Some Murder Drones Episode 7 screenshots I thought were interesting and my thoughts on them :>

Nori, despite being a middle aged woman with a child, appears to be an Otaku or otherwise likes "edgy" and "scene" stuff, as well as listening to nightcore, very much like her daughter. Good for her tbh you're never too old to have fun

She also has a photo of Khan and what I can only assume is baby Uzi, though it appears to have blue eyes, but maybe it's just the lighting. Still very cute she has a pic of her husband

As well as all the previously mentioned Otaku stuff, she also drew herself as an anime character. She has a skinsona. Phenomenal (pos)

Nothing much here, just Uzi coughing up blood. Girl got the goop (gore) inside of her already

Lab Space. Apparently the Church was just down there and not even the humans know why. The canonicity of this is questionable; it could just be a joke

OT, as per google, stands for "Occupational Therapy". Makes sense for the context, and makes the bottom text funnier

"Fun Time To Universe Big Crunch: 87". The Big Crunch is a hypothetical way the Universe could end, where the universe folds on itself and shrinks into a single point. 87 "what" I don't know. If it's months, that 7 years and 3 months

Honestly the Murder Drones lore is super confusing. I think what this is trying to say is that every other Zombie Drone is doing poorly, (Except for Yeva), they are trying to reactivate 002 (Nori) via the USB. I'm not sure what this means. Maybe they only got the results they wanted from the two of them, and are trying again with Nori since she was the only other one that worked (also why they got Yeva when she failed; this may all be referring to how the episode opened up) Also, the date says SER. As revealed in the episode Cabin Fever, Copper-9 has months that Earth does not. SER most likely stands for Seramorris, the month revealed in that episode

We get the names of a bunch of other Worker Drones. Unfortunately for all 029 fans, her name was not visible. (also can someone tell me what "JWEB" could be short for?) And Yeva is said to have a patch. That may be the crucible thing idk

Cyn (which I will be calling this version Skyn [Skin + Cyn]) apparently took of the space suit just to give Doll the Withered Foxy jumpscare. Honestly really terrifying. If this photo was teased before release I think the fandom would've exploded

The MDs, Cyn's pets. Nori refers to them as "Nerfed" so the "Entity" can ensure control, and says they were made to destroy other hosts. I don't know why Cyn would want them dead, but I'm not the loremaster here. YouTube line is there because I couldn't be bothered after the Railgun image

Probably already confirmed, but doubly confirmed that a symptom of the Solver is giving Drones organic insides. A Worker Drone body with a rib cage and guts. I wonder what would happen if the infection continued uninterrupted (also R.I.P. Doll I loved you :frown:)

I'm sure everyone noticed, but when Uzi tried to manipulate Tessa, the ERROR noticed appeared. Already hinting Tessa is not all she says she is

Apparently the Solver can create Black Hole Saws. Interesting development (Blackhole Blitz)

I know most people (I think) see this as a joke and N just being a bit of goofball. But honestly, I think he did it intentionally to shock Cynuzi and give Nori a chance. In the Pilot, he licked V's sword to surprise her too, which means he isn't unfamiliar with doing something weird and surprising for the advantage

Skyn eating Doll's core. R.I.P. Doll again. Seriously, was that Doll in Core Form like Nori was? Or was Nori a fringe case because she was "Exorcised" and this is just a regular core? Questions, questions. Also yeah the Solver also gives you a Core. Fun

This tag makes me think that this body is Cyn's actual body. Not longer a hologram, but her actual body from the mansion. The reason Tessa gave N, J, and V their names was because that was the first letter of their Serial Designation (she's very uncreative). However, Cyn's tag was slightly faded, which meant her SD couldn't be seen, so Tessa gave her the name "Cyn" after her P/N, even though the other 3 already have the same P/N as Cyn (Tessa, again, is very uncreative)...

...and for some reason, Cyn or the Solver, which ever theory you subscribe to, decided to wear Tessa as a skin suit for some twisted reason. It did help her with the Captcha. Also scary because this doesn't have the right proportions for an adult (unless Cyn really forced that skin on), which leads me to believe that this is a Younger Tessa, and she faked having an older voice. Maybe I shouldn't call her my wife... I'm sure Eldritch J is still available :^)

(Seriously, the eyes are burnt out, leaving two eye holes over the visor, so she gives herself two X eyes so it looks better. Also yeah we found out what that thing on the "It Came From Copper-9" poster came from. It really was Cyn or Skyn)

Just a frame of the final...frame... for coolness. I'm probably also going to use this for a background. Also, this is definitely Copper-9. You can see the ring and ringless moon together on the right. Uzi somehow got sent to orbit after falling in the meat hole

This is going to seem really out of left field, but how do you (and everyone else on Tumblr) capture such neat, perfectly cropped pictures of posts, blogs, etc.? I feel like I may be missing something obvious, because it seems everyone else has figured it out.

