#when i was first coloring him in he was gonna be golden chinchilla colored but then i was like ehhh jonah magnus should be red/orange but #elias should be gray ...so i just desaturated what i already did instead of recoloring lol but #he is now supposed to be shaded silver lol #but thats why his coat pattern is on the darker side compared to what it *should* be #og elias bouchard coming from an important/roch family and while whole thing with thinking he just *deserves* stuff bc of his upbringing.#etc. -> he is purebred and matches the breed standards etc for a scottish fold of his color #obviously the eye color doesn't matter because. ahaha #i thought elias fit the Scottish fold vibes because: Scottish folds are known for looking sort of like owls and having intense eyes #and the cat body/face type (also present in british shorthairs) to me gives off sort of... unnasumming vibes?#like ahaha yes i am a boring boss who loves paperwork look at how unnasumming i am season 1-2 elias y'know #trying to think of what cat breed jonah would be. and also jon gerry etc you know all the other characters i like #would it be boring to have multiple british shorthairs #i mean..#Michael shelley/distortion is a laperm that's all I know #i didn't particularly care with the personality attributes associated with eliascat because it didn't need to fit his personality on account #of not being his original body. but i do try to keep in mind the best personality/look/etc. cat attributes as a whole for a character #also sometimes get obsessed with jt making historical and geographical sense but then it just limits me greatly to a point im not into it #so i don't care about specific breeds in that respect lol #tma #my art #elias bouchard #the magnus archives #some notes looking back(made it 2 hours ago but still looking back ok..) on it now are that i feel like elias would never choose this breed #for his next bodyhop because of the inherent health issues in scottish folds. #delete later #another journal entry 📝 for the void #i have not been sleeping well for the past 2 wks 😵‍💫 i always wake up like clockwork after 5-6 hrs which feels like not nearly enough #i feel like i've done everything there is to do (consistent exercise + consistent sleep times + earplugs + weighted blanket + no caffeine)#last night i took melatonin too but no... same problem staying asleep 😭#ahh whatever. i'm just frustrated that it has to be this way :(#anyways in an act of spite i reread like the 4 wips that have been sitting in my drafts from the past few weeks #i think something that will never cease to surprise me about writing is that more effort/time doesn't necessarily translate to better #results; i suppose that's the case with all kinds of art but #it does feel somewhat unintuitive. one of my fav professors in uni said to not dismiss those 'lightning in a bottle' moments (in art) as #blind luck... but to instead analyze the circumstances and iterate on recreating them. and i think one of my artist friends who i deeply #respect said something similar (wrt artistic rituals/setup). i have too many thoughts on writing and on my own creative processes and #weaknesses to fit into any number of tags here. :') that said...#*shakes ch2 draft* after everything i did and all the hours i spent WHY are you still so bad?!!! D: i am baffled and frustrated.#and why do i prefer this other [redacted] draft which i hammered out with utterly no regard towards the quality??#anyways. back to the drawing board i guess T.T

#this one's for all the teachers out there #horror cw #hands cw #draws #after 2.5 years of caution and masking everywhere; i tested positive for covid on wednesday morning (first day of fall semester) 😔#at earliest; i can be back in the classroom on monday #wednesday itself was an absolutely horrible 24 hours (but admittedly the anatomist side of me has been going 'ah! physiological data!')#but thursday and friday were a grim indicator of how much capitalism has rotted my brain #because after getting through 24 hours of a MASSIVE illness with undetermined long-term effects; i felt compelled to return to the #6-hr-sleep 18-hr-waking cycle that i was accustomed to; out of GUILT for falling behind in work #(note: i was NOWHERE near 100% back on thursday. i could have charitably been put at 50% - still headaches & fatigue & productive coughs)#a friend had to very sternly tell me 'you cannot solve structural problems through constant 80-hour-week heroic measures'#'you especially cannot do this when you are recovering from a debilitating illness which has the potential to remain a -#- serious lingering problem if you overwork yourself'#like. gods. yeah. it's not my fault that my classrooms are stuffed to the student maximum that our union has valiantly maintained #it's not my fault that the district only gave us one pre-semester prep day; meaning that my room & plans were left unfinished before day one #and - even bigger; it's not my fault that public health in the US is careening into 'can we pretend hard enough like nothing's happening'#my students will have a milquetoast start this fall semester. that is fine.#their teacher might not be able to stand and talk for longer than ten minutes at a time #i will do what i can. i still care about them. i am reading their introduction emails and smiling a bunch.#but i refuse to allow myself to be consumed in order to keep this fire lit.

i spent all yesterday making a semi-realistic slugcat base. i used sphinx cats as a reference, so they’re pretty cat like here

i imagine they hold themselves different than an actual cat though, plus more robust shoulders for bipedal-ism

#pinemartart #rain world #rain world downpour #rw downpour #slugcat #rw survivor #rain world survivor #I SWEAR I'LL FINISH MY OTHER DRAWINGS I JUST. um. looks at my 21 hours in terraria this past week #i've been busy ahaha #also i can't draw everyday i think my arm would deadass fall off #or even every other day for that matter #btw cat legs are kind of fucked up looking #does anyone want my design traits for slugcats . i think about them and how they work #like they probably have some sort of throat pouch to hold things #plus they have 3 digits . which is interesting #they probably have a stiffer spine in comparison to actual cats. as it helps with being bipedal. i imagine they're still decently flexible #though since they can turn around in tunnels #they do have a collarbone . cats have like almost none. but slugcats have more. not as much as we do though #and they most likely have 6 breasts as they're mammals to me. they're cats #there is lots of loose skin around their limbs too btw. for flexability #helps them stretch . and cats too #cats have so much loose skin. and their skin is so thin #i imagine slugcats would have thicker skin #also their tail is pretty big compared to other things. so i imagine they use it for fat reserves and storage. like for hibernation #also i have thoughts about gourmond so i think i'll do them after monk #making a whole ass essay in here

A more lighthearted quick comic this time, loosely based on @wikipedianna ‘s headcanon that Micolash is a cat person. I imagine he has a strange habit of yoinking the most diseased scraggly soggy stray animals right off the street, regardless of Byrgenwerth’s animal/pet policy(or any policy at all, for that matter) to keep as a spontaneous pet. I think about them a normal amount :)

wow I’m so happy to be writing a story (humid afternoons) with characters I’ve spent a lot of time thinking about. This is a great opportunity for me to improve my writing and storytelling which is something I’ve been wanting to do for a considerable amount of time

anyway so I made a lifeguard au

look I know this au is a stretch but in my defence I think it’s silly

I don’t know if a lifeguard au has already been done but yeah silly little robots on beach and there isn’t much lore so far but here’s what I have (I’ll reblog this with new sketches and updates when I think of them)

To cover up a building amount of health and safety violations, lawsuits, and the typical legal troubles Fazbear entertainment gets into—to better promote health and safety they decided to have one (soon to be two!) robots stationed at a nearby beach. Instead of wasting money building an entirely new one, because of the fairly large amount of prototype endos Sun/Moon have they were like yep it’ll do and essentially cloned the both of them. Moon gets stationed first and scans the beach, can send radio signals, and helps to find missing kids yk all that jazz. Sun is later also stationed at the beach to help deal with injuries and other stuff, this is because someone needs to be in the tower at all times so Moon just kinda chills out there

I debated having them perform rescues but when I thought about it could you imagine being pulled up from underwater just to see

yeah I don’t think anyone would make it to shore

also shoutout to anyone who recognises the lifeguard uniform
