Hi! I’m a member of QLL and just purchased a new Libra Color Kobo, but I’m having a hard time connecting to QLL on the device.
Instead of showing the books I already have on hold (in the Libby app), the display reads something like “Tap this screen to make it disappear” with a nearly blank screen -- for some reason, the device isn’t “reading” QLL (though the logo does show up). For reference, my library card registered to QLL is also registered to my local libraries.
I don’t have an Overdrive account since I registered with Libby in 2022 (when they phased out Overdrive in favor of Libby) so I’m not able to log into the device through Overdrive.
(I’m also having a heck of a time trying to get multiple libraries on my one card to connect, but that’s more of a device issue, I think.)
Any insight you can provide on how to connect QLL to the Kobo would be great. Love your library and the way you all provide queer-affirming books that my library often doesn't offer. Thank you!

We’ve got a few fellow Kobo users here at QLL, so we understand your frustration. This is a known issue and a bit of a tricky one, as Kobo doesn’t have native Libby support (something beyond our control!) and since we are technically a private library, we don’t show up in the public library search results on OverDrive’s website to connect to your OverDrive account (also beyond our control, but we’re trying to find a solution!)
It is possible to read QLL books on Kobo, though. You’ll need to log in to QLL directly on your Kobo device. You can see how to do that in Kobo’s help section under the section titled Set up OverDrive on your eReader. basically, you’ve got to:
go to settings, then ‘overdrive'
click ‘add a library’ and search for us
then you have to scan the QR code which appears
login/authenticate from the device you used to scan the code
once you do that it should give you access
Unfortunately, Kobo doesn’t support logging into multiple libraries at once (a decision that baffles us, frankly). If you’d like to switch between library accounts, you’ll need to log out of one and log into the other each time. I know it’s a pain, and I wish I had a better solution.

OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN THIS SWEEPSTAKES
 1. SWEEPSTAKES DATES AND TIMES: The “Warby Parker Shops at Farmington Valley Sweepstakes” (“Sweepstakes”) begins on or about 11:00 AM Eastern Time (“ET”) on January 25, 2025 and ends on or about 11:59:59 PM ET on January 26, 2025 (the “Sweepstakes Period”). 
2. ELIGIBILITY: This Sweepstakes is open only to individual legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (excluding Rhode Island) and the District of Columbia, at least 18 years of age (or the age of majority in his or her state of residence if greater than 18) on date of entry. Employees of Warby Parker Inc. (“Warby Parker” or “Sponsor”) and such employees’ immediate family members (parents, spouses, siblings, children, and grandparents, regardless of where they reside), and members of the same household (whether legally related or not), and their respective affiliates, subsidiaries, parent companies, and advertising and promotion agencies are not eligible to enter or to win. Parties that are under any obligation, contractual or otherwise, that would limit or impair Sponsor’s ability to use the Entry as set forth in these Official Rules, and parties that are under a merchandising or similar agreement that would restrict exploitation of any right related to the Entry, are also not eligible to enter or to win. 3. HOW TO ENTER: To enter the Sweepstakes, you first need to visit Warby Parker’s new retail store opening at The Shops at Farmington Valley in Canton, CT during opening hours in the Sweepstakes Period. During your visit to the store you must scan a QR code to fill out a sweepstakes entry form  (the “Sweeps Form”) with your name and email address to be entered into the Sweepstakes (an “Entry”).
All Entries must also comply with the Entry Requirements set forth in Rule #4 below in order to be eligible. Entries not submitted in accordance with the instructions provided in these Official Rules are subject to disqualification, in the sole discretion of the Sponsor. For the purposes of these Official Rules, receipt of Entry occurs when you hit submit on the Sweeps Form. Sponsor shall not bear any responsibility for any late, lost or misdirected Entries. All Entries become the property of Sponsor.
4. ENTRY REQUIREMENTS: By participating in the Sweepstakes, you warrant that your Entry:
(a) does not contain any use of names, likenesses, photographs, or other identifying elements, in whole or in part, of any person, living or dead, without permission (proof of which must be provided to Sponsor upon request in a form satisfactory to Sponsor);
(b) does not infringe or violate the rights of any third party, including but not limited to copyrights, trademarks, logos, copyrighted material not owned by you (other than Sponsor-related materials), contract and licensing rights, rights of publicity or privacy, moral rights, and any other intellectual property rights;
(c) is not subject to any third party agreements, and that Sponsor will not be required to pay or incur any sums to any person or entity as a result of its ownership, acquisition, use, or exploitation of the Entry or rights therein;
(d) does not contain hateful content of any kind (including without limitation racism, sexism, etc.), content which promotes violence or harm to another living creature, or any other offensive, obscene, or inappropriate content, the determination of which shall remain in the sole discretion of Sponsor;
(e) does not promote any activity that may appear unsafe or dangerous; and
(f) does not contain reference to any political agenda or party.
You indemnify Sponsor from and against any cause of action, complaints, or other claims arising out of the breach of any of the foregoing warranties.
Each Entry may only be submitted by a single email user. Multiple entrants are not allowed to share the same email address. By entering the Sweepstakes, you represent and warrant that you have obtained all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions in writing from any person (or parent/legal guardian if person is a minor) or whose name may appear in the Entry. If, in the sole discretion of Sponsor, you have breached a representation or warranty contained herein, the Entry will be subject to disqualification. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any Entry if, in Sponsor’s sole discretion, it considers an Entry inappropriate in any way or otherwise not in compliance with these Official Rules. Sponsor reserves the right to not award the Prize in the event it does not receive any eligible Entries. Decisions of Sponsor are final and binding.
5. DRAWING: A potential winner (“Winner”) will be selected in a random drawing on or about January 27, 2025 from among all eligible Entries received. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. Designation as the Winner is subject to the potential Winner’s proof of compliance with these Official Rules, continued compliance with these Official Rules, and approval by Sponsor. The decisions of Sponsor are final and binding in all matters relating to this Sweepstakes, including interpretation and application of these Official Rules.  
6. NOTIFICATION OF WINNER:  One (1) Potential Winner will be notified by the Sponsor by email on or about January 27, 2025. 
The potential Winner will be required to follow the instructions provided by Sponsor and respond via email within the time frame specified. The potential Winner may be required to sign and properly execute an Affidavit of Eligibility and Publicity/Liability Release (where legal) (collectively, the “Release”) and return the Release via email (and subsequently by mail) to Sponsor within the time frame specified. The potential Winner may also be required to perform additional clearance requests at Sponsor’s discretion. Upon receipt and confirmation of documentation, the potential Winner will be named a “Winner”. If the potential Winner fails to properly execute and return all information and/or documents described herein in the time specified by Sponsor, or if the potential Winner declines to accept the Prize, or if the potential Winner is found not to be eligible or not in compliance with these Official Rules, the potential Winner may be disqualified and, at Sponsor’s discretion and time permitting, an alternate winner may be selected (subject to all verification and eligibility requirements of these Official Rules) even if the disqualified potential Winner’s name may have already been shown or announced online.
In addition, you acknowledge and agree that Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any potential Winner at any time, in its sole discretion, on the basis of anything contained in, or learned or obtained as a result of, the submitted Release or any other forms requested by Sponsor that, in Sponsor’s sole opinion, would constitute a breach of these Official Rules or any such forms, inclusive of any proof of permission that Sponsor may request in its sole discretion.
7. PRIZES: Winner will receive one (1) Warby Parker gift card in the amount of $145 and four (4) ski lift passes to Ski Sundown Resort (“Prize”). Prize is non-transferable; no substitutions allowed, except at the discretion of Sponsor. All details of Prize shall be determined solely by Sponsor. Allow 6-8 weeks for delivery of Prize, pending winner verification. Approximate retail value (ARV) of Prize is $545.
8. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY: Neither Sponsor nor any of its parents, subsidiaries, and affiliates, nor any of their respective officers, directors, shareholders, agents, and employees, nor Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, or any Internet access providers (collectively “Releasees”) are responsible for: incorrect or inaccurate entry of Entry information; human error; technical malfunction; lost/delayed data transmission; omission; interruption; deletion; defect; failure of any telephone, computer, or other network or of any computer equipment, software, or any combination thereof; inability to access Instagram; late, lost, damaged, misdirected, incorrect or incomplete Entries; or any other problems or errors related to the Sweepstakes. Entries that do not comply with these Official Rules, as determined by Sponsor, will be subject to disqualification from the Sweepstakes.
9. LICENSING OF ENTRY:  By entering this Sweepstakes, and to the extent allowed by law, you grant Sponsor and each of its affiliates, licensees, promotional partners, advertising and promotion agencies, and third party marketing entities a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, sub-licensable, unconditional, fully paid-up, and transferable license to use, edit, modify, cut, rearrange, add to, delete from, copy, reproduce, translate, adapt, publish, exploit, and use the content of and elements embodied in the Entry in commerce and in any and all media worldwide, without limitation or compensation to you, as well as the absolute right and permission to use your name, Instagram username, biographical data, photograph or other likeness (including your Instagram profile photograph), and prize information. 11) DISPUTES/CHOICE OF LAW: The laws of the United States govern the Sweepstakes. All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these Official Rules, or the rights and obligations of you and Sponsor in connection with the Sweepstakes, shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with, the laws of the State of New York, without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict of law rules or provisions (whether of the State of New York or any other jurisdiction), that would cause the application of the laws of any jurisdiction other than the State of New York.

