja'Marr said with a grin. “Let’s go, Burrow. You’re about to see what LSU is really like.”
Justin appeared behind him, already scrolling through Spotify. “Got the aux. You’re riding with me. And no, you don’t get to pick the playlist.”
They laughed, and for the first time in days, Joe found himself genuinely smiling.
As they made their way across campus, music thumping in the car and windows cracked to let the thick night air in, Joe felt a flicker of something unexpected—relief. Maybe even excitement.
Tonight wasn’t about drills or depth charts.
Tonight was just about being twenty one, figuring things out one experience at a time.
And for now, that was enough.
It was just after eight when they pulled up to the Alpha Gamma Rho house. The old two-story sat at the edge of campus, partially hidden beneath a canopy of oaks, its wide porch glowing with a mix of string lights and flickering shadows. Music pulsed from inside—some blend of Top 40 and bass-heavy house—and the lawn was already dotted with clusters of students, their laughter loud and unfiltered in the warm Louisiana air.
Joe stepped out of the car, the door thunking shut behind him, and took it all in. The scent of beer and grass lingered in the breeze, and there was a restless energy in the air, the kind that felt like anything could happen.
“You good?” Justin asked, slinging an arm over Joe’s shoulder as they started toward the house.
“Yeah,” Joe said, though his voice was a little uncertain. “Just… taking it all in.”
Ja’Marr, walking ahead, glanced back over his shoulder with a grin. “You look like a freshman on his first night out.”
“I am a freshman,” Joe muttered.
“Exactly,” Ja’Marr shot back, laughing. “Act like it.”
The front porch was wide and creaked underfoot as they crossed it. Two girls sat on the railing, deep in conversation and sipping from Solo cups. One of them waved lazily at Justin as they passed, and he tossed a wink her way.
Inside, the house buzzed with movement. People stood shoulder to shoulder in the hallway, talking over the music and weaving around one another with practiced ease. The walls were lined with old photos and frat memorabilia—framed composite shots of past brothers, event posters, trophies half-forgotten in corners. The air was warm, filled with that distinct mix of cologne, perfume, and spilled drinks.
Joe stuck close behind Justin, who moved through the crowd like he belonged there—which, Joe realized, he probably did. Justin had that effortless social rhythm that some people just had, the kind of presence that made others turn when he walked in.
“Alright,” Justin said, glancing back. “There’s someone I want you to meet.”
They stepped into the living room, where a few couches had been pushed against the walls to make room for dancing and impromptu beer pong games. That’s when Joe saw her—standing near the base of the stairs, dressed in an oversized LSU hoodie, curly hair bouncing as she laughed at something a tall guy in a Omega shirt had just said.
“That’s Leilani,” Justin said, nodding in her direction.
“She plays volleyball?” Joe asked, already piecing together what little he’d heard.
“Yep. Outside hitter. She’s got a killer spike and a sharper tongue, so don’t get cute.”
Joe arched a brow. “Sounds like you’re speaking from experience.”
Justin smirked. “Man, I am the experience.”
As if on cue, Leilani spotted them and lit up. She cut through the crowd, her energy magnetic, drawing a few curious looks as she passed.
“There you are,” she said, pulling Justin into a quick hug before turning her attention to Joe. “So you’re the mysterious quarterback I keep hearing about.”
Joe offered a half-smile. “That depends—what exactly have you heard?”
“Just that you throw a tight spiral, don’t go out much, and might be allergic to fun,” she said, extending a hand, then quickly shifting it into a fist bump. “But I’m willing to let you prove me wrong.”
Joe laughed. “No pressure, right?”
“Not at all,” she said, eyes dancing. “Just your whole social reputation on the line.”
“Great,” he said, falling into step beside her as they moved toward the kitchen. “So what’s the initiation drink for a guy trying to not look like he wandered in by accident?”
Leilani tilted her head thoughtfully. As she led them through the kitchen, Joe glanced at Justin, who just shrugged and mouthed, Trust her.
The kitchen was a mess of half-empty bottles, melting ice in coolers, and a playlist that bounced between hype and nostalgia. Leilani moved confidently through the crowd, grabbing two clean cups from a stack on the counter.
“So,” she said over her shoulder, “first Greek event?”
“Yeah,” Joe admitted. “Is it that obvious?”
“You’re standing like you expect someone to throw a blitz package at you,” she said, pouring a drink and handing it to him. “Relax. No one's analyzing your footwork.”
He took the cup, smiling despite himself. “It’s not really my scene.”
Leilani leaned against the counter and took a sip of her own drink. “You’ll figure it out. You just need to find your people. Everyone’s awkward at first.”
Joe looked around—at the dancing, the noise, the chaos—and nodded. “This just feels so different from practice, meetings, all that. Like a different world.”
“It is,” she said. “And trust me, you need both. You burn out if you try to live only in one. This place”—she gestured around—“it's where people let their guard down. You’d be surprised how many captains, presidents, and high-GPA overachievers are in here doing the worm by midnight.”
He laughed. “So you’re saying I should loosen up.”
“I’m saying,” she replied, “you don’t have to be ‘the quarterback’ all the time. Tonight, you can just be Joe.”
As she poured a mix of something clear with a splash of cranberry, she glanced over at Joe. “So what made you come out tonight?”
He hesitated for a beat before answering. “I guess I wanted to see what college is really like, outside of practice and film sessions.”
She handed him the cup and leaned against the counter. “Let me guess—you’ve been eating, sleeping, and breathing football since the day you got here.”
“Pretty much since birth, if I’m being honest.”
Leilani took a sip from her own cup. “Well, this”—she gestured around them—“this is part of it too. Not just the games or the training rooms. It’s nights like this. Messy, loud, maybe a little overrated, but real.”
Joe nodded slowly, appreciating her honesty. “You sound like you’ve figured it out.”
She laughed. “God, no. I’m winging it like everyone else. But I’ve learned not to let the pressure eat me alive. You either find a way to be a person outside your sport… or you burn out fast.”
They stayed in the kitchen a while longer, talking in bursts between people dropping by to say hi to Leilani or ask for a drink recommendation. Joe found himself relaxing—actually relaxing—for the first time in weeks. She asked about Ohio, his classes, his music taste (which she called “questionable” when he admitted to liking early 2000s emo rock), and he learned that she was majoring in kinesiology, planning to go into sports therapy after graduation.
“Gotta keep athletes like you from falling apart,” she said with a smirk.
Later, when the party spilled onto the porch, Joe followed her and Justin outside, Solo cup in hand, sweat cooling on his neck. The porch was quieter now, the music muffled by walls and bodies. The playlist shifted to slow jams and throwbacks, and people drifted out to the porch or slumped onto couches. Joe found himself on the front steps, the wood warm beneath him, a gentle breeze tugging at his collar.
A few people lounged on the steps, passing a bag of chips around like it was contraband.
Leilani sat down on the top step, pulling Justin down beside her. Joe took the spot on her other side, stretching his legs out.
“Not bad for your first party,” she said.
“Still intact,” Joe said, lifting his cup in a mock-toast. “Thanks to you.”
Justin nudged him. “Told you she runs this place.”
“She does,” Joe said, watching the way she laughed at that, half-buried in Justin’s shoulder. And for the first time, he understood their rhythm. They were opposites, but solid. There was no flirtation, no tension. Just trust. She was the kind of person who knew exactly who she was—and made room for others to figure themselves out, too.
“So what’s next?” Joe asked.
Leilani glanced at him. “Next for what?”
“For this whole college thing. Football. Friends. Figuring it all out.”
She grinned. “You keep showing up. You keep asking questions. You keep saying yes to things that scare you a little. That’s pretty much it.”
Joe leaned back, letting her words sink in as the porch light flickered above them. It wasn’t the stadium, and it wasn’t the weight room. But maybe it mattered just as much.
Then, almost without thinking, he turned to her and asked, “So when’s your next volleyball game?”
She raised an eyebrow. “Coming to scout?”
“Coming to support,” he said, and meant it.
A slow smile spread across her face. “Wednesday. Six. Don’t be late.”
As the night wound down and the music faded into background noise, Joe leaned back on his hands and looked up at the stars.
He looked at Justin, then at Leilani, then out at the people dancing on the lawn like nothing outside this moment existed.
For the first time since arriving on campus, he didn’t feel like he was passing through someone else’s story.
He felt like he might be starting his own.

I have the fairphone 5, and for context I had been using iPhones for 15 years (a blackberry before that, a slide phone before that, a flip before that... Etc 😂). Honestly the transition from iPhone has been pretty smooth. The emojis all look different and it took a couple of weeks to get used to the differences from iOS to android, and the general feel of it as it's more plasticy than the iPhone, it did feel 'fake' at first (now the iPhone feels 'fake' lol). It also runs android so that's the bit that was the most culture shock but if you're moving on from a Samsung galaxy, I imagine it won't be too jarring. Fairphone in general seem like a nice company, I get emails sometimes about fun competitions and useful articles. One thing I really like is my notifications come up periodically as though they've just come through, so as someone who forgets to reply to people this is really useful and something none of my iPhones have ever done. It just runs like your typical smart phone and it's great. The camera quality is good, the speakers are good. Only downside to me is the battery does run down a lot faster with the way I use my phone, than the iPhone does (even after id had my iPhone a couple of years and the battery life went down). For example I have to have it charged at least 30% before I go to sleep as it runs down about 2% an hour with background activity (I have it on average recommended settings for battery life so apps and notifications can still work effectively), and if I'm asleep 8 hours it adds up - specially if, like me, you like to scroll for a bit in bed before falling asleep 😂. There's been a few times where I woke up to find the battery had run right down to 0. But if you have an in car charger you can keep it charged up when you're driving which is what I do, and there are those power packs you can get for keeping charged on the go. It doesn't come with a lead or plug, as they're trying to reduce waste, so either check if you have a usb a to usb c lead, or buy one. Just seen IKEA sell a cute looking yellow one for £1.50 which I'm tempted to get... Lol 😂 but you can buy these items from their website if you really need to (they have leads, plugs - UK and EU compatible but if you have an old iPhone one my us friends, you can plug your lead in to that - replacement screens, covers, batteries, cameras etc for a lot more affordable than iphone repairs, and you can do it yourself at home. I haven't had to yet so I can't comment on what home repairs are like, but I'm sure there are videos out there on YouTube. It looks fairly straight forward though). I was surprised to find I had the right charging lead already, and you might too. The packaging it comes in is minimal and recycled, which I loved. I did have to buy some usb c headphones though.
Lastly, I use my phone as a WiFi hotspot, which I'm still able to do (I did have difficulty getting my Polaroid TV to detect it at first, but that is probably an issue with my TV cause all my other devices found it just fine). I can still screen record, save tiktoks, use filters on my photos, use WhatsApp and other mainstream apps just the same as I've always done. The torch goes off automatically after about 4 to 5 minutes, and I don't think it can be changed. Not sure if it's cause I'm on battery save mode or not. One other thing is the photos app is a bit confusing as to where to find your videos and photos etc but I'm used to it now, and it might be similar to other android phones as it is Google Photos, and when you trim down a video I have no choice but to save the trimmed version as a copy so you have to be mindful of that and delete the original version, or it will use up a lot of storage pretty fast. Besides they really my only negative experience is how fast the battery goes down compared to the iPhone, but even then it's not too bad, and I get that it's because I almost constantly have the hotspot on and I use a lot of battery draining apps.
Hope this helps people. Any questions send me a message or ask 👍
So we all know that that there is no ethical consumption under capitalism, and to a certain extent, we have to acknowledge that our way of life is dependent on the suffering of others. Fortunately, it seems there are people who are pushing against that. If you're in the market for a new phone, I urge you to check out the Fairphone 4. It's made using ethically sourced materials and designed to be modular, so you can make repairs at home- which means if you crack your screen, or the battery stops working, you don't have to buy a whole new phone. I know the world is becoming more and more aware of the horrific conditions being suffered by people in places like DRC to make our smart devices. You can use your buying power to make a change.
I am personally not in the market for a new phone just yet, but if you are looking to get a new phone, I encourage you to look into ethically sourced phones and other tech. If you already have a Fairphone, please reblog this and talk about your experience. Be honest. Give the pros and cons so people can make informed decisions. We can't immediately stop all of the horrors that capitalism has brought on the world, but we have the power to make smaller choices where we can to mitigate the harm done.
Fairphone's main company seems to operate in Europe (website here), but if you are looking to buy in the US and Canada, check out their partner site, Murena (website here).

Instagram Video Downloader: The Ultimate Tool for Saving Videos
In today’s digital era, Instagram has become a hub for captivating videos, from travel clips and workout routines to funny reels and inspirational stories. While scrolling, you might often come across a video you’d love to save or watch offline later. That’s where an Instagram video downloader comes in handy.
What is an Instagram Video Downloader?
An Instagram video downloader is an online tool or app designed to help users download videos directly from Instagram. These tools allow you to save videos from posts, reels, IGTV, and stories without taking screenshots or using screen recorders. With just a few clicks, you can download high-quality videos to your device and access them anytime—even without internet access.
Why Use an Instagram Video Downloader?
There are several practical reasons to use an Instagram video downloader:
Offline Viewing: Whether you're traveling or in a place with limited internet access, downloaded videos can be watched anytime.
Content Backup: Creators can use downloaders to keep a backup of their own videos.
Reposting: While reposting should always credit the original creator, downloaders make it easier to re-share useful or inspirational content.
Educational Use: Many Instagram users share tutorials and how-to videos. Downloading them allows for easier reference and learning.
How to Use an Instagram Video Downloader
Using an Instagram video downloader is usually simple and user-friendly. Here’s a general step-by-step guide:
Find the Video: Open Instagram and go to the video you want to download.
Copy the Link: Tap on the three-dot menu icon on the post and select “Copy Link.”
Paste the Link: Go to your preferred Instagram video downloader website or app and paste the link into the provided field.
Download the Video: Click on the download button, choose the desired quality (if available), and the video will be saved to your device.
Most downloaders are free and do not require any registration or installation. However, make sure you use reliable and safe platforms to avoid malware or spam.
Features to Look For in an Instagram Video Downloader
Not all downloaders are created equal. When choosing one, consider these features:
No Watermark: A good downloader should save the original video without adding any branding or watermark.
Multiple Formats: Look for tools that offer video downloads in various formats and resolutions.
Mobile-Friendly: A responsive design that works smoothly on smartphones is a big plus.
Fast & Secure: The downloader should provide quick downloads and maintain your privacy without unnecessary ads or pop-ups.
Legal and Ethical Considerations
While Instagram video downloaders are helpful, it’s important to use them ethically. Always respect the copyright and intellectual property rights of content creators. If you’re downloading someone else’s video for reposting, make sure to give proper credit or get permission.
Instagram’s own policies prohibit unauthorized use of content, so it’s best to use downloaders responsibly—especially if you’re using the content for commercial purposes.
Conclusion
An Instagram video downloader is a powerful and convenient tool for saving videos to your device. Whether you want to watch your favorite reels offline or archive your own content, these downloaders make the process seamless. Just remember to use them ethically and choose trustworthy platforms to ensure a safe and smooth experience.

Antivirus - Chapter 2
TW: None Chapter 1 here Ao3 link If you like this, please leave a like, reblog, or send me an ask! It encourages me so much.
