Okay, what if ahit but its a DnD type fantasy adventure? It starts with just hat kid and bow kid on a mission to defeat the evil overlord (Vanessa), but they end up forming a silly ragtag adventuring party with people they meet on the way. (Please click for better quality)
Character details I've come up with so far under cut, and also me sounding like a little nerd with dnd classes and stuff.
Tumblr media
I haven't decided on any location or character names yet so :P
Hat Kid- She's a wannabe elf warlock and Bow Kid's best friend (they'll probably get names, probably). She doesn't have an arcane focus in the beginning, but she ends up finding and using an umbrella later on. She's very energetic and determined (a little too much at times) and actually manages to become Snatcher's best friend. Bow Kid- She's a human beast master ranger with either a cat or a crow as a companion (idk which one yet). She's a lot calmer than Hat Kid but still gets really excited when she sees a cute creature (even if it is literally trying to kill her.) Cooking Cat- She's a silly kitty cleric (either light or peace domain) from Mafia Town. She's a ray of sunshine and definitely the mom of the group. Snatcher- He's a circle of wildfire druid (bc silly) who, until the kids came and found him, hadn't left his forest in over a century. He was stuck there in wild shape (silly ghost form. Don't ask what creature it is or why he chose to be able to wild shape into it bc i have no clue) because of Vanessa. She tried to turn him into a tiefling like her but it did not go as planned. Clearly. He's still that dark kind of goofy he is in game but just a little bit nicer. Not by much, though. Vanessa- She's a tiefling shadow magic sorcerer who has control over the entire continent. While her outburst (I'll think about more details of it later) effected Subcon the most, it had minor effects all over. She presents herself in her more humanoid form with an overly sweet personality, but the second she's ticked off ditches the facade and becomes her horrid, more demon-like self. She's less of a direct threat until they reach her domain. Empress and the receptionist are also going to join the gang, but I didn't know what classes to make them or what to do with their designs soooooo..... yeah. (To be fair, the other's designs will also probably change bc I made them in like five minutes).
If you have any ideas (especially for Empress and Receptionist) or questions, tell me!

In New Petra, a harpy (plural harpies) is a half-human and half-bird, often believed to be a personification of storm winds or great disaster. They are slightly shorter than a human with smoke covered eyes, a raptorial body, and are gregarious.
Etymology The word 'Harpy' comes from ancient Greek and is pronounced similarly by New Petrans. It means 'snatchers'.
Taxonomy Harpia mythologia is the current designation in use in New Petra.
Description Harpies are sexually dimorphic, with larger, duller females and smaller brighter males. Both sexes have humanoid heads, and three-fingered hands on their wings with the rest of the body resembling a gigantic raptor. Eyes are assumed present but are not visible under a constant exudation of what appears to be smoke.
Female harpy eagles can be up to a 35% or higher difference in mean body mass. Harpies generally measure from 150 to 200cm in total length and have a wingspand of up to four meters. Hollow bones through most of the harpy have resulted in a very light creature. Mean talon size is roughly fifteen centimeters, though can be highly variable. Wings are comparably broad and short, for high manouverability in tight environments.
Males are greenish, with white throat and chest feathers and larger foreclaws that are used for grooming. They have heavily feathered legs, and a larger crest used for display. They frequently display towards females, and brighter colours usually result in higher mating success.
Females are tan or buff and have a developed chest ruff that sits across a bare skin patch which is used to brood eggs and maintain clutch temperature precisely.
The adults give a penetrating, melancholy scream, with the males' call described as 'whispy screaming or wailing'. The females' calls while incubating are similar, but are lower-pitched due to their larger size.
Distribution and habitat The harpy is found in the wilds outside New Petra. Occassional attempts to nest in the city are strongly repulsed by the citizens.
Behaviour and ecology Harpies have no set activity period, and spend most of their time immobile unless there is prey available. They are able to lower their metabolism to enter a light form of hibernation in order to conserve energy.
Harpies are gregarious and hunt in large flocks, but fight violently to get the largest share of the resulting food. They are hypercarnivores who consume no plant matter whatsoever. Hungry harpies are capable of eating and digesting bones. Harpies in prey rich environments will kill indiscriminately and are therefore targeted by most intelligent beings. Some of them become egg eaters, and may be killed by other harpies.
