Had some thoughts about the bad kids class swap, so here's my headcanons about them all if they were bards (very rambly, I'm bad at writing)

Gorgug- when he was small he would play on the pots and pans like drums and his parents wanted to encourage his creativity. Has tried probably every instrument his parents could find or make, it's metalwork. Gets really into drums and some string instruments, can't play alot of brass cuz of tusks but trumpet is easier, French horn is even harder because of the delicate trigger mechanisms, gets really good at clarinet for some reason, so good that it's his secondary instrument in case he breaks all of his drumsticks (true percussionists have like ten spares, sticks break too easy)(and also fiddle, he can play fiddle really well)

Adaine- learned viola because her parents made her, ended up really liking it, switched to "violin" (plays fiddle, can't call it that in front of parents) think Lindsey Stirling, parents got mad when she became a Bard instead of wizard even though they pushed her to learn and get better, hits her dad w fiddle and kills him, her fiddle in s/j year is a gift from fabian and its practically indestructible(gold, made by telamine, theres a side quest where she kicks the devils ass at fiddle)

Fabian- Really likes sea shanties, starts out dancing with his pa, does alot of 2 and 4 steps, lotta linedancing before getting into elven dance, could be a real good master of ceremonies when he starts hip-hop dancing, is in the college of swords but its very piratey, learned fiddle for fun but actually really enjoys it especially the slower more classical melodies favorite spell is suggestion

Kristen- acoustic guitar. Can also play piano but doesn't want to lug around a keyboard. Has a lovely voice but prefers to let her guitar do most of the work, wanted to be a paladin(to helio) like her parents for a while but becomes a paladin of Cass in the nightmare forest, it's wild. When she meets tracker at the black pit they bond over only really knowing worship songs and tracker gives her a book w/ rock sheet music (classically trained) she steals an electric guitar from the black pit and stashes it at fabians house for a while till she moves in with track and jawbone

Riz- (most excited about this one) goblin music is chaos, idk alot about indigenous music, but I like it, riz does alot of throat singing and body drumming, alot of odd noises, his dad used to sing him to sleep, kinda sounds like Tibetan throat singing with alot of clicking and hissing and all that (need to do research) the other bks like it alot, when he gets more comfortable he starts doing more metal (kinda like korn) struggles alot with connecting to his heritage (personal hc; 3rd gen goblin imigrant, sklondas ma came to bastion city for a new life when the rangers moved in on the mountains of chaos, poks dad moved from the other side of spyre (idk) Pok lived in elmville for his whole life, moved to bastion to work for the government culture outreach program, met sklonda, moved back to elmville, had riz, got eaten by a dragon)

Scars: Listened to this one the second it was officially released, so i've had some time to listen to it !!!and . ough. its so good. i love when the crane wives make angry songs <3 really REALLY happy that they've incorporated violin into their newer songs too. the subtle shriek halfway through, the buildup near the end....GRAH (and i know they did on past albums but tbh they did not include them Enough. i love the violin <3)

Bitter Medicine: another one that was released ahead of the full album! also very good. reminds me a lot of the queen of nothing, mainly because of "someone take my keys im in no shape for driving" vs "stop the car, i wanna get out". and the AH AH OH AH OH'S NEAR THE END. YES !!! THEYRE SO FUN TO SING ALONG WITH I LOVE THEM. and the instrumentals. GRAAAAAH !!! the electric guitar (?) at the end is AMAZING.

Higher Ground: right off the bat i loved the instruments. and then when they start singing? INCREDIBLE. the vocals for this one are so so so good. like im actually in love with them, especially the first "should i head for higher ground". and its also like. very upbeat and fun. it makes me want to run around and just get myself Moving somehow. AND THE SUBTLE STRINGS IN THE BACKGROUND AS THE SONG BUILDS UP!!! i love the plucking, it so. hrgahgrhahghr. and once again. THE VIOLIN. I LOVE THE VIOLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Predator: i came into this song expecting something similar to the hand that feeds, so it was MUCH different than i anticipated! and honestly, i love it so much?? the guitar...? whatever funky instrument thats all wobbly is. sounds so fun. and i love the vocals so much they scratch at my brain. THE CLAPPING TOO. ITS SO FUN. another one that makes me want to get up and run around or dance <3

Say It: i was excited for this one! my friend heard it live and absolutely loved it, so i'd heard a lot about it going in. its a lot calmer than i was expecting but ohhh its so good. "please dont leave me in the dark, praying for a wayward spark" augh. ough. gruahgrh. "IF YOU COULD WOULD YOU ERASE ME. ERADICATE ME FROM YOUR MIND." RAAAAAAHHHH.