active since 2016, RAEVIL raised up a storm with their controversial yet very popular debut! during their first two years of promoting, GLASSHOUSE occasionally teased about their upcoming lightstick, but refused to officially announce anything. finally, after almost three years since their debut, the company informed that their first lightstick was in the making.

officially called EVILBONG, RAEVIL's first lightstick was complimented for looking sleek yet fitting their concept to a t. the lightstick features a white dome, with the group's unofficial logo in the centre of a circle surrounded by vines. right underneath the orb, there is a brooch with a 3d serpent design, which fans connected with RAEVIL's second single, SERPENT, which was released a year before. the handle has the group's name engraved into it, and there's an option for NEMESIS to buy a special version where they could submit their name / alias to be engraved at the back of the handle.
after the lightstick dropped, there were so many photos and selfies of members holding it and waving it around with lights turned on. the lightstick's manual came as a mini booklet, with members featured inside, showing how to use the lightstick with different modes. they were made to look like they came out of a comic book, which fans loved to see because it was the first time the group did something so cute since their debut.

released on the group's seventh anniversary, REALBONG is significantly more popular than EVILBONG, which says a lot, considering the first lightstick received almost a million pre-orders not even two weeks after being announced. the second one doubled that during the same period, making it the most wanted lightstick from GLASSHOUSE artists. the new design is made to look like a dome cage instead of their simple look and the lights are coming from the crystal inside of the cage, made to look like a torch once turned on. instead of their signature serpent brooch, REALBONG has an intricate design that no one seems to guess correctly as to what it is. the buttons to use the lightstick are in the back instead of the front, are easy to use and fans are able to swing it around with no worries they'll accidentally press the lightstick off.
this time, instead of a booklet manual, the fans received a simple QR code printed on the box, which, upon being scanned, would bring them to GLASSHOUSE's official website, where they'd be able to watch private video instructions of RAEVIL members showing how to turn it on and the modes it has. the idea of getting such an interesting manual received considerable attention, that it prompted someone to leak it on social media for people who don't have their lightstick or are not even their fans.