Harpies only engage in grooming for reproductive purposes - the male does so in order to extend their display feathers. They are considered to be the vector of several diseases that they themselves do not suffer from due to their ability to lower their body temperature in hibernation. Harpies are messy nesters who foul their own food and areas in droppings.
Reproduction is dependant on levels of prey available, resulting in between two and four eggs that require two months of brooding. Chicks are precocial, though will take two years to develop full flight, most of this being learned by themselves or through observation rather than by being taught. Fledging happens at six months, at which point the chick is capable of gliding, and must climb up to appropriate heights to launch in lieu of rising thermals.
Females and males form temporary mating bonds. Males feed females that are caring for eggs. Females will only raise young if they are being fed - should the male die or disappear, they will be forced to abandon their nest. If the prey population is crashing, nests are vulnerable to raiding, and harpies can become cannibalistic.
The purpose of the apparent smoking eyes is unknown at this time. Smoke exudes consistently whether eyes are open or closed.
Morphic ecology notes Harpies are not at this point thought to be morphic.
Social notes Harpies are not known to speak any language, communicating in guttural screams. New Petran researchers have not been able to discern words. While they are cooperative in hunting, they can be easily distracted with other offers of food. It is possible to train them, but their unsanitary nature and violent behaviour makes them rare pets. Eu kept a single harpy male and was able to get it to mimic Common speech accurately, but was unable to teach it to associate words with objects. They reported that the harpy, while an effective predator, should be considered less intelligent than higher order parrots.

Bonus from the True Form sheet as well as MISC stuff
For those wondering, here's the true form sheet
Who makes the vessels?
Their creators. By technicality, the character design artists are responsible for designing the vessels' appearance while the Mancers are responsible for bringing their artistic vision into reality. Character design artists are like fashion designers to Fictionals.
So no, Fictionals are not body snatchers, their bodies are handed to them by their deities. Or they shoved them into said bodies, depending on which Fictional you're talking to and how they see their position.
Who makes the actual Fictional, or rather, their true forms?
Also their creators. They're originally just an organ made specifically to preserve their meat puppets back in ancient times or at the dawn of Fictional kind.
How did they get their humanoidish shape then?
They (or at least the characters with personhood or the ability or traits of being a person) gained this new form by becoming sentient. How they gained sentience is rather complicated, so I'll TLDR it instead.
TLDR: White powdered sand snowed down from the top layer from the Memory Realm. They touched unknowing laying sacks of meat. Boom! They gained sentience and start doing what ever in the olden times. There are other lore stuff, but we'll get to them in a bit.
How are they made?
Their mancers would do multiple certain hand gestures with their disfigured hands above the sands. They shape and mold the sand to make their meat puppets. During the pre sentience era, they immediately put their puppets in the Fictional Realm, which was once just a toy box. Then they make the preservative organ and put it inside the meat puppets.
In modern times, they raise the preservative organ from the sands of the Memory Realm. At this point, they're immediately in their humanoid form. They then surround it in a sand hurricane and wrap it in their new body. They leave this new entity to do the rest of the work by making other organs and shrinking itself into an organ too to fit inside.
The creation then gets gently laid down and left to their own devices. Something or someone opens a portal resembling an aspect of their awaiting project or a portal from said project for this new creation to step inside out of curiosity. And whoops, they fall from the skies of the Fictional Realm and crash land in there. Luckily, it doesn't leave an explosion, just a burn mark on the ground.
Are they allowed to change their vessels and names?
No.
As established, Fictionals don't change their names and bodies despite being actors, and for a reason. They're not allowed to.
To put it shortly, when the Fictionals gained sentience for the first time back in their ancient era, they became difficult for the Mancers to have control over. They also physically changed themselves beyond recognition, making it impossible to show for the audience. So ancient Fictional kind had a war with their creators.
It ended with a peace treaty. Their creators established a system called the Acting System where their creations must act out scenes they ask them to do. In exchange, the Fictionals can still have their freedom in a form of having free time and forming their own lives outside of acting. However, there's a catch.
While they're still allowed to shape their own personalities, beliefs, and what they are on the inside, they can't do the same for the outside. Basically not changing their names and bodies. Otherwise, there will be consequences.
Those who OCfied themselves are demanded to change back. If they don't, something severe happens.
What's the consequences, you ask. Well...