Mad Dog: another song i heard good things about! i was expecting something high energy and BOY did it not disappoint. obsessed with the pace of the beginning vocals, they sound like so much fun to sing i cant wait to learn the lyrics. AND THEN. THE CHORUS!!! OHHHH. THE ECHOES OF RUNNING AND COMING. IM GONNA EXPLODE. THEY SCRATCH MY BRAIN SO WELL. and the funky instrument in the back that i think is maybe a guitar but i cant tell....its so good and funky and oh my god i love the crane wives. honestly, this is probably one of my favorites of the album. its so good. i need to tear something apart with my teeth

Arcturus Beaming: i heard this song live back when i went to their concert in april, and oh my GOD. genuinely this song changed me i think. it rearranged my atoms. it means so much to me i literally love this song, even if the instrumentals arent my favorite out of the rest of the album i cannot put it any lower than my absolute favorite. THERES MORE TO LIFE THAN SUFFERING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Time Will Change You: and this song. right off the bat its INCREDIBLE. the steady beat in the back. the guitar. the vocals. and just . the general Vibes. AND THEN. AND THEN !!!! THE STRINGS. HOLY FUCKING SHIT THE STRINGSSS. THE SECOND I HEARD THEM I LOST MY MIND. they are SO pretty and THIS is exactly why i wanted the crane wives to use strings in their songs more. they include them SO well. AND AUGH. THE INSTRUMENTAL HALFWAY THROUGH....AND THE VOCALS BEHIND IT....AND AGAIN!!! THE STRINGS !!!! this is SUCH a pretty song and it blew me away the first time i listened to it

Black Hole Fantasy: i wasnt entirely sure what to expect going into this song so i was a bit surprised by the introduction- and then it just kept getting better. right off the bat it reminded me of arcturus beaming, and then the general story of the song.... just. the feeling of aching so desperately for a better life, but being afraid to take that first step because you dont want to face the risks that come with it..... i genuinely almost cried listening to it, especially as the song began to ramp up. the fantasy of taking that chance but still being afraid. AND THEN. AND THEN!!!!! "AND NOW SHES LAUGHING, AND ITS KILLING ME THAT I CANNOT SEE WHATS MAKING HER LAUGH FROM WHERE IM STANDING." AND THE SUBTLE BUILD UP OF STRINGS IN THE BACK AS THE SONG RAMPS UP FURTHER. AND YOU FINALLY TAKE THAT CHANCE, TAKE THAT FIRST STEP. AAUEUEUAGHHHH. GOD!!!!!!!!!!

Red Clay: going into this song, i was expecting something with the vibes of the icarus or keep you safe, and i wasnt disappointed!!! BUT BEFORE I COULD REALLY PROCESS THE BEGINNING, I GET COMPLETELY BLIND SIDED BY SOMEONE OTHER THAN EMILEE OR KATE SINGING. im not entirely sure who it is, my best guess is dan, but its so so good. something about red clay is so specifically nostalgic for me, and for it to play right after black hole fantasy just. completely destroyed me/pos this song is so so pretty. i love it so much.

River Rushing: AND IMMEDIATELY IM HOOKED. again, i expected something high energy/upbeat like sleeping giants- and while its not the exact same, its similar, and i LOVE IT. the vocals are probably my favorite part, especially the backing vocals. BUT OH MY GOD THOSE HIGH NOTES. THEYRE SO GOOD. a VERY strong ending for the album, which i absolutely adored

and thats every song!!!! god i love the crane wives. im going to listen to this album on loop until each song is burned into my brain okay bye

My favorite quote from Uenoyama (Given manga), and my favorite quote ever (also followed by an analysis/rant that no one will ever read). ⭐️ Near the very end theres another quote from uenoyama that has the same ideas as the one below here

“Hearts are like guitar strings. They won’t play sound if they’re too loose. You have to wind them up until they’re about to break, and that’s when they become a wave the hit your eardrums."