He blew the smoke from his mouth around the cigarette, the morning sun catching all the particles as they floated into the air. Tim drew the J on top of the fresh carton and dropped the pen onto the dashboard. Pulling the cigarette from his mouth, he drew in a deep breath of fresh air, fresh as you could get at a gas station by a highway. Looking around the parking lot, at the people filing in and out, he shook his head and gave a wry smile. Hard not to be in a good mood when you got some decent sleep for once.
Becca and Lukas were okay. Lukas's leg had been taken care of, and the two had set back off for Idaho, back to the families that loved them. Another success case for Timothy Kane. Another group of people adding to the myth of his existence. Seemed like every month there were more of them. The Operator never tired. The sickness never eased. In fact, it only grew worse.
But like hell was he going to start off a good morning with that depressing shit. He'd gotten paid, gotten rest, and he'd found out where the nearest library was with free internet. He was not going to let a rare moment of peace escape him. He'd lost too much for that.
The library wasn't far away from the gas station he'd refilled at. By the time he pulled into the parking lot, it was open, as were the windows on the front of the building. He spoke briefly to the clerk at the front desk, making sure he understood their internet rules and that it was okay for him to bring in his thermos of coffee, before finding a convenient spot by a power outlet.
His laptop was getting old, it took a while for it to boot up. As Tim waited, he thumbed through a newspaper. Experts predicting a war with China for the third time in as many years, conflict in the Middle East, the royal family in Britain getting roped into some scandal or another. That was why he didn't read the news much, it was always the same. By the time he got to the comics (never his favorite part of the newspaper), his laptop had finished, and Tim traded the two without a second thought.
He could and did check his email on his phone but he was old-fashioned and preferred to use his laptop when he had the chance. Earlier Becca's mother replied to his report about her daughter returning home, a message he'd saved in a special folder he looked at when he felt particularly shitty.
Another email was waiting for him now, from a 'Meridith Frederickson'. Another client, looking for her son and his missing best friend. He replied to that one, offering to schedule a Zoom meeting later that same day. By now he knew all too well what happened if he wasn't on top of his cases.
And of course, he had new messages in the spam folder. Tim glanced over the subjects of the emails without opening any of them. Some didn't have any, but most were vaguely threatening, the kind he usually got from trolls and kids. 'Always watching', 'there's no escape', 'how could you', and on and on and on. People thought they could get a rise out of him by acting like totheark, but none of them even came close to what Brian had been all those years ago.
Tim glanced at the tab next to his email, frowning. There was no sense in trying to put it off, even if he hated doing it. Everything on that site made him feel worse, and today had been a pretty good day. But if he didn't look, he'd regret it later, falling into a rabbit hole of updates that was guaranteed to fuck him over. So he opened YouTube.
The videos were taken down years ago, the channels involved with Marble Hornets wiped from the website. But that didn't mean they were gone, just hidden away on Google Drives and shock sites. What was on YouTube was... the fandom.
It made his skin crawl thinking about it. People from all over the world were obsessed with what he and Jay had been through. He'd seen hundreds of articles about the videos, from five minute listicles to long analysises about the events and the people involved. He'd seen other things, too, things he'd rather not remember. Like the fanart...
Out of everything, though, it was the YouTube community that unsettled him the most. The passionate, wide eyed college kids. The naive high schoolers. The older people, with their backgrounds in criminal science and forensics and cryptids and God knew what else. They picked over the videos and tweets and codes like vultures at a pile of bones. Like it was just a fictional web series, like people he knew and once liked weren't dead. And they spread the disease. It didn't take all of them, leaving the YouTubers alone, but claiming their followers. It made him sick thinking about all the people he couldn't save, the people who had no one left to try and find them, the people who vanished into Rosswood Park and were never seen again. It made him sick, watching these ignorant people talk about his pain as if they were all insects under microscopes.
But if he didn't pay attention, who knew what might happen. The Operator was watching all of them. One slip up was all it took.
He scrolled through both the front page and his subscriptions. The videos were, in the end, all the same. Speculation, discussion, analyzation. Some of them he could watch later. Others needed his attention now.
Tim’s eyes landed on a video, and his heart clenched. The Neophyte was streaming again.
The still image didn’t show much. Neophyte_Calling didn’t put much work into his channel. It was just a shot of what the streams normally showed, pale, unkempt hands poking free from black robes, resting on an old plastic table. That was what he expected to find once he opened the stream.
And he’d be correct, that was what awaited him once he got the courage to click. The hands twitched and clenched and dug at the table. It wasn’t the hands that were special though, it was what the owner of those hands were saying.
“Autumn after firestorm, the nights don’t listen and the butter is on the corn. Ten days or twenty paces of living guts wrapped around an old man’s neck. The water comes up to your waist but you don’t feel the attitude of denial inside the bastard daughter’s heart. Oh, god, eureka, industry was never so smooth…”
Complete nonsense. The ramblings of a man on some kind of drug, or lost to some unknown mental illness. Despite this, the chat flooded with messages. Donations popped up occasionally, attempts to get the Neophyte’s attention. He didn’t notice. He never noticed. He just kept talking. And he would keep talking until the stream ended on its own, or he passed out on the table.
People called him a prophet. Claimed every word he spoke had a double, or even a triple, meaning. They recorded every word he said and discussed them among themselves, coming up with ‘translations’ for his maddening dialogue. And to be fair, they could have a point. Sometimes, what the Neophyte said did seem to foretell events that happened not long after he spoke them. But the god the Neophyte channeled was not one Tim would ever ask someone to worship.
Silence. The man stopped talking, his fidgeting hands resting flat on the table. Dread filled Tim’s body. Speak of the devil, he was doing this again?
The Neophyte spoke again, his voice deeper now. The words came clumsy from his mouth, uncomfortable, heavy, as if he had never spoken before. The emphasis, the tone, it was all wrong. Tim had no trouble understanding them, however.
“You always fight,” It said through the Neophyte’s mouth. “You always resist. You tire, and exhaust, and fall. You continue to fight despite.”
The robes shifted, the head hidden from the camera’s view tilting.
“Tim,” It said. “You are a grain of sand. I am eternal. I am here. I will always be here. You understand. You continue despite.”
On the side of the screen, the chat surged with messages. It raced so quickly, Tim couldn’t have read any of them even if he tried. He didn’t look away from the livestream.
“Tim,” It said again. “Enough. You have fought hard. You are getting old. That’s enough. It’s time to come home. To us. To all of us.”
The hair stood up on his arms, on the back of Tim’s neck. He shuddered.
“Like hell,” he whispered, and closed the tab.
But even though he closed the livestream, he could swear he heard the Neophyte, the thing puppeting him, whisper in his mind.
“Coward.”
When 2pm rolled around, Tim was back in his van in the library parking lot. Obviously he couldn’t do a Zoom call inside the quiet space, but their internet reached well past the parking lot. He sat on his bed, now folded up like a couch inside the converted van he lived in. His laptop open before him, the program open and ready. Now he just had to wait for her.
Hard to say what this Meredith Fredrickson would expect a private investigator like him to look like, but Tim did his best to look presentable anyway. Hair combed, beard trimmed, leather jacket kept to the side out of her line of sight - leather jackets weren’t worn by authority figures, and that was what he was trying to be right now. Not anyone could do this job, but who’s to say she knew that? If she didn’t like the way he looked, she could try to find someone else to find her son and his friend. And if she did that, by the time she realized only Tim could help her, it would be too late.
Thinking about it that way made him shudder.
Of course, while he was prepared to deal with what she thought he would look like, he wasn’t as ready for what she herself would look like. As the call began, and Meredith’s face came on screen, Tim hesitated. He looked at her closely again. Had he seen this woman before?
“Good afternoon, Mrs. Fredrickson,” He greeted.
The woman shook her head, her curly brown hair tossing around her slim shoulders.
“Meredith is fine,” she said. “I haven’t been called ‘Mrs’ since my husband died. I changed back to my maiden name - my son’s last name will be his, not mine.”
“Of course,” Tim said. Odd information to include, but people tended to ramble when they were nervous.
He looked at her again, at the frown lines developing around her lips, and the worry and pain in her wide-set eyes. Behind her was a normal looking home, a few windows with pale curtains, a kitchen kept clean from what little he saw. Something was nagging at him. What was it?
“Did you fill out the information packet I requested?” He asked.
Meredith nodded.
“Yes.”
The file appeared, Tim half-listening to her as he opened it.
“I know this is a very strange thing to ask from you,” Meredith said. “But circumstances have changed in a way I really didn’t expect. I know it’s hard to believe that after ten years my son could be alive, but I don’t have any other explanation for…”
She trailed off. Tim didn’t look away from the document she’d sent. The names written on the very first line.
Missing People: Jay Merrick and Alex Kralie
Motherfucker, had he been tricked?
Tim shot the woman a sharp glance, examining her expression in seconds. She was not the first person to ask him to track down Jay and Alex, but she was the first he hadn’t screened out before it got this far. Most people were upfront about their intentions, or were obviously trolling, or he otherwise got weird vibes from them. This Meredith had slipped him by, and wasted his time in the process.
“He is my son,” Meredith said. “I’ve included his birth certificate, since I thought you might not believe me.”
“I don’t need it.” A birth certificate? Those weren’t easy to fake, but Tim was no expert on Photoshop either.
“I would’ve included Alex’s, too,” Meredith continued. “After all the years he and Jay knew each other, you would’ve thought I’d have it too.” She laughed, and there was pain within it. “But his parents died in a car accident about six years back, and…”
“Wait.” Tim refocused. “Alex and Jay knew each other?”
“Since the first year of middle school,” Meredith said with a nod. “I have a lot of photos of them. You know, Jay went through a phase, where he wore all black, and listened to rock music with singers I couldn’t understand. He got a tattoo of one of the bands on his ankle behind my back. I was so angry...”
She laughed again, and her eyes went distant. Tim stared at her, his mind flashing back to all the conversations he’d had with Jay, things that didn’t go into the videos. Being Alex’s childhood friend, since middle school - the phases he went through as a teen - that damn tattoo he was so embarrassed of. None of these were known by the fandom.
Oh god, this woman was the real deal. Even her face, now that he looked at her, was just like Jay’s. The distant look in her eyes as she thought… Jay got that same expression.
“Meredith,” he said, his voice softer, kinder. “Do you know about Marble Hornets?”
“I can’t bring myself to watch them,” she said. Meredith folded her hands together. “But I know what… what was shown on the videos. I know that they are…” She swallowed. “Considered dead by most people. I was one of them.”
His gut twisted. By most people, including her. “But something… changed.”
“Yes.” She took a deep breath, and moved to wipe her eyes. “I got a package in the mail about a week ago. Inside was a flashdrive and a few printed photos. It had been placed in my mailbox - I don’t know who sent it.”
Oh no, Tim thought. Not this again. Please, don’t play this game with people again.
“What were the photos?” He asked, aware of the sound of his own voice more than anything else.
“I’ve included most of them in the document,” Meredith said. “I… I still can’t believe what I’ve seen, but… But they don’t look like they could’ve been faked.”
Dread pressed down on his shoulders. Dread and something else, some kind of energy buzzing through his nerves. Tim looked at the document, scrolled down, and opened the photos.
Some were blurry, taken from a distance and zoomed in before being printed. Some were clear as glass. It took him several seconds to process what he was seeing, what the subjects of the photos were. Tim blinked, looked again, and his pulse quickened.
Alex, standing on a street corner, gray in his hair, exhaustion on his face. Jay in a dark cloth jacket with a hood, looking over his shoulders. Alex, and Jay, Alex, and Jay, in all the photos, in every single one. The clothes were different, the faces aged, but there was no denying what he was seeing, and like Meredith said, no way to fake what he was looking at.
“Oh my god,” Tim mumbled.
Jay and Alex were alive.

How to gif without photoshop (second method)
Hello! A couple months ago I made a tutorial on how to gif without photoshop using the website ezgif. I got a really great response for it and received some requests for the other giffing program I use when I don’t have access to photoshop. The program is called instagiffer; this is a software so it needs to be downloaded but I have never had any trouble with my version.
Warning that this is VERY text and image heavy because I know how frustrating it can be when a tutorial feels like it’s skipping steps and I want this to be as clear as possible. Also please read this on desktop, tumblr mobile kills the quality of gifs inside text posts.
Please reblog if you found this helpful!
This is the video I will be giffing and here is the gif I will be making!
Tumblr media
What you need:
Instagiffer
This program has been around since 2013 and I have used it since 2016. Unfortunately, it hasn’t been updated since 2016 and the download link on the official website is broken. That being said, there are a few other websites that still have a working download, which is what I linked to above.
ezgif
Although we aren’t going to use this website to make the gif, we are going to use it to add more color and brightness to the gif.
A video downloader
This is the video downloader I use but basically any youtube/video download website works. There are two ways to gif on instagiffer; using a video and using the built in screen recorder. I will show you how to use both.
A video to gif
This program is a lot more forgiving about video quality than ezgif is, but for best results 720p or 1080p is still the standard. Scenes with good lighting and bright colors turn out the best, but you can still make good looking gifs from darker or unsaturated scenes if you know what you’re doing.
1. Making a gif with a downloaded video
 Step One: Getting the frames
First, you download the video you want to gif. Then you open up instagiffer and click on “load video.” Scroll down until you find the video you want to gif and click on it.
Tumblr media
The video will appear on the screen in the right hand side. Go ahead and put “smoothness” up as high as it can go. This increases the frames per second and makes the gif look smoother. It also makes the gif longer, so you may have to bring it down later so it doesn’t go over tumblr’s size limit, but I always start as high as possible then work down.
Next, find the moment in the video you want to gif. You can either use the sliding bar or just type in the start time (you can use hours, minutes, seconds, and millisecond). You also want to put how long the clip you want to gif is. 3 seconds is the default but I usually bump it up to at least 4 (unless I know it’s a really short clip) just because it’s a lot easier to delete frames than add them.
Tumblr media
If you do this, you’ll quickly realize your gif has extra frames that appear slightly before and slightly after the moment you want to gif. It’s really easy to get rid of those frames; just click on them until you only see the frames you want in the gif. Use the scroll bar at the bottom of the gif to move around the frames, and use it to make sure the only thing on screen is the clip you want included in the gif.
Tumblr media
Step Two: Resize the gif, brighten the gif, change the speed and add captions
Now, it’s time to size, brighten, and color your gif! First look at the “frame size” option. Using the correct gif size for tumblr is one of the easiest ways to make sure the gif looks good. For gifs that take up a whole row, the size should be 540p wide. For two gifs in one row, the size is 268p each. For three gifs in one row, the sizes are 177p, 178p, and 177p in that order. Here is a visual of it.  You can see what the width/height of the gif is in the bottom right hand corner of the gif screen. I am making this gif 268p. Get the frame size as close to the width you want as possible; right now, it is 269x151. To get it down to 268 exactly, go up to the top of the program, click on “frame” > “manual crop”. This little box will pop up. Just set the width to 268 and make sure the size is listed as 268 under the gif as well. The height can stay the same.
Tumblr media
Keep quality up to 100 obviously. I almost always brighten by 2. Unless you’re giffing something with a huge spot of light, 2 is basically standard. Going up any higher usually makes the gif just look grainy, but if the scene is REALLY badly lit, you can go up to 3. Playback rate is usually -1, just to make the gif look smoother. Unless it’s a super long gif or a super short gif, I don’t mess with it further.