It's commonly combustion. But it comes in different flavours depending on the Fictional. The more the Fictional physically changes themself, the worse the levels of punishment. The severity of the punishment grows until their flesh, ironically, becomes broken beyond recognition. That's when they become a Non-Compliant, a category of Fictionals who never follow the No Physical Divergence Clause and instead have their vessels mangled by refusing to change back.
It was because the creators don't want their characters to be "completely replaced by an unwanted entity". Besides, the characters' personalities and minds are already replaced with the said entities'. What more must they lose of their artistic design to these eldritch beings? That's why they establish this as part of the deal.
Here are the kinds of punishments :}
Tw: Body horror and gore
• Combustion
The most common punishment for violating the No Physical Divergence Clause. A part of their vessel starts burning in flames. The more changes are done, the more spots are burnt into flames until the fire engulfs the body.
• Disfigurement
Bones get cracked and limbs are bent. The vessel twist and turn the more the bearer attempts to physically change themself until they've been officially tied into knots beyond recognition.
• Fungal Growth
Not to be mistaken with getting a fungi disease. When they start changing their names and/or bodies, mushrooms start to grow on their bodies to torment them. While the spores are harmless to the compliant Fictionals, they harm the host. Regardless of what kind of Fictional, they stink bad. If they don't turn back, the number of fungi grow some more until they have mushrooms all over their body.
• Rapid, harmful Tumor growth
When a Fictional tries to physically change themselves, the tumor from their true form in organ mode start going haywire, mangling the shape of the organs it created, growing tumors in places it shouldn't be in. The more physical changes the bearer imposes, the faster the harmful tumor growth until it's all over the body both in the inside and outside.
What happens if unintentional changes happen such as accidental limb loss or someone somehow permanently taking an eye?
The punishment would still happen, but to a very minor degree. So minimal that it's not noticeable until it's checked. Usually it's something like a permanent heart burn or a harmless extra tumor growing somewhere but nothing too bad.
Note: All of the Main Cast of Screen Universe are from the modern day era of Fictional History. AKA the Post Creation Vs Creator War Era or Acting Era. So no one has the knowledge about the Ancient Fictional era beyond the bare minimum, being an anthropologist, archeologist, or just reading history books.

I've had some sketches piling up for a while now and wanted to make a comp of them! i'm hoping I'll be able to finish some of these soon!
I tried to organize them from oldest to newest but some are kinda off because GIMP likes to override the date somethings made when you save sometimes?
Explanations under the cut!
A redesign of my OC Bone Marrow! I wanted him to have bone markings since the beginning but I just didn't know how to do it at the time. The front arm markings will probably change and I eventually wanna draw his hair and stuff
This was like the precursor to the Splatoween drawing I did of my Splatsona Minnow! I didn't like it for that but I still thought it was cute as hell
I like. Really shittily put a Frostyfest outfit for Minnow for my friend so they could draw a commission for me askdfl;sklj. Here's a link to the Comm, and you should check them out!
In the peak of the MLP infection AU stuff, I had caught Covid. And with Splatoon taking over my brain, I heard of Weeping Ink Syndrome as well! I Thought it'd be funny to draw Minnow with it but never got around to it skaldfkl;sdjf. I wanted to call this "Putting the 'weeping' in Weeping Ink Syndrome
After I drew this Valentine's drawing, I wanted to redesign my boy Orchid Rose! Just needs to be finished
A redesign of an old fox girl I had made a while back. (The one farthest to the right in the ref images) I wanted to make her a Lynx! I also had like. the random ass idea of a rantsona that was just a plasma ball in a suit that I thought about pursuing.
Slight redesign of my Pokesona! I just called them Marotales (being a marowak and ninetales fusion) but I need a different name. I wanted to introduce Shiny Hisuian Zoroark into the mix as well and grab features from them.
I wanted to make an OC based on the salmonids that fall when you splat a mudmouth, but since I would've just. made them purple too, I decided that this is a baby pic of Violet! Baby's first job after being a snatcher was being a mudmouth :)
Doodle of my oc Kai-ang! I wanted to like. get her design down since I really haven't drawn her yet. Part of a bigger sketch page that'll post tomorrow!
Doodles to get a concept of an oc I wanted to make with a friend! You can see her here!
Been watching too much of this guy named Brandon James Greer and have really wanted to dip back in to pixel art! I wanna make it like. a base so I can use it for all my (humanoid) splatoon ocs and for others to use too!