As a musician, this hit HARD. To me I see it as how confidence or passion or love is. Your heart won’t have courage/passion/love unlesss you have the will for it to. The winding is the will to let these things happen, you forcing these things to happen so you can feel them.

Loose strings could be a metaphor for holding back, as when tuning a guitar, it holds back from the sound. It could also represent the fear of not holding back, as when you wind up strings really tight, they can break.

Breaking strings on a guitar hurts, especially if your quite close to them and the catch on to you (unfortunately I know this from experience). Knowing they Uenoyama plays electric guitar, this only makes the pain of that worse, and makes this a stronger point (again, experience, -1000/10 would not recommend, really hurts). Breaking your heart/having it broken hurts, and the strings getting caught only make it worse as the scrape and puncture you and make you feel more hurt. This goes into the loose strings, if you play it safe you won’t get hurt, but the sound won’t be the same. The feeling won’t be the same. The emotion won’t be the same.

When a guitar string feels like it’s about to break, you unwind it, or distance from it if it’s too late to unwind as you’re scared you will get hurt. This is especially true if you’ve been through the pain of a broken string before. When your heart is about to reach its breaking point, people often unwind the progress of how it got there, or they distance themselves from their heart to try and keep it from reaching that point.

To me, this quote can also demonstrate the line between intense emotion and a crash from them, as it says ‘wind them up until they’re about to break’. It shows that when you push yourself too much you will break, so you have to be aware of where before the break will be so you can stop yourself from doing too much.

The wave hitting your eardrums can be a metaphor for the feeling of being whole as you didn’t hold back and didn’t over do it. The perfect amount of risk and holding back is what creates the wave, creates a feeling that makes you feel whole and fulfilled.

“I think the heart is similar to these strings. When the pain is too much to bear and you can’t breathe, it hurts, like the strings laid across your chest are about to snap. It’s just like when you keep strumming and picking at the strings at their very limit, and sometimes they snap. Sometimes you feel like they can’t ever be replaced. But if there were someone to replace your strings for you, like this… I feel like your wounds may heal just a little.”

This quote is also from Uenoyama, and compares the strings to intense emotion, love, heartbreak, grief.

I found that It goes with the other quote and my explanation of the first one in general, so I added it.

i am so curious. whos your favorite of organization 13 (the original but the "real" is fine too if u have any particular favorites) . i feel like roxas and xion are obvious answers because if you hate either of them you're just sucks. but other than them

xion is 100% my favourite org member hands down, both her role in the original and the 'real', but if not her then larxene literally showed up for one game, served cunt, was a bitch, and died. and then came back. and i love her so fucking much for it. when she dies in 3 she literally just admits that she didnt give a shit about xehanort shes just there for the drama and i love her so much for it, she also has cool ass knives which i gotta respect her for

she's also just like. an ACTUAL antagonistic original kh female character!! kairi, aqua, xion, namine, olette, and the other original kh girls are all protagonists or at least on the side of light which is cool but it leads to a lot of similarities in characterisation and not much variance. but larxene. she fucking kicked a child then threatened another with her knives. UNAPOLOGETICALLY. then comes back in kh3 in the frozen world and actually makes a good point about having to autonomy of choice. but in general she sucks and i love her for it!! i was recently thinking about either a com roleswap between her and marluxia/a personality swap with them (theyre already relatively similar being co-conspirators and all but slightly stoic and mysterious/ominous larxene and marluxia being more of a taunting bitch about someone sora forgot about and constantly withholding that information just out of reach (which would be a good parallel to his own experience with strelitzia and his whole past) is a dynamic i would love)

her voice acting is also very enjoyable AND my favourite spell is thunder so i gotta give her that. one thing i will say is that i was kinda sad that her remix of the 13th struggle in the kh3 data bosses is the most similar to the original and she doesnt get anything too unique. especially given the fact that saix has ELECTRIC guitars and not her, i really think it wouldve gone hard. my one wish for her in the future (since it looks like ux characters will be relevant) is that they dont just completely erase her personality and let her keep some of that edge, i dont want her to be washed down to another demure, generic supporting female character.

