New Alien OC Just Dropped

So in this universe I'm building, all extraterrestrial beings are actually extremely mutated and/or genetically-modified versions of humans and/or other Earthling species. I figured I'd add cat-people since this is humanity making these aliens and there's got to be at least one weeaboo scientist who wanted to make catgirls real.

The Neko race was among the first of the Post-Human races to ever evolve, engineered by an ancient American geneticist who was obsessed with Japanese entertainment. In memory of their founding father, Neko culture and society is based entirely off of anime and tokusatsu.

Like all other post-Humans, Nekos are native English speakers, but they incorporate bastardized Japanese words and phrases into their speech patterns in a way most Earthling-Humans would consider "weeaboo-esque." For example, despite there being no plurals in the Japanese language, Nekos will still pluralize Japanese words. As expected of a culture based entirely off of weeb shit, the recent liberation of Earth and the recovery of Japan has resulted in many Nekos embarking in pilgrimage to the area, only to be hit with a severe case of Paris syndrome as they realize it bears little resemblance to their own anime-derived culture, and there are no English subtitles.

Had this guy in my head for months because I feel like I can’t just slap down a character on here without giving a page of context for them but I’ve been doing some art for an ask about Sylvaine so that motivated me.

Quick ref but this is Selim, he’s part of Sylvaine and Serkan’s storyline. He’s a Hox Stray species that evolved and developed seal traits. At first I had written him out as this background character and then I fell for him (This seems to keep happening to me).

Funnily enough apparently it was ‘seal day’ some time ago??? Always wanted to make some seal folk. He was meant to be.

while i work on art for a friend and get things sorted out with this project (including a few potential retcons) Here's this concept sketch of a variety of Tivarapods on Irou, the Homeplanet of the Ikleud.

The Ikleud and all other Tivarapods have a segmented body plan determined at birth by a set of instructions similar to hox genes. The Tivarapods with fewer pairs of limbs accidentally had one or two of their segments deleted but managed to thrive long enough to become their own entire orders.

While i figure out how to flesh out the Tivarapods i can upload the work I've done for the Radiathopods. The phylum of radially symmetrical invertebrates the Ruuik hail from

Sa-Shi-Ha is trying to muster the courage to tell HOX her feelings towards him. She just caught him in the middle of his gardening.

This one was fun to work on, especially because I got to draw interesting aliens and a cool environment (totally based on the greenhouse from Silent Running).

You know what's funny? Star Control 2 seems to be a game made for me, but I've not gotten the chance to even purchase it. Perhaps I should, once I've finished a few of the tens of games I have waiting on the queue.

Was a bit down in the dumps today and decided to draw one of my favorite creatures, the Tardigrade!!

Known for their resilience in the most extreme of conditions, the tardigrade or moss bear/water piglets is one unique creature! Fun fact(probably one of my favorites as well): Tardigrades lack Hox genes(genes which tell the organs where to be positioned in the body),meaning that their organs float around inside their bodies.

Anyway, hope you enjoy the art!!

In the beach episode for the swap AU I think instead of Norma having social anxiety (although I think she’d still have it) Norma would be struggling to fit in as a human and so she’d feel very out of place seeing as she’s only pretending to be a human. Also for this I just see Courtney smashing the skull on the ground instead of it blowing up due to too much fear.