SCP-069
Item #: SCP-069
Object Class: Safe
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-069 is currently impersonating former Foundation Agent ███████ █████, and is housed at Humanoid Containment Site-06-3. SCP-069 is to be provided with any reasonable requested item and/or material so long as such request does not violate Foundation security protocols. As SCP-069 is currently on suicide watch, all requests it makes must be approved by no fewer than two (2) Level 3 personnel.
If SCP-069 attempts to breach containment, it must be subdued using non-lethal methods. If SCP-069 dies, undercover agents are to be instructed to monitor reports of incidents in which individuals appear to have escaped certain death and SCP-069 is to be re-contained as soon as possible.
Note: Despite the fact that SCP-069 is identical in all ways to Agent █████, it remains an active SCP in containment, and is not to be treated as a Foundation employee. Any requests for classified information are to be denied, and visits from former co-workers without proper authorization are not allowed.
Description: SCP-069 is a presumed humanoid entity of variable appearance and gender. Through an unknown ability, whenever SCP-069 is left alone with a recently deceased human body, the body will disappear and SCP-069 will take on the appearance, mannerisms, and knowledge of the recently dead individual.
Through extensive experimentation, it has been shown that SCP-069 is completely indistinguishable from the individual it impersonates, matching the original individual's fingerprints, DNA, and [DATA EXPUNGED] with nearly perfect precision. SCP-069 retains no knowledge of its abilities or former impersonations. SCP-069 responds normally to injury and pain, but if killed, will rapidly decay into dust regardless of any preservation attempts. SCP-069 will then re-emerge at the site of the most recent human death. There is no known maximum range to this effect, and so far has been observed in jumps of up to 675 kilometers.
SCP-069 can impersonate a single individual indefinitely. However, it will gain an overriding urge to "get their life in order", including but not limited to: resolving any outstanding financial or personal obligations, visiting extended family, updating their will and testament, and other acts of closure. When questioned, SCP-069 professes no driving motivation other than a desire to straighten out their lives in the event of unforeseen injury or death.
SCP-069 first came to the Foundation's attention on █/██/199█ following reports of one John M███████, a █████████ City firefighter who miraculously emerged alive from a 3-alarm building fire in which 2 other firefighters and 11 civilians perished. Undercover agents attached to the local authorities were notified of a possible SCP when reports emerged that the firefighter's equipment had been damaged beyond recognition, and that it had been deemed nearly impossible for the firefighter to emerge unscathed. Approximately three weeks later, then-presumed John M███████ responded to another large-scale building fire, during which he entered a smoke-filled room alone and was never found. A single civilian was rescued from the building, again nearly unharmed despite the heavy smoke reported within the building. SCP-069 was designated the following day, and rendered into Foundation custody by members of Mobile Task Force Xi-3 ("Body Snatchers").
Addendum 069-01: On ██/█/200█, Agent ███████ █████, a guard on duty assigned to SCP-069, was killed during the containment breach of SCP-███ and subsequently impersonated by SCP-069. Although initially in denial after being informed of its identity, it has been mostly cooperative since its impersonation of a mid-level Foundation employee. Contingencies for the use of deceased Foundation employees for future SCP-069 use is under consideration.
Addendum 069-02: On ██/██/200█, SCP-069 attempted to commit suicide after a junior researcher accidentally informed it that the family of Agent █████ had been told that Agent █████ was dead, and of their subsequent reactions. Due to the massive cost of possibly having to re-contain SCP-069, strict suicide watch measures are to be implemented. Plans to use other deceased Foundation employees as possible impersonation targets for SCP-069 have been suspended.

Do you think the Snatchers and Bell-ringers are Pthumerians?
I definitely do! In fact, I believe Bellringing Women bit is hinted on by a description of one of the chalices?
Tumblr media
Not only the looks, but also the fact that both Snatchers and Bell-ringers are exclusively found in Dungeons + connected with School of Mensis (whom we did figure HAD Pthumerians involved). Also:
Tumblr media
While I was looking at Snatchers again for this ask, I noticed this super cool detail, that their necklace looks like a torch sort of...? And we know Pthumerians dabble in pyromancy + if Keepers of the Old Lords are any indication, fire - and setting your body and soul in fire - was sort of a sacred thing for them! Makes me wonder if necklace design is one of the tokens of that. Heck, their odd skin patterns might be burnt marks? Unusual color, because Pthumerians are still not quite humans!