Tumblr media
Captions are obviously optional but if you want to add one, click on “click here to add a new caption.” A box will pop up with options of how you want the text to look. I only use this to “caption” gifs (aka add dialogue). The settings I use are 12pt font, calibri, white, bold italic, bottom of gif, outline up to 3. You can also chose what frame you want the caption to start/end on if you want. Since this gif doesn’t have talking, I’m not going to include the caption in the final gif, but I wanted to show how to use this function.
Tumblr media
Step Three: Color the gif
There are two parts to this. The first place I color the gif is on instagiffer, and then I use ezgif to add more effects. The second part is totally optional but they have more choices for coloring there.
Click on the “open effects panel”. A window will open showing what the gif currently looks like, along with a variety of filters you can use. Ignore how grainy it looks, it won’t look that way when it’s finished.
Tumblr media
First thing is keep “enhance” up to 100. This is basically a sharpening function and without it the gif will get super blurry. There are a ton of filters you can play around with, but the only two I focus on usually are “color fade” and “colorize.” For color fade, I click it on and set it at 10. Obviously, if you’re trying to make a desaturated gifset, you can raise it up for a faded color effect, but I use it more for color balance than desaturation. Next click on colorize, and then color picker.
I almost always pick a light shade of blue, purple or pink; it brings out the color in the gif and tends to keep skin tones from being washed out. This is usually my default:
Tumblr media
Then, I bring the “colorize” option down to 90 to increase the effects of shadows.
Tumblr media
Last thing to do is click create gif! It’ll take a few seconds, especially for longer gifs, so be patient. ALSO there is a good chance you’re going to get a message saying something to the effect of “this gif is too big for tumblr’s photo limit.” Feel free to ignore that; the software being old means it still has the photo limit as 2gb when now it is 5-6gb so almost any gif you make will be considered “too big.”
Your gif now shows up in a preview tab! It should also show up as a file labeled “insta” on your desktop.
Tumblr media
Here is the gif so far.
Tumblr media
You can end here if you want. But when using instagiffer, I always go to ezgif to brighten up the colors further.
This part is basically the same as how you would color a gif you made in ezgif (see this tutorial) but I’ll quickly walk through what I do.
Go to ezgif.com/effects. Click chose file and upload your gif. First, you’re going to want to up the saturation, brightness, and contrast. You have to play around with these functions a lot because every scene is different, but in general, I have my saturation up pretty high and my brightness and contrast at at least 8. For a scene as dark and desaturated as this, I put saturation at 200, brightness at 12, and contrast at 16.
Tumblr media
Afterwards, you want to go down to “color presets” and select “tint.” In my other tutorial, I recommended tinting with a light red or light blue, but for gifs made on instagiffer, I tend to use a light yellow/gold. I already tinted the gif purple in instagiffer so adding yellow in ezgif tends to balance it out. The shade I used for this gif is #fffcf0.
Tumblr media
If the gif ends up looking too yellow, either decrease saturation, or click the “effects” button under the gif and add a layer of light purple to balance the colors more.
Your final gif should look like this.
Tumblr media
2. Making a gif with the “capture screen” feature
This only changes the method of how you get gif frames. Everything related to resizing, coloring/effects, and adding captions is the same as above.
What if you don’t have a download of the thing you want to gif? The great thing about instagiffer is it has a built in screen recorder so you can gif any video you want, even if you can’t download it (or if you’re like me and don’t want to deal with downloading a 45 minute episode of something just to gif one scene).
To use this tool, click on the “capture screen” button on the top right corner next to “load video.” Then this screen will pop up.
Tumblr media
You’re going to want to take this blue screen over to the screen you want to capture. I’m going to put it over the youtube video I am giffing. Adjust it so the only thing it’s focused on is the video and set the length in seconds. I usually set it for longer than the clip is just because it’s easier to remove extra frames than rerecord a scene. There is also sometimes a lag so starting it right before the scene you want to gif helps with that. For example, if the clip I’m giffing is 3 seconds long, I set it to 3.5. Then start running the video and click “start” on the screen!
Tumblr media
Your frames will now show up on instagiffer. Everything is the same, except you can’t change the frame rate or timing. Go ahead and delete frames that you don’t need by clicking on them. After that, just use the same resizing, and coloring method I outlined above.
Tumblr media
Some notes:
When using the video download option, the effects you use will save, as will the size of the gif. So if you gif one part of a video, then move the time stamp to another part, it will stay in whatever size you put the gif as. However, when using screen capture, you have to resize the gif and go to the effects menu each time because they reset after each use of the screen recorder.
You can also just paste a youtube link into the white bar at the top of instagiffer to gif it, but I’ve found that the quality is much better if you download or use the capture screen.
To crop a gif, move the red box around (just make sure it stays the right width size!)
Tumblr media
If you are using the screen recorder and only want to record part of the video (like just a characters outfit) size the gif recorder so it’s just surrounding the part of the video you want to see.
Tumblr media
I hope this made sense lol, it took me a few days to write it all so please let me know if you have questions or need anything clarified! Support me on Ko-Fi if you’d like and are able 💕💕💕

Frozen North ~ Night Three
Tumblr media
PAIRING: Chanyeol x reader
GENRE: Horror/Suspense/SPOOP in general/light romance (because who else would I be?)
WORD COUNT: 2,160
RATING: PG13 (nothing gruesome, but knowing me there will be swearing)
SUMMARY: You run a late night radio show dedicated to telling scary stories and urban legends, the creepier the better. Listeners call in and share their own, creating a small but loyal community of folks like you who love this sort of thing. One night, a man calls in with what sounds like an all-too-real story and before you know it, you’ll do anything to make sure he’s safe.
Frozen North Masterlist
Tumblr media
‘I don’t like this,’ Daniel says, coming into the booth with his bag slung over his shoulder. ‘Shit like this gives me the heebie jeebies.’
You stare at the number on the screen, running an anxious hand through your hair. ‘I don’t like it either. Something is seriously wrong here.’
He folds his arms and leans against the door frame. ‘And you’re sure this isn’t some stunt?’
Your eyes widen at his insinuation. ‘Do you think I’m doing this?’
Daniel sags with relief, awkwardly coughing. ‘No, I just- I’m glad you said it’s not you but… would have been nice if this was all some game.’
‘Yeah, it would have been.’ You stand and quickly close down your station. ‘I don’t think it is.’
He shuts off the studio lights, holding the door open for you. There’s a hauntedness behind his eyes that makes you shiver in the darkness.
‘Me neither.’
When you get home the first thing you do is find food to shove in your face. The life of a grad student isn’t the most glamorous, but you make the most of it. Normally you try and cook a balanced meal, even though you get home so late. But tonight you grab a pack of mini muffins and pull out your laptop.
You need answers, and you won’t sleep until you find them.
Grabbing your phone, you shove a muffin in your mouth and text the number, trying not to feel like you’re slowly going insane.
Y/N 12:31 AM: Chanyeol? If you’re there can you please tell me if you’re alright?
While you wait, you email yourself the photo from his FaceTime call. A reverse image search turns up nothing and you frown. Searching the most obvious place, you type his name into the advanced search on Facebook. 'Chanyeol’ garners 526 results. None of the first dozen or so listings look like him. You try to search Alaska but it brings up two profiles with default Facebook anonymous photos.
Frowning, you bite your lip. Instinct makes you type in ‘Seattle’ and instantly his profile comes up. You gasp and almost upend your laptop onto the floor, narrowly catching it with your quick reflexes.
His profile is set to private. ‘Dammit.’
It doesn’t give you much. A high school in Redmond, Washington. It says he attends the University of Washington too. Once for undergrad and now for grad school. No indication of years attended or major studied. No job listed. No friends list to dig through. The void of information makes you ache.
But it does give you one key thing - his last name. Park.
In under a minute you have his instagram profile pulled up. loey61.
It’s absolutely him. Gone are the fear and exhaustion from his face, he looks so real and alive and energetic in his photos he reminds you of the sun. As you scroll through his feed your heart squeezes insistently in your chest. His smile dominates his face, crinkles forming at the corners of his eyes as he laughs in photos.
Videos taken with a shaky hand at concerts. Sleepy selfies with his hand on his chin and his hair a mess of odd angles. Photos from a weeklong trip he took to Japan last year.
It feels as though you know him, but you’ve never met; you’d have remembered the man with brown eyes and a voice like a roll of thunder.
The bars he goes to with his friends are the same ones you frequent with your friends from school, with people from the station. He has no less than ten photos over the past few years of Suzallo library - the stained glass and the soaring Gothic architecture that surrounds your favorite study spot.
How have we been orbiting each other for years and never met? From his captions you gather he’s studying the anthropology of music. The buildings are right across from each other on campus. You frown and chew on the inside of your cheek. So strange.
Rallying your mind, you click on his most recent photo, dated a week ago. A photobooth photo, if you had to guess, of him in his bedroom playing the guitar, a pick between his teeth. The caption is the guitar emoji and the dancing man emoji.
The comments are what worry you.
Hey Chan, where are you? You missed my gig Monday at Showbox, what gives?
Helloooooo are you alive? Did Radiohead call you to tour and you’ve abandoned us?
Yo what time are we meeting for that study group on Thursday i totally forgot to write it down hahaha
Mom’s getting worried C, why aren’t you answering your phone?
The last comment catches your attention and you click on the profile.
The family resemblance is uncanny, and the photo of the two of them from Christmas wearing matching reindeer antlers confirms it. With a shaky hand you click on the message button. ‘Shit, what do I say?’
You decide to just be straight with it. I think we should talk. My name is Y/N and I’m a radio host in Seattle. I think your brother has been calling in. Unless he’s the kind of person to pull some kind of crazy prank, I think he’s in danger. My number is 206-972-6347 if you prefer to text me. The show is The Long Night on 107.9 KJWZ and he’s called in the last two nights. The recordings should be up on our website.
It’s 1:57 AM at this point, so you don’t expect a response. There’s not much else you can do at the moment, so after dragging yourself through your nighttime routine you crawl into bed.
As a last bleary thought you pull up his IG profile and send him a message.
I really hope you’re alright.
Tumblr media
Aside from the usual messages from your friends, instagram alerts, and the like you have nothing from Chanyeol or his sister. With a sigh, you get ready for class.
Through a meeting with your thesis advisor, two seminars, a class you TA, and three hours in Suzallo studying and writing and trying not to watch for him, you anxiously check your phone every few minutes. Nothing.
By the time you arrive at the station you’re feeling anxious and desperate. On any other day it would amuse you how much you care about some random person, but this doesn’t feel random. It feels like fate, or some cruel joke God is pulling on you.
Daniel gives you a tight-lipped smile when you come in the booth to set down your bag and coat. ‘Any word?’ he asks, eyeing the way you clutch your phone tightly.
‘No.’ You sigh, ‘I found him online, though.’
For once he doesn’t say anything back, just nods for you to continue.
‘I found his Facebook and his Instagram. I reached out to his sister. There’s all these worried comments…’
Suse stands up from the desk in the booth when she sees you and sets her headphones on the stand. She hurries into the room and puts an arm around you. ‘How’s it going with the mystery man? We’re all dying to know.’
You lean your head on her shoulder briefly before showing her the blank screen on your phone. ‘I messaged him last night, but there’s nothing. I don’t know what’s going to happen tonight, but I’m afraid for him.’
She sighs and snaps her fingers. ‘Dammit, I was hoping this was just a prank.’
‘Me too-’ you start, but get cut off by the dinging of your phone. You haven’t had it off silent since 2008, but this is a special occasion.
You pull up his message, heart thundering in your chest, and watch as photos come through. Six of them. Finally, a video.
The photos are dark but they show a smooth white surface, lit by a moon high in the cloudy sky. All slightly blurry and from different angles, but it’s no mistaking this is the ice he’s been talking about.
‘Hey, I don’t mean to interrupt but it’s-’ Daniel starts, pointing at the clock.
‘So don’t,’ Suse says and waves him off.
You hit play on the video and the sound of wolves howling and wind makes your stomach drop. It’s only eleven seconds but it feels like it takes an eternity.
‘Oh, shit,’ Suse says behind you.
‘I know.’
‘No, look.’ She points to the vague outlines of dark lines on the video. ‘Are those bars?’
You play it over twice more, turning the brightness up and squinting. ‘Fucking hell, I think you’re right.’
Suse nudges your shoulder. ‘You should try to call him, he just sent these.’
‘Good idea.’
You hit the call button and wait while it rings. The longer it goes, the more Daniel points to the clock showing 8:06, the higher your anxiety rises. Finally, it ends. An automated message tells you yet again that the subscriber has not set up a voicemail box and you want to scream.
Frantically, you send him a text. Where are you?
‘If he doesn’t message me by intermission... I’m calling the cops.’
Suse shrugs on her coat and whoops. ‘Atta girl. I have to pick up Jimmy from work but if you need anything, call me. I mean it.’
‘Thanks.’
She leaves and you stare at the phone and the way those three little dots aren’t appearing. Daniel makes a noise of distress and you sigh. ‘Alright alright, I’m going.’
The show goes smoothly as it can. You thank yourself profusely for having Sundays set aside to pre-script the shows for the week. Lord knows where you’d be right now otherwise, with how much this Chanyeol situation has taken over your thoughts.
You and David the regular discuss the latest episode of Buzzfeed Unsolved. Someone going by the handle CryptidAndProud reads a decent Jersey Devil-inspired story they wrote. A weird crop circle in South America gets a good amount of traction. All the while you tap your foot and watch the clock tick on. Every few minutes you check your phone, refreshing your messages and instagram, hoping you’re not missing anything.
Just before the 10pm intermission a call comes in that makes you sag with relief.
1-907-613-2458 - UNLISTED NUMBER - NOME
You smash the answer button, cutting off one of the callers who is commenting that the crop circle ‘kind of looks like a dick from the right angle, right?’
‘Hello?’ You hardly recognize your own voice - high, frantic, worried. For long seconds the only thing you can hear is the distant sound of scuffling and what sounds like another man’s voice in the background. ‘Chanyeol?’
‘I’m here.’ He sounds so tired you feel it in your bones. ‘I don’t- I’m surprised I’m still here, honestly.’
‘Why is that?’
‘She came to me this morning. Before dawn,’ he says. The phone crackles and you hope the call didn’t drop. ‘I don’t want her to take me. I want to live.’
Suddenly, you want to cry. It seems incomprehensible that on Monday you didn’t know him at all, but by Thursday you’d give anything for him to be okay. You want to scream at him, asking if he’s safe, but you swallow it down harshly.
‘I want that too. How can I help you? Do you know where you are? I saw bars-’
The call cuts out and static fills the air.
‘Hello? Chanyeol?’
Nothing. Your mouse hovers over the end call button but you can’t force yourself do it. The silence of the studio settles over you, not comforting like it usually is, but strangling, suffocating. You hate it with every fiber of your being. Daniel rubs his eyes in the booth, looking at stressed as you feel.
Clearing your throat, you hit end. The digital switchboard lights up, all sixteen lines filled with flashing lights. People out there, waiting to comment.