Depends on how you’re accessing tumblr! If I’m on mobile (which is most of the time) I just take a screenshot. That’s pressing the volume up and power buttons simultaneously on Apple, and I think it varies from Android to Android.

If I’m on desktop, I usually use a built in screen capture tool. On my Windows, that’s the Snipping Tool. I’ve never used Mac or Linux so I can’t help you there.

Once you’ve taken the screenshot you can edit and crop it in most photos apps. Be aware that you can’t add the water filter on desktop though!

How do you take pictures of the whole dens in aj?

TOOLS REQUIRED:

screenshot tool (preferably with a timer delay. not required but greeky told me about this recently and it makes my job so much easier lol)

any sort of editing program, preferably with layers and opacity features. i use clip studio but in the past used ms paint. not impossible but way harder than other programs

STEPS:

pick your den of choice. any size works, just keep in mind the larger it is the more editing youll have to do. if youre able to, hide your animal behind a piece of furniture so you dont have to crop it out later.

get a small item, and open your snipping tool. set a delay, the number doesnt really matter but i use the shortest because im impatient 🤷 click to take a new screenshot, and before the delay goes off click and hold the small item. this hides the entire UI and gives you a clean frame of your den.

just go around the screen doing this, copypasting your screenshots into your editing program as you go along. i like to line them up as i go but if youre someone who prefers to do that afterwards then have fun. for the small item, just go back over after you've removed it and screenshot the area it was and paste it over top.

for each screenshot, lower the opacity to about 50% and try to line the pixels up with one another. for animated objects, screenshot on the frame you like best and just put that over top. large animated den sections like waterfalls or bubbles are a bit harder, try to get as much of them into one image as you can and try to frame match.

do it enough times, and you should end up with something like this! this one had about 14 screenshots total, but larger dens of mine such as my sky kingdom had.... 113 total. anyway, hope this helps!

NOVICE VP TIPS FROM A NOVICE VP-ER

So, I had a couple people mention wanting to know about my set up for that one netrunner Vaye shot, and I figured why not just throw some stuff together for that?

I'm still learning a toooooon about shooting VP. There's so much I still don't know, and I'm definitely still a novice here. This is just stuff that's worked for me so far but if it could help someone else getting started in VP, then I want to share.

Putting it all below a cut because this is kinda long and I included screenies, as well as a list of links to mods and stuff I use.

📸I should preface that framing and composition are the best tools for taking VP, just like real world photography. Looking at movies, fashion shoots, etc for inspo/pointers is an invaluable asset. You can take amazing shots using vanilla tools alone. Also, I've seen other folks mention it in tips/tutorials, tightening your field-of-view/FOV is key.

Lighting is the second thing. Lighting techniques vary depending on what you want to achieve. In this case, I wanted nice two-toned rim lighting with a brighter (white) edge to make the character stand out from the background. For me, I'm pulling from the same pool of knowledge I use to render light in art. In general, if you're using two-tone light, images tend to benefit from contrasting/complimentary tones. Warm/cool, etc. I went with turquoise and purple here to compliment V's suit and hair and make the warm notes pop.

I'm not gonna throw down a ton of screenshots (still, there's quite a few), and recreating this was impossible, but I this is basically how I set up the lights:

Using CharLi, spawn a favela, lower intensity + range (so I'm not staring at the sun), disable object meshes.

2. Fiddle with radius and rotation until it's ballpark where I want it, then tweak the color.

3. Duplicate this light, set it back to white, fiddle with position again to get white rim light.

4. Spawn a new favela and do the same process for the other side with my secondary color (pictured before I turned meshes off).

5. Lather, rinse, repeat for a secondary white rim light (I don't have that light selected in the menu here, but you can see it's active). Sometimes it's helpful to fiddle with the lights' X/Y/Z positions and scale lower in the menu as well.

6. I spawned another light for a little bit of wash lighting here because why not?

7. And then I fine tune light positions, frame my shot, and snip snap. I'm not going into ReShade or hotsampling because I'm still learning the ins and outs of those and that's a lot of personal preference stuff too.

Taking a screenshot on Windows 11 is easy! You can use several methods depending on your needs. Here are the most common ways:

1. Capture the Entire Screen (Print Screen Key)

Press the PrtScn (Print Screen) key on your keyboard.