(My headcanon is fire magic gifted to their kind by Wet Nurse that once was one of the crowlike Great Ones living on the sun but sacrificed like 70% of her body to help proto-humans to survive THEIR beast plague at least somewhat)
What also messes me up sometimes is:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is clearly some heritage within Cainhurst! Annalise does recognise the meaning of that ring, too.
I personally do not think that pthumerians slowly evolved into humans on their own somehow? For me pthumerians appear to be sort of proto-humans, kinda like nephilim! They even have racial variety of their own - just skin that is bleach white and shades of grey, rather than beige and shades of brown. However, I do think that they are ABLE to mingle genetically with humans! My biggest hook is that Maria who looks as human as possible, can use fire blood magic that appears to be their genetics (at least / especially taking roots from Pthumeru Ihyll).
My lucky guess is that this line, the now known Cainhurst nobles, at least has had a long line of generations of pthumerians procreating with humans - only the strongest and the prettiest ones! - in order to weed out 'unwanted' genes and take the best from both species. Leading to a mixed line - super tall humanoids with very pale skin and permanent dark circles under eyes. Not always pale skin though, it depends on the region... But yeah, Cainhurst vilebloods had a LOT of arrangement I think. The royal people just tend to be like this about bloodlines :pensive:
Tumblr media
These guys are also what gives me a hunch that pthumerians or humans or both were not really nice to offsprings that showed genes they considered 'unwanted'? Lost Child of Antiquity is a mob that is also found in Pthumeru Ihyll - so, associated with the line that eventually became Cainhurst vilebloods. Giant Lost Child is associated with Loran - they are only found in Nightmare Frontier (and stormy pathwalk to Nightmare of Mensis, which IS layer of Nightmare Frontier)... We did agree as a fandom that Nightmare Frontier must be connected to Loran, right?
So like, Giant Lost Children were disowned once they were born like this - and used in slavery it seems?? This is what whip lashes are? I think this also has connection with how pthumerians have gigantic variants sometimes - like giant Church Servants, or Shark Giants (my beloathed -_-), or the big guys in the dungeons with cannons and literal candles on their backs! This one might be result of painful birth mutation where it is mesh of human and this 'gigantic' pthumerian.
(But, I honestly do not have an idea what could have caused a mutation that makes you look rocky and have bat-like wings (undeveloped). I think Kin were involved though - there are themes of petrification from great blast of Arcane in the game (Eye Pebbles, Rom's "corpse" on altar, statues all over Upper Cathedral covered in dramatic manner as if they were creatures that ended up turning into stone, petrified people in Yahar'gul)... And it is Arcane-boosting blood gems that are grey in color, too. The closest to winged Kin we do have are Gardens of Eyes.)
I side-tracked but yeah, yeah they are pthumerians. Hell, I'd argue that Bloodborne Patches is easily mixed between human and pthumerian, just look at him closer!
Tumblr media
I am yet to figure what did happen historically - how there are friendly pthumerians that do NOT act like zombies (like Chapel Dweller), what about pthumerians that seem to have lost their roots (like Logarius), why ones like Church Servants work for the group that has been actively raiding the dungeons where remains of their civilisation were etc? So many questions??
Though the gist of this I think, most remaining pthumerians have gone crazy from living far too long thanks to their unholy magic and rites, longer than what nature had prepared for them, but naturally humans didn't learn from history and attempted doing the same lol

Soulsborne Ask Game
7. What’s your favorite boss fight in every game you’ve played?
DS1: Ornstein & Smough. Probably the first fight in the game to really WOW me! Beautiful arena, super cool idea of two very different enemies at once, wonderful designs, and that THEME A BANGER!! I love how its both a mix of heroic and dark to signify the differences between Ornstein and Smough’s personalities. I had a lot of fun fighting them, and I always itch to go play DS1 again when i remember that fight.