‘Well. I don’t - I don’t know what to say. You guys have known me for years, most of you anyway. This isn’t something I’m doing. I think this is… something real. Something dangerous. If any of you know anything about Chanyeol Park, please call in. This has to end. I’ll be right back.’
You motion to Daniel and he queues up the ad break. With a sigh you slip off the headphones and they clatter onto the desk. Stroking your thighs anxiously you debate calling the police right this moment. Your phone rings, vibrating so loud against the wood of the desk you reel back and almost smack the back of your head on it.
It’s not him and you want to howl. But it’s a Seattle number, and you’ve only given yours out to one person this week. Hitting accept you lift the phone.
‘Hello?’
A woman’s voice comes through. ‘Hi, it’s... me Yoora. Chanyeol’s sister.’ She sniffles, she sounds as though she’s been crying. ‘I listened to your show. I think we need to meet up.’

You remembered the day you’d reached 1 million subscribers like it was yesterday.
I mean, it had only been six months ago, so really not that far back in the past, but you’d already gained a million more since then. Those six months had been a whirlwind.
You’d been sitting at your laptop for over an hour, watching the number of your subscribers on a real-time subscriber count website. You’d started biting your lip when you got to 999,980.
A few minutes later, you’d gained 10 more. And then 5... and then 4...
Your eyes had been glued to the screen, and when you watched 999,999 turn into 1,000,000, you had literally screamed. And then you’d started jumping around. And crying.
And then... What else? You had sat down and filmed a video.
Now, half a year and 1 million more subscribers later, you were happier than ever. Not because you had 2 million people watching your videos, but because you were doing what you loved, and you were doing a damn good job at it.
Sure it could be challenging to come up with original makeup tutorials and keep things fresh, but you thrived on pressure. You gained inspiration however you could, and your followers were always so flabbergasted at your ideas.
Your absolute favorite makeup look you’d ever done had been inspired by a Monet painting you’d seen on a trip to New York City. You and your subscribers alike had died over the pastel lips and the soft highlight and the watercolor eyeshadow.
Of course, you also threw in fun videos like hauls and Q&As and monthly favorites. Because who didn’t like watching those?!
You were actually in the middle of editing a Sephora haul currently, but you were suffering from major brain block. Your eyes were tired of looking at your face, and your ears were sick of hearing your voice.
So, naturally, you went to YouTube to distract yourself.
One of your favorite things to do was browse your recommended videos and find new channels to watch/become obsessed with. Even though you were almost strictly a beauty channel, you watched all sorts of videos. Daily vlogs, house remodels, cooking lessons, and lately, you’d gotten into watching those “So-and-so react to KPOP for the first time” videos. You found those extremely entertaining, and they’d gotten you to watch a few KPOP videos yourself.
As you perused the videos suggested for you, one, in particular, caught your eye. The thumbnail was just a black and white picture of a man sitting at a picnic table outside of a small shop, and the title was “Just Go (ORIGINAL SONG) - B.I.” It was only three and a half minutes, the perfect amount of time for a brain break.
So you clicked on it.
The video itself was a screen recording of the music software as the song played, something you thought was a nice touch. And when you heard the opening piano, you were almost instantly hooked. Already the melody was stuck in your head, and once the lyrics started, you felt like singing along even though you’d never heard them before.
“He’s got a pretty good voice,” you murmured, nodding your head along to the smooth, R&B music. But then he started rapping, and your head literally jerked back in surprise. “Oh, wow. He’s really good.”
When the song was over, you immediately wanted to listen to it again. But you also wanted to check out more of his songs, so you gave the video a quick thumbs up before clicking on his channel name (which was ‘HANBIN’). You were pretty shocked to discover he only had 50 thousand subscribers; he was incredibly talented! At least he seemed to be from the one song you’d listened to. But it was a really, really good song.
As you scrolled through his feed, you noticed he posted a good mix of original songs, covers, KPOP reactions, and vlogs. You clicked on the first vlog you came across, wondering what this guy was like. With a voice like that, he had to be super cool and thug, right?
The video opened with him just waking up, and - again - your head jerked back in surprise. Um... he was super cute.
Tumblr media
And as you got further into the video, you realized he was pretty funny, too. He was very relaxed in front of the camera, and you could tell he wasn’t putting on an act or anything. He was chill but dorky at the same time. Not at all how you’d imagined him to be. In a good way.
You found yourself watching with a smile on your face, resting your chin in your palm and forgetting about every other thing you had to get done.
And then, all of sudden (though not really because it had been over 20 minutes), he said, “I’m about to go work on a new song, so I’ll leave it here for today. Leave a comment down below what your favorite ice cream flavor is. If you say anything other than Rocky Road, you’re wrong. Thanks for watching, and if you want to eventually hear the song I’m working on right now, give this video a thumbs up. Oh, and please subscribe.”
He smiled, waving to the camera before the video transitioned to his end screen.
Well, you had to listen to him, didn’t you? You moved your mouse over the red button and clicked ‘Subscribe.’

Hinata, sports reporter and Kageyama Tobio fanboy, had found one way of dealing with his nearly decade-long crush on someone unattainable: writing fanfiction—the smutty, self-insert, wildly creative kind. It had always been his most guarded secret, and was going to remain that way until…
Olympic volleyball star Kageyama knew almost nothing of the fanfic world. But overnight a babbling, orange-haired reporter changed that when instead of an interview transcript, he sent Kageyama a dirty (and oddly intriguing) draft for a story featuring the two of them.
Rating: Explicit |Pairing: KageHina |Tags: Sports Reporter& Fic writer Hinata/ Volleyball Pro Kageyama, Humor & Smut
**With special guest, Esselle, writing Hinata's fic excerpt
[Ao3]
Hinata’s first crush was through a phone screen.   He was sulking in bed, potato chip crumbs on his chest, and his phone held above his face as he watched the third round of the All Japan Intercollegiate Volleyball Championship. It was part self-torture and part curiosity that lead him to watch these games, since his own team was not participating because of their loss in the Nagoya representative playoffs.   The game was Tokai University versus Chuo University, both powerhouse schools with an equal chance of winning. Hinata was just a first year so all he knew about them was how impossible it was to get into their starting lineup due to a top-notch team of players. But then the Tokai University player introductions scrolled across the screen and he saw it: Kageyama Tobio, principal setter, 1st year.
Hinata nearly choked on his umaibou. He sat up with a start while coughing and smacking his chest to clear his windpipe, and pressed rewind to make sure he read the caption correctly. But the undeniable and impressive truth was still the same: Kageyama Tobio was the 1st year setter for one of the strongest and most competitive university volleyball teams in Japan. A prodigy. And though normally that would only make Hinata pissed off and hyperaware of his common, un-prodigy self, this time his eyes couldn’t help but follow Kageyama around the court in admiration.   He was beautiful, in like, every sense of that word. He had pitch-black hair that brushed across a smooth face and serious, deep blue eyes. And that body—chiseled in all the right places, Hinata’s favorite assets being his defined pecs, thick legs, round butt, and wide sculpted shoulders. But aside from Hinata’s superficial and ‘he can’t help but be hella gay’ observations, it actually was how Kageyama moved about the court that drew him in. Never wasting a step, Kageyama commanded the court with meticulous precision and unmatched grace. The trust between him and his teammates was palpable in the others’ resilient determination to connect the ball to him, and his perfect repayment of their efforts: he always made sure the ball got to one of their hands in just the right position that maximized each of their strengths. Hinata could tell that it was Kageyama’s ability to flawlessly set the ball to them, repeatedly and without fail, which got him his spot on the team.   Watching one game lead to watching all the Tokai games in the championship, which lead to watching all the games in existence since Kageyama joined the team: it had become a full-blown obsession. So this is what it was like to have a favorite sports player…though Hinata’s interest in him was tainted with something beyond a simple appreciation of his athleticism. He was grateful for Tokai’s dedicated stream of online content, providing coverage of every official and practice game, as well as behind the scene moments at practice and a few interviews with the starting line up. Hinata watched every video, sometimes multiple times, and keep a close eye on Kageyama’s expressions and movements. His favorite was a short interview where Kageyama was asked what it was like to be the main setter as a freshman.   His usually disinterested expression broke into a teensy smile, eyes lighting up, and he said, “My senpai always get the ball to me and I can set for them at every game. It’s fun.” And then he walked off.   The video was a mere minute but Hinata never tired of re-watching it. He wanted that smile, as tiny and brief as it as, engrained in his memory. He thought he had seen all of Kageyama’s expressions—anger, smugness, annoyance, exhaustion, and a hybrid of a few of these—but this one, this one was so rare and pure it made Hinata want to kiss him. But he couldn't, unfortunately, so he threw his head back on his pillow and closed his eyes, trying to imagine what that would be like. At first it was innocent like this, just imagining his lips or his laughing face. But with time his imagination gradually seeped with lust, waking him up sweaty and wet in the morning and sparking a fire in his gut whenever he closed his eyes to think of Kageyama. He knew it was…strange. That he was crushing so hard on a person he’d never met to the point of jerking off to the mental image he had ingrained of him was, a bit out of the norm, to say the very least.   The feelings persisted for many years—through his attempts and failures at dating, his uneasy and regrettable one-night stands, and that post-graduation loneliness that came with being a working adult and living alone. He had graduated with a degree in communications, concentrating on sport journalism, and after countless interviews and rejections, was hired by TV Osaka as their new sports reporter. He hadn’t expected this stroke of luck. Especially since it came on the tails of Kageyama being recruited to the Osaka’s Panasonic Panthers. Not only would they be in the same city, but also with Kageyama becoming a professional volleyball player, Hinata would be able to cover news about him all the time. And there was a lot of news about him and his vibrant pro career: having Kageyama as their setter lit a fire under the Panasonic Panthers that hadn’t been seen in a while and they started winning tournaments. If that wasn’t impressive enough, he also did an amazing job as the setter for Japan’s Olympic volleyball team. Oh, and of course, there was the occasional small scandal of x or y woman leaving the handsome athlete’s apartment, but none of it amounted to much, to Hinata’s relief.   Yes, even still, Hinata liked that distant and unattainable Kageyama. He especially enjoyed his reporting when it had to do with him, so everyone had noticed how much of a Kageyama fanboy he was. And that lust that burned through him…it had matured into something beyond masturbation and finding porn stars that looked like Kageyama. His head had become so filled with fantasies that he needed to find a way to empty it, and so he started writing fanfiction. He would write countless stories of his OC, which was actually just a self-insert of himself, and Kageyama, doing all sorts of wild things. The stories brought him warmth, peace of mind, and when they started getting a few loyal readers, a group of people who also relished in these fantasies he was once shamed of.   But, the most painful thing about unrequited crushes is that all the imagining only made him fall harder. Hinata loved the Kageyama from his imagination, whether or not it lined up with the real one. This was the only Kageyama that could ever be completely his and he was okay with living in his head.   Well, he thought he was okay with just living in his head…   He SHOULD have been satisfied with just the fantasies, yet—Hinata let out a shaky breath and stared at his reflection as he nervously finger-combed his hair. He was currently at a potential major turning point in his life and also having an existential crisis in a bathroom.   “Get your shit together,” he mumbled to himself, opening the sink faucet and splashing his face with cold water.   TV Osaka was going to do an exclusive and intensive report on volleyball’s MVP, and that’s where Kageyama fanboy and Osaka’s sweetheart announcer came in. This meant Hinata was going to have to meet and talk directly to Kageyama, multiple times, throughout the course of a few weeks. Hinata had already been working at TV Osaka for three years, so the fact that this didn't happen sooner was a mystery, but he had never actually prepared his heart for the reality of it happening.   “Hinata!” Ueda, his fieldwork partner and also the one who was going to run the adjacent and more detailed exclusive on TV Osaka’s website, peeked into the bathroom. “Stop shitting your pants already. The love of your life just finished practice so we have to go do the interview now.”   ‘Love of his life’—ha, if only Ueda knew how true those words were. “Stop teasing!” Hinata yelled and dried his face with a paper towel. “I’m coming, I’m coming,” he said with a sigh, pulling his lanyard badge from his white shirt pocket so it hung freely and visibly on his chest.   They walked into the Panasonic Panther’s gymnasium and toward the corner they had set up with chairs, microphones, and filming equipment for the sake of the interview. There Kageyama stood, tall, towel dangling from his neck as he dabbed at his face, his shorts and practice shirt straining with every defined muscle now glistened with sweat. Hinata put on a smile as he trained his wild thoughts on artic ice baths, naked grandmas, and dying cats.   “Hi,” he beamed, a bit too enthusiastically, and extended his hand. “I’m Hinata Shouyou, with TV Osaka.”   “…Oh. You’re shorter in person.” Kageyama noted, briefly shaking his hand. “And your hair is even brighter.”   “Um, I am! And yes it is,” he replied with a forced smile. How was he supposed to even act? How does a person act when they meet someone they’ve been jerking of to for years?! Hinata signaled to Ueda, “This is my partner, Ueda. He’s going take charge of the recording and filming while we talk. Should we start?”   “Sure.” Kageyama took his seat and pulled the towel from his neck, hanging it on the arm of the chair.   Hinata sat down and opened his notepad with his list of questions. “Um, okay. So first question, how do you feel about being called volleyball’s MVP?”   “That’s a nice sentiment but calling someone the most valuable player of an entire sport is ridiculous.” Kageyama shrugged. “There are players in other teams doing things I can’t do and being their team’s MVP in their own way. I don't need an exaggerated and flashy title like that.”   “So you don’t like that title?”   “Not really.”   Hinata tapped his notebook with the tip of his pen.“…But you can’t deny that you’ve broken countless records in the past few years. You’re certainly one of the best Japanese volleyball players to come into the court in the last three decades. Not only is your professional record unbelievably impressive, you always made huge splashes in the collegiate and high school level—”   “—I’m doing what I’ve been doing since day one and nothing else: setting to maximize the abilities of each player on my team. I’m glad to be doing it and it’s fulfilling. That’s it. Everything else is outside my field of vision.”   “Understood.” Hinata gave a nervous laugh. “So, do you get along well with your team? Are you guys friends outside of practice?”   “Yes, we go out to eat and drink together from time to time.”   “Is that all?”   Kageyama cocked his head a bit to the side. “What else would there be?”   “Um, like hanging out in each other’s apartments, or doing karaoke, or a joint hobby you guys may have. Do you have any hobbies?”   “Volleyball,” Kageyama stated and Hinata could almost hear the silent ‘no shit, Sherlock’ following it.   “Aside from that.”   “I like food. Does that count?”   Hinata chuckled and nodded. “Yes, I suppose it does. What’s your favorite food?”   “Pork curry with egg on top. I also like meat buns.”   “Do you eat these often? Is it difficult to stay in shape while eating your favorite foods?”   Kageyama looked down at himself and then up again at Hinata with a confused expression. “I’m always practicing and work out often. And aside from those foods I eat a pretty clean diet…so it’s not hard at all.”   Hinata fought the burning desire to cop a longing glace at Kageyama’s body. He made the smart decision to look him in his gorgeous face instead. “That’s good, then.”   “Any more questions?” Kageyama was bouncing his leg now. They must have passed the threshold of his patience with people snooping into his life.   “Just one more question for this part of the interview series.” Hinata said with a grin. “Do you have any other play you see as a rival?”   “No, I only focus on myself and how I can be more of a strength to my team.”   “Pretty admirable.” Hinata closed his notepad and got up from his chair, looking to Ueda. “And that’s a wrap for now.”   Kageyama grabbed his towel. “Am I done for today?”   “Yes, I’ll send you—” Hinata shut himself up; noticing Kageyama had already walked away. “…Okay then,” he muttered as he watched Kageyama move further from him. Damn him and his wonderfully shaped ass.   Ueda and Hinata spent the next hour going over the footage and planning on what questions to tackle the next time. Ueda asked him more than once if he was feeling star struck, but Hinata answered that he wasn’t sure. He obviously didn’t give full disclosure, but on his way home he thought more deeply about what exactly he was feeling at the moment. First of all, it hadn’t yet truly sunk in that he just had a conversation with the fodder for his sexual fantasies from the last eight years. But if he were being honest with himself, though his heart was jumping out of his chest and it was very difficult to keep his eyes off of Kageyama’s body, the whole ordeal was pretty…anticlimactic?   Sure, it’s not like he was expecting a TV drama scene or anything. But he thought it’d be more of a BAM or a WAH, or some other of his many nonverbal sounds. Of course it was amazing talking to Kageyama. He still found him unbearably attractive, somewhat cold and unrelentingly straightforward as he had expected, and also a surprisingly awkward, but meeting the ‘real one’ made Hinata pitifully hyperaware of his own delusions.   He took his laptop and the USB with the recording of the interview out of his bag and set it on the small table in his kitchen. He then slipped off his tie, untucked his shirt, and grabbed two beers from his fridge. He yawned, it was already ten at night and the exhaustion from his over-excitement was pulling at his eyes. But he needed to transcribe the interview and send it over to Kageyama for approval so that they could soon put it up on TV Osaka’s website. He opened up his first can of Asahi, took a refreshing gulp, and got to work.   An hour later he was not only quite drunk from a bad combination of light-weightiness and exhaustion, but also finally done with the interview transcript. He saved it into whichever folder he had used last, and though it happened to be his fanfiction folder, he figured he’d just move it elsewhere tomorrow. He was tired. All he needed to do was attached this document to an email and…done! Kageyama should have gotten that. He’d send him a text late tomorrow to ask if the transcription looked fine, but right now he could only think about his heavenly bed. And so he waddled off to sleep.