This saves a screenshot of your entire screen to the clipboard.

Open an app like Paint, Word, or Photoshop and press Ctrl + V to paste it.

2. Save Screenshot Directly to File (Windows + Print Screen)

Press Windows + PrtScn.

The screen will dim briefly, and the screenshot will be saved automatically in:

This PC > Pictures > Screenshots

3. Capture the Active Window (Alt + Print Screen)

Press Alt + PrtScn.

This captures only the active window and copies it to the clipboard.

Paste it into an image editor (Ctrl + V).

Open the Snipping Tool.

Click the Timer icon (e.g., 3, 5, or 10 seconds delay).

idk if youve answered this before but how do you take screenshots of the show on netflix? ive been trying to find a loophole for that for ages, its just so annoying to screenshot on third party sites.

I don't have netflix and I didn't even know it was on netflix again lol so unfortunately all I can share is that I use the windows snipping tool with windows+shift+s and then the images go in the Screenshots folder. Sometimes I use this chrome extension called "Video Screenshot" depending on what I'm doing, it says it works on Netflix but it doesn't ever capture captions in my experience. I add captions in Canva sometimes if they're really messed up or not available

A handful of iconing tips & tricks that you may or may not already know.

Always lock your aspect ratio when scaling icons!

Don't scale your icons up- at least, not without a dedicated upscaling program / service. Upscaling with most programs' transform tools will look messy. Try to get the highest resolution scans / images you can and scale down.

Set the filter for your program's scaling tools to bilinear. I'm sure there are other options that get clean results, but whatever you do, don't set it to nearest neighbor, or you'll get crunchy / pixelated results. ( if you want pixelated results, I suggest using a filter instead. )

Windows often come with a free program called Snipping Tool already installed. You can bring up the snipping tool by pressing the Windows key + Shift + S at the same time, and set it to take caps of your screen, individual program windows, or a rectangle you click and drag. I recommend using the lattermost option.

You can also set snipping tool to automatically save any of your screenshots to a dedicated folder, though you will need to launch the program itself to access those settings instead of using the hotkey. This makes gathering caps quick and seamless- just click & drag away!

Many video players will let you use the , & . keys to go through the video frame-by-frame. Helpful for capping icons from animated sources.

You can use some programs' features to save your icons out all at once, layer by layer. What steps you need to take in order to set that up depends on your preferred program's capabilities, but I've made a tutorial for how to do it my program of choice ( Krita ) over here!

Hold on a sec. I have SN too and SN/TSN doesn't let me screenrecord or screenshot with my computers screenrecorder. Or even my phone. Windows and mac. Which screenrecorder do you use?

Hi ! My phone has just always let me screen record so I can't help you with mobile unfortunately 😭 for your computer if you're getting the black screen try disabing hardware acceleration for your browser. here's an article on how to do so (as well as some other options). In regards to the actual screen recorder I use, I just use the "snipping tool" which is a program that comes with windows, you should be able to search for it in your programs. this tool doesn't override the black screen so you'll have to try it once youve disabled hardware acceleration. I'm sure there's other programs out there that you can use but this is just the most convenient for me :)

I like to ask a question about your Sonic Underground retrospectives. I'm hoping to do something similar with another DiC Animation show, Mary-Kate and Ashley in Action! (I won't do every episode sadly as there's 7 missing in English atm. Yeah *that* show is partially lost media. I might do them later if they get found.)

What was your process when doing these retrospectives, especially regarding notetaking and writing down your thoughts on each episode? And with the screencaps, did you take them as you watched the episode, or were there also some screencaps where you had to go back and capture specific moments to highlight?

wow, i did those about 6/7 years ago- it’s been a while but i’ll try my best to remember how i did them.

while watching the episode i’d take very short,quick notes on anything that came to mind, pausing the episode if needed. iirc I used notepad on desktop to take notes, but the notes app on your phone or a physical notebook would also work.

Then, i’d open Word and turn those quick notes into longer, fully formed sentences, adding analysis. After, I’d open up the episode again and take the relevant screenshots. At the time SU was on Netflix and that’s what i was watching the show on. I had to use the Snipping Tool to get around their anti-share measures

There’s probably more efficient ways of doing the above, since it’s a four-part process if you include copying all this to tumblr, but it’s the best that 17 year old me could come up with.

figured out how to fix the quality issue with the pixel art pieces!!! yayyy!!! yippee!!! i think its something with how the png is saved on mspaint. I used the snipping tool to take a screenshot and it gave me the sharp clear pixels i wanted. Now i have to figure out how to do it with larger canvas sizes... does my suffering ever end? /j