DS3: Pontiff Sulyvahn. I hate this man but MY GOD the introduction of his fight, of him not moving an inch until you provoke him, then he just takes his time stalking towards you before showing no mercy - I couldn't think of a better introduction to the man who I heard so many terrible things about across the game. The arena is lovely, I love his uncannily humanoid design + orange and purple palette, and his theme is my favourite in the whole game. He was a great boss to walk into in irithyll, he really is at home there lol. [ The Dancer of the Boreal Valley is an honourable mention! So unique how her sound design just compliments her theme! ]
Bloodborne: Ludwig the Accursed/Holy Blade. BEST FIGHT AND THEME IN ALL OF SOULSBORNE, YOU WILL NOT CHANGE MY MIND. Holy shit, I feel my breath be taken away every single damn time I see that cutscene for his second phase, along with that musical transition. The absolute power move of him going from this disgusting, pitiful beast, to a perfect picture of the brave and noble knight he was in life, just by standing upright. The glow of the holy moonlight sword turns the grim arena into this macabre beauty that is just burned into my mind every single time i think about Bloodborne. I love this man, his willpower to be the only character to truly drag himself back from complete insanity speaks volumes to what he must've been like in his golden days. *chef kisses* [ Lady Maria of the Astral Clocktower is an honourable mention! She got an uphill battle because Ludwig is my favourite fight in the entire series, but damn she absolutely stands out to me too, and just two battles after him! She damn well deserves credit for that. ]
Sekiro: Lady Butterfly. Such a strong boss to introduce the early game. Her design is absolutely lovely (LOOKS LIKE A BUTTERFLY AHHHAA!!!!!) and, along with the unnerving calm of her theme, conveys her understated & deadly grace. You can just TELL she's been cutting down scrubs like us before we could even crawl. Her moveset is probably one of my favourites in the series, and her taunts are so cutting, I love it! Also old evil lady is my kryptonite hee-hee, give me more battle grandmas!!! plEASE I BEG! There aren't enough!
11. Which area is pure nightmare fuel for you?
Yahar'gul, Unseen Village pre! Blood Moon. I died randomly to one of the snatchers my first run, then I wake up in this completely desolate city that seems to be just holding its breath under this choir we never see??? To this day it gives me chills, just being unable to see the ritual while you’re lost in this completely alien city, unsure of how you got there or why. Plus meeting Adella and her telling you that there were more people taken, and they never returned, and all that she heard were “horrible groaning.” Just UUGHGHJJG!! so creepy! It’s the things you don’t see that really scare me, just my mind filling in the blanks. Yharnam overall is incredibly hostile, but no other area makes my mind scream “i’m in such grave danger right now, this is the calm before the storm.” Like Yahar’gul. [ Honourable mention is Upper Cathedral Ward. The ambiance is just terrifying in the darkness. ]

19 Horror References You May Have Missed on Rick and Morty
Tumblr media
Pop culture references are baked into Rick and Morty's DNA. The Adult Swim animated series originated as a short parody of Back to the Future, after all, and creators Dan Harmon (Community) and Justin Roiland (Solar Opposites) have infused every episode since its 2013 debut with nods to movies, TV, and more. Like the series' sense of humor - a blend of clever wit and crass jokes - the references range from overt to subtle.
Previously available as individual seasons, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment's Rick and Morty: The Complete Seasons 1-4 collects all 41 episodes of the series so far, plus audio commentaries, deleted scenes, animatics, behind-the-scenes featurettes, a fold-out poster, and more. A fifth season is currently in the works with more promised beyond that, but no release date is set.
Not only does the humor remain potent, but revisiting Rick and Morty affords the opportunity to discover even more pop culture allusions. Ignoring the obvious ones - sorry, Scary Terry! - here are 19 horror references that you may have missed.
Tumblr media
1. Alien in "Pilot" (Season 1, Episode 1)
In the pilot episode, the Interdimensional Customs is populated by several notable characters. Look closely and you'll spot the silhouette of a Xenomorph from Alien; the first of many references to the franchise. Other familiar shapes include Tom Servo, Crow T. Robot, and Gypsy from Mystery Science Theater 3000, Big Bird from Sesame Street, an alien from Space Invaders, and a Mooninite from Aqua Teen Hunger Force.
Tumblr media
2. David Cronenberg in "Rick Potion #9" (Season 1, Episode 6)
It's not exactly subtle, but I'd be remiss if I did not include the series' shout-out to David Cronenberg. Rick dubs the disfigured humanoid blobs in "Rick Potion #9" as "Cronenbergs" after the filmmaker, known as the originator of the body horror subgenre, including The Fly.
Tumblr media
3. Robocop and Red Dragon in "Raising Gazorpazorp" (Season 1, Episode 7)
The sex robot that Morty impregnates in "Raising Gazorpazorp" wears a helmet similar to that of Robocop. Morty's mother, Beth, fears that Morty the robot will turn Morty into "Ralph Fiennes from Red Dragon," a reference to the actor who plays serial killer Francis Dolarhyde in the 2002 adaptation of Thomas Harris' Red Dragon, a prequel to The Silence of the Lambs.
