Scavengers Reign is like
babyfaced psychic buttnewt: I shall now manipulate you with my mind control goop
organically-enhanced sentient robot: unfortunately for you, my mind is mycelially hardwired into the entire cosmos and its transcendent wonder at itself, and you simply are not equipped to handle that shit
babyfaced psychic buttnewt: oh god *unevolves*

the new interview with a vampire show is the epitome of how to successfully do a reboot. they don’t try to perfectly imitate what worked before, they add more layers to the story without derailing the characters. it’s just !!!

My condolences to literally anyone who was seriously invested about the shipping in this show. I was here for Melinda and Emma’s journey the whole time, and I got blessed during that finale.

"Cassian's face is a brittle thing, no person's eyes should shine as painfully tearful as his. Kino offers his hand and Cassian - bright as the sun, steady as a roc, fluid as water Cassian - accepts it with shaking fingers. He tells Kino everything."
Art for we're spitting off the edge of the world by Xenomorphic for the 2024 Star Wars Big Bang @swbigbang. It is an amazing Canon Divergence Fix-it fic from one of the most memorable moments of Andor onwards, with beautiful prose that fits the mood of the show so so well and will make you feel just as deeply for these characters. Please give it a read and heap some love on my team's amazing and hardworking author, they were such a delight to work with!❤️

If ur not careful I might have to watch torchwood… do u recommend or is it an affliction you would not recommend to others?
hehehehehe >:3c gottem boys
no fr like. you have to look past the fact it's a low budget bbc production at times and embrace the slightly see through lesbian alien with foot long fingers that can read minds. you have to embrace the sex alien that absorbs people through her pussy. crucially, you have to watch it in as few sittings as possible. the only proper way to watch torchwood is to watch the entire thing absolutely nonstop and nothing else in between until your brain falls out through your ears :)

VIBRATES!!! Sticker sheet collab hosted by @cecilioque came in so ofc I HAD to start using them >:)) they all came out so nicely, I had such a hard time picking and choosing which ones should go on my computer ^^'' unfortunately had to cut quite a few of my favorites to leave room for future stickers :( but the rest are going on my binders, so it works out!
[image id: a photo of a laptop lid covered in stickers. Many of them are pokemon, with many other miscellaneous stickers too, including possums amongst other animals, bugs and insects, and several stars, suns and moons. Several stickers are starting to overlap from how many there are. End id]

listen ive read a lot of fucked up manga, like, everything from uzumaki to oyasumi punpun to blood on the tracks. and generally they dont really fuck me up all too much. despite how harrowing all those examples are i dont feel like i get /too/ twisted up inside. or disturbed on, like, a fundamental level. but for some reason "inside mari" fucked me up. its not "scary", or the deepest, and its not even a series i would overall recommend to most but... for some reason after reading it i had like full on dissociative episodes for a few days. i dont know what about it got to me so much, because at its base nothing in it "scared" me- it's not a horror! its a psychological deep dive, a body swap story with a twist on a twist. i dont know what about it messed with me and i wish i could figure it out because i feel like there has to be a reason. but i literally dont know

One of the things I like most about Sharp Objects is the way it does flashbacks. It conveys memory and the pasts of the characters so creatively, it doesn’t smash-cut to the past or re-play clips whenever they need to show a character remembering something, it weaves the sounds and images together in a way that flows. As a viewer, it makes me feel like my intelligence is being respected and that the makers of the show trust the viewer enough not to spoon feed them information and create a really clunky image

So, I've watched a few episodes of shows that dealt with the Flannan Isles Lighthouse mystery, where 3 lighthouse keepers disappeared without a trace. And every time I was like "okay, I see how this is spooky and could make a good story . . . but there's like a bunch of evidence that it was a giant wave. Why are we trying to pretend this isn't the case just to make it worth doing an episode on."
Fortunately The Constant podcast answered that for me with its latest episode, The One From Nowhere. Which explained that the incident WAS initially considered a mystery because until very recently - like, 1984 - we didn't think giant waves existed outside of tsunamis! And it's a great episode and I super recommend listening to it because a) rogue waves are FASCINATING and extremely terrifying, and b) it was way, WAY more fun to listen to than a bunch of hemming and hawing about how you never know, COULD IT HAVE BEEN GHOSTS???
Just. Stop massaging the evidence to make up bullshit mysteries in order to drive engagement!! Start thinking about the very cool science behind the evidence that already exists!!
