i know the premise of the game is that v is running on borrowed time we get vik telling us right away that we only have a "few weeks" and i get it, a sense of urgency is important to any game

BUT

i think there's something far more tragic in the relic process taking months and not just weeks and i'm not coming from a silverv standpoint here i mean think about it a few weeks, maybe a single month is a blink in the grand scheme

it might feel longer to v while their brain is being rewritten but it's still not a long time

drag that suffering out into a few months though? put johnny through more time watching them degrade?

that's tragic

give them that time to work through their shit as two broken people give them time to form even more of a bond and when those months of truly running on fumes to exhaust all options finally come to an end, can you tell me that's not more painful than cramming it all in to a couple weeks?

it's one thing for v to fall apart quickly to degrade quickly and probably have a better grasp of exactly how bad it is and when there's no going back

but i know from personal experience that sudden injury doesn't quite hit as hard as waking up one morning and realizing your body has slowly failed you and you don't know when exactly you'll notice the next decline

i dunno

i've been in my head about this game again with everything we play v through, i just think the tragedy tastes better when it's not swift

How do I confidence in my own ideas to present them to the public?

Simple, you present the ideas, ask for peoples opinions but also just you put in as much excitement into presenting it as you did making that idea.

Why do you think no one responds to what I say? It's because while I do have a lot of enthusiasm for my ideas I don't put in that energy. Hence lack of response.

If you want people to take interest in your ideas, put your vigor into it, otherwise no one's gonna care. Don't insult, be respectful and just be excited about what you want to say.

I got ahold of a copy of JPN Emerald some time ago.

I'm beginning to prep for a playthrough, as well as doing research on ACE and decamark.

I got the silly idea to try and get myself a Decamark egg that hatches into a Mew, in conjunction with what's needed to shiny hunt the faraway island mew.

you did something similar right?

I know there is a way to make Mew hatch from an egg, but it’s… incredibly complicated and I think you need a computer and to dump the file.

So if your talking just using the cartridge and a Gameboy, then no, you cannot get a mew to hatch from an egg. The Decamark is simply a device/step you do in order to arrive at the faraway island to shiny hunt or catch the mew!

The Decamark itself is often what will hatch from a Bad Egg or Glicthed Egg, as the egg has not pokemon attached and when you hatch it; the game either crashes or a decamark shows up to take the absent place! You’ll be using a decamark in Emerald to change the IDs of two specific gift pokemon to obtain the Good Egg you need for the step, as well as 50 random bad eggs that will threaten your livelyhood lmao

Decamark is multi generational glitch that acts as a place holder/visual representation of glicthed things. Not exclusive to Emerald or Mews, but is a large part in obtaining a Mew in Emerald, hence my association ;3

Anyways, unless you have a game shark, enjoy the 50+ hour prep time and your unknown hunt time! /g

PA: If you find a shiny before you make it to faraway island. DO NOT USE IT. SHOVE IT IN A BOX. You can RNG Manipulate yourself the shiny mew using the PID/SID of that shiny Pokémon to identify your Emerald seed as shiny hunting is frame based, not change based. You’ll only find a shiny if you encounter a Pokémon on a shiny frame. Which out of 56k looping frames there’s maybe like 60-100 shiny frames randomly distributed.

I just woke up but I have something to say and don't come for me.

Johnny deserves the flak for being an asshole. He was/is. And as a Johnny lover I support him catching that flak.

But (and this isn't some petty fandom dig) I always see Kerry getting put up on this "goodest boy" pedestal and I don't get it. Kerry’s writing deserves more than that, in my opinion. He's done shitty things too and I see a lot of it just sorta ignored, but those flaws are what give him depth.

Yeah, he is a depressed, tormented rockstar (for lack of a better boil-down) who's been Going Through It™️ for 50 years. But he's also a divorcee with kids he (seemingly) does not, and has never really, prioritized.

I know it's the nature of Night City, but I still also think it's worth a mention how he was going about handling the Us Cracks girls. Blowing up the van, sure fine whatever. Literally waving a gun in their faces in their dressing room? More than a little unhinged. Especially when he's in music the industry too and knows first hand how managers fuck over their clients - case and point Kovachek doing the same to him in real time during that ordeal.

I'm not saying Kerry is a bad person. I'm just saying he's not some UwU golden boy either and he deserves to have his fucked uppery recognized more.

It's easy to forget that Johnny kept like-minded company most of the time and that includes Kerry. Kerry is still a rockerboy and rockerboys are still, in general, agents of chaos. Just because he didn't nuke the city and manipulate his band mates, doesn't mean he's the "good one" in the group.

And I'm begging ya'll not to take this as someone kind of Kerry hate post because it's not. I might not post a ton of Kerry content but I do love him. He's a great character and I honestly need to read more of his ttrpg stuff and commit it to memory. Ultimately, this is really just me rambling about folks defanging the poor guy.