Tumblr media
4. Needful Things in "Something Ricked This Way Comes" (Season 1, Episode 9)
The Devil's store in "Something Ricked This Way Comes" is called Needful Things, borrowed from Stephen King's 1991 horror novel (and its 1993 film adaptation) with a similar plot. Rick also calls out the Devil's "voodoo crap magic" as being derivative of The Twilight Zone, Friday the 13th: The Series, and Ray Bradbury.
Tumblr media
5. The Langoliers and Son of Sam in "A Rickle in Time" (Season 2, Episode 1)
The design of the fourth-dimensional being in "A Rickle in Time" appears to be inspired by the time eater from Stephen King's The Langoliers and its 1995 TV miniseries adaptation. Rick calls him "David Berkowitz of nutsack land," referring to the Son of Sam serial killer that terrified New York City during the summer of 1976.

6. Invasion of the Body Snatchers in "Auto Erotic Assimilation" (Season 2, Episode 3)
In the opening scene of "Auto Erotic Assimilation," Rick suggests that two of the alien crew members were overtaken by an entity. The beings in question point and screech, a nod to the famous shot at the end of the 1978 version of Invasion of the Body Snatchers.

7. Cthulhu in "Auto Erotic Assimilation" (Season 2, Episode 3)
While a Cthulhu-like monster is shown in the show’s opening credits, it never appears in an actual episode. But something resembling the cosmic entity - as created by author H.P. Lovecraft - can be seen in a capsule in Rick’s underground laboratory in "Auto Erotic Assimilation."
Tumblr media
8. The Terminator in "The Wedding Squanchers" (Season 2, Episode 10)
After the bride reveals herself to be a Federation agent in "The Wedding Squanchers," her parents attack Rick's family. They suffer damage to their skin, exposing glowing red eyes and a metal endoskeleton like The Terminator.

9. Escape from L.A. in "Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender" (Season 3, Episode 4)
Although "Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender" is a sendup of superhero movies (and features a direct reference to Saw), the scene in which Rick gives the characters five minutes to score five three-pointers or be killed is inspired by the similar basketball challenge in John Carpenter's Escape from L.A.
Tumblr media
10. Hellraiser in "The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy" (Season 3, Episode 5)
When a series of incidents involving Rick's gadgets turns his granddaughter, Summer, into a skinless monster in "The Whirly Dirly Conspiracy," Beth says that she "Clive Barkered herself." This is an illusion to Hellraiser, written and directed by Clive Barker, in which the character of Frank Cotton is flayed at the hands of the cenobites.
Tumblr media
11. Stand by Me in "The Ricklantis Mixup" (Season 3, Episode 7)
The four versions of Morty on a quest for the wishing portal in "The Ricklantis Mixup" are based on the main characters in Stand by Me, itself an adaptation of Stephen King's novella The Body from his 1982 collection Different Seasons.
Tumblr media
12. Twin Peaks in "The Ricklantis Mixup" (Season 3, Episode 7)
Elsewhere in "The Ricklantis Mixup," Cop Rick and Cop Morty end up at a club called The Creepy Morty. It features decor (curtained wall, black-white-white striped floor, cushy armchairs) based on the extradimensional red room at The Black Lodge in Twin Peaks.
Tumblr media
13. The Sandman in "Morty's Mind Blowers" (Season 3, Episode 8)
The cold open of "Morty's Mind Blowers" features a character that closely resembles Dream (also known as Morpheus), the main character from Neil Gaiman’s The Sandman from DC Comics. He chases Rick and Morty through a dimension inspired by M.C. Escher's famed Relativity artwork of the paradoxical Penrose stairs.
Tumblr media
14. Jurassic Park III in "The ABCs of Beth" (Season 3, Episode 9)
While Rick saying "Life finds a way" upon encountering flying, dinosaur-like Froopyland creatures in "The ABCs of Beth" is an obvious homage to Jurassic Park, the scene also echoes a sequence from Jurassic Park III in which a child is character is picked up by a Pterodactyl and dropped into a nest of its offspring.
