chenyu vale is nothing but quiet and peaceful; while the inventor appreciates the sight itself, the melody that comes along with the birds that fly above him, he can't help but want to shoo the sounds away.

his head hurts — he knew his corrosion had been getting worse, his father had warned him to not overdo it when he saw mace heading for liyue's border with fontaine.

he's there only to find more of the jade he saw once being sold in a fontainian shop — lightweight, sturdy, can float according to tales from liyue — a perfect, almost dreamlike crystal the inventor has searched after for what feels like a millenia. his reasoning and scope remain a secret, yet he was still determined to flock to chenyu.

if only his body wasn't failing him, he'd be happy to be in such a tranquill land — his vision blurs over, wretched delirium, wretched corrosion... — he curses it over in his head.

he knows he walks up somewhere, then down, then he makes some sort of turn — it's hard to see, relying on his hearing that's slowly becoming white noise aswell; he knows his eyes are doing an annoying flickering again, as if he were a stingy lightbulb.

mace touches a tree, then yanks a vine accidentally, then he feels like throwing up and crying. he tries to push that feeling down, embarrassing as it is at his big age, yet when he trips on a branch, vine? — he doesn't know, just that it was something earth-toned — and is launched into a pond face first, he gives up all feeling of his body and fully sobs into the lake.

the water bubbles up as he breathes into it, kicking his feet up and down like a toddler during a tantrum. he's surely causing a disturbance if anyone's around, yet he could really care less — afterall, nobody around here knows him, and looking at the state he's in, nobody would want to be near the inventor, let alone help him up.

haiyue is used to the occasional traveller stumbling upon his abode. usually, he'd guide them back onto the path they'd meant to take- bidding them farewell, never to see them again.

what he wasn't used to, however - was someone quite literally stumbling into his lake- falling face-first into it. said someone was quite lucky he'd been outside, because he wouldn't have caught it as fast if he had been anywhere else.

haiyue approaches the, for lack of a better word, flailing body in his lake- a hand gathering the fabric of his hanfu, lifting it just above his ankles, to avoid getting it splashed too much.

unfortunately, it didn't seem to be much help. seems he'd have to get muddy today.

he untangles the traveller's foot from the vine it was stuck on, and gets on his knees to pull him from the lake, resting him gently in the grass beside it.

"...are you alright?" he mutters, just loud enough for him to hear it- leaning over him and brushing the purple hair sticking to his face out of the way with his fingers.

I love this question because it led to me thinking about yuusha and yuuna's mindsets while in NRC. and this helped me flesh out their motives and personalities more so again thank you very much!!

━━━━✦ Yuusha

The hardest thing to adjust to for Yuusha is generally having to fend for herself. Everything feels significantly harder to handle compared to her homeworld. She is fairly adaptable though, it's more of the emotional toll that is affecting her.

And it doesn’t really help that she tends to say what’s on her mind without thinking twice about it which sometimes lands her into trouble.

While Yuusha is a person who earned her own accomplishments, especially back in her homeworld, she was also privileged enough to have been provided a leg up when it comes to her pursuits. Which means that Yuusha had it somewhat easy.

Now she has to adjust her expectations and she has to figure out everything by herself in order to survive. And Yuusha is the type of person who refuses to ask for help. This is *her* problem and her problem alone.

She's just in a constant state of stress.

━━━━✦ Yuuna

Yuuna has zero memories of their home world. It is hard for them to adjust to the fact that (1) they can’t remember shit and (2) they can’t use magic in a place meant for magic.

They feel incapable and useless whenever they’re reminded that they are out of place in NRC—that they don’t belong there. Yuuna hates that others have to protect them because they don't have magic.

So to compensate, Yuuna attempts to “fake it till they make it”, and tries to prove their capabilities to others.

At first, they try to get in everyone’s good graces while also trying to prove themself to others that they’re not weak. Eventually though, Yuuna trying to befriend everyone turned genuine and real to the point that they just care about everyone.