Kageyama Tobio was sure he was dreaming. After all, there was no way the brilliant, handsome, talented, sexy, Pulitzer Prize winner for Investigative Reporting journalist Hinata Shou could actually want to have sex with him, was there?   Sure, Kageyama was pretty hot himself — since he was naked, his really awesome abs were obvious. His pecs were super defined because of his twelve-step exercise program he’d developed himself (now a series on YouTube!) and his eyes were really blue, like, way bluer than anyone else’s eyes and twice as pretty. And he was tall and also handsome and the best setter in Japan, probably even the world. He was definitely just as sexy as Shou, so why shouldn’t they sleep together? They’d probably have really hot sex, and maybe even fall in love.   “I really want to have sex with you,” Shou said, dispelling all doubts from Kageyama’s mind.   “I really want to have sex with you, too,” Kageyama told him.   They started to have sex. It was really fucking hot and super sexy and vulgar, which was the best kind, even though sometimes Shou liked it slow, too. Also, they did it without a condom. First, Shou got on his knees and gave Kageyama a blow job. He was really good at it, even though Kageyama had also never been with anyone besides Shou (despite how super sexy and hot Kageyama was). And now he knew he would never have sex with anyone else again, ever, because Shou was definitely the best.   “Shou,” Kageyama said, and Shou looked up at him, while he kept sucking on Kageyama’s trembling manhood. “You’re the best at blow jobs. If this were the Olympics, I’d give you a gold medal.” “How about a pearl necklace instead?” Shou asked sexily. [A/N: a pearl necklace is when a guy cums all over his partner’s chest!!!!!! So vulgar (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)]
At first Kageyama stared at his laptop screen with a blank expression. Surely, it was shock. What the fuck was this? He rubbed at his eyes to make sure it wasn’t the exhaustion playing tricks on him. But as he continued reading, his face burning a deeper shade of red with every sentence, that initial shock turned into realization.
This was so hot that Kageyama came instantly, and he did it all over Shou’s chest to give him a pearl necklace. After that, Shou made Kageyama lie down so that he could finger him (with lube!!) until he could have sex with Kageyama. Kageyama was so sexy, moaning so much while Shou was inside him, that Shou came really soon, too. It felt AMAZING to come inside of Kageyama (without a condom) that he came so much his cum filled up Kageyama’s tight hole and even came out all over Shou’s throbbing, thick member. It was really gross, but also really hot. It was so hot that it made Shou want to have even more sex.
“Kageyama,” he moaned, “I’m going to ride you, okay?”   “Yeah,” Kageyama moaned also, “I want you to ride me so bad, Shou, you’re so hot!!”   Shou made Kageyama finger him now until he was ready, even though he was so turned on that he probably could have done it even without fingering, but he also wanted to feel Kageyama’s sexy hands with his sexy national level setter’s fingers inside him. Kageyama was a really good setter, but he was also really good at fingering, and Shou even came again while Kageyama did it, because he was so good.   “Can you still ride me?” Kageyama asked after he came.   Shou smirked down at him. “Baby, I can do anything you want.”   Kageyama’s mini-Yama wasn’t really all that mini!!! It was enormous, big, thick, trembling. Shou screamed as it went inside him when he sat on it. Kageyama’s penis was the best thing he had ever felt. It was so good that he had to start bouncing on it immediately. He really wanted Kageyama to fill him with his cum.   “Kageyama!” he screeched, gyrating his hips around and around in a figure eight on Kageyama’s meaty spear, which he’d read was a good sex move in Cosmo. “Fill me with your cum!”   “I’ll do anything for you, Shou!” Kageyama yelled. He started to come, even more than Shou had, pouring his hot, sticky ropes of spunk inside of Shou for at least two minutes. Shou climaxed simultaneously with him, coming all over Kageyama’s sexy abs and on his nipples, too. It was the best orgasm either of them had ever had.   “That was the best sex ever,” Shou said as he snuggled next to Kageyama and Kageyama cuddled him and kissed his forehead. “And I’ve had a lot of sex.”   “Really?” Kageyama asked. He was super happy that he had made Shou come so much and feel so good even though he was a virgin before. It must be because they were made for each other.   “Yeah,” Shou said. “Let’s do it a lot more.”   They cuddled the whole night long and had sex seven more times, because they were boyfriends now and would probably get married and get a dog. Shou would always come to see all of Kageyama’s games, and Kageyama always dedicated his medals to Shou.   They loved each other forever!!!   THE END.   [A/N: KTsHubby69 here! Hope ya enjoyed that. And remember to leave me comments and likes~]
This was ‘fanfiction’.   Hinata had sent him fanfiction. His email had said this was supposed to be an interview transcript but it sure as hell wasn’t! It was steamy, raunchy, and very badly written gay porn about him and some guy called Shou. There was this time that to poke fun at him, his teammates had shown him a page full of stories of him and other guys, some being his own teammates, in some fanfiction site. All the knowledge he had of this foreign world was that memory and, well, this wretched document on his screen. Why was contriving sexy situations between other living people something a person would want to do with their free time?   Wait, wasn’t Hinata’s name…Shouyou? Huh?   Kageyama launched forward so violently in his couch that the laptop that was resting on his knees smacked him in the face. “HAAAH?” he yelled to absolutely no one but his panicking self.   He pushed the laptop away from him and rubbed at the sore spot on his forehead while he tried to wrap his mind around the situation. Hinata Shouyou—bubbly, vibrant, sunshine sweetheart of TV Osaka—had sent him smutty fanfiction involving Kageyama and a guy named Shou. Only a dumbass wouldn’t notice that Shou and Shouyou are basically the same name. And since the document said ‘draft’ Hinata had, certainly by mistake, sent him something he was personally working on. Meaning that Hinata was writing fanfiction of himself doing wild things with Kageyama.   But the biggest question of them all was: why?   The most obvious answer was that Hinata had a crush on Kageyama and fantasized about Kageyama doing all those things he wrote about. But that was hard to visualize—the Hinata crushing on him part, not the sex, Hinata made sure to make that painfully vivid—after all, he acted pretty normal in the interview today. He was a little bit red in the cheeks and sometimes he did have a questionable look in his eye, but other than that, he was utterly calm.   Kageyama pulled the laptop back to him and cozied up with it in a corner of his couch. He was curious. He wanted to know what that seemingly innocent face had hiding in his mind. And so he started reading yet again from the beginning. Most of it should have made him uncomfortable. Up to this point all of his experience had been with women and he had never considered being with a man…yet he wasn’t opposed to the things portrayed in this fanfic. Well, he wasn’t opposed to most of the things portrayed in the story, but Hinata’s characterization of him? Horrendous. It was unbearably out of character. He wouldn’t say half the crap Hinata had him say! Also his writing needed some work.   Kageyama went to Google and looked up the username mentioned in the author’s note. He was curious to see what else Hinata had written, in what other ways did they ravish each other on the page. Chalk it up to 3 a.m. boredom, or a touch of narcissism, who cares. The search lead him to Hinata’s profile on a fanfiction website and a listing of everything he’d written. Kageyama scrolled through—Hinata was somewhat prolific, having written almost fifty fics, and also singularly focused: every fic was between Kageyama and this Shou character of his. Kageyama wasn’t sure if to feel flattered or bothered by the fact that some of the fics ranged back a few years, meaning that Hinata had been hung up on him for quite some time. He tried to click on a fic in the listing, a pirate ‘alternate universe’ that sounded interesting, but the site redirected him to an account creation page. Was he really about to create an account to read bad fanfiction about him and the adorable reporter in charge of him for the next few weeks…   Short answer: Yes.   Long answer: Yes, but he was probably going to regret it tomorrow.   Something was vibrating. Kageyama’s eyes peeled open, the bright sunlight in his living room causing him to shield his irritated eyes. He looked around, his neck sore and mind disoriented—when did he pass out? If he remembered correctly it was somewhere in the middle of the third fic he was reading. He groggily set the dead laptop on top of his coffee table and searched his pocket for his vibrating phone. It was an unknown number.   “Hello?” he mumbled, a yawn catching him at the end.   “Sorry did I wake you? I didn’t expect you to still be sleeping this late in the afternoon.” It was Hinata’s voice.   Kageyama shot up and looked at the clock hanging above his television. It was already two. “Not usually. It’s my day off and just…I had a late night.”   “Oh, what kept you up so late?”   Your lewd fics, that’s what. “None of your business,” Kageyama muttered. Fuck, that sounded a bit too harsh.   “S-Sorry! I shouldn't be nosy, right? Um, anyway, I sent you an email with the interview transcript. Did you get it? Does it look fine to use?”   “Uh…” Kageyama glanced at his laptop and immediately felt his face burn up. “Y-Yeah. It looks good. Totally fine.” His guilt was eating him alive.   “That’s great, then! I’ll be in contact with you about our next interview and the photo shoot.”   “Okay.”   “Bye!”   He hung up and pinched the bridge of his nose, letting out a long, deep sigh. How the hell was he going to face this guy from now on? Just trying to bring up an image of his pretty face and obnoxiously vibrant orange hair dragged up all sorts of descriptions of moans dripping from those saliva licked lips and eyes glazed over with—fuck, you see, his mind just freaking GOES.   And it kept going, bringing up a scene in one of Hinata’s fics every…damn…time.   How about when they were at lunch together and Hinata was happily eating his salad and babbling about the photo shoot that would happen in a few days. Well, of course, brain, wasn’t the cabbage lush, green, and very similar to the jungle foliage in that fic where Hinata and him were castaways on an island and fucked like bunnies to keep each other sane? UGH.   Kageyama squeezed his plastic water bottle so hard it popped, splashing water all over himself and the table. He stood up with a jolt and Hinata came to his rescue with napkins, trying to hold back a laugh while simultaneously shoving napkins into Kageyama’s hands and pressing them on to the table. Kageyama dabbed his practice shorts with the napkins, eyes stead on the soft curve of Hinata’s lips and the crinkling of his eyes when he giggled. When he wasn’t chattering on nonstop he was actually, sort of…lovely.   That was the usual pattern.   Hinata did something completely innocent like untangle the filming equipment and BAM, that kinky ‘shibari au’ Kageyama had read a few days prior would play in his mind. Eating ice cream dragged up ‘semen drinking fetish au’. Sipping coffee— ‘coffee shop au’. Unbuttoning the top of his shirt to cool down—‘stripper au’. Stretching. ‘Dancer au’. Playing volleyball together. ‘Fucking in the team locker-room PWP’. Any mention of Sci-Fi and that really, really strange ‘alien abduction au’ that left Kageyama both confused, but also hot and bothered, flashed through his mind.   Why the hell did this guy have such an impressively overactive imagination? Kageyama could also say that for himself…if he didn’t keep reading Hinata’s god-awful fics this problem of constantly thinking about them would probably solve itself. But he couldn’t help but go back to read them every night, they had become strangely addicting. Though his own characterization hadn’t improved in the slightest, and he made sure to leave Hinata a comment letting him know that, it excited him to see how Hinata would react in each of those different scenarios. He wondered if Hinata was that sensitive in real life.   Anyhow, said dirty scene popped up in his head, and the next step of the usual routine was that he’d act like am utter fool. Too often had he spilled water on himself, but he’d also trip, bump into things, and let easily receivable balls catch him in the face. None of it affected his actually playing or practice (thank god) since it only happened around Hinata, but it did make filming and shooting photos take that much longer. Yet, Hinata was never mad. When facing Kageyama, an endearing gaze glimmered from those golden eyes, and he’d laugh, much to Kageyama’s embarrassment, in dulcet tones that warmed up the room.   Kageyama could tell he was falling for him.   In the last few weeks there was rarely a moment Hinata wasn’t on his mind, but which Hinata? Fearless, wonton, and suave Hinata from those fics or the adorable, cheerful, and snarky Hinata right in front of him? They might be one and the same. If he dragged Hinata to a room where they were alone and pressed him to the bed, would he be able to see the blood rush to his cheeks as he lost himself in Kageyama’s embrace?   He wanted to answer these questions. But first, he needed to know if his feelings were true.