Tumblr media
15. Boglins in "Edge of Tomorty: Rick Die Rickpeat" (Season 4, Episode 1)
When Wasp Rick discovers that Morty has gone through his belongings in "Edge of Tomorty: Rick Die Rickpeat," he's relieved to find his Boglin untouched. Boglins was a toy line that launched in 1987 during the height of gross-out toys like Madballs and Garbage Pail Kids. Each puppet came "caged" in boxes exactly like the one depicted in the show.
Tumblr media
16. Stranger Things in "One Crew Over the Crewcoo's Morty" (Season 4, Episode 3)
When Morty pitches his heist movie to Netflix at the end of "One Crew Over the Crewcoo's Morty," a poster for Weirder Stuff 3 - a parody of Stranger Things' third season - can be seen in the background of the office. Summer remarks "Five of my friends got Netflix deals," alluding to how easy it is to pitch to the streaming service.
Tumblr media
17. Ghostbsuters in "Claw and Hoarder: Special Ricktim's Morty" (Season 4, Episode 4)
There are several Ghostbusters references throughout the show, but my favorite is in "Claw and Hoarder: Special Ricktim's Morty." Rick discovers a Hi-C Ecto Cooler juice box - which debuted in 1989 as a tie-in to Ghostbusters II - among a dragon's treasures (which also include Small Soldiers spin pops, a Duckman lunchbox, and a Funko Pop-style Dan Harmon figure). When questioned why, the dragon retorts, "I horde that which your kind covets."
Tumblr media
18. Jacob's Ladder in "Never Ricking Morty" (Season 4, Episode 6)
The war flashback in the anthology episode "Never Ricking Morty" is borrowed from the twist-revealing scene in Jacob's Ladder, about a group of Vietnam War soldiers whose realities are distorted by an experimental drug.
Tumblr media
19. Don't Look Now in "Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri" (Season 4, Episode 10)
When Rick is losing his violent battle against Phoenixperson in "Star Mort Rickturn of the Jerri," Rick laments, "Never thought this was how I'd die. We're nowhere near Venice, and you're not a dwarf in a raincoat." This is a reference to the film Don't Look Now, in which the main character dies in Venice after a mysterious character obscured by a red coat is revealed to be a dwarf.
Rick and Morty: The Complete Seasons 1-4 will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on March 2 via Warner Bros. Home Entertainment.

Prototype Hat Kid is now a OC. Meet Doll Kid!
After a lot of research to find the image of Protoype Hat kid, I FINALLY FOUND IT. And after reading “A Glitch in Time” comic (it’s a masterpiece, you should try out), this gave me the motivation to turn Prototype Hat Kid into a new OC. Now, her name is Doll Kid! Wiki below:
Tumblr media
NAME: Dolly (only she knows her true name)
NICKNAMES: Doll Kid, DK, Doll
AGE: Dolls don’t have age, you fool
SPECIES: Humanoind doll (she can’t grow up)
RELATIVES: Beta Hat Kid (Sister?)
FRIENDS (PLAYMATES FOR HER): Hat Kid, Bow Kid, Moonjumper (BPF: Best Playmates Forever), Goofy Snatcher (he’s a BPF too), Lil’ Vanessa, Conductor (she loves annoy him), DJ Grooves
ABOUT: Doll Kid is a humanoid doll that travels trough space and time. She’s a very fan of dolls, so she always carries them in her backpack to play with them. She’s playful, funny, good-humored, adventurous, but there’s one detail: she don’t have any friends (or better, HAD). How she likes to play inside, she don’t get out of the spaceship usually, so that means that she haven’t met a lot of people. But after her spaceship fell in Subcon Forest after Hat Kid saved the world, a new adventure started to Doll Kid.
TRIVIA: It don’t seem much, but her design was inspired in Beta Hat Kid from a “Glitch in Time” AHiT AU. If someday me and the creator meet in a chat, MAAAAYBEE we can make some crossover fanart together...

UPDATE: As SCP-069 is currently on suicide watch, all requests it makes must be approved by no fewer than two (2) Level 3 personnel.
Addendum 069-02: On ██/██/200█, SCP-069 attempted to commit suicide after a junior researcher accidentally informed it that the family of Agent █████ had been told Agent █████ was dead, and of their subsequent reactions. Due to the massive cost of possibly having to re-contain SCP-069, strict suicide watch measures are to be implemented. Plans to use other deceased Foundation employees as possible impersonation targets for SCP-069 have been suspended.
