we've gone on to largely assume that the powers in Link Click are transferrable when someone dies in your arms (as evidenced by Qiao Ling seemingly getting Xixi's power in the finale and Lu Guang being able to dive to save Cheng Xiaoshi sometime in the past).

but what if that's not?? how powers are transferred??

what if it's simpler than that, and the person with the power just has to touch you and WILL it to you?

what if that night while Cheng Xiaoshi was dying in Lu Guang's arms he very intentionally gave Lu Guang his diving power, hoping that he would go back in time and save him? and THAT'S why Lu Guang is so dedicated to saving Cheng Xiaoshi, because Cheng Xiaoshi literally tasked Lu Guang with finding a way to save his life, to change an unchangeable node?

Dawn of Yangchen but Yangchen and Kavik get together really early on in the book, but when she meets his parents they don’t treat her with the reverence they would the avatar, because Kavik’s parents simply do not believe their son could pull the avatar of all people, so despite his attempts to get her to prove she’s the avatar she’s so enamored with being treated a little bit normally she forgets all about being the avatar.

Then Kavik’s mom screams in the kitchen because Yangchen used firebending to light the stove

Is Togon an A+ boyfriend material in RL? Hell no. Is he totally entertaining to watch in his obsession? Hell yeah. The more dysfunctional it gets, the more I love it.

Anyway, SN is off to meet Wang Yu but before she walks out the door, in runs Togon (wonder what servants think of his always running to the servant quarters instead of summoning said servant to him.)

And then she shoves him just a bit but that's enough because he really wasn't gonna do anything other than act out and go "look at me" in the most dysfunctional way possible. Honestly, for an emperor who is divine-right entitled to any woman in that palace, this was the mildest thing ever. (I wonder how people only used to youth sageuks which have modern people playing dress up would take that though - probably not well - but it's just as well if they peace out before all the murder starts because nobody in this except Wang Yu ends up untainted.)