Hinata yawned, glancing at the time on his work computer. It was past eight and he wouldn’t be going home any time soon. He bounced his leg impatiently and pressed the home button to his phone, only to be disappointed yet again. Kageyama hadn’t responded to any of his texts for about week. Half of them weren’t work related so Hinata guessed that Kageyama was too busy to respond to them. But he hadn’t expected radio silence about the scheduling of their last interview, since Kageyama used to be prompt in his responses to work related emails and texts.   “Here you go,” Ueda returned with two cups of coffee and took the seat next to Hinata, passing him one. They were looking over all the Kageyama video footage they had and editing it down for the online exclusive.   “Thanks.” Hinata grabbed the cup with both hands and took a blissful slip; it was perfectly warm.   Ueda took a gulp of his and set it down on the desk. “So…are things going okay with you and Kageyama recently?”   “Hm? What do you mean by that?”   Ueda scratched the back of his neck. “I mean, like, did you do anything to get him pissed or something?”   Hinata pursed his lips and set his coffee on the desk. “Not that I know of…but he has been ignoring my texts for a while. Why do you ask?”   “Well, it’s just that I overhead our boss on my way to get coffee. She said that Kageyama had called in this morning and requested that the reporter in charge of his exclusive coverage be changed.”   “What?!” Hinata exclaimed, standing up from his chair. “Why? Did he say why?”   Ueda shrugged. “I have no idea. That’s all I heard, but she’s probably going to talk to you about it soon.”   Hinata bit his bottom lip and tapped his foot on the floor. Did Kageyama catch him staring at him weirdly? They were getting along super well recently so why would Kageyama all of a sudden want to avoid him? What was up with his freaking luck! First he had a rude reader saying his Kageyama was OOC and now this?!   “Sorry, Ueda. I promise to make it up to you but I won’t let Kageyama take this project away from me!” Hinata stuffed his phone in his bag and hurried to the door. He heard a faint ‘Good Luck’ from Ueda as he left the room.   Hinata headed to Kageyama’s apartment, he and Ueda had gone there briefly for a portion of the photo shoot and Hinata had committed it to memory. It was a Friday, so Kageyama usually finished practice around seven and went straight home. He tried to gather what he was going to say in his head but his thoughts were all muddled. He was nervous—what if Kageyama had come to hate him for some reason? Somewhere in the corner of his heart he was holding on to the hope that they could continue to meet up even after they were done with the exclusive. He didn't expect Kageyama to come to love him or anything like that, but friendship would have been nice. Now that he’d been by Kageyama’s side so many times, seen his expressions up close, felt him near by, he didn’t know how he’d go back to just living in his head.   Once inside the entrance of Kageyama’s apartment building, Hinata pressed the intercom button for his apartment. He looked straight up at the camera, knowing Kageyama could see him.   “Why are you here?”   “Let me up. Please.”   He heard a quiet sigh and then the door buzzed open. Hinata took the elevator to the third floor, practicing deep breathes as he approached Kageyama’s door. There, Kageyama was waiting for him in a white t-shirt and shorts, hair damp from getting just out of the shower. Hinata nearly forgot what he had come all this way for.   Kageyama leaned against his open door. “If you’re here to—   “—Why are you avoiding me?!” spat Hinata, eyes wide and locked to Kageyama’s.   “I’m not avoiding you,” insisted Kageyama, desperately wanting to look away from Hinata’s intense stare but keeping his gaze steady to not make his lie obvious.   “You are.” Hinata balled his hands on either side of him. “I know that you want to change who’s in charge of your exclusive. And you haven’t answered my texts. If I did anything to make you mad or uncomfortable just tell me. I’ll try to be better, I promise.”   Kageyama furrowed his eyebrows, folding his arms across his chest. “It’s not that…it’s just, personal reasons.”   “But I thought we were getting closer!” Hinata stammered, eyebrows knitting, and lips quivering. “Just tell me why. Did you notice that I look at you weirdly? I promise I’ll stop; it’s just that I’ve been a fan of yours for so long that it gets away from me sometimes. This exclusive is a dream come true, it means a lot to me. I just really—   “Hinata!”   “—love you!” Hinata’s eyes widened, swimming wildly with the realization of what he just said. “No, no, not that. I mean—“   Kageyama slapped a hand over Hinata’s mouth and covered his own burning face with the other. “Shut. Up. Already.” He huffed, finding enough composure to uncover his face and return his gaze to Hinata’s. “I’ve known you like for a while now.”   “Mm!” Hinata muffled.   “And before your mind jumps to that, no, that’s not why I’m avoiding you.” Kageyama moved his hand away from Hinata’s mouth. “Try to be quiet, dumbass.”   “How?!” Hinata whispered, loudly.   Kageyama sighed and took Hinata’s hand, silently leading him into his apartment. Hinata just followed along, not really sure of what was happening anymore or if he should say something, so he also kept quiet and focused his attention on their linked hands. They took off their shoes, walked into the living room, and Kageyama plopped him down on his couch. He picked up his laptop from the coffee table, clicked around, and placed it on Hinata’s lap.   “That’s the email you sent me in order to review the transcript for the first interview. But you attached the wrong document,” Kageyama explained, cheeks dusted in pink once more.   “What did I send, then?...” Hinata looked at the document title and his faced immediately went beet red. “Wait, no. No way.” He opened the document, and having confirmed his fear, returned the laptop to the coffee table, covered his face with his hands, and curled forward until his head was on his knees. “You must think I’m crazy,” he muffled.   Kageyama gently mussed the hair on the top of Hinata’s head. “I don't.”   “Even though I write weird stuff about you?!” Hinata croaked, face looking up to reveal his flushed face and glossy eyes.   “Yes.” Kageyama retracted his hand, folding his arms across his chest, and paced back and forth while staring at his feet. “…I wasn’t grossed out by it. More like, I was so hooked that I read a lot of your other stories,” he stammered.   “H-Huh?” Hinata stood up and took a few steps towards the restless Kageyama. “Really?”   “And I kept thinking about your stupid fics every time we were together. I wanted to put some distance between us because I couldn’t tell if your stories were influencing my feelings or if they were my own…” Kageyama stopped pacing and let his hands fall to his sides, blue eyes meeting Hinata’s golden gaze. “I like you, Hinata. Even if you write strange fanfiction.”   “You didn’t have to add that at the end!” Hinata whined, hand tugging at Kageyama’s t-shirt with a smile so wide it could have left his face. “Is this for real? I feel like I’m dreaming.”   Kageyama flicked Hinata’s forehead. “It’s real, stupid. You’ve done enough living in your head for a lifetime.”   “Then…” Hinata grew quiet, gaze cast downward, and pinky finger sneaking to touch Kageyama’s skin from where he was holding his shirt. “You’ll have to keep me busy.”   Kageyama swallowed, hard. “Yeah, of course,” he managed to get out.   Hinata looked up through his lashes, and though he was trying to best to be sultry, his pursed lips and knitted eyebrows displayed his embarrassment and desperation. But even more so with this front he was trying to put on—he was unbearably cute.   “Right now,” Hinata whispered.   “Now?” Kageyama murmured, the fingers Hinata was crawling up his abs leaving immense heat in their wake. “Okay. My room is this way.” He grabbed Hinata’s assaulting hand and pulled him along.   “Wait,” Hinata said as he slipped his hand out of Kageyama’s grasp. “I need to take a shower first and prepare, and all that.”   Kageyama pointed at a door across from the living room. “That’s my shower and tub.”   Hinata nodded and said, “Thanks,” promptly disappearing behind the door.   Twenty minutes passed and Hinata remerged from the bathroom with a towel around his waist, his usually messy hair now damp and framing his rosy cheeks. Kageyama shot up from the couch, eyes traveling across Hinata’s almost naked body as if they had a mind of their own.   “My room?”   Hinata nodded, a small smile slipping past his nerves. “If it’ll get you to stop trying to eat me alive with your eyes.”   Kageyama chuckled and shook his head, grabbing Hinata’s hand again. “I think it’ll only get worse.”   Once in the bedroom, Kageyama turned on only his bedside lamp and set the lube and condom from his drawer on top his nightstand. Hinata climbed onto Kageyama’s dark blue king-sized bed. Kageyama threw off his t-shirt and shorts and carefully crawled over him. He deliberately smoothed his hand across Hinata’s chest, focusing his attention on tracing his beautiful collarbones and pink nipples. He feathered his fingers down Hinata stomach and up again, inching closer and closer to the edge of his towel with every pass. Hinata shuddered under his touch, hazy eyes watching his face and hands wrapped around the wrist of the hand Kageyama was leaning on.   “You’re a lot more forward in your fics,” Kageyama commented, pulling down at Hinata’s towel until he was completely exposed. He took in Hinata’s naked body, its lean shape, faint freckles, and the proud state of his leaking dick. “But just as sensitive…I’ve barely touched you.”   “I can’t help it!” Hinata wrapped his arms around Kageyama’s neck and pulled his face closer. “I’ve imagined this a million times. You could probably just look at me for the next ten minutes and it’ll be enough to make me come.”   Kageyama brushed his lips against Hinata’s, grabbing one of his hands and pressing it to the raging erection he was packing in his boxers. I’ve read half those fantasies so I’m just as painfully excited. But…” Kageyama placed his lips right beneath Hinata’s neck and murmured, “You should focus on the me that’s here.”   “Ah,” Hinata breathed, fingers teasing Kageyama’s dick against the cloth of his boxers. “It’s really hard to focus on anything right now.”   Kageyama laughed through his nose, mouth traveling down to Hinata’s neck to nip and suck at his unmarked skin. It bruised with ease and soon enough Kageyama had scattered dark red hickies all the way to his shoulder. Hinata also kept himself busy, shaky fingers traveling up and down Kageyama’s spine, grazing gentle nails against the back of of his neck. Kageyama trembled against that touch, biting harder into Hinata’s neck and rolling his nipples to reciprocate the pleasure. Hinata whimpered against his ear, his fingers pulling at the hair nearby, drawing a low moan from Kageyama.   “You like that?” Hinata huffed, fingers traveling deeper into Kageyama’s hair.   Kageyama hummed in affirmation; tongue teasing Hinata’s chest and hands tortuously caressing the inside of his thighs. His mouth moved further down, tongue prodding at the place where his thigh met his hips, teeth grazing so close to Hinata’s dick that Hinata’s legs quivered uncontrollably despite being so tightly wrapped around him. Kageyama sat up and reached over for the lube and condom, setting the condom behind him for easy access later and pouring excessive lube in his hand. He warmed it up, some dripping onto Hinata in the process and making him jolt slightly.   “Hurry up…” Hinata begged, pushing his fringe away from his face with the back of his hand.   “Hush,” Kageyama said as he leaned forward, propped himself up on his right hand again, and slowly pressed two fingers into Hinata. A breathy moan escaped Hinata’s lips and he pushed against Kageyama’s fingers, arms reaching above his head to grasp at the pillow. Kageyama worked him unhurriedly—gaze steady on Hinata’s face to take in each of his fevered expressions, only breaking his watch to occasionally drink up Hinata’s moans with a messy kiss.   But Hinata grew impatient. He reached down to pull at both sides of Kageyama’s boxers, succeeding in freeing Kageyama’s throbbing dick. He wrapped his legs even tighter around Kageyama’s waist, hands diving to the back of his head. “Come on, already“ he said with drawn out tug of Kageyama’s hair, his voice no longer begging, but desperately commanding.   Kageyama complied, too riled up to be able to endure teasing Hinata any longer. After rolling on the condom, he leaned forward again, his weight on his right elbow, and lined himself up against Hinata’s entrance. He inched in slowly, relishing the sharp intakes and pants Hinata made against his lips, losing himself gradually to the heat inside Hinata. When he was in to the hilt, he pulled out a bit and rolled his hips slowly, grinding hard with each deliberate thrust. Hinata dug his fingers and heels into him, taking Kageyama’s lips to muffle the insistent chorus of his own moans.   But Kageyama wanted to hear him, those whimpers and pants so knee-weakening that they would be enough to push him over the edge. He broke the kiss, holding Hinata’s hands over his head so he couldn’t pull Kageyama’s face in again, and buried his face in Hinata’s neck.   “Kageyama,” Hinata cried, “I’m close.”   “Mmn,” Kageyama moaned in agreement.   He picked up his pace—slamming in faster, deeper, urgently. Kageyama reached down and pumped Hinata’s dick in matching rhythm, swiftly making him climax with a strained moan as he spilled hot and white into his hand. Kageyama barely lasted a few seconds after him, Hinata’s sudden tightness being too much for him and bringing him crashing past the edge.   Kageyama waited until their bodies’ quivering had stilled, and slowly pulled out. Hinata gave a short whimper, teeth sinking into his bottom teeth, but soon after he let out a blissful sigh. Kageyama followed suit with a satisfied sigh of his own, and slumped next to Hinata, bodies close and feet tangled.   “…Damn, ” Kageyama breathed, pressing his damp forehead against Hinata’s. The blue of his eyes was filled with adoration. “Your writing doesn't even do you half the justice.”   Hinata’s lips curved up into a warm smile and he traced the edge of Kageyama’s ear. “Maybe you should help me with it from now on.”   “I probably should. I could guide you on writing a Kageyama that’s not out of character for once.”   “Wait…” Hinata’s eyes widened and he sat up, gasping dramatically. “Were you that annoying reader that kept dissing my characterization?”   “…No,” Kageyama denied, trying to hold back a smirk but failing miserably.   Hinata yanked the pillow from under Kageyama and hit him with it. “You were so rude!”   Kageyama blocked his face, lounging at Hinata to pull him down into a hug. “It doesn’t matter anymore. It’s in the past.”   “You hurt my feelings, though. Make it up to me,” Hinata pouted.   “Depends on what you want.”   “…Let me wear your Olympic jersey.”
“As long as you do it with nothing else on,” Kageyama retorted with a sly smile. Hinata laughed in that lovely singsong way of his and pressed his lips to Kageyama’s. “Deal.”

Chapter 3: Flashback to Us
***Disclaimer because apparently I didn't mention it when I started this story: This story is based on real events! Just about everything in this book actually happened with PTV and SWS, including the things in this chapter 😉***
September 17, 2011
I scrolled through my mentions amazed that I had so many. It wasn’t unusual that people would tag me or the band in their tweets. What was unusual was the nature of these mentions. Almost every day one of our accounts would be asked to work on music with other artists. Kids wanted us to make music with State Champs, All Time Low, or Mayday Parade. Little did they know we had things already in the works.
One of the weirdest mentions I was seeing had started in mid-June of this year. So many kids were asking for a specific feature with one specific person I’d never heard of before.
@piercetheveil can you please record with @kellinquinn? Omg @piercethevic and @kellinquinn together on a song would be AMAZING!!! Petition for @piercetheveil to have @kellinquinn on their next album. RT to sign
Who the hell was Kellin Quinn?
Almost every day for the last three months I’d been tagged in tweets asking if we’d make a song together. That was super awkward since I had no idea who this kid was, or why everyone was so obsessed with him.
“Bro, are you seeing this?” Mike asked me. “How many times are we gonna be asked to work with this dude?”
I shook my head. “No clue.” I wasn’t too interested in entertaining the tweets when the guys and I were supposed to be working on new music at that moment. We had hit a wall so we decided to take a break, which of course meant we were checking Twitter.
“I don’t know, maybe we should consider it.” We all looked to Jaime with questioning expressions on our faces. “I just mean that we wanna hit the studio soon and we only have a couple songs ready to be tracked. Maybe we could have this one with this guy.”
Jaime had a point. We were working toward a new record, and so far we had more demos than songs that were ready. We were trying to avoid writing songs in the studio but that was proving to be difficult.
“I don’t know…”
“C’mon Vic, we already reached out to Jason. What’s one more feature?” Mike was referring to me and our new label, Fearless Records, reaching out to Jason Butler of letlive. He had agreed to be featured on our new record and was going to send us some things we’d add into the song when we got to the studio.
“We don’t even know this kid. Have any of you listened to him before?” They looked at each other wondering if one of them would prove me wrong. “That’s what I thought.”
“Well, if a bunch of fans are saying it’ll be worth it then maybe it’ll be worth it.” I shot Tony a look to which he put his hands up. “Just give it a chance; that’s all I’m saying.”