Rating election campaign materials that came through my door this morning (alphabetical):
Alba: Fairly standard double sided A5. Front side has a nice pic of the candidate, his name and the constituency clearly visible. There's a bunch of hashtags and a QR code I'm not bothering to scan. Big claims about scottish independence. Back side has a list of 6 priorities, 4 of which are pretty good, 1 of which I'm unsure about, and 1 of which is transphobic. Another QR code I'm not going to scan.
3/10 incredibly middle of the road and generic material, relying on transphobia is bad, about 80% of the space is dedicated to "INDEPENDENCE" with no real elaboration
Greens: No campaign materials

Labour: Double sided half A4 (split lengthways so it's super long). Front side has pictures of Sunak, Truss, and Johnson with "14 YEARS OF TORY CHAOS IS COSTING US ALL". Back side has more generic anti tory sentiment, a QR code I'm not scanning, a claim that "Tory chaos" has cost me £5,883 (no mention of how they got that number) since 2019, an instruction to "Vote for change. Vote Labour".
1/10 Literally no mention of who the Labour candidate is? Or the name of the constituency? Seems bizarre to have pictures of 3 Tory ex-prime ministers but not even the name of who you're actually putting forward? Entire argument is based on the idea that Labour would be better than the Tories, which seems irrelevent considering the constituency is currently held by SNP?
Lib dems: honestly I nearly forgot to even include them in the list, no campaign materials

Reform UK: Standard double sided A5. Front side has name of candidate and constituency, as well as pictures of Farage (party leader) and Tice (who is apparently the party chairman). Anti immigration and anti refugee sentiment as expected. "Zero Waiting Lists" - no elaboration. Back side is completely focused on immigration, many links to social media and the party website and phone number
0/10 relies entirely on anti immigration sentiment with no other policies except "Zero Waiting Lists", which is not expanded on at all
SNP: Folded pamphlet which equates to 3 double sides of A5. Side 1: SNP Logo and last name of the candidate. Side 2: Testimonies from a WASPI campaigner, a union rep, a "social justice campaigner", and a doctor (this one focuses on Gaza and is explicitly praising the candidate for showing solidarity with Palestine). Side 3: Candidate in front of scottish flag, 5 generic campaign statements I largely agree with, links to email, phone, website, and socials. Side 4: Candidate in front of building, full name clearly present. "Dear friend," followed by a 20 point plan. Points focus on workers rights, improving benefits, directly helping the local community, ensuring compensation for people affected by 3 major scandals, stopping arms sales to Israel and recognising Palestine as a state. Side 5: Picture of big ben, anti westminster sentiment, 4 steps to address the cost of living crisis. Side 6: Picture of the candidate in a suit. Direct call to re-elect the candidate. Reminder about needing voter ID and when polling stations are open.
9/10 The only material to mention Gaza at all. Only material that included a reminder about needing ID to vote and when you can actually vote. Didn't rely at all on bashing trans people, immigrants, or anyone aside from the Tories (which was restrained to a single line about them crashing the economy). Very little mention of scottish independence, which I thought was strange. Very focused on the positive things they planned to do and clear that it was tailored for this constituency, rather than a generic "Vote for this party" with someone's name slapped on it.
Tories: No campaign materials

Based solely on campaign materials it's pretty clear who has actually put effort in. Unsurprised to have had nothing from the Tories because they have no chance here, surprised to not hear from the Greens though.

IDK how nobody else in this thread has brought this up. The only place on Cariona's website where any of this is mentioned is at the bottom of their About Us page. It is completely hidden from customers throughout the standard purchasing process and then sprung on you when your order arrives.
They only issue refunds if you can prove that your order arrived incorrect or defective, meaning that you cannot get your money back out of missionary pockets if you learn that that's where your funds went after the fact and are unhappy about it like I was.
Also, a lesser concern but still worth mentioning: They claim that these pads are machine washable. Not once have I run these things through a machine and had them come out looking any cleaner than they did going in. I always have to handwash them. Which is a pretty uncool surprise when you have chronic hand pain.
There are other reusable menstrual pad companies out there that you can buy from instead of this one. Go give your money to a marginally less shady company.