i can also say that my very very least favourite org member is xaldin because i have a strong personal grudge against david dayan fisher (xaldin's eng va) that i cannot say without revealing some very personal information. when i say personal grudge i dont mean theres like an obscure fact about him that i wont ever actually experience or be affected by that i dont like, i mean this is a very real/personal thing that i do not like him for. in person (its not that serious but i love being a hater. and i will never forgive him)

hmm I don't have Too many thoughts on zones music tbh but i think for as well loved as all forms of rock and roll are rock bands arent the most common type of band you'll see bc all the equipment cant really be run without electricity and thats hard to find. instead a lot of musicians rely on instruments that dont really need amps to be heard so like acoustic guitars, i think there has to be at least one orchestra, brass/woodwind instruments, there's choirs, and also whatever made up instruments can be put together from pieces of scrap are way more common than electric guitars and basses.

i also think almost all music recorded in the zones sounds like shit (affectionate) bc like lets be real theres no proper recording studios or sound mixing equipment whatever shitty recorder youve got is what you have to work with and a lot of zones bands are live shows only with no recorded music at all bc theres so few ways to get it recorded. when bands DO record music the cd or cassette tape or whatever they managed to record it on goes straight to whatever radio dj will take it bc with no good way to make a ton of copies of their cds/cassettes/whatever theres not really a way to sell them and more people will hear it over the radio than any other way.

also diy merch is SUPER common since again, theres not really a way for bands to make that stuff themselves and sometimes people even record their full albums!! if they can borrow it from a dj or convince them to play the whole thing live they'll cross record it and keep their copy for themselves. its considered like common courtesy to toss money up on stage for the band if you make your own merch or cross record their music to pay them the way you would if they could actually make and sell their own stuff. so if youre at the front of a concert be ready for people to be passing you money to toss up there for the whole entire show

as for oc bands i dont think i actually have any that i made up myself you made up a bunch and i absorbed them into my canon <3

Tangents

okay, so heres that tangent I warned about

so for the last like 10 years I have had this fantasy of winning the lottery and starting a business.....that first part is mostly the fantasy, because without that theres no way I could afford to do the latter

basically it comes down to new technology that allows automation for small guys like me, stuff like these

basically with 3D printing and affordable cnc and laser cutting machines, a guy like me could have the man power of like 10 people, and if I hired maybe 10 people total to assist, I could easily do something on par with much bigger companies.

my initial fantasy just involved making guitars, granted more advanced guitars then I think the market insists upon, because they are locked in the habit of what has proven sellable to MOST people. fender scale length, bolt on neck, 2 humbuckers, faux les paul look and feel. every company does it, no shame. just not my thing.

I've had this idea, which I've experimented with and talked about in the past, the guitar of the future. Ive done mockups etc like this

but as I've grown older, honestly what I think it should really be is a cheap reliable guitar with a few tricks up its sleeve. so I have reimagined it as basically this

telecasters are simple, and on a cnc machine if you made it as layers that were later glued together, you could make it very easily. the 4x2 headstock is better for straight string pull, and helps eliminate tuning instability. replacing the old school pickups with active style pickups like emg would make it more versatile, and then adding the b bender, along with string drops a g bender, and maybe even a strap actuated bender, the guitar could cover a lot more roles then a standard electric guitar. plus I honestly think benders are cool and more people need to play them, so making them as cheap and accessable as possible is a good idea

just a simple guitar, maybe of paulownia or plywood, cut as 2 or 3 sections and glued together, and then maybe even using a circuit board instead of wire to speed up production, its a great idea.

but I started looking into what else I could do with this hypothetical company that basically 3D prints things, and cncs plywood

I guess bikes

I am a big fan of ebikes, mainly because I believe genuinely in the next 10 years they will begin to be a lot more common in most major cities, their prices will come down as there are more batteries in circulation for evs, and being able to make quick simple bikes like this to sell locally, it seems like a way to directy serve the market I want to live in.