I sighed. It was obvious that online peer pressure had gotten to my bandmates and they weren’t going to let this go. “Fine,” I huffed, “I’ll listen to his stuff. But if it sucks then no deal.” They didn’t care. They hi-fived each other at their accomplishment as if the feature was in the bag.
“Did you guys hear what I just said?”
“Yes, but we’re choosing to ignore your negativity.” Tony giggled at Mike’s reply.
“Whatever,” I mumbled, “let’s get back to work.”

September 20
I finally had some free time for the first time all week. Granted, it was almost midnight and I was finally settling down. I wanted to pass out more than anything, but my brother had other plans for me.
Have you listened to Kellin yet?
That was the message Mike had sent me just as I was about to start relaxing. I rolled my eyes but responded anyway.
No but I’m going to
He replied quickly: Do it now! I’m tired of waiting for you!
I rolled my eyes again and chose not to respond. Instead, I got up from my position on my couch and went to my Macbook that was resting on my desk. If Mike was texting me so late then this was important to him, and I didn’t want to be on his bad side in the morning because I ignored his request.
Where would I even start with this? I guess with a Google search. I typed the name that had flooded my mentions into the search bar and watched the results pop up. Apparently Kellin was in a band called Sleeping With Sirens, and they had just released a record. That would explain why fans were so invested in them. A new record can bring a band an influx of obsessive fans.
I scrolled down the first page of results to see what I could learn about Kellin. According to Wikipedia he was the singer in the five-piece band. The band had just released their second album, Let’s Cheers to This, in May. Their first record, With Ears to See, and Eyes to Hear, came out in 2010, the same year our second album, Selfish Machines, came out. It seemed like we were on the same timeline.
There wasn’t much else about him besides the fact that many websites said he had a high-pitched voice. I wondered how high it was and if it would sound good with my band’s sound.
I read as much as I could about the guy before I switched over to YouTube. I searched Sleeping With Sirens and was met with so many videos. The first video was for a song called “If You Can’t Hang.”
Might as well, I thought and clicked on the thumbnail.
My ears were immediately met with guitar and drums. I watched as the black screen faded in and showed a water-covered floor. Black shoes walked up to a microphone, then the beat dropped.
Each of the five guys were jamming out to their own performance. It made me want to do the same. This Kellin kid was going crazy in his American flag shirt and black skinny jeans. The introduction to the song calmed down and the camera zoomed in on his face.
Kellin was actually a kid, a literal child! He had such a baby face with his chubby cheeks and black hair falling over his eyes. I couldn’t believe that our fans wanted us to work with a tween! He almost looked too young to be taken seriously.
I decided I shouldn’t judge and focused on his voice as he sang the first verse of the song. He did have a higher voice than most male singers, but it was so smooth and melodic that you moved past it. I studied his face as he sang. The eye contact he made with the camera made me feel like he was singing to me and me alone. I wasn’t sure how I felt about that.
This video really showcased his stage presence. He was intense when he needed to be and let loose when the song called for it. It was hard to believe that such a young kid had that much talent in that situation.
The bridge of the song surprised me. His voice went up and down the octave like it was nothing. It was impressive as hell, and I needed to hear more. So I went back to the search results when the song ended and found another one called “If I’m James Dean, You’re Audrey Hepburn.”
This song was different from the first one. The music behind the lyrics was much heavier and Kellin’s hair was much longer. His voice was higher in this one too. This video was released before the first one I watched so maybe puberty had finally caught up with him.
Wait, this kid could do unclean vocals? Interesting. His voice had so much range. Maybe it wouldn’t be the worst thing to do a song with him. The song ended and I was almost convinced, but I needed to hear one more song to be sure I was making the right decision. I went back to the search results and found one more music video. This one was for the title track of their first record.
This video showed a bunch of tour moments, many of them being on stage performances as well as moments with fans. Kellin seemed to do well in all of those situations. On stage he was energetic and passionate, and off stage he was goofy and smiling.
I couldn’t deny that this kid really had my attention. He also had a cute smile, but that was something I wasn’t going to dwell on.
I was convinced that doing a song with Kellin would be a great opportunity, but I couldn’t get over how young he was. He looked like he was barely out of high school. How much experience did this kid have with working with other bands?
I did another search of Kellin and his birthday. “He’s twenty-five?!” I shouted out loud. There was no way that he was only three years younger than me. Well, at least he wasn’t a child. That made this a little bit better.
Seeing that it had gotten later than I would have liked, I turned off my computer and stood from my desk. I made up my mind about Kellin. Feeling good about my decision, I got ready for bed all while figuring out what I’d say to everyone involved.

September 22
Hey Kellin, my name’s Vic. I think you’ve seen me mentioned in tweets
I probably could’ve started that message better, but whatever, what mattered was that I sent it. I finally bit the bullet and messaged Kellin. Yesterday I bought Sleeping With Sirens’ two albums so I could really study his voice, and damn, it was amazing. After taking that extra day to be sure that I wanted to work with him, I sent the message in the morning.
There was no doubt in my mind that Pierce The Veil was going to work with Kellin Quinn, so I sent him the message through direct message on Twitter. He replied a few minutes later.
Yeah I know about you. You’re all over my tl lol
So you know that our fans want us to work together? I asked.
Yup! It’s everywhere
I smiled softly. It was good that he had seen all of those fan requests. That made this a little less awkward.
Well I’ve listened to your stuff and I think it’s a good idea. If you’re down we can get together and make a hit!
He confirmed that he was interested. Apparently he had listened to us when the requests started and was excited to have the opportunity to work with our band. That message made me smile.
Ok I’ll talk to you once we have a plan for the song and we’ll get to work!
Sounds good!

October 18
I was sitting in a chair with my guitar against my body. Tony and my friends Curtis Peoples and Steve Miller were with me in a cabin in Big Bear. I needed to write for this song with Kellin and I had no idea where to start, so I went up to the cabin to get away. The other guys offered to come up to help.
“I’m just stuck,” I groaned. I wanted this song to be perfect, but I had no idea where to start.
“Well, what are you feeling right now? Whatever it is write it down and work with it.”
I took Curtis’ advice into consideration as I leaned back into my chair. How was I feeling? I was frustrated. I wanted this song with Kellin to be perfect since so many people were expecting it. We hadn’t revealed that we were working together, but I knew that once word got out the hundreds of fans on either side would be expecting something great. I didn’t want to let them down.
I also didn’t want to disappoint Kellin. He seemed so eager to work with me and I didn’t want to give him a bad impression of my song witting. There was too much riding on this one song; I thought I was going to go insane.
I ran my fingers through my hair and gripped it. There was too much weighing on my mind, putting too much pressure on me. I knew it was one song, but it was a song so many people were counting on. That made it even more important.
An idea occurred to me in that moment. I quickly turned to the face the desk I was sitting at and wrote my thoughts down – pressure, expectations, too many thoughts, pushed past breaking point.
“Vic? You good?”
I smiled brightly as I nodded. “I think our song has a theme.”
***
January 10, 2012
“I was thinking something like, ‘push me for the last time,’ or something like that.”
I nodded. “Yeah, that could work.” I leaned over to pick up my guitar. “We also added something to the instrumental. Check it out.” I played a progression that the band was thinking of adding to the beginning of the song.
“Dude, that sounds sick!” I smiled.
Kellin and I were on a FaceTime call working on our song. We’d been having video calls a lot lately. It was easier to bounce ideas on lyrics off of each other when we could see the other’s face and hear their voice.
“Oh dude, did you get my email? I sent it pretty late last night, but you know, when inspiration strikes.”
I chuckled in agreement as I went into my emails. “No, I get it. I’m the same way. Remember, last week I sent you one at two in the morning?”
He laughed. “Yeah, maybe we should stop doing that.”
“Where’s the fun in that?”
Kellin and I were getting to know each quite a bit with these video calls. We would talk for hours before realizing how long we were on the call. Of course, we’d start by working on the song, but then we’d get off track and chat like we were lifelong friends. It really felt like we were.
Kellin was very easy to get along with. He was a really nice guy, funny, and creative as hell. His energy worked well with mine, so we found ourselves working together almost every day.
“Yeah, I like what you have so far,” I said after reading through the lyrics Kellin had emailed me. “This is really good.”
He smiled brightly at me. “Thanks! I’m glad you like it!” I couldn’t help but smile back at him. His smile was infectious, and I think I liked it more than the lyrics he sent.
“Is there a title for it yet?”
I brought myself out of my thoughts and shook my head. “Not yet. We’re hoping to have one once the song is done.”
“Cool,” he said with a nod. “We’ve been on for a while so I think I’m gonna let you go. You’ve probably got things to record or something.”
“Something like that.” I tried really hard to hide the disappointment in my voice. Hopefully he didn’t notice.
“Alright, well I’ll send you another email when I have some more stuff.”
“And sometime in the next month I’ll send you the song demos.” The band was heading to New Jersey to record our third record in February. I figured sending Kellin studio demos would give us both an idea of where the song was and what else we needed to do.
He smiled again. “Awesome! I’m looking forward to it.” I smiled back. “I’ll see you later, Vic.”
“Seeya.” We ended the call, but I stayed sitting there thinking of his smile.
***
March 16
“How was that one?” I asked Kellin from my computer screen. We were once again on FaceTime.
“Hold on.” He typed on his keyboard then called out to someone off camera. Another minute passed and I could hear the recording I had sent him played through speakers in the room.
Kellin alternated between nodding his head along to the music and typing on his computer. When the recording was done he looked at me and smiled.
“Check your email,” was all he said. I did as he asked and read over the lyrics he had just sent.
“That’s it! That’s what we should use!” He gave me a heartfelt laugh and a bright smile.
“Great! Let me record this real quick before I forget.” Kellin had called me while he was in the studio. I asked if he was ready to hear the final master for our song from my end and he agreed. All that was left was for him to send us his master and for our producer to mix both and we’d have a completed track for our fans.
I sat back against the sofa in the studio and listened to Tony in the booth as he tracked his parts for our new album, Collide With The Sky. We had about another month in the studio booked and we were trying to get everything done so we could announce the release. This was an exciting one. We had features from so many of our friends on this upcoming record. Hopefully it would be received well.
“Okay, I’m done.” I looked back down to my computer just in time to see Kellin come back into view. “Give my producer about half an hour and I’ll send you the recording.”
“Sounds good,” I spoke with a nod. He sent me a bright smile, the same one that had been constantly making my heart skip a beat lately.
“Do we have a title for this baby yet?”
“Yeah. My brother said we should call it ‘King For A Day,’ you know, because we’re talking about wanting to overcome all this shit and feel like we’re above it all.”
He nodded along to my explanation. “That works. I can’t wait to hear the finished product.”
“Me too, but trust me, we’ve got a hit.”
***
April 20
“You ready?” Jaime asked me. I chewed on my bottom lip nervously as I read over the potential post once more.
“Dude, it’s fine, just post it,” Mike said in annoyance. I took a breath. He was right, everything was the way it should be.
We had finished recording our record a couple weeks ago and had gotten the masters back. Everything was to our liking so now it was finally time for us to announce the release of our third album.
“Post it!” Tony said excitedly. I nodded at him and hit the button that sent the post to the world.
New album “Collide With The Sky” out JULY 17th! We are very excited to announce that our new album “Collide With The Sky” will be released this Summer on July 17th! We can’t wait to show you the new songs! Till then please spread the word #CollideWithTheSky
Love ya!
-PTV :)
“It’s out there,” I said with a relieved sigh. As soon as I finished speaking my phone buzzed with a new text message.
Congrats dude! I get the first copy right?
I smiled at Kellin’s message. Of course!
“Who are you texting?” I tore my eyes away from my phone to look at Mike.
“Oh, it’s just Kellin.”
“You mean your boyfriend?”
I rolled my eyes. Mike had been teasing me lately about how much time I had spent talking to Kellin in the last few months. That was necessary though; we were writing a song together. Even though I explained that to him he still found moments to make jokes. I didn’t understand why since Kellin and I were just friends. Sure, I may have found him to be adorable, but friends can think that about their friends, right?
“Kellin’s just my friend.”
Mike smirked at me. “Sure, whatever you say.”
***
May 25
“Okay boys, we need a single for this record.”
We were sitting in an office at Fearless Records with our manager and PR representative. Collide had been announced a month ago and hype was starting to slow down. We needed to keep everyone as excited about this record as possible.
“How about ‘King’?” I suggested. “We could finally reveal that we worked with Kellin, and we’d have another fanbase behind us.”
Everyone in the room looked at each other and nodded. “That’s fine with me,” our manager said. “Let me get in touch with Kellin’s people and-”
“I already did.” Jaime looked over to me with an expression I couldn’t make out. I shrugged it off and continued. “It was Kellin’s idea, actually. His management brought it up and asked him to ask me.”
“Oh,” was the only response I got.
Was it weird that Kellin and I had talked about this? No, right? That was just one of our many conversations about the song. Of course, we had talked about other things besides that, but that was our focus.
“Okay, well let’s plan for a release date.”
Once we talked everything over I sent a confirmation text to Kellin. He agreed to our plan without hesitation. I wrote out the Tumblr post shortly after.
Your boy Vic here! We’re very stoked to announce that due to the crazy amounts of requests and tweets that we’ve both been receiving, Kellin Quinn from Sleeping With Sirens and I recorded a new song together! The song is called “King For A Day” and it will be officially released and available for download on June 5th! But for those impatient souls that can’t wait that long, we will be dropping a clip of the song this Wednesday May 30th. You asked us to make it happen and we did it just for you! This song is 100% for fans of PTV and SWS! Thank you so much, can’t wait for you to hear it!
-Vic
“King For A Day” will be found on our upcoming album Collide With The Sky. Pick it up on July 17th!
We left the office feeling very proud of ourselves. This was sure to make the fans even more excited about Pierce The Veil, Sleeping With Sirens, and Collide. I wanted to ride this high forever.
Dude this is exciting! I can’t wait to release this shit! Everyone’s gonna freak the fuck out!!!
Kellin’s text made the smile on my face grow.
Hell yeah! 🤘
He sent a quick message back. This isn’t the end for us right?
Of course not! Not even close. This is just the beginning!
Good! I’d be bummed if you said yes
Maybe it was the feeling of accomplishment that I was still riding on, or the thought of Kellin still wanting to hang out with me even after the song was out. Or maybe it was the message he’d just sent that made my heart flutter. Whatever the reason, it was at that moment that I knew I’d do anything to keep Kellin in my life.

who has the best phone for under £250? – Which? News
Tumblr media
Looking for a budget smartphone used to leave you saddled with a clunky handset missing several key features, but these days you can get a great phone for less. Two brands in particular have really nailed impressive specs for a small price. Motorola prides itself on value for money, with even its highest-spec handsets failing to break the £400 mark. And while Samsung is best known for its premium Galaxy S and Galaxy Note ranges, it also has several phones for those on tighter budgets in its reasonably priced A series. Read on to find out more about each brand’s latest budget handsets. Or you can go straight to the best phones we’ve tested, and check the best Sim-only and contract phone deals to find the perfect model.