And that motivated them more to become more capable for the ones they care about.

Douglas is so beautiful. I’m happy that Oliver is in love with him and he deserves it.

These two are adorable together! Both deserve each other and probably had the connection after a few more talks. Not a love at first sight fan but I'll say I can see them work after a few dates and talk (I hate how the series didn't add more interaction between them).

I do enjoy small moments of these two cuddling, joking, and talking as my headcanon. And probably going on dates by the sea and festivals, oh and Douglas comforting Oliver's fear of fire by some fan episode. Slow burn for me but hey I like it nonetheless and I see cute art from you which I love on my boi Dougie (mainly) and his boyfriend Ollie.

Jason Carver x Reader

"It'll be okay, I'll fix it... I promise."

Second time trying to post this!

CW: Miscarriage, heavy angst, domesticated Jason, also Chrissy lives

This idea has been floating around my mind for the past few days and there isn't a lot of Jason angst so I wanted to make more Jason content one fic at a time

It had seemed like everything had been going perfectly.  Y/N and Jason had gotten together around a month after Chrissy had dumped him.  Since then Y/N had met his parents the two had bought a house, consummated their love once they had expressed that they wanted nothing more than to be with each other for as long as God, fate, or even life would let them.  Jason had always expressed his love and want for the perfect little family.  But as long as he had his other-half he was perfectly content.  That was until they started to stop using protection and/or birth control, upping the chances of a little miracle entering both of their lives.

And soon one did, not fully-planned, but not unwelcomed.  The two were overjoyed at first.  Jason was practically bursting at the seams with excitement.  It felt like they were finally getting the little family they wanted.  Jason had already started on the nursery.  It had almost felt as if they were truly starting a new chapter of their lives.

             "Baby, I'm home," He called as he hung up his coat at the door. He'd been taking extra shifts to be able to afford extra for Y/N and the baby. When he didn't hear the normal cheery response he felt fear rise in him, "Babe?" He listened for a response, any sort of response.  Making his way slowly up the stairs he started to hear the faint sound of sobbing.  His steps hurried as he made his way to the shared bedroom bathroom.  Y/N's sobs echoed louder as Jason opened the door.  

              His eyes darted from them to the heap of bloodied toilet paper.  Instantly dropping to his knees as he felt tears well in his eyes, automatically assuming the worst.  "Baby..?  Wha-.." 

               Their body wracked with heavy sobs as their eyes met his.  The scene was simply so pathetic, anyone's heart would ache.  "I-...I lost it…"

                "I know baby.." He physically shattered, having his worst fear confirmed.  It felt like his entire world was gone.  "It'll be okay, I'll fix it… I promise,"  He scooped them into his arms, crying silently into their shoulder.  There were certain times where the world seemed to stop, and this was one of those times.  He said he wanted to fix it, and truly he did.  But he didn't know how, just a few hours ago he was excited for their child, and now he was faced with the harsh reality that he was never gonna meet the baby.  The doctor said that Y/N was of a slightly higher risk for miscarrying but that didn't cross their minds,they were happy and joyful that they were building their little family.  "It's gonna be okay, okay?" He said through wet sobs, voice muffled.  He sounded unsure and scared.  How would this ever be okay.

Thinking about how the two Zeldas that followed her also coughed flowers, at a young age, with no knowledge what did they do to deserve this. Thinking about how Zelda cried the hardest when the itch in her throat had finally stopped after she sent him away.

Thinking about how every Zelda who met him will never feel complete. No matter how friendly or close she is to him, she knew the moment she saw the flowers, that she would never be loved the way she loved him.

Thinking about Zelda, who suffered for hundred of years- no, thousands of years, coughing flowers despite what she went through. She thought she'll stop, finally end this, but here she is, at the hidden space she made for herself, coughing reminders of the burden her bloodline bears.