I also looked into stereo equipment, as I am a big hifi guy, and I am a huge raspberry pi fan, so seeing stuff for hifi pi, again it would be a market i understand, and think shouldnt be so fuckin expensive

I also genuinely would love to make a cheap hammond organ clone

like sub $500, because when I was wanting to pickup the instrument it was very hard to get the $ together to do so, and I know if you could injection mold the keys, cnc the body print the circuit boards, and use an arduino or raspberry pi to run a soft synth hammond clone, you could easily hit that price point

more people need to play the organ

lastly is furniture

I love basic designs and furniture has always been something that I enjoy looking at, modern furniture designs, stuff from the last 50s early 60s, its so timeless and the open source furniture movement just scratches that itch. it's simple, but stylish, its utilitarian but it doesnt look bland

the idea of being able to make these things, locally, and just being able to put out into the world things I want and I know other people would too.....I think i'd like that

kraftwerk 2 is such a cool album like aside from just being dope i think its so cool u have the songs with bass and guitar not just cause its bass and guitar but like u can hear that ralf and florian still gravitate toward similar playing styles on instruments that they dont seem to be as familiar with compared to their normal instruments. like ralf still pursues rhythmic stuff like he did on the electric organ/electric piano and florian still does like echo-y things and just more expansive spacial sounds like he would on flute but they dont seem as like able to conjure relaxing moods liek they were able to with the keyboard flute combo and instead all the guitar bass stuff sounds more moody. like its intereesting cause  i think theyre really great at the keyboards and flute respectively like florian was able to rly do great terry riley type stuff and ralf was able to improvise in a way that still contributed to the rhythm and deep end of the music while also sprinkling in the lil melodies that kraftwerk would eventually become defined by. but like with them on bass and guitar ralf would still do rhythm stuff but instead on bass and idk if florian was using like an echo still or was just letting the guitar naturally reverb or smthn but like its rly cool that theres still that formula but simply changing the instruments changed the music entirely. idk tho kraftwerk 2 may also be seen as an underwhelming album to some ppl so like its an album that invites being read and analyzed compared to like the psychedelic instrumentals of their first album or the more consistently mood pieces of ralf und florian. tho i do think kraftwerk 2 is a rly great album like i dont actually think its underwhelming at all its just one of those great albums that gets better with each listen and like def feels like compared to their firsst album they were actually trying to set out to make something rly just disciplined unlike the more dicking around type stuff of their first album. i like a lot of their first album too tho i think all their albums are great lol tho their first is probably the most like idk stuff that kinda feels aimless. ppl always say experimental stockhausen stuff in rock/krautrock stuff is aimless and i hate that cause i once saw some1 say taht augmn from tago mago was filler and on the same level as sondarangebot from neu’s debut and that made me want to ring their neck lol like smthn like augmn is def one of cans greatest achievements ANYWAYS ya like in the case of kraftwerks first album a good amount of the spacey stuff kinda feels more like idk just aimless and more just them playing with gadgets in the typical rock fashion than anything with a real weight but also at the same time i like the mix of stockhausen sounds with liek free improvisation sounds like its a cool mix. I REALLY FUCKING LOVE machine gun by peter brotzmann and brotzmann’s work in general cause i lovethat mix of john cage or stockhausen grupen type stuff with free jazz like its rly great conceptually and musically mixing the two with such straightforward success. i mean european free improvisation as a whole is like that and that makes it rly great imo. ANYWAYS i do feel like kraftwerk 1 as a whole is definitely uneven even tho its a great fun listen. like theres things ‘wrong’ with it that isnt in their other work stuff that dates it more but also its still a great fun album for sure. ruckzuck will always be a essential kraftwerk track for sure kinda sucks they disowned their earlier albums cause a song like that rly is an essential part of their history. like its ruckzuck -> kling klang -> tanzmusik -> autobahn -> radio activity -> trans europe express -> the model -> the entirety of computer world -> tour de france etc if you wanna chart their growth and changes as a band solely on a song to song basis. like those ARE the defining songs of their career. haikyuu + music [episode 24]

this is basically just a list of observations but the music in this episode was actually super cool and subconsciously helped the viewer get into the feel of the show so here y’all go lmao

at the beginning, you’ve got this ominous and techy sort of beat, during the super quick rallies between inarizaki and karasuno. this has actually been a recurring theme throughout the season, although i can’t say i recall hearing this throughout seasons 1-3. if it has, it’s been way more noticeable during the inarizaki match. it makes you kind of nervous, but mostly leaves you in anticipation.