Tumblr media
Motorola and Samsung phones under £150
Let’s start with the truly budget phones. Motorola has more choice if £150 is your absolute limit, but there are some inexpensive offerings from Samsung too. If you pick a phone this cheap, expect slower processors, lower-resolution displays and pared-back cameras. It’s not all bad, though: some phones at this price point outperform premium handsets for battery life. Below we’ve pitted two of the brands’ cheapest phones against each other to see which, on paper, is the better bet. Motorola Moto G10 – £130
Tumblr media
At first glance, we’re impressed with what Motorola’s offering for the money. It comes with four rear cameras, 64GB of storage (32GB is more common at this price) and, helpfully, an IP52 rating. This means it’s protected from dust and splash damage. The 48Mp wide lens on the back is a higher resolution than we’re used to seeing on phones this cheap, and it also has an ultra-wide, macro and depth lens too. There’s a choice of fingerprint or face scanner for unlocking the phone, which should give you flexibility when you’re wearing either a mask or gloves. It’s the cheaper phone in the G range. Spending a little more on the Moto G30 (£160) gets you a higher-spec camera, better processor and more internal storage. Specs don’t tell the whole story, so see what this phone is like to live with by reading our Motorola Moto G10 review.  Samsung Galaxy A02s – £140
Tumblr media
This is about as cheap as it gets if you want a big name on a budget. Don’t expect fancy features though, as this Galaxy is pretty stripped back. It has 32GB of storage (although this can be extended), three rear and one selfie camera, and just a face scanner for unlocking the phone. Samsung claims it’s kitted out this phone with ‘streamlined design aesthetics’, and it does have an impressive screen-to-body ratio for a budget phone, with just a small notch for the front camera, like the Moto G10. You can forgive the lack of add-ons if it’s a great phone, so check how well this phone fared in our tests in our Samsung Galaxy A02s review.  Verdict There’s a lot these phones have in common, from their 6.5-inch low-resolution LCD screens, large 5,000mAh batteries and NFC for making contactless payments – a feature you can’t take for granted when your budget is this low. However, the Motorola has more processing power (4GB of Ram vs Samsung’s 3GB), runs off the latest Android version (the A02s is lagging behind on Android 10) and its four rear cameras offer more versatility than the Samsung’s three. Where the Samsung edges it is on software updates. It benefits from four years of manufacturer security patches from the date of launch, which means you can keep the phone running safely for much longer than the Motorola, which is due to stop receiving support in 21 months. Winner: Motorola Use our phone support calculator to find out if your phone is still getting updates, and how long you could expect a handset to last.
Motorola and Samsung phones under £200
Coming up to the £200 mark should get you a bit more internal storage, slightly more exciting camera setups and processors more capable of giving you a smooth scrolling experience. See which of the two sub-£200 Motorola and Samsung handsets we’ve selected offer the best value on paper. Motorola Moto G9 Power – £160
Tumblr media
The G9 Power comes with an impressive 128GB of storage, which you can even extend if that’s still not enough. The cameras show a clear step up from the sub-£150 phones, with a 64Mp wide lens on the back – a higher resolution than we usually see. The 6.8-inch screen will make it a bit unwieldy for some, but it does mean Motorola can cram in a massive 6,000mAh battery – which should be more than enough to see you through a busy day. See if this large phone ticks all your boxes with brilliant battery life, a stunning display and excellent cameras by reading our Motorola Moto G9 Power review. Samsung Galaxy A41 – £180
Tumblr media
At 6.1 inches it’s much more petite than the Moto G9 Power, but the AMOLED screen packs in more pixels than the Motorola’s LCD. These types of displays usually score brilliantly in our tests, as they show off the colours and contrast in your content beautifully. You get 64GB of storage (although this is extendable), and four cameras in total, including a 48Mp wide-lens main camera on the back, and a 25Mp selfie camera. Samsung’s One UI 2 interface (layered over Android 10) should make it as easy to use as Samsung’s pricier phones. Our Samsung Galaxy A41 review reveals how capable this cheap Samsung really is. If you’re already tempted, find the best contract deals on the A41 at Which? Mobile Switch. Verdict These Android 10 phones both have the same amount of Ram (4GB), but their strengths lie in different areas. The Motorola has more internal storage, a battery nearly twice the size, and a higher-resolution wide-lens rear camera. We have to award it to Samsung, though. It’s amazing to see an OLED screen at this price point (it should give the display a more premium feel) and you’ll get more than three years’ worth of software patches, compared with 18 months for the Moto G9 Power. Winner: Samsung
Motorola and Samsung phones under £250
Upping your budget to £250 brings in some fancier features including, in the case of the handsets below, 5G compatibility. Even if you don’t want a 5G contract straight away, it’s a good choice for futureproofing your phone. The two phones below also offer a little something extra for the money. Read on to see which you should pick based on their specs. Motorola Moto G 5G Plus – £230
Tumblr media
We’ve come to expect big screens from Motorola, so the 6.7-inch display on this phone should come as no surprise. It’s encouraging to see a 90% screen-to-body ratio, which means you can make the most of the vast size for gaming or watching videos on the move. There’s enough room for a large 5,000mAh battery, plus you get a generous 128GB of storage. It’s powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 765 processor, also found on the super-premium Samsung Galaxy S20, and has a decent 6GB of Ram to give it some heft. It’s gone big in the camera department too, with four on the rear (including a 48Mp wide lens) and two for your selfies. We put this phone through our test lab to see how it shapes up to other phones on the market. See our Motorola Moto G 5G plus review for the results. Samsung Galaxy A32 5G – £230
Tumblr media
One of Samsung’s cheapest 5G smartphones, the A32 comes with 64GB of extendable storage, a large LCD screen (6.5 inches) and battery (5,000mAh). The MediaTek Dimensity 720 processor has performed fairly well our tests before, and with 4GB of Ram it should be able to cope with most of your multitasking. It has exactly the same rear camera setup as the Motorola Moto G 5G plus, but one less selfie camera, with just a 13Mp wide lens on the front. To see if it’s one of Samsung’s best, check our full Samsung Galaxy A32 5G review. Verdict It’s great to see 4K video recording on both these phones (a step up from the cheaper handsets) and, of course, 5G compatibility. The Samsung comes equipped with Android 11 and it benefits from a long update policy, so you’ll be able to own it safely for longer. However, if you’re after the best phone for now, it’s hard to argue with the Motorola’s much higher display resolution, extra 2GB of Ram and additional selfie camera. Winner: Motorola
Why it’s important to consider mobile phone security
Tumblr media
If you want a phone that lasts, you’ll need to consider not just how sturdy the hardware is, but how long the software will last too. Security updates are vital for patching up small holes in the software that could, over time, put your data at risk of being hacked. Security update policies vary between brands, andm unfortunately, it’s usually the cheaper brands with the smallest support timescales. Two years is common for brands like Honor, Realme and Xiaomi, vs five years for Apple. Motorola is one of the more transparent of the main smartphone brands on updates. You can clearly see on its website when individual handsets are due to run out of support. However, with just two years of support from launch, you could well run out before the end of a typical two-year contract, and you’d need to upgrade straight away once it finished. Samsung is one of the leading brands for security updates. Even some of its very cheapest handsets, like the Galaxy A02s featured above, will receive four years of updates (although this hasn’t always been the case, with some cheap Samsungs getting just two years). That’s why even though Motorola won two out of three of our heats, if you’re looking for longevity, it’s better to pick a Samsung. Read our guide to phone brands that offer the best security support for more.
Should you buy Sim-free or on a contract?
If price is your main consideration, a Sim-free plan often works out cheapest overall. You’ll need to buy the handset outright (check our best mobile phone deals page for this month’s bargains), though, once set up, your monthly payments should be cheap. You can consider entering into shorter or rolling contracts that offer more flexibility. Contracts charge more per month to make up for the initial cost of the phone. However, they’re a good way of avoiding paying top whack for a premium handset, and they can help to build your credit score – as long as you keep on top of the payments. Just take care to make a note of when the contract ends, as you could end up paying the same amount after the end of the two or three-year period, once the phone is paid off. Our mobile phone contract calculator can help you check how the costs stack up for contracts and Sim-free deals. Use Which? Read the full article

a somber warmth settled over the kitchen - a wash of deep amber light pooled through the blinds from the street lamps outside, cutting through the darkness like the edges of a guillotine. lucy’s spine arced, elbows propped atop the breakfast island, a glass of red wine balanced between her fingers. she wasn’t supposed to drink on the job, much less pick and choose from their wine cabinet, but what did they know? nannying got indescribably dull after a certain hour - witching hour, when the moon cast a low silver over the skeletal branches scraping the skyline and only silence caught on the wind whistling through empty streets. this part of town was always mellow. only the rich lived here - the proper, the nice and the good american dreams, the cookie - cutter families who never had to worry over how much they spend on lunch and if it means they can only afford to eat stockpiled tinned soup the next day. so they wouldn’t miss a glass of wine or two. weren’t they too old now to pretend to be enjoying life anymore, anyway? she was practically doing them a favour.       bare feet coasted over plush carpet, the muffled sound of the television thrumming through the walls. she gazed over the wescott’s family photos. she noted how jacob seemed to be standing just a centimetre or two further from his wife, kate, with each passing year they’d neatly packed into the frozen second of an image. he was far too handsome for lucy to ever truly behave around him - but he seemed stiff as a board most nights. occasionally he’d come home after having a few too many and would be a little more talkative, but that was right before he sent her on her way with a handful of cash and a cab waiting outside and a sense that she’d missed something he’d been dangling right in front of her. but more often than not, he was a closed book she couldn’t quite pry open. she hovered outside his office for a moment - only a moment - before she repressed the faint tinge of what if i get caught? and slipped inside anyway. it was pristine; as though the last time he’d dusted and polished was just minutes before he’d left the house. she rolled her eyes, TYPICAL, and ran her fingers along the spines of books she thought looked so boring she’d rather claw her eyes out than attempt to read them.        a wicked smile fell upon her face as she sank into his plush leather desk chair. she swivelled in it merrily, the red wine almost teeming over the rim, when something caught her eye that caused her to pause. she squinted at a small tuft of white poking out between two books, as though it hadn’t been tucked away quite right. perhaps in a hurry. she stood and pulled it from between the spines. a crumpled slip of paper sat between her fingers. she furrowed her brow, unfolding it and smoothing out the creases. scrawled, bleeding ink read a complicated website address and underneath: BLUEDEVILS02. her heart bloomed, wreathing wicked vines through her ribs. what had she stumbled across? she sat at his desk and opened up his laptop, blinking blandly at the screen requesting a password. she tried the one written on the paper, but to no avail. it only took to the bottom of her wine glass for her to guess it. MARK2011. his sons name & birth year. the desktop unfolded like a prize to be won before her. her eyes glinted, finger quickly dashing across the mousepad to open up his browser. she checked his history, delicately screwing the button of her nose at the monotonous, abhorrently predictable results. it was sterile: random things probably to do with his job that she didn’t understand, a pretty in - depth search into a video game mark probably wanted, facebook, facebook, facebook. she glanced to the slip of paper and typed out the site address sloppily written on it. her eyes grew immense.       CAM GIRLS - we do what your wife won’t. a bark of a laugh leaped from her chest. she slapped a hand over her mouth, eyes aimlessly darting to the ceiling as though she’d be able to sense mark stirring should he rise. ❝ no fucking way. ❞ lucy almost began to feel a twinge of sorrow for the man. it must get so lonely up there on his pedestal - and so very, v e r y sexless. she shook her head sadly, scrolling through the pages of young girls with their legs spread, on all fours, pinned against a wall with a gag secured between swollen lips. her body flushed. perhaps he wasn’t so bland after all? a swill of unholy ideations filtered through her mind until her body radiated a slight warmth. but it was mr wescott. she’d never gone that old before. her stomach flurried, butterflies turning to small sparks, fizzling in the acid. she quickly did the math. he was only 16 years older than her. only sixteen. eventually she came across a page: archives. PASSWORD REQUIRED. her heart yammered, battering against its cage. she typed it out - BLUEDEVILS02. a plethora of filth spilled over the screen. and it was the same woman, over and over. dana. a thick sepal slipped between her teeth. she eagerly chewed upon it, her eyes scouring the dirty messages passed between the two. lucy was almost giggling with delight. ❝ oh you bad, bad boy mr wescott. ❞ a giddy ember began to flicker between her thighs. she erected her spine, lowering the laptop screen. ❝ or maybe i’m the bad one, ❞ she whispered hoarsely, shaking her head. perhaps the wine was getting to her. a thought barely had chance to emerge before she’d fished her phone from her jean shorts pocket and took countless pictures of the archived perversions littered upon the screen. a small green symbol illuminated in the right hand corner, catching her eye. her heart almost stopped.
dana: hey baby. you didn’t tell me you were coming online tonight. i thought i wouldn’t get to talk to you again until monday.
❝ oh, this is just too fucking good, ❞ she murmured, opening the chat. she typed quickly. wife out on last minute business flight. i’m all yours. she hit send. a moment later, a message bubble popped up indicating dana was typing back. lucy laughed, shaking her head. she pattered quickly to the kitchen to pour herself another glass of wine, the first still astringent on her tongue, tinging the corners of her mouth a bruised purple. she nestled back into his desk chair to find a video chat request. her thumb slipped over the webcam and she accepted, unveiling a lingerie - clad blonde strewn over a twin size mattress. thing for blondes, mr wescott? her thoughts prattled. dana’s brow furrowed, her low voice beginning to rasp through the speakers: ❝ why can’t i see you, babe? ❞ she mewled. lucy nestled her phone between her cleavage and pressed record to document the chat in a video of her own. she began typing. son in the next room. can i just watch you? i’ve missed you like crazy. lucy watched dana read the message and smile, her fingers sliding a bra strap from her slim shoulder. lucy smiled back, to herself, to her wickedness stirring something vile in her head. ❝ oh, you wanna watch me, huh? we haven’t done that in a while. enjoy, babe. try not to get so hard you can’t hide it from your boy. ❞ lucy almost laughed aloud until she reminded herself the other woman could hear her. she sat back in her seat, thumb secured over the camera, sipping upon rich merlot and letting her phone archive the whole ordeal. she placed the glass on the desk and typed with her free hand. make sure you say my name. and the woman obeyed - jake, jake, J A K E . . . lucy watched with wide eyes, flushed at the sound of his name being called so throatily, so heavily laced with lust. her heart ceased for a moment and she snapped the laptop lid shut. her hands fell upon the desk, breathing heavily, overcome suddenly with an odd sense of... guilt? no... fear? no, POWER. she stopped her phone from recording and slipped it into her pocket, kneeling before his chest of drawers. all of them were locked.       a key rattled somewhere in the distance. lucy leaped from her broken stance. ❝ oh, fuck. fuck. ❞ she swallowed the remainder of her beverage in one mouthful and tucked the empty glass behind heavy, dark curtains. ❝ no, no, no, no. ❞ the back of her hand desperately wiped her wine - stained pout as she hurried to the kitchen to slip the bottle back into the cabinet. the couple emerged, slightly disheveled ( likely from drinking ). a pleasant smile, trembling slightly at the corners, twisted lucy’s mouth upward. ❝ hey guys, good night? ❞ she cooed, resting her elbows atop the marble breakfast island, buxom chest urging between her biceps. ❝ sure looks like it. ❞
