the whole running away thing went good! we got out of there without a hitch, and i've been living in spade and iggy's new apartment in illinois since thursday afternoon! i've been able to eat good for the first time in forever, i've got a cute as shit dog to keep me company, and i've been living in a pretty nice place, i think. i've had pillsbury biscuits for the first time in over ten years and they were good :]

What constitutes the difference between a good erotica story & a bad one? Specifically, where is the line between "just smut" & "an actual (erotic) story"?

There is no line.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with "just smut" and it's just as much "an actual (erotica) story" as any other story.

We do ask people avoid vignettes - as in, a short, descriptive piece where nothing changes. The standard vignette is something like "an evocative description of a single place in a single moment of time." There's nothing wrong with this, to be clear, and it can be used to fascinating effect, but it's not technically a story in that it has no plot.

We actually once wrote an entire post about what is and isn't a "story," and the TL:DR is that what constitutes a story is that something changes.

Having an orgasm counts as "something changing." So would people getting together, or breaking up, or heck someone getting edged to oblivion and then having their orgasm denied. They got edged. An event happened. Therefore, it has a plot, and something about the characters' relationship has changed because they were involved in that dynamic.

Basically: we love porn for porn's sake and we're absolutely open to pwp stories for this anthology. I expect that we'll end up accepting both stories where the porn is the plot and stories that have a plot where porn is one element.