during kita’s speech about geniuses, the drumset and guitars come in, leading their way into a funk/rock beat. the addition of crashes on the set + chords on the guitar let you know kita’s gonna have a badass moment something cool’s going on/going to happen in the match

the next piece of music that plays is inarizaki’s fight song, which is a masterpiece in and of itself. the underlying rudiments on snare + repetitive hits on bass are at a pretty fast tempo, and it contrasts perfectly to the trumpets coming in. 

the upwards ascent of the notes played by the brass instruments build anticipation as atsumu raises his hands to cut the band off 

the next piece isn’t until atsumu scores his service ace, and it’s a repeat of the theme that played in the beginning with the rallies, with the heavy bass line.

after that, there’s a theme change when karasuno scores a point, which can possibly indicate that the previous theme was a signal that inarizaki was in the lead?

the piece the taiko drummers play is very beautiful and so is tanaka saeko. i love them.

you’ve got this slow melancholy piece with a focus on piano (forgot the technical term lol) waIT NO I DIDNT ITS CALLED MELODY

anyways the theme with the melody on piano is played when there’s a focus on tsukishima, and how he trusts hinata to be there behind him. it’s soft, and gentle. then, when hinata receives, you’ve got a fucking AMAZING drum fill for a measure bringing in drums and other brass instruments. it’s kind of like an interlude for tsukishima’s thoughts.

you’ve got strings coming in during hinata’s internal thought process of the receive, and i firmly believe if i looked at the sheet music for violin right now the direction would say “majestic” to show hinata and tsukishima’s personal growth

all the instruments continue in harmony as daishou explains teamwork in volleyball, which i personally think is pretty fuckin cool

whenever inarizaki shows up on screen, or when karasuno is receiving, electric guitars fill the sound. when karasuno is launching an attack with inarizaki receiving, string instruments are playing.

there’s another majestic theme playing during asahi’s internal thought process as he goes up against the three man block.

during the tiny dateko interlude, you’ve got bass instruments playing in a steadily increasing tempo, and a reprise of the asahi’s majestic theme as they show the flashback from the practice game against date tech! (gonna start calling this asahi’s theme lmao)

tHERES A REALLY BADASS THEME WITH GUITAR PLAYING DURING OSAMU’S INTERNAL THOUGHT PROCESS I LOVE IT

not music but kageyama is so pretty

as aran scores another point, the music gets more powerful and you can tell it’s in the middle of the piece, with percussion going full force in the background (the piece that led into this was the inarizaki fight song, which could possibly b a signal that they were going to score the point, because the transition was gradual)

all music stops after a sudden crescendo for kageyama’s setter dump, making the viewer get ready for something important and causing shock when the music stops exactly as the ball falls

kageyama’s smirk.

tsukishima’s smirk. 

tsukishima has a pretty badass theme playing after his serve, which leads into a more majestic piece from earlier during the rallies

it’s not very noticeable, but as the speed of the plays quickens, the music does too. the brass and percussion sections work together to increase the tempo, which helps increase the tense feeling of “shit this is going too fast

this is also where the vignette comes into play and hinata brightens

all music stops as hinata receives the ball and sends it (?) high, giving the players time to breathe.

a slow piece with strings at the core starts playing as hinata smiles, similar to the one from before when he received the ball from tsukishima’s block

as kageyama sets the ball for the synchronized attack, a new theme comes into play. i really need to use more words than majestic, but that’s exactly what this piece is. it’s beautiful and repetitive, with crescendos as tsukishima and daichi struggle to receive

AND HERE’S WHAT I THINK IS AMAZING:

THE SECOND AFTER THE FLASHES OF THE KANJI FROM INARIZAKI’S BANNER SHOW, THE SECOND AFTER ATSUMU SETS THE BALL, THE MAIN PIECE THAT IS REPEATED THROUGHOUT ALL FOUR SEASONS PLAYS. THE PIECE THAT PLAYS WHENEVER KARASUNO WINS. WHENEVER THEY HAVE IMPORTANT MOMENTS. WHENEVER HINATA GROWS. 

it speeds up as gin and akagi rush to receive the ball, and a quieter version of the melody plays as kita watches the ball fall.

this main theme continues (the one of the entire shows) at a tempo that’s at least 30 bpm quicker than it’s normally played

it quiets down a bit during the cheers as karasuno wins and tsukishima’s thoughts, but comes back in full force 

as the screen shows the miya twins, there’s a measure every now and then with two notes from inarizaki’s fight song mixed in with the main karasuno theme

that’s the end of the episode, but i think that music was really fucking beautiful and helped the plot progress immensely

i had to cut six bullet points for length and it still ended up being this monster. what the fuck.

i think leorio is gonna get Big Sad someday bc hes like, so normal compared to the other MCs, and also hes suuuuch a bleeding heart (i love him....) so i feel like thats gonna lead to some sadness for him once his friends start doing crazy shit or w/e

Lea Marie Ogden/Blomish/Sadler depending on what part of her life you are referring too.

2. How did your para's parents decide on their name?

Lea Marie's dad left before she was born and her mom hated Lea Marie since she was pregnant so she never even picked out a name for the "little parasite." When she was born, her mom spat at the nurse telling her to pick out a name. The nurse chose Lea Marie, after her aunt who just passed.

3. How tall are they?

5'3"

4. What do they look like?

She's of Japanese/Greek decent with dark black hair till shes 17 (and had to kill her brother out of self defense) and her hair turns gray from the trauma of it. Her eyes are deep blue.

5. What is their birthday (month, date, and year)?

February 29th, 1992. Her mom used to tell Lea Marie she was born on a leap year so she could have "less birthdays" then everyone else because no one should be celebrating her birth. After being adopted, her step mom celebrated her birthday on non-leap years on both February 28th and March 1st because it was extra special and needed to be celebrated for 2 whole days!

6. Where were they born?

New Jersey, 25 minute train ride from NYC. I never settled on a town because I dont know much about geography anyway but also because Lea Marie grew up in a town with a lot of gang violence going on. It's the main reason her teachers never cared about her obvious abuse in her house. Everyone showed up with bruises and scars.

Japan! They came over from Japan in the 1940s and changed their last names to a more english sounding one in order to hopefully find a job easier.

NYC. Lea Marie and her husband Jared are broadway actors.

9. Do they have any medical problems, diseases, injuries?

Because her mom smoked/drank while pregnant, the muscles in Lea Marie's legs and lower back never full formed. As a result she can't walk without assistance. She uses crutches and a wheelchair to get by (depending). She prefers her crutches but a wheelchair is easier in most situations. In the winter she almost exclusively has to use a wheelchair because of how much her legs and back hurts. When she was a kid/teenager it didnt bother her as much but in her adult life it really messes with her.

10. What religion are they, and why?

I guess pagan? Her dad is literally Hermes so she kinda has to believe in the greek gods, but with how much shit her stepbrother and her gave gone through as a result of them she sure as hell doesnt worship them.

11. What kind of house/apartment do they live in?

As a kid, she lived with her grandparents till she was 4. Imagine the most basic of suburban white family homes and that's where she lived. After she lived with her mom in a tiny, very shitty 1 bedroom/1 bathroom home. Lea Marie's "room" was the laundry room where a washer and dryer never even existed because she was too poor. Her bed was a beanbag chair and 2 pillows. After being adopted she moves into her stepparents 3 bedroom/2 bath apartment in NYC where she sleeps in a bed for the very first time in her life.

Now she lives in a one story house, 2 bedroom house in nyc (which I don't think exist but it's my paracosm and I will do whatever the hell I want!). The one bedroom is a regular bedroom while the other is a recording studios for her and her husband to record (mostly covers) in but Lea Marie also writes her own songs and music.

12. Do they have any pets?

Jared is deathly allergic to every animal, so no. But Lea Marie still loves all animals and would love to own a dog, but knows she cant.

13. Are you married? If so, what is your spouse’s name?

As previously mentioned, she is to her husband Jared Sadler (he goes by his middle name but I never actually came up with a first name for him). They've been best friends since they were 8 years old and started dating when they were 16, got married when they were 24. They started dating after they were the lead roles in Legally Blonde for their theater company so I kinda have to add (very cheesily) "if there ever was a perfect couple this one quailfies" because they've never fought once and both are so understanding and patient with each other.

14. What kind of car do they drive?

Lea Marie doesn't drive mostly because shes too scared to do so but also...she lives in NYC so theres no actual point.

15. What was their first job?

She played guitar in Book of Mormon. When people ask what her first show was never never knows if that counts or not. She did that for a year before going on to play Bazzard.

16. What is their dream job?

To play Elphaba in Wicked! She had seen the show 237 times prior to getting the role (because yes she gets the role. She deserves it). Her husband got the role of firero at the same time.

17. What are other facts/stories about them?

Lea Marie's first language was Japanese (which she learned from her grandparents) then sign language (which she learned from Jared's brother in daycare when she was 3), then english (which she became fluent when she was around 8 in because she was in the same class as Jared's brother and often watched the interrupter), and after being claimed by Hermes at camp half blood she was given the gift of tongues (which isnt a thing in the books but it makes sense since Hermes is the god of travel) so she can speak any language that's not Latin.

She had selective mutism until she was 18. She only spoke to people who she actually thought would listen and value her opinion. The most people she talked to at one time was 20. This is because her mom silenced her and didn't allow her to make any noise at home. If she did she would either be hit or locked in her room for days on end. After extensive therapy, she finally started talking to everyone. However she still barely talks as is unless she has to talk. At home she uses mostly sign language to Jared (even though he makes her comfortable to talk). But if you ever get her drunk, she will not stop talking! She will tell you every story ever when she's drunk. Jared loves it because he loves her so much and loves when shes comfortable enough to talk. The only other time she talks more than usual is if shes in a really good mood.

She is adept at pick pocketing and only has been caught once when she was 8 when she stole a $10k watch off a very important, very terrible business man in NYC. She panicked when caught and threw it down a drain. They gave her a choice to go to jail (cause the guy was a terrible person) or join the theater company in her hometown that was created because of all the gang violence to give kids something to do after school (very aware this is not how things work but it's my paracosm). She joined the theater and learned to play the guitar at first just trying not to be seen until Jared begged her to audition. After reminding him she like talking, Jared told her "but it's not you talking! It's the character! You're someone completely different up there. Everyone want to hear what you say!" Lea Marie loved this idea and so she did audition and got the part of little red riding hood in into the woods. She loved plays ever sense because she loved being someone shes not.

Her favorite movie is legally blonde and it was also the only lead role she got in said theater company.

She learned how to do guitar solos on an acoustic guitar when her mom wasnt home because someone told her disabled people cant play the guitar and she wanted to prove them wrong. (She played the electric at the theater).

Her mom works as a manager of the only gas station in town.

She was kicked out of a total of 4 schools. Once when she was 8 for starting a fight, once when she was 10 for finishing a fight, once when she was 14 because she was caught having sex in a janitors closest, and once when she was 15 because she was caught having sex in the boys bathroom. The first 3 were in new jersy in her home town while the last one was in NYC since no school in New Jersey wanted her. Her mom was pissed she had to pick her up so often and when she was kicked out her mom was threatening to kill her. She was so scared she got out of the car and "ran" to her best friends apartment (where she spent most of her time anyway and was pretty much their daughter). Her best friends mom and step dad adopted her a week later (not how things work but in my paracosm because demigods are so dangerous they have a law specifically for them to not be placed in foster care if avoided so as not to cause more trouble).

I think I just dumped a lot but I still might add onto this later. This is so fun and I'm glad this is a thing! I cant wait to read about your paras!
